Donald J. Trump, the self nominated “great disruptor” continues on his ego trip. He is a dangerous embarrassment and the main threat to U.S. national security and worl stability.

I can not get over how Trump sounds like a 2nd grader, every single time he talks!
yakyak
If his administration pulls this off, it will be a huge win for him and America.
Yubaru
Pipe dreams! All we have seen so far is a bunch of lies and speculation come from this president. His policies are hit and miss, and there has been no trade legislation that has positively affected the American people. Raising tariffs has hurt the American consumer and Trumps protectionist posture on trade and commerce are hurting everyone!
CrazyJoe
Since we have all seen by now what a worthless negotiator Trump is, we should be extremely worried when he meets to negotiate with any foreign leaders, especially our adversaries. Come on Republicans! Now is the time to come to the aid of your country.
When I read the headline of this article I literally started laughing. Good Lord help us all.

I expect this will be the same thing his whole NK and NAFTA debacles ended up being. He creates a problem, semi-fixes it, then claims credit for being a fixer.

Yeah, from the people that supported the Iran Nuclear deal, that’s rich. Now that’s hilarious!

When Trump supporters deflect, it's a pretty clear indication that once again they can't find a way to defend what he said/might have said/didn't mean/was misunderstood/flip-flopped on.
bass4funk
Democrats deflect and ignored the dangers of the Iranian, Syrian regimes, never take China or NK serious would rather undermine the President instead of trying to support him, you would almost think they were rooting for the enemy while when they were in office made false red line promises and disastrous deals that would put us and more importantly our allies in jeopardy.

It seems he is doing more for trade than Obama ever did. Lets just wait and see how this plays out.

Trump hysteria aside, on China Mr. President you’re getting it right. Leverage is the only language they understand.

Don’t meet with people who are smarter than you.

Fiction or Fact...you decide.

Predictions:
They will meet.
Trump will claim huuuuuge success because some soybeans got sold that were going to be sold already and barriers to US car companies will be lowered, but they still won't sell in China. No impact.
China will continue to steal intellectual property, unfairly arrest selected foreigners and demand local "helper" companies control foreign investments.
China will keep building up military on water features in the S. China Sea and extend their claims. I wouldn't be surprised if Trump ends all US freedom of navigation in the area with his new love-partner dictator, Xi.
The last 1+ yr of China trade impacts won't ever be recaptured.
I'm looking forward to a new photo/caricature with Pooh-bear and Donald Duck.

This is good for Japan and good for the US. Put the Trump hate to the side and just appreciate this.
David Varnes
Unfortunately, that leaves the list of people to meet with Cadet Bonespurs rather... small.
taj
What this, Joe? Nothing's happened yet. IF something gets agreed then we can appreciate the details. Until then, it's all hot air.

I hope Trump stays disciplined, which is his biggest weakness. I know it's de rigeur to criticize Trump - and there's much to criticize - but on China, he's right. China IS a trade cheat of unprecedented proportion and simultaneously flouts any international rule or protocol. If Trump pulls this off, it's about time someone called out China.

Heh. Meanwhile some non Americans say they envy us for our ability to elect Trump against all odds.
Sad times when the Chinese president is willing to make a deal and negotiate, and the lunatic psychopath Democrats refuse to make a deal on a wall on border security.
Serrano
@Yubaru From your link -
However, the US has never run a trade deficit with China that is above $337bn.
That's still way too much. We are finally dealing with China's unfair trade practices thanks to Trump.
Strangerland
Yeah, those three people are a little off.

This picture says it all, Trump angry faced , wagging a finger at China's representative, another media photo shows only two Chinese representing China and yet trump is surround by all his cabinet, all right wing white men. Trump does not understand this part of the world, or protocol or good manners. Finger wagging is insulting and not the correct way to address anyone from this part of Asia. If Trump thinks he is going to get everything he wants from a Chinese trade deal, showing anger and disrespect to the Chinese he is going to be disappointed.

Does anyone have info on how many resorts Trump's got lined up in China, maybe after he leaves office? Ivanka seems to be doing well there.

Does anybody have any info on how many more restaurants McD's are going to open in China?
Yeah! From a couple of days ago here on JT -
McDonald's plans to open 1,200 new restaurants globally in 2019. Nearly half of those will be in China.
So, yeah, I could go on all day with companies from all over the world expanding business in China. Who cares if Trump makes some money from business with China? He works hard at his current job for nothing.
