His petulance, pettiness, and idiocy is so obviously on display it is breathtaking. His is as smart as a peacock that preens for a hunter.

Thanks for compromising the Speaker's security, mr. president. Although to be fair, I doubt anyone in the West Wing understands the first thing about how trips to troops in war zones are put together.

15 ( +27 / -12 )

The man is so void of leadership.

It's not a game of marbles

14 ( +30 / -16 )

Trump went to Afghanistan during the shutdown.  Did the 800,000 great Americans not getting paid not matter then?

13 ( +21 / -8 )

Just sit back and think this out logically.

A House Democratic aide, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters that details of the trip were not supposed to be revealed for security reasons, as is customary. The White House, however, made the letter to Pelosi detailing the itinerary public

Pelosi did not endanger the president by asking him to delay his state of the union from the Capitol , he can still do it from the white house safely.

Rather, trump endangers members of congress by publicly releasing undisclosed plans about members of congress, which includes the Speaker of the House (the second in line to the president) visiting a war zone.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

A congressperson losing the ability to fly on military aircraft pales in comparison to a president not being invited to give the SOTU.

Yeah, Trump really stuck it to Pelosi.

9 ( +20 / -11 )

If you think that was Karma... lol. Nancy denying Trump the chance to speak is like her horking up a nice gooey spit wad on his face. While his "retaliation" is more like, "oh yea, no TV privileges for you. hA! how like that?" Plus cut out the fake guilt trip. Overseas travel and "poor workers not getting paid"... let's not forget that this was not an uncontrollable circumstance and that Trump is the one shutting down the government. I'm sure, all those "poor workers without pay" is not getting in the way of Trump enjoying his rounds of golf and good meals.

9 ( +13 / -4 )

Just when I think this imbecile can't do anything more to show the world what a two-year old he is, he surprises us again.

This guy hates America - he shuts down the government endangering our air and sea ports, aviation security and food safety - all because Ingram, Malkin and Limbaugh humiliated him.

Now he won't let the Speaker of the House engage in diplomacy with our allies.  While he pulls out of Syria and ISIS rebuilds.

He's doing everything Putin tells him to do - I always thought he was just a failed TV reality host - a clown - but as one of his senior staff said about him, he's a real danger to the republic.

7 ( +14 / -7 )

Hey, where is McConnell? The House has passed several bills to reopen government, yet McConnell refuses to allow a vote on any in the Senate.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

I think all politicians should fly cattle class, stand in TSA lines, and eat nothing but fast food. They shouldn't have high class health care for life and they shouldn't have paychecks until the shutdown is over.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Once upon a time (not even that long ago), America had good leaders. All they have now are mostly petty partisan polticians with large egos and no solutions.

@Mocheake.

The good leadership is there. And trust when I say it is coming. The issue is the wrong leadership is currently elected and in office. There are some seriously good leaders and pepole waiting to step up soon.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

I get it Chip Star personally I cant stand Trump but do you really think she should be flying around the world while all those workers are not being paid?I

No, she shouldn't. No mber of congress should be paid during any shutdown.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

This is just going to keep happening. He's not going to give in and dumb stunts like this are just going to escalate.

I've said it before, just give him the damn money so the country can get back to work and then come up with a candidate that has a chance at beating him in 2020. Nancy, you think you're going to win, but you're in a staring contest against a person with no eyelids.

6 ( +15 / -9 )

To be fair Trump just cancelled the trip to Davos, so it's not all about Pelosi.

But that probably means Trump is taking the shutdown to a new level, most likely looking at ways to damage other parts of the country.

I predicted he would go scorched earth, and it looks like it's starting. The question is if adding to the collateral damage will shift the blame to the Democrats and off of Trump. I'm better it will make it worse for him.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Oh america, the country that would currently struggle to "organize a piss up in a brewery" as the saying goes.

The world goes on despite the US's current domestic nonsense, so cancelling international diplomatic meetings doesn't really make a lot of sense.

Its like a bunch of petulant school children arguing about who's Dad would win in a fight.

Although they would never say publicly, surely the Trump diehard supporters must be having some doubts now. One example of many examples of someone who isn't the right person.

Wall is key word to remember to talk about immigration.

Wall turns into actual wall, which unbelievably Trump claims another country is going to pay for.

GOP has majority in Senate and House, no wall.

Trump starts to realize the claim another country would pay for a wall is nonsense, starts saying well they will "pay" through renegotiated trade terms.

Dems have good mid-term

Suddenly wall is a must do immediate critical crisis.

"Ok maybe not wall, fence, and just some parts etc etc.."

" but Illegals, Drugs etc etc" all easily debunked.

Its comical. and sad.

6 ( +10 / -4 )

Y'all hear the big news about Giuliani?

"I never said never said there was no collusion."

Yeah, he did. Many times. As did Trumpy.

Whaddya think? I think it's kinda obvious: there was 'collusion.' [The crime is called conspiracy, btw] And good ol' Guilinani knows that's about to come out.

Which means quite a lot. We've been hearing for the last year and a half "No Collusion"/NothingBurger and the investigation is a 'witch hunt." Guiliani just vindicated the core purpose of Mueller's investigation.

And that means he vindicated all that flowed from the core purpose: the expansion of the investigation under Rosentein, and looking into the campaign.

So, surprise, all the talk about 'Spygate', and Mueller being out of control .. Poof!

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Hey, where is McConnell? The House has passed several bills to reopen government, yet McConnell refuses to allow a vote on any in the Senate.

Like most every other Republican, he was humiliated.  Humiliated when the White House said they'd support the funding bill he and all the other Republicans voted for - then Trump flip-flopped when he was humiliated by Ingram and Limbaugh.

Humiliation - it's  Republican thing...

Where is the wall funding?

Jan 2017:  Trump, McConnell, Ryan; where is the wall funding?

Jan 2018:  Trump, McConnell, Ryan; where is the wall funding?

Dec 2018:  Trump, McConnell, Ryan; where is the wall funding?

The world goes on despite the US's current domestic nonsense, so cancelling international diplomatic meetings doesn't really make a lot of sense.

Its like a bunch of petulant school children arguing about who's Dad would win in a fight.

Just what Putin wanted - and got...

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Superlib: Makes no sense. I mean I get the snub of Pelosi because that's just Trump's pettiness, but The Davos delegation was Trump's people, Mnuchin, Pompeo, and Ross. Now we won't have a voice there.

bass: And?

I don't see the link between hurting America's global economic interests and getting Pelosi and Schumer to agree to Trump's new demands.

Pelosi refuses to pay a cent for the wall, the President should equally keep his knee on the Democrats necks.

Trump is getting blamed by a wide margin. And he went on national TV and took credit for the shutdown. If you want to tell me that that's a position of strength, I can't stop you. It's a free country.

superlib: Before the shutdown I said I was worried that Trump would go scorched earth so bad that the Democrats have to cave just to stop innocent people from being seriously damaged. I really hope this isn't the first step in that direction because sooner or later he's going to start targeting groups of Americans.

bass: Probably.

Who do you think he will go after next? And will you support him if he intentionally creates more damage?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

@wolfpack

What are you talking about? Dems offered a compromise deal. Multiple times. Trump said no, multiple times. No compromise, that's Trump. He's the one who won't budge on 5.7 billion for a wall. He won't accept a 2.5 billion wall funding with 1.6 billion for tech/agents. They've already something like tried this, and trump said he'd veto it...which is why Mcconnell won't do anything. Needs to keep himself in Trump's graces for his own re-election in 2020. I guess he's banking on Trump staying in office.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Think of all of those military men and women in Afghanistan not having go to attend a "mandatory formation" to listen to a group of politicians who hate them and those foreign leaders/dignitaries who sighing with relief.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

Congress is a branch of government equal to the presidency. McConnell caving to the presidency is a dereliction of duty. Allow the vote and let the people have their say.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Definitely petty. I wouldn't expect anything less.

OTOH, the President bought pizza and McDs for guests earlier this week for White House guests.

Elections have consequences.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Petty stuff, indeed. But that's what to expect from an impotent little despot. It will keep the dwindling fanbase happy and delight Putin loyalists who are only too happy to see the country implode.

Meanwhile, workers are struggling to get their medicines and some have to resort to foodbanks. Trump's hamberders in the White House sums up the madness of his Presidency and the gulf between the elite and the proletariat.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

bass: Not country, bringing in Pelosi and Chuck for talks

Makes no sense. I mean I get the snub of Pelosi because that's just Trump's pettiness, but The Davos delegation was Trump's people, Mnuchin, Pompeo, and Ross. Now we won't have a voice there. I don't see the link between hurting America's global economic interests and getting Pelosi and Schumer to agree to Trump's new demands. Can you explain that to me?

The only thing I can think of is that Trump wants to create damage for the purpose of releasing statements that blame Pelosi for it. So maybe tomorrow he cancels a meeting on global health all so he can say, "Sorry, can't make it because of Pelosi."

I also don't see how this is a winning strategy for Trump. He's getting blamed, along with the GOP, nearly 2 to 1 compared to Democrats. Will actions such as this get people to stop blaming Trump and start blaming Democrats? I just don't see that happening.

Before the shutdown I said I was worried that Trump would go scorched earth so bad that the Democrats have to cave just to stop innocent people from being seriously damaged. I really hope this isn't the first step in that direction because sooner or later he's going to start targeting groups of Americans.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Awww... the poor orange clown's ego was bruised by Pelosi with his ego-mania not being satisfied over the SOTU speech, so as usual he engages in primary school retorts and replies. The woman is far smarter than him, so if that's the game he wants to play then I'm very sure the next move will send him into further temper tantrums and cries about how unfair it is.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

Why does she needed to fly all the way to Brussels to "reaffirm US commitment to NATO"??  Videoconference?  Telephone call?  what exactly does this mean coming from her?

4 ( +7 / -3 )

@mocheake

Yea, try to have faith. I think there are good people on both sides of the political spectrum. Though I find it very difficult for me to ever 100% support the GOP until they start working on smarter gun control and lose their religious stance they hold on many ideals.

Unfortunately for now, the only option I have is to support the people opposing the ideals I fear will turn America into an even more xenophobic country with no culture, backbone, or respect.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Been channel surfing the liberal cabal cable "news" outlets all night watching the full-on head exploding being broadcast over the democrats being grounded by our POTUS while enroute to their government plane for a tax payer funded PR junket. Absolutely hilarious to watch. The fact that the dems and their enablers within the DNC media industrial complex are sooo mad shows that President Trump made the right decision.

Not only do we get a conspiracy theory, we get to see how Trump supporters determine success, which is by angering others. Sophisticated.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Not country, bringing in Pelosi and Chuck for talks, but remember, the Dems are damaging the country as well. They could end this and they could support the wall.

The president could end his shutdown by supporting effective policy instead of pandering to his uber-ignorant base and scared out of their minds conservatives.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

So The Speaker of the House can't use military planes to fly to Afganistan during the shut down, but the President did (to Afganistan) during the shut down and the First Lady did (to Florida) just hours after Trump said no military flights.

So,... what are the rules?

At any rate, no one should be pre-announcing another political figure's flight plans to a war zone. That just puts everyone in danger.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Deadforgood

Don't forg: Melania Trump flew to Florida for vacation on a U.S. Military plane on the same day Trumpy blocked Speaker Pelosi from using a U.S. Military plane to visit U.S. troops in Afghanistan.

Real patriots these guys.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

@wolfpack

It wasn't a limo, it was an air force bus.

Why would she cave, she's already missed the flight. Not like inviting Trump is going to change that. You do understand what's going on, no?

3 ( +6 / -3 )

OK, so Pelosi doesn't get to fly. She'll get over it. The bigger thing is the man-child not getting his SOTU address. He has a big ego and this will make him fold his arms again and cry.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

@wakarimasen

Good point.

Why does Trump need to give his speech at the U.S. capitol? Written Report?

Why does any politician need to go anywhere outside their office for these meetings then? Why are you only singling her out?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Superlib: I don't see the link between hurting America's global economic interests and getting Pelosi and Schumer to agree to Trump's new demands.

Bass: You don’t see the link of hurting America’s National Security along the Southern border

What I said was I don’t see a link with Trump denying himself a voice in Davos with Pelosi signing off on a wall. Can you explain the benefit to me? Feel free to add in any side points after.

Bass: And likewise the Democrats are starting to get more pressure from the constituents to do something

I have my ear pretty close to the ground when it comes what Democrats are thinking as I’m a Democrat. You are saying that Democrats are pressuring Pelosi to give Trump his wall? No law against saying that.

Superlib: Who do you think he will go after next? And will you support him if he intentionally creates more damage?

Yup.

Are you concerned that he chooses a group close to you for his next bombing run?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Trump gets 2.5 billion for barrier. It's called compromise. Dems should try it sometime. It's how democracy works.

Trump never stated anything less than $5.6 billion he hasnt comprimised on anything thats not how democracy works

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Trump directed Cohen to lie to Congress. That's called supborning perjury.

Nixon got impeached for that.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

From things getting out of hand from a simple issue to this "weird" action by Pelosi... certainly casts doubt as to her priority and her mental state in her position within the government. It is becoming more and more obvious that we the people are "not" her concern...

Chis as with Xi and Park, rhetoric and action does "not" match but in her case it does not indicate any rational thought... "scary"... to have such a person in our Federal government...

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Hm. Let's see. Trump is stuck between a rock and hard place. He can't compromise on his big beautiful wall, 'cause his stupid base will hate him for it. They love the wall.

Uhh, I am a Democrat and I am 100 percent for a wall. A very important issue that has been pushed aside for to long. Believe it or not , there are Democrats that support a wall.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

It's not about Trump supporters.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

onedragon

I stand corrected:

"But, sadly for Trump, he can't force the Democrats to give in, 'cause no one other than Trump's fan boys and one guy who posts on Japan today thinks the wall is anything but a stupid idea and a waste of tax payer money.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

What this report doesn't tell you is, Pelosi wanted to take 7 of her key members and their families, for a total of 93 people, all on the tax payer's dime!

Well done Trump! I love hearing liberal heads explode!

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Petty, but hilarious. Would love to see her reaction when she found out.

2 ( +12 / -10 )

Pelosi is more concerned with Afghanistan security than she is concerned about the security of U.S. voters. If Pelosi wants to visit Afghanistan, instead of solving the government shutdown issue in the U.S., she is certainly in a position to pay for everyone to go. She's worth over $50 million USD. If it's really that important to her.

And using your logic Trump can liquidate a few of his golf courses and pay for the wall rather than endangering the security of all Americans...  Go on Donnie, show us you "really" want the wall...

Or another suggestion - call his bud Vlad.  Vlad will help him out, just like he did during the election.

"Vlad, buddy, I need some more help - can you spot me a few billion so I can build this symbolic wall Ingram, Malkin and Limbaugh are on my __ about?

We'll make it worth your while - remember that $10 million penthouse we were going to build for you - I'll make it now $50 million - and I'll refurbish your dacha...

I'll invite you to the border when it's built and we can dedicate it together - we'll call it the "Trump-Putin Memorial Symbolic Wall" - funded by the same folks that built the Berlin Wall - we know how to make walls..."

2 ( +4 / -2 )

I hope he gives it on the border.

The one without the wall? Oh that's right. Neither of them have one.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Been channel surfing the liberal cabal cable "news" outlets all night watching the full-on head exploding being broadcast over the democrats being grounded by our POTUS while enroute to their government plane for a tax payer funded PR junket. Absolutely hilarious to watch. The fact that the dems and their enablers within the DNC media industrial complex are sooo mad shows that President Trump made the right decision.

I'm not sure how to take you seriously anymore...No liberals I know are "sooo mad" and the fact that you think angering other American's is the right decision for the president to make is an immature way of thinking that doesn't solve anything. Also the fact that you get off channel surfing liberal cable till sunrise is a little strange too. I imagine most productive people would have something better to do than watch the same thing all night. Like sleep, or watch something else, or go out with friends.

@blacklabel

You're a little late to the conversation...

Hasn't Trump been using military aircraft to travel around the world during the shutdown as well. Shouldn't he be required to stay in Washington as well to solve the shutdown?

2 ( +6 / -4 )

@black sabbath

Yea but the trump supporters will argue that she doesn't need to be in Washington so she can use military aircraft. Which makes no sense to me, especially when they also claim Pelosi should be flying economy on Delta to visit troops in Afghanistan. Why doesn't Melania fly Economy on Delta. I doubt she ever has.

Does Delta even fly to Afghanistan? I have my doubts, anyone care to look that up?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

8TToday

The left have gone so far left that soon they will go back to the right.

That's a bit of a generalization. You could also argue that about the right but that wouldn't be true either.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

The excuse given was that Pelosi shouldn't be spending time and money on this trip. But according to President Swamp it's OK to go "commercial", which would take longer away and cost more, as well as being a lot less secure. So clearly the only real reason for stopping her was spite. Also he falsely claimed she was stopping in Egypt, falsely described the trip as a publicity stunt and a week-long excursion, and ignored the necessary stop in Brussels for refuelling and crew rest, good use of which would have been made by a call to NATO HQ. Almost every word of his message was untrue, as usual.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Instant karma, on steroids.

Being told that you can't fly to Afghanistan sounds like a lottery win to me. In terms of karma, she must have done very good things to get this piece of good fortune.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Hit a nerve with the mango. No prime time SoTu platform vs. no excursion to Europe...

2 ( +3 / -1 )

yet POTUS arent meant to profit from their presidencies.

Open your eyes, my friend. This person made his billions before he became president. He'd be living large without being president. Anyway he doesn't take a salary, all donated to charity. Appreciate that at least.

His vanquished opponent would have grabbed a salary and much more for her pay-to-play "foundation", and given her daughter another $300k job from her sycophants.

you havent figured that out by now its doubtful you ever will. This coming from a person who neither supports Dems or Republicans , but knows stupid when I see it, as do the majority of Americans

That's your opinion whatever your purported political inclination is.

But the majority of real Americans, us, the deplorables, many of whom are much smarter than you, I guarantee, would prefer to disagree.

Vote your opinion. If you lose, accept defeat.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Doesn’t trump expect more from NATO or even thinks it’s better to withdraw from it all together ? If so how does pelosi flying there on my dime work ? As to any security briefing don’t they have secure video conferencing? Fluff anti trump piece rather like most news these days .

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Also,

Two years of anything accomplished, is going down the drain. His so called "200 accomplishments" are going to start floating away.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

@serrano

How will he give it if he's not invited? He clearly can't write his thoughts out well enough to make an impact in a written report, and he can't give the SOTU at the border because it wouldn't be before a joint session of congress...Do you know what the SOTU is?

Should Trump fly Delta too? In Economy?

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Once upon a time (not even that long ago), America had good leaders. All they have now are mostly petty partisan polticians with large egos and no solutions.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Loving it - DT is the man, Now Nancy get your act together pass the funding for the wall including the funding of government departments in the shut down.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

bass: Trump was never a fan of Europe and doesn’t feel the need or even the urgency to speak at Davos.

Superlib: Ah, so the reason he gave blaming Pelosi for the delegation not attending was really a cover for Trump not wanting to be there.

Bass: How would you know what’d in his heart or head?

Good point. I guess I can’t say he doesn’t like Europe and doesn’t want to be there since I don’t know what’s in his head.

Superlib: Why doesn't Trump just say he doesn't want to be there? And what benefit does he get by linking a false narrative about Pelosi and the wall?

Bass: Not sure.

Yeah, I guess it’s confusing for both of us. Maybe there is some benefit you are missing.

Superlib: I understand. You know that the Democrats want her to cave and accept Trump's terms. So not only is she against Trump, she's against her own people. No law against saying that.

Bass: If the tactic can work for one party.....

Then it works for the other? Trump’s people want him to cave?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

The Democrats shouldn't be too fussed. Preventing Pelosi from using military transport for a fairly routine overseas trip isn't nearly as monumental as her stopping Trump from making the SOTU address in Congress. It just looks as if Trump can't hit back very hard.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

President Trump took care of Nancy New York style! This is payback, so get used to it!!!

1 ( +5 / -4 )

With other government workers suffering, it's only fair to ask government officials to tighten their belts as well and stay until there's possibly a deal

But that also includes the administration, so that means Trump has to stay too and not leave for one of his golf resorts

It's also fair to ask the State of the Union address to be postponed - not cancelled, just postponed. With government workers already being asked to work but not getting paid, it's not fair to ask them to work even more and still not get paid, working on the influx of people that the State of the Union address would bring

However, Trump should not have publicized where Pelosi was going, because some of those places are dangerous and high security risk. The Speaker of the House is 3rd in line on the US Head of State behind the President and Vice President, so now she won't be able to go there, or if she eventually does --now that possible assassins have an idea the places she wants to visit-- it'd be even higher security risk and complicate the work of the security agents. That's just irresponsible

My math is not great but I am sure that the cost of the shutdown will pale in comparison to the cost for the wall.

"The Government Shutdown Just Became More Costly Than Trump’s Border Wall"

https://www.barrons.com/articles/government-shutdown-cost-51547665457

and why are 800,000 people’s livelihoods affected by any of this political pissing contest.

Much of government workers and people in the business of doing business with the government are not getting paid right now. They're not getting any income from the government until the shutdown ends - yet bills still have to paid right now

It's also affecting the economy:

https://www.businessinsider.com/government-shutdown-gdp-consumer-spending-us-economic-impact-2019-1

"Most economists agree that the government shutdown will weigh on US economic growth."

"But according to one economist, if President Donald Trump follows through on his threat to keep the government closed for "months," the hit could be severe."

"Pantheon Macroeconomics' Ian Shepherdson said if the shutdown lasts through March, then the US' first-quarter GDP could be negative."

"While the prediction is a worst-case scenario, it highlights the dangers of a long-term shutdown."

1 ( +2 / -1 )

How low does Trump need to go before the dingbat crowd dumps him. Being a traitor to his country was not enough, committing 5000 lies over the last two years, no not enough, bankrupting the US budget, no still not enough. Not getting a wall build after republicans dodged him on it for two years. Yes. Can there be a better definition of stupidity than this.

Trump will resign or be impeached. This is coming and all people with a IQ over room temperature knows this. But the blind boys will follow Trump down the drain. It is what they all deserve.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Hours after President Donald Trump abruptly canceled House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s flight on a military aircraft to visit troops in Afghanistan with a congressional delegation, Melania Trump jetted down to Mar-a-Lago in Florida for vacation — on an Air Force plane.

The first lady boarded the military jet on Thursday at Andrews Air Force Base, NBC and other media outlets reported. Quartz estimated the cost of the vacation flight at $35,000.

https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/melania-trump-jets-mar-lago-083716925.html

So, how is it fair that House Speaker Pelosi is denied a flight to visit troops in Afghanistan, but Melania is allowed to spend 35,000 dollars in American tax payer's money to fly to Florida to work on her tan?

Sounds so much like an abuse of power by Trump to me. Not that much different than what Trump's buddies Kim Jong and Putin would do.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Whether you agree with Trump's policy of building a wall or not, you cannot deny that this was a central plank in his election campaign, and that he won the election.

Therefore, it logically follows that if you believe in democracy you should agree that he has the absolute right to build his wall, as this is what the people voted for.

To obstruct the wall is politically and morally illegitimate and indefensible. The Democrats should be universally and unreservedly condemned for their undemocratic stance.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

No politician should be jet setting around the world anywhere while all those workers are not being paid.

yet Secretary of State Pompeo did just that and brought his wife alone for a free ride.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

There is good news. We've found the parts of the govt which aren't essential. Cuts? Looks like the FCC can easily be gutted with few problems. All those military flights for congress aren't necessary. We can keep going.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

What this report doesn't tell you is, Pelosi wanted to take 7 of her key members and their families, for a total of 93 people, all on the tax payer's dime.

Until he pulled the pilots keys. ROFL!

1 ( +3 / -2 )

But he’s the President, he can do it, just like Pelosi doesn’t want him to give his SOTU in her House, she’s allowed to do that as well.

Yeah, I guess you're right. I'll remember that the next time Obama haters talk the same kind of trash about him, because he had the same right.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Trump stops Pelosi from using military plane for overseas trip in shutdown fight

Pelosi still has the option of flying at her own expense. Or she, and her minions, could actually stay in Washington, DC and take the time to reach a compromise with the Republicans. Or the Democrats could, once again, claim that the President won't work with them at the same time they chose not to attend a meeting called by the President to discuss the shut down issues.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Pelosi should fly United, economy, to Egypt then transfer to Air Broom.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Why? She’s not part of Congress, she can do what she wants, she doesn’t have to worry about re-opening the government. So she can go where she wants. If she were part of Congress and working in the White House to make policy as a congress member, then I can understand that point, but she’s not so it’s OK.

They are both acting like children but I have to say, Trump's the antagonist in this situation. He could have used the opportunity to be humble, not retaliate with an "eye for an eye" tactic. The shutdown does no good to either party, it's not going to get Trump his wall, and it's not going to get democrats any support from Trump's base. They have already shown their willingness to give their own money for his wall, so not receiving pay and losing their jobs is just another way of "sticking it to Pelosi" as some of you say. Anyone that thinks that is a positive way to structure your political bias, and show your support for your country is a complete imbecile. Keep walking backwards.

What we can say for sure is the longer it goes on, the worse the economy during Trump's presidency will become. If it continues to drag out longer, we will probably begin to see a recession or, even worse, another depression. Trump probably doesn't want that on his hands...It doesn't really matter where the blame is placed ultimately, because as the president, his duty is to protect, serve, and "make America great again". Failure is coming. It's Trump's presidency, it's Trump's shutdown, and it's Trump's failure. You can't put that on anybody else. I know some of you will say, "oh, but its the dems fault. They could re-open government. Just give Trump the funding". This is the worst lazy excuse I've heard in ages...As the president is supposed to lead the country, find common ground, and make the country stronger. He's only torn it further apart.

bass: Its not that difficult, Trump was never a fan of Europe and doesn’t feel the need or even the urgency to speak at Davos. None.

Ah, so the reason he gave blaming Pelosi for the delegation not attending was really a cover for Trump not wanting to be there. Why doesn't Trump just say he doesn't want to be there? And what benefit does he get by linking a false narrative about Pelosi and the wall?

bass: In some wanting to make a deal, she won’t allow that to happen....too bad.

I understand. You know that the Democrats want her to cave and accept Trump's terms. So not only is she against Trump, she's against her own people.

No law against saying that.

superlib: Are you concerned that he chooses a group close to you for his next bombing run?

bass: Nope.

That's good for Trump. It gives him more latitude for collateral damage.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

The man is so void of leadership.

It's not a game of marbles

He wouldn't be able to play if it was. He doesn't have any.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Hm. Let's see. Trump is stuck between a rock and hard place. He can't compromise on his big beautiful wall, 'cause his stupid base will hate him for it. They love the wall. But, sadly for Trump, he can't force the Democrats to give in, 'cause no one other than Trump's fan boys thinks the wall is anything but a stupid idea and a waste of tax payer money. So he picked a fight he couldn't win, said he's own it, and now can't go forward or backward. Sad.

So, Pelosi -- who can read polls as good as we can -- decides to start turning the screws: Take away Trump speech to Congress for the State of the Union. A great chance for Trump to berate Dems on their turf in the House with all the pomp and circumstance our system has. Poof! It's gone. BFD.

So, Trump makes some Pelosi and some others get off a bus, and shows the tape of it on Fox. Winning!

8TToday 03:31 pm JST

The left have gone so far left that soon they will go back to the right.

And that profound declaration relates to the topic of this article how, precisely?

0 ( +3 / -3 )

The toddler in chief has spoken. This trip wasn't public because of security risks.

By the way, Twitler, guess who holds the purse strings to the executive branch? You can still go on diplomatic trips, but your rallies and golf trips?

Too bad, so sad...

Nancy really gets under his skin, doesn't she. Is that the best he can do?

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Oh, well, two more years, and then the indictments against him can go to trial.

What indictments? And why wait two more years? Get Mueller on this already! Wait, he's been on it for 2 years already - what gives?!

Trump is playing 4D chess while Pelosi, Schumer and the rest of the Democrats are playing checkers:

Dear Madame Speaker:

Due to the Shutdown, I am sorry to inform you that your trip to Brussels, Egypt, and Afghanistan has been postponed. We will reschedule this seven-day excursion when the Shutdown is over. In light of the 800,000 great American workers not receiving pay, I am sure you would agree that postponing this public relations event is totally appropriate. I also feel that, during this period, it would be better if you were in Washington negotiating with me and joining the Strong Border Security movement to end the Shutdown. Obviously, if you would like to make your journey by flying commercial, that would certainly be your prerogative.

I look forward to seeing you soon and even more forward to watching our open and dangerous Southern Border finally receive the attention, funding, and security it so desperately deserves!

Sincerely,

Donald Trump

As long as Pelosi doesn’t take an lcc then she’ll be fine....

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Lol! If anyone is fascist it’s the socialist Democrats

Default nonsensical answer.

that want to fundamentally change the county and turn it into another Valenzuela.

There's no such country. Meanwhile, how do you feel about Trump's clampdown on US democracy?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

My math is not great but I am sure that the cost of the shutdown will pale in comparison to the cost for the wall.

wouldn't it be nice if they could Hire more people and get some high quality equipment to strengthen the security of the border?

and why are 800,000 people’s livelihoods affected by any of this political pissing contest.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

President Trump took care of Nancy New York style!

Did he get into a hissy fit on Twitter and tell his followers to check out a non-existent sex tape?

You owe the fine people of New York an apology.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

She has had more than enough free travel for her family and friends.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

President Trump took care of Nancy New York style! This is payback, so get used to it!!!

Nobody cares. Most people on both sides are still saying she shouldn't have been making the trip during the shutdown.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Yes, the truth is very convenient for those of us who believe in it but not those who subvert it.

The truth is far more simple. It's crystal clear and cannot be subverted.

We do not want America to be fundamentally changed into a socialist, nanny state. Trump, not the most conventional candidate, was pitted against a radical leftist, pay-for-play politician.

We won!

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Been channel surfing the liberal cabal cable "news" outlets all night watching the full-on head exploding being broadcast over the democrats being grounded by our POTUS while enroute to their government plane for a tax payer funded PR junket. Absolutely hilarious to watch. The fact that the dems and their enablers within the DNC media industrial complex are sooo mad shows that President Trump made the right decision.

Sounded a bit unlikely so have done a bit of research online:

CNN reports:

"All too often in the last two years, the President has acted like he's in the fifth grade. And to have someone who has that kind of character running the country is an enormous problem at every level," said Rep. Adam Schiff, the House Intelligence Committee chairman who had been due to travel with the speaker.

and

Trump has expressed confusion at why his attempts to pressure Democrats for border wall funding have yielded no progress. Meanwhile, some of his advisers worry the mounting consequences for unpaid federal workers could further erode support for Trump's cause.

No heads exploding!

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Deflection. Topic is Pelosi. Did ya call see her $100,000 taxpayer funded alcohol bill?

Pelosi can fly commercial. Melania cant because of insane leftists. By the way Trump owns a golf course of two.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Delicious. We have to actually explain that airplanes can fly over walls.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Doesn’t Pelosi have her own private plane?

She is certainly wealthy enough to have one at least....

0 ( +2 / -2 )

By the way Trump owns a golf course of two.

yep which he profits off by charging the American taxpayer for him and his entourage to stay there

0 ( +1 / -1 )

unlike Pelosi he doesn't take a paycheck, lol.

oh please Trump has made millions for charging the American taxpayer for him to stay at his own resorts, far more than the $400,000 presidential salary would cover.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

yep which he profits off by charging the American taxpayer for him and his entourage to stay there

A legitimate enterprise, you should add, before he became president, on which he risked millions and generated jobs.

Compare Trump with a community organizer who risked not a single cent of his own cash and didn't create a single job - a taker of American tax money who exacerbated the partisan divide.

Why all the hatred, wtfjapan?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

"In light of the 800,000 great American workers not receiving pay, I am sure you would agree that postponing this public relations event is totally appropriate," Trump wrote.

Yeah, Trump, you should tell that to your own wife. She shouldn't be allowed to take a military plane to fly to Florida for a vacation. I highly doubt her trip to Florida, paid with taxpayer's money, is part of her job requirement. What sort of job does she have to do in Florida?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Yeah, Trump, you should tell that to your own wife. She shouldn't be allowed to take a military plane to fly to Florida for a vacation.

But he’s the President, he can do it, just like Pelosi doesn’t want him to give his SOTU in her House, she’s allowed to do that as well.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

I have to love this as the two fight. Where will it end? Are they really both that self important? Yeah, don't answer that.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Tit for tat "equivalent retaliation".

You ever get the feeling that Trump hates being one upped?

Well Nancy. You did start this one. I do not blame the President for what he did. But I feel like I am watching some made for TV drama. Really stupid at the end the of day. Petty on so many levels. Palm to face.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Trump providing information to everyone, including the Taliban, about the congressional delegation plan to visit Afghanistan!!!!

Childish, petty does not even describe this stupid act.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

@ Black Sabbath, I support a wall or barrier of some type.So I guess it is now TWO guys.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

I think you'd be listed under Trump fan boy, so take it back to one.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

His goal seems to be to Make Russia Great Again, and he aims to do it by tearing down the USA. Oh, well, two more years, and then the indictments against him can go to trial.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

To tell the truth Trump should not have denied the military plane trip to Brussels, he should have just canceled the return trip.

Indeed, de Gaulle managed to take on the fascists during his exile in London. So Pelosi could do the same against the fascist Trump administration and help restore democracy to the USA.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Trips require the approval of the “President”. So as that, he can approve his own. He took a one day trip to see the troops as commander in Chief. Except that he had been in the WH while Dems on the beach in Hawaii and Puerto Rico. They had another recess scheduled for next 2 weeks so these people ever work?

Is Pelosi the President or the Commander in Chief?

Nope! Denied. She had no reason to visit our military as she has nothing to do with them.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

runaway liberalism of those cloaked radical haters of America and champions of illegal immigration

Liberalism does not equal radicalism. Please read up on politics. And being opposed to authoritarianism doesn't mean one hates America, Zimbabwe, The Philippines, Russia or any of the other dictatorships or neo-dictatorships.

Rather, it means one hates that the countries have fallen into such dark times.

Start with grounding the Pelosis.

That statement is the exact language of despots and their cheerleaders. Thus, the concerns of aforementioned authoritarianism are justified.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Meanwhile, how do you feel about Trump's clampdown on US democracy?

I feel 100 times magnified anger towards the Democrats hostage seizure of the US democracy.

Liberalism does not equal radicalism.

It didn’t a very long time ago, but now it does. YouTube has 100 of videos supporting this. Socialists and authoritarian all rolled up into one dangerous package.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Liberalism does not equal radicalism. Please read up on politics.

How convenient!

Oh, the euphemisms abound. It's "progressives" in vogue, even so-called Scandinavian socialism to make it more palatable.

In essence, the "fundamental transformation of America" as advocated by Alinsky disciples - the Obamas, Clintons and their cohorts, can't be called for what it is to deceive the American people. They still need their votes.

Be forthcoming. Call the ideology for what it is - Far Left, Communist, Marxist, Maoist. But nobody would vote for commies.

So, rather, it's anything but - to hang on to power - even to the extent of advocating illegal aliens and non-citizens to vote. Open borders, huh?

The end justifies the means. Sounds familiar to you?

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

.@SpeakerPelosi

used the Air Force aircraft for a total of 85 trips, covering 206,264 miles, from March 2, 2009 through June 7, 2010. Pelosi, her guests and Air Force personnel logged a total of 428.6 hours on these flights.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Trump will resign or be impeached.

I can tell you for a fact he won’t resign and if he gets impeached, the Dems will never get the 2/3 votes necessary to remove him, the Republicans would never slit their own throats.

This is coming and all people with a IQ over room temperature knows this.

Liberals?

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

I can tell you for a fact he won’t resign

No, you can’t.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Yes, I can. Trump is not that type.I know that’s what the left want, but that won’t happe

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

She has had more than enough free travel for her family and friends.

oh you mean by the most golf trips ever by a sitting POTUS, going to Mar Largo resort which Trump owns, Trumps spent 153 of his first 590 days in office at a resort he owned. all paid for by the taxpayer. all labeled working holidays, lol

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Therefore, it logically follows that if you believe in democracy you should agree that he has the absolute right to build his wall, as this is what the people voted for.

firstly the majority or American people didnt vote for his wall and he doesnt have the majority support to build it, Election promises still have to get approval through the house and senate, America is still a democracy and not a dictatorship run by one person. Being a leader of a democratic country doesnt mean you get everything you want, even if you have the majority support of the American people . Obama won the popular support of Americans yet the Republican denied him his policies any chance they could.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

A legitimate enterprise, you should add, before he became president, on which he risked millions and generated jobs.

yet POTUS arent meant to profit from their presidencies. Trump could support a multitude of other" legitimate enterprise" yet he prefer to use his own and profit off the American taxpayer.

Why all the hatred, wtfjapan?

if you havent figured that out by now its doubtful you ever will. This coming from a person who neither supports Dems or Republicans , but knows stupid when I see it, as do the majority of Americans

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

CNBC reports First Lady just flown to Florida for vacation on Air Force jet, AFTER, cancelled Pelosi trip???????? This is unbelievable?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

I am no fan of Trump and I am quite sure he did this for the wrong reason (more like a childish retaliation than out of cost concerns) but I think they should all be prevented from taking these trips as long as the shut down is going on, including the President's trips south to Florida. They should all be required to remain in Washington until they sort this out as we have people working and not receiving paychecks which is wrong.

Trump created a mess and backed himself into a corner with this foolish move. On the other hand I agree Pelosi (and any other members of Congress or the Senate) should not be flying now.

This shutdown is a bad deal for all

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

The toddler in chief has spoken. This trip wasn't public because of security risks.

No, you guys are just angry because Nancy got checked mate. Lol

By the way, Twitler, guess who holds the purse strings to the executive branch? You can still go on diplomatic trips, but your rallies and golf trips?

Too bad, so sad...

Nancy really gets under his skin, doesn't she. Is that the best he can do?

Oh, please speaking of the three branches, where does Nancy get off thinking she can tell Trump he’s not invited to the House chambers and thinking she can skate and think Trump can block her from using his powers of authority to stop her from taking a government funded flight? The woman is just dumb. Seems like Trump gets under all the Democrats skin. Too funny.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

The president could end his shutdown by supporting effective policy instead of pandering to his uber-ignorant base and scared out of their minds conservatives.

Effective policies like record low unemployment for Blacks, Hispanics and women, 3.5% economy, putting a check to runaway liberalism of those cloaked radical haters of America and champions of illegal immigration - yes those effective policies.

One has to feel a little sorry for the uber-deranged leftists wallowing in their own hatred.

Start with grounding the Pelosis. Then have every member of Congress enroll in Obamacare - by executive order. Have Ginsburg retire and replaced. Then have a vote of term limits. In the meantime, border security is funded, the govt is re-opened and the fun has just began.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

How convenient!

Yes, the truth is very convenient for those of us who believe in it but not those who subvert it.

Call the ideology for what it is - Far Left, Communist, Marxist, Maoist. But nobody would vote for commies.

Liberalism is not the above. No matter how many times you try and equate it as thus.

As for commies, I believe the 1950s have been and gone.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Liberalism is not the above. No matter how many times you try and equate it as thus.

As for commies, I believe the 1950s have been and gone.

Many of us disagree no matter how many times liberals try and sugarcoat it.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

LMAO...yup, he's STILL YOUR President, whether you LIKE it or NOT

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

In a letter to Pelosi denying her delegation the use of a plane, the Republican president called the trip an "excursion" but the Democrat's spokesman said the trip to the Afghanistan war zone was for security and intelligence briefings.

-3 ( +7 / -10 )

What I said was I don’t see a link with Trump denying himself a voice in Davos with Pelosi signing off on a wall. Can you explain the benefit to me? Feel free to add in any side points after.

Its not that difficult, Trump was never a fan of Europe and doesn’t feel the need or even the urgency to speak at Davos. None. Now the Democrats think the President has an obligation to do so, he doesn’t. The same goes with Pelosi and her team of socialists that belive border security is a farce, her priorities are not for the US, Trump’s priorities are not with Europe, his is for America and her and the Democrats are about appeasing the Europeans.

I have my ear pretty close to the ground when it comes what Democrats are thinking as I’m a Democrat. You are saying that Democrats are pressuring Pelosi to give Trump his wall? No law against saying that.

In some wanting to make a deal, she won’t allow that to happen....too bad.

Are you concerned that he chooses a group close to you for his next bombing run?

Nope.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Ah, so the reason he gave blaming Pelosi for the delegation not attending was really a cover for Trump not wanting to be there.

How would you know what’d in his heart or head? Let me guess, liberal intuition?

Why doesn't Trump just say he doesn't want to be there? And what benefit does he get by linking a false narrative about Pelosi and the wall?

Not sure. Why don’t the Democrats in the mainstream media just say they don’t know all the facts and that they are throwing bananas and making stuff up all because they don’t like this president?

.

I understand. You know that the Democrats want her to cave and accept Trump's terms. So not only is she against Trump, she's against her own people.

No law against saying that.

If the tactic can work for one party.....

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Pelosi and her Dem buddies really thought she is going to fly government/military air to travel around the world during a shutdown and use the military as a backdrop to smack talk the commander in Chief?

Nope! Stay home until shutdown is over.

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

The left have gone so far left that soon they will go back to the right.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

It just looks as if Trump can't hit back very hard.

Not according to the media and the Democrats.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

he can't give the SOTU at the border because it wouldn't be before a joint session of congress...Do you know what the SOTU is?

Sure he can. The State of the Union speech doesn't have to be in Washington D.C. Yeah, sure it's the traditional place to give it but as you may have noticed Trump often bucks tradition, which is a good thing being as how there are a lot of traditional things in Washington D.C. that need bucking.

To tell the truth Trump should not have denied the military plane trip to Brussels, he should have just canceled the return trip.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

And Melania should be able to fly Delta. But you all know the resistance lunatic left wont allow that.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Brilliant response from Trump. Pelosi moronically said she wants Trump to cancel SOTU because, due to the govt shutdown, there would be no security. Of course, that was complete BS - but Trump called her on it. If, as she said, there is no security for SOTU, then there's no security for her galavanting around the globe. Checkmate!

Trump should do the SOTU address from outside the walls of the Pelosi mansion.

oh you mean by the most golf trips ever by a sitting POTUS, going to Mar Largo resort which Trump owns, Trumps spent 153 of his first 590 days in office at a resort he owned. all paid for by the taxpayer. all labeled working holidays, lol

Trump works his ass off wherever he is, be it the White House or Mar Largo. And though, like Pelosi, he's rich, unlike Pelosi he doesn't take a paycheck, lol.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

the Democrat's spokesman said the trip to the Afghanistan war zone was for security and intelligence briefings.

Pelosi should not be allowed anywhere near security and intelligence briefings. Those briefings are for people with integrity and intelligence, neither of which Pelosi has.

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

Tit for tat  "equivalent retaliation".

You ever the feeling that Trump hates being one upped?

Well Nancy. You did start this one. I do not blame the President for what he did. But I feel like I am watching some made for TV drama. Really stupid at the end the of day. Petty on so many levels. Palm to face.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Congress is a branch of government equal to the presidency. McConnell caving to the presidency is a dereliction of duty. Allow the vote and let the people have their say.

You know what they say about payback....

Good point. I guess I can’t say he doesn’t like Europe and doesn’t want to be there since I don’t know what’s in his head.

With what’s going on in the country, I’d fault him for sure had he gone.

Then it works for the other? Trump’s people want him to cave?

To plan his next assault on the Democrats I’m sure they would. Like I said, the Dems are really grasping at straws if they think Trump is going to walk away with this and if the federal workers are not happy with it, then maybe they might want to look in private sector since unemployment is the lowest. As it matter of fact, the Dems should understand this pain, that mostly liberal workers are going through, we had the same thing in the private sector back in 2008

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

So Pelosi could do the same against the fascist Trump administration and help restore democracy to the USA.

Trump the Populist is fascist? Lol! If anyone is fascist it’s the socialist Democrats that want to fundamentally change the county and turn it into another Valenzuela. No thanks. The Democrats can move there and replace Maduro or better yet, go to Cuba since they love to party and love to living it up, living up!

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Nancy Pelosi won that round! She is far too clever for an amateur like Trump!

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

McConnel needs to allow a vote. If there are enough votes for a wall, there will be a wall. If there aren’t, there won’t be a wall.

Trump will veto any bill without the wall/barrier. Everyone is waiting on Nancy to cave and compromise. She can get her 1.6 billion for technology and more border patrol agents. Trump gets 2.5 billion for barrier. It's called compromise. Dems should try it sometime. It's how democracy works.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

Petty, but hilarious. Would love to see her reaction when she found out.

Would have been priceless to be a fly on the back window of Nancy's limo when she got the word that her arrogant entitled butt was grounded. Yes, priceless. Thought she was cute by disinviting Trump from House chamber for State of Union. Now she will either cave and allow it or he will deliver it from the Senate.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

Like most every other Republican, he was humiliated. Humiliated when the White House said they'd support the funding bill he and all the other Republicans voted for - then Trump flip-flopped when he was humiliated by Ingram and Limbaugh.

I would say Pelosi was not only humiliated, but got slapped in the worst way, trying to head out of dodged and at the last minute to get a letter from the President saying to her her like the indolent child she is “you’re grounded.” Priceless!

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

She should fly Delta like the rest of us. In economy. Deal with real life!

The bigger thing is the man-child not getting his SOTU address.

Oh, he'll give it. And the Democrats will cry. I hope he gives it on the border.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Makes no sense. I mean I get the snub of Pelosi because that's just Trump's pettiness, but The Davos delegation was Trump's people, Mnuchin, Pompeo, and Ross. Now we won't have a voice there.

And?

I don't see the link between hurting America's global economic interests and getting Pelosi and Schumer to agree to Trump's new demands. Can you explain that to me?

Trump took a torch to that a long time, he cares about the US and it’s own internal politics at heart, doesn’t what other countries think, come on! You know the man is not a globalist.

The only thing I can think of is that Trump wants to create damage for the purpose of releasing statements that blame Pelosi for it. So maybe tomorrow he cancels a meeting on global health all so he can say, "Sorry, can't make it because of Pelosi."

Could be, you never know, I do think both sides should meet in the middle, but as long as the Democrats or I really should say, Pelosi refuses to pay a cent for the wall, the President should equally keep his knee on the Democrats necks.

I also don't see how this is a winning strategy for Trump. He's getting blamed, along with the GOP, nearly 2 to 1 compared to Democrats. Will actions such as this get people to stop blaming Trump and start blaming Democrats? I just don't see that happening.

The Funny thing is, even though he’s getting blamed, it hasn’t hurt him that much polls, so he’s still hovering around 42-45%, can’t say the same for Congress polling.

Before the shutdown I said I was worried that Trump would go scorched earth so bad that the Democrats have to cave just to stop innocent people from being seriously damaged. I really hope this isn't the first step in that direction because sooner or later he's going to start targeting groups of Americans.

Probably. The President is never going to allow the Dems to hijack his office and take over the narrative.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

This just makes me like President Trump more.

-7 ( +12 / -19 )

Instant karma, on steroids.

The Dems still haven’t learned that they can’t win against Trump.

-7 ( +5 / -12 )

I don't see the link between hurting America's global economic interests and getting Pelosi and Schumer to agree to Trump's new demands.

You don’t see the link of hurting America’s National Security along the Southern border and why Nancy and Chucky and all the other Democrats couldn’t care less about our sieve borders and the lack of consideration for our immigration laws?

Trump is getting blamed by a wide margin. And he went on national TV and took credit for the shutdown. If you want to tell me that that's a position of strength, I can't stop you. It's a free country.

And likewise the Democrats are starting to get more pressure from the constituents to do something and to try to come to the middle ground because so far they can’t get any of their legislation through and it will never go through at this point, so the pressure is starting to build for them as well and he cannot be in a position of power or to even be considered a serious politician if you can’t even get one lousy legislation through Congress.

Who do you think he will go after next? And will you support him if he intentionally creates more damage?

Yup.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

CrazyJoe - Today 07:22 am JSTHis petulance, pettiness, and idiocy is so obviously on display it is breathtaking. His is as smart as a peacock that preens for a hunter.

Thanks for compromising the Speaker's security, mr. president. Although to be fair, I doubt anyone in the West Wing understands the first thing about how trips to troops in war zones are put together.

Yes, the Pelosi is concerned about HER security, but not concerned about the security of the VOTERS. Par for the course when you know how the swamp works, and are willing to exploit it to it's fullest.
