"saying that despite his illness the nation should not be afraid of the virus"

"has killed more than 210,000 Americans."

This winter is going to prove interesting, to say the least.

18 ( +29 / -11 )

Actually, what the American people are seeing is an insecure megalomaniac who is so worried about 'appearing weak' that he's willing to risk the lives of Secret Service agents, White House staff, and more just so he can look 'strong.'

Every timeline available for COVID says that days 7-10 are the most touch and go for ANYONE who catches it. Now, since we don't know when Trump's last negative test was (the White House won't release that for obvious reasons), we have to assume that he became positive somewhere around Wednesday or Thursday of last week, meaning he's on Day 6. And he's already had to have supplemental oxygen and experimental drugs.

In other words, his 'strength' is smoke and mirrors, a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. Nothing except that he's still weak, infected, and insecure about it.

33 ( +45 / -12 )

Trump's doctor, Navy Cdr Sean Conley, said the president would not be fully out of the woods for another week, but he said Trump had “met or exceeded all standard hospital discharge criteria.”

Most Americans agree, Trump should be discharged on November 3rd.

Don't lose sight of the fact that the man who is receiving the best health care in America has government lawyers in court trying to take away your healthcare.

23 ( +33 / -10 )

Trump leaving hospital is a questionable at best decision. One of the side effects of the virus has been impaired reasoning, and given Trump's erratic behavior (see Biden debate) I wonder if he's now even more unstable.

Vector 1 and his WH minions need to be held accountable for spreading Covid45 throughout their swamp. And for 210,000 deaths, 7,000,000 sickened and economy in shambles for the majority of the country.

18 ( +27 / -9 )

"saying that despite his illness the nation should not be afraid of the virus"

"has killed more than 210,000 Americans."

President Trump is right. I completely agree with his statement.

And how quickly people forget.

On the CDC it clearly stated that the people who die because of covid is significantly lower than those who die with covid. There is an extremely stark difference.

Euro countries are careful to measure this yet the US is too loose and even if you are terminally ill and dying and you by chance get covid in your last days, it's labeled a covid death.

Nevertheless, President Trump is on the mend and in good spirits and the people brought the rally to the hospital to cheer him on.

It's all good and we're back in action!

MAGA!

President Trump 2020!

Don’t be afraid of Covid

That is probably the worst message he should be sending.  Yet to hear him say anything about social distancing, washing hands and wearing masks.  That should be the message from the President.

19 ( +27 / -8 )

Trump's disgusting, tone-deaf tweet downplaying the deadly nature of the virus and up-playing his administration's handling of the pandemic (I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today... Feeling really good! Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!) will have lost him the sympathy of anyone with any awareness of the enormity of Trump's total failure to prevent the deaths of 210,000+ Americans, many of whom did not receive presidential medical care. That narcissistic tweet could serve as an epitaph carved in stone for his one-term debacle as "the worst president America has ever had."

15 ( +25 / -10 )

If anyone else tried to leave AMA the doctor would have ordered a Psychological consultation.

I hope he decompensates, relapses and goes on a vent. It would serve him right.

The man is tough. Usually most are out of comission for weeks. This man is a machine. Virus got nothing on him. If Biden was in his place, he would probably be totally out of the race. Trump 2020!

-23 ( +9 / -32 )

As soon as I heard about his tweet I laughed out loud... wondering how quickly the left would lose their minds over it. Turns out they already had. Lol.

-21 ( +8 / -29 )

Great! The liberal mob has already gone ballistic. A force to be reckoned with! MAGA 2020!

-25 ( +7 / -32 )

Don’t be afraid of Covid

Apparently he was quite scared when he was shipped to hospital and it dawned on him that he might be on his death bed.

15 ( +23 / -8 )

He left, against treatment protocols, still infectious, exposing staff. David Gergen, counselor to 5-6 Presidents says “We are in the grip of a madman”.

Thanks for saying the quiet part out loud, Dave.

20 ( +26 / -6 )

On the CDC it clearly stated that the people who die because of covid is significantly lower than those who die with covid. There is an extremely stark difference.

The COVID-deniers have really latched onto this whole "death with COVID" narrative in the last few days. Yes, if Trump died he would be death with COVID - COVID plus obesity. It still would be the COVID that finished him off.

Most elderly people suffer from some disease or other, but many will have years to live. Much as if they catch influenza, it will probably finish them off.

15 ( +18 / -3 )

Before this Trump was reported to be taking a range of different medicines. Now he's taking more, some even 'experimental'.

Unfortunately the American public and the world are put at further risk because of the unknown-unknowns that could result from his drug cocktails. Given he was emotionally and mentally unstable before contracting Covid45, who knows what he's capable of doing.

https://www.npr.org/sections/latest-updates-trump-covid-19-results/2020/10/02/919664729/trump-receives-experimental-drug-for-covid-19-heres-what-doctors-are-watching-fo

9 ( +12 / -3 )

Mr. Trump is being treated with dexamethasone, a powerful steroid recommended for use to treat severe cases of COVID-19. The drug can carry serious psychological side effects, but Conley said the president has not exhibited any of them yet.

I found this statement by Trump’s doctor interesting. Especially the last sentence.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Wait till the roids wear off and the pneumonia that he very likely has advances.

The shot of him being wheeled into the chopper hooked up to a portable vent will go “viral.”.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

The man is tough. Usually most are out of comission for weeks. This man is a machine. Virus got nothing on him.

If only the other 7.4 million people infected under his watch had access to the same experimental drugs, helicopters and level of care.

14 ( +17 / -3 )

total frigging MAD MAN!!

18 ( +21 / -3 )

I dislike everything from that man, from his political view to it’s ego and arrogance, saying that as a human being I wish him a good and speedy recovery for himself and his wife, and after he’ll be 100% fit and healthy to lose this campaign and be kicked out from the white house with the power of votes and peaceful democracy.

I hope he’s looking better tomorrow.

3 ( +9 / -6 )

While it's nice to see that he is recovering. I feel it's the wrong message that he's sending not to be afraid of this virus. Yes, if everyone had access to the kind of care and treatment that he received, then maybe people can feel more confident. However, the majority of people don't and have died as a result, or suffered lasting effects from this disease.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

On the CDC it clearly stated that the people who die because of covid is significantly lower than those who die with covid. There is an extremely stark difference.

Yet “excess deaths” thus far in the pandemic compared to previous years show that the deaths have actually been significantly understated.

One can play semantics but the fact is over 210,000 Americans have died, many unnecessarily because of the mishandling of the US’s response led by Trump.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

Trump is beyond bizarre. He's way beyond mentally balanced.

He's Captain Quasar!

5 ( +10 / -5 )

Apparently he was quite scared when he was shipped to hospital and it dawned on him that he might be on his death bed.

Seems like you missed a whole 2 days of news when the helicopter was waiting for over an hour on the White House lawn waiting to take him to the hospital because he didn't feel the need to go. A day later he was going from room to room greeting other patients. Yes, sounds like a worried man to me.

-12 ( +3 / -15 )

Anybody else look at that photo and think “wow, what small thumbs”?

8 ( +11 / -3 )

The liberal media is beside themselves with disappointment. CNN is on total meltdown mode as this wad supposed to be the end of Trump.

-17 ( +3 / -20 )

Aside from all of the questionable logistics of having to look after a " rogue" patient - ie do it my way - the most interesting thing for me was how yellow his hair has become. Watching video it's really apparent.

Is it a desire to project youth and vitality or a side effect of the drug cocktails?

He then walked upstairs to the South Portico balcony, took off his mask and stuffed it in his pocket...

He tweeted, "I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 P.M. Feeling really good! Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don't let it dominate your life...

Trump’s experience with the disease has been dramatically different from most Americans, who do not have access to the same kind of monitoring and care. While most must cope with their symptoms — and fear of whether they’ll take a turn for the worse — at home and alone, Trump has been staying in the presidential suite of one of the nation's best hospitals and has been given experimental drugs not readily available to the public.

The still-infectious president surprised supporters who had gathered outside the hospital, riding by Sunday in a black SUV with the windows rolled up. Secret Service agents inside the vehicle could be seen in masks and other protective gear.

Even before Trump's motorcade outing on Sunday, some Secret Service agents had expressed concern about the lackadaisical attitude toward masks and social distancing inside the White House, but there isn’t much they can do...

Many in the White House are also shaken and scared — nervous that they have been exposed to the virus and confronting the reality that what seemed like a bubble of safety has become a COVID-19 hot spot. It took until late Sunday for the White House to send a generic note to staffers suggesting they not come to the building if they do not feel well.

I was hoping that Trump would finally "get it" by getting sick, but it's obvious that it will not change his pathetic and incompetent response to the virus.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

Either the WH is going to be a petri dish, or he is lying. They can't even lie convincingly.

6 ( +10 / -4 )

Welcome home, Mr. President.

-14 ( +4 / -18 )

Trump is clearly unwell and struggling to breathe in the video. He’s not physically able to be the President, now. It’s clear that Pence should take over.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

That is just ridiculous to the point that I'm seriously questioning whether he has COVID or he is not ill. For the record, Boris Johnson spent one entire month between his positive diagnosis and his return to Downing Street after he got the disease. In Canada, the First Lady spent 16 days in isolation before she was declared fully clean.

Until someone says that he does not have COVID, I say it is pure recklessness for Trump to use the White House as a petri dish when it (the White House) has already more positive cases than New Zealand right now.

4 ( +9 / -5 )

More video was just posted of Trump at the White House gasping for air and wincing in pain as he breathed.

Once again the draft-dodging coward stands in front of the US flag and throws up a military salute and nobody seems to care.

If he weren't so stupid he wouldn't have gotten it in the first place.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

Nearly a third of hospitalized Covid-19 patients experienced some type of altered mental function — ranging from confusion to delirium to unresponsiveness — in the largest study to date of neurological symptoms among coronavirus patients in an American hospital system.

Only 32% of those with altered mental states were able to routine daily functions.

This information should worry everyone - a Donald Trump in an altered mental state beyond his current mental state.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

He’s not physically able to be the President, now. It’s clear that Pence should take over.

Have any of his doctors said that?

If he weren't so stupid he wouldn't have gotten it in the first place.

Over a million people have contracted the coronavirus worldwide. If they're weren't all so stupid they wouldn't have gotten it in the first place? No? Just Trump?

You funny, Super.

USA Today-

The White House rejected on Monday an offer from the nation’s public health experts to lead the effort to track down and notify Americans who were exposed to a growing coronavirus outbreak linked to President Donald Trump and several top aides.

Meanwhile no contact tracing at all. Further proof that Donald doesn't care about others.

Indeed, for the first time we agree on one thing.

Yes

HIS doctors said yesterday that he is still in a critical recovery stage and that the next few days are vital. Read the news, don’t just make stuff up.

True, so let’s all hope he continues to improve.

-12 ( +2 / -14 )

Wow, look at that photo - he's never been that pale.

So it's either Trump caught the virus, had serious implications that were covered up, and is now limping back to the White House to spend his two weeks in the quarantine bunker....or this was just another Donald con-job...

At this point, I'm not sure which one is true...

Why did he, infected with Covid, take his mask off with a photographer close?

Why and how come and what if’s is irrelevant, what happened, happened and the more important thing is, that the man gets better.

Regeneron, part of Trump's drug cocktail, contains embryonic stem cells.

I know that Republicans hate embryonic stem cells being used in any medical treatment, so I look forward to them condemning Trump's use of them now.

I thought you were against fake news. Why are you creating it?

Carrying enough virus load to have symptoms requiring hospitalisation and a cocktail of drugs, and he thinks it's a good idea to go from room to room and come into close proximity with people who are ill???

In what parallel universe is this even a thing, never mind an acceptable, even (apparently) laudable thing?

The photographer I’m talking about was on the balcony with him.

Why did Trump, a man infected with Covid, take off his mask in this situation? Covid has already ripped through the White House.

Is it a kind of macho, anti-science, anti-medical advice thing that his supporters seem to enjoy?

13 ( +13 / -0 )

those “people” are so disappointed and now even angry that Trump didn’t die.

I think they’re more angry that Trump’s ignorance will cause others to die!

Mask-less in the presence of multiple people RESHOOTING HIS ENTRANCE.

What a sad pathetic little “man.”.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

How so? he basically just showed that there is nothing to fear when an old, fat, orange guy who eats McDonalds and KFC, never exercises and is clinically obese can get corona and survive.

Proves that the medicine we already have is effective in cases where there is no comorbidity.

Time to open up and get back to work. No more Hidin in the basement.

-14 ( +1 / -15 )

Like it or not, Trump is the defacto leader of the Free World. He is not just another prime minister or president. He has to put on a strong face, show he is in control, and can never show weakness. And that he did. In the way that only a media savvy TV star can do. Good for him.

As with the vast majority of Covid patients, he had a mild case and is by all accounts recovering nicely.

I think the message is that people need to be concerned, but not paranoid. The pearl-clutching and wailing on the MSM were truly pathetic. Let's imagine for a second that Trump had quietly entered the White House through a side entrance rather than the helicopter tour. The 'journalists' would be saying, "oh look, Trump is slinking back into the White House without showing himself... what is he hiding? Is he really OK? He needs to reassure the American people that he is healthy enough for the job". It is a no-win situation for the President.

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

Obviously, Trump is an absolute idiot and ignorant. To date, because the vaccine is not available, wearing mask is considered to be the most effective way to prevent Covid spreading from one person to the others. And yet, Trump totally ignored the safety of those who work for him, as well as those who support him.

USA deserves to have a better president than this. More than 210,000 people have died because of Trump's ignorance, stubbornness, and incompetency.

Enough is enough! Time for the right-minded GOP politicians and supporters to dispose of this idiot.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

And those who defend his incompetence and willful disregard of the safety of others in the midst of a pandemic show themselves for what they are.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

there is nothing to fear when an old, fat, orange guy who eats McDonalds and KFC, never exercises and is clinically obese can get corona and survive.

You omitted to mention the frequent testing to catch it quick, and the cost-not-an-issue medical care with a whole team of medical staff + not-available-to-the-general-public experimental drug regime.

Not what the majority of Americans enjoy access to. 30 million or so have access to no healthcare, unless they're an emergency case - which in the case of Covid, means it's already too late.

On the TV show Star Trek, anyone with a serious medical condition, and I am sure that includes taking powerful medication for it, would be relieved of command. It was often dragged out for the drama, but it got done. Apparently, a TV show is run better than the U.S. government. How many people is Trump going to infect before someone realizes they have to forcefully quarantine this clown? How much will he get to damage the country with crazy decisions before action is taken to stop him?

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Trump probably missed several parts when he said "Don't be afraid of COVID". What he meant was:

"Don't be afraid of COVID if you have unlimited access to doctors, experimental healthcare and lots of money." He's probably also thinking in his mind, "If you can't afford healthcare, then you're a loser." News for you Trump, that's over 200,000 who couldn't be in the same situation as you and paid with their lives!

He's tempting fate with his tweets again.

Let's see, he's taking steroids only given to seriously ill people and never given to anyone with mild symptoms.

He's tweeting steroid-induced happy talk about how good he feels. I felt like Superman too when I was hospitalized with serious pneumonia many years ago and given steroids. But it's short lived.

He's yet to reach the most crucial stage of Covid-19, which is 7-10 days after infection.

News flash to all you negative posters. The average age of ALL COVID deaths in the US is 74 -- the average live span of ALL Americans is 78. Guess what, we are all going to die; either old age or an illness. The MSM scares you in reporting some specific cases of young people who died BUT downplayed or did not report they had a comorbidity. like the Swedes, just get on with you life

Sweden, pop. 10.23 million, deaths 5895 ; 0.57 deaths per 100,000

Japan, pop. 126.5 million, deaths 1598; 0.013 deaths per 100,000

US, pop. 328.2 million deaths 210,000+; 0.639 deaths per 100,000

Seems greater numbers proportionally of Swedes andAmericans are not getting on with their lives any longer.

the average live span of ALL Americans is 78. Guess what, we are all going to die

'Average life span' doesn't mean everyone suddenly drops down dead on their 78th birthday.

A new-born baby has a life expectancy (in the US) of 76 for a boy, 80 for a girl.

A man who has reached the age of 78 has a life expectancy of nine and a half years more, a woman, a little over ten years.

Why should a healthy 78-year-old be expected to give up 10 years of his life just because some folk can't be bothered to take a few simple precautions?

you can chose to play politics democrat-party-style

I'm not playing politics any party style. To my European sensibilities, both your main parties are so far to the right it's not even a joke anymore.

It wasn't the Chinese or Nancy Pelosi who assured the US public that the pandemic was 'under control' when Americans were dropping like flies.

It wasn't the Chinese or Nancy Pelosi who claimed they'd 'done a great job'.

It wasn't the Chinese or Nancy Pelosi who insisted the people around him not wear face masks.

It wasn't the Chinese or Nancy Pelosi who held numerous ego-boosting rallies of thousands of people with no masks and no social distancing.

Where does the buck stop?

In the US, it stops (used to stop...) at the desk in the Oval Office.

Now it seems it just gets kicked around and never stops.

'I don't take responsibility at all.'
