Thankfully, a happy ending for this man.

Epic win for Turkey, they get to keep the multi-billion dollar Russian S400 they desperately want and all they had to give up was one guy.

While I agree with this, it's weird that your bashing your hero Trump.

Trump the POLITICIAN knows whatever it was he traded for the man's release just got him even more votes from many in the right-wing, evangelical base.

Soon we'll find out what Erdogan, another despot like Netanyahu, Kim, Xi, Duterte, Putin and others Trump admires, got in return.

The direct consequence of this release is a slight strengthening of the Turkish Lira.

The value of 1 U.S. Dollar is equal to 5.87 Turkish Lira. Taking into account that last Sunday was at 6.16. The rise will alleviate the already very weak economy of the country. Although the damage is already done. And all because of Erdogan's Ottoman imperial ambitions.

"The only deal, if you could call it a deal, is a psychological one. We feel much differently about Turkey today than we did yesterday, and I think we have a chance of really becoming much closer to Turkey,"

Really? Closer? They have still committed one of the greatest purges of anybody and everybody that doesn't toe the line of Erdogan. Hundreds of thousands of people detained and/or imprisoned and fired from their jobs under extremely dubious grounds of having something to do with attempted coup.

They also attacked the so-called allies of America's war on terror in the Kurds. Willfully attacked while America turned a blind eye.

Turkey needs to be booted from NATO and America needs to learn who their friends are.

The American treatment of the Kurds has been nothing short of disgraceful. Used and left to die.

What are you talking about, Trump gets a great photo op and can claim a diplomatic victory to his voters.

According to your first post, it was an epic win for Turley. After being called out on bashing Trump, you changed your tune.

You support Trump no matter what he does, but bash the US at every opportunity. It's almost as if you are intentionally decoupling the US and Trump. The only reason to do that is to sow discord amongst Americans. Care to retort?

Gee, I wonder how a news article about Turkey can avoid the fact that they have annexed a corner of Syrian territory with their army. Where are all the “Crimea” weepers?

By "Crimea" weepers, are you referring to conservatives that constantly hold up the Russian annexation of Crimea as an example of Obama's weakness?

Think the deal was a 15 man hit squad killing and dismembering a journalist with no reprisals. A pastor is small cheese. Turkey is Turkey sneaky is probably a nice description.

I think at this point the Russian left wing talking narrative is on its last leg. When all other conspiracies fail, always revert back to the Russian meddling.

I bet if he wasn’t a right wing Christian evangelist, he would still be in prison. He is probably a spy and involved in thousands of deaths or imprisonment through his involvement in the failed coup, but that is not important, just votes for trump.

Released 1 day after a Saudi journalist is murdered in Turkey...

A nice deal with Trump, Turkey and Saudi... A really nice midterm package.....

Kill a journalist, pay off Turkey, release a pastor.... DONE!

I'm glad the pastor has been released and is in good health.

Even the MSM is acknowledging that this will boost Trump in the midterms.

so giving Putin more access to NATO flights over around Turkey is a good thing!? serious whos side is Trump on!?

When I refer to the US, I'm talking about the liberal deep-state that bombs people all over the world.

dude your conspiracy theories are corrupting the facts, in the last 30yrs no POTUS have bombed more countries started more wars and killed more civilians than Repubican and yes Obama was left with hand me down mess of the middle east from Bush, Trumps said hed bring the troops home but theyre still there.

Why would this get any down votes?

When I refer to Trump, I'm talking about the president duly elected by honest, hardworking, God-fearing everyday Americans.

When I refer to the US, I'm talking about the liberal deep-state that bombs people all over the world.

You do realize the president is inexctricably intertwined with the US, correct?

You do realize the Deep State is a right wing crackpot conspiracy theory that is peddled to explain away Trump's inability to get much done, correct?

At least you've come clean about your goal being to sow discord amongst Americans.

This is my favorite sequence:

When I refer to the US, I'm talking about the liberal deep-state that bombs people all over the world.

I don't believe in conspiracy theories. I've consistently stated that I don't believe that Trump conspired with Putin to win the election.

You do realize the evidence demonstrates your incorrectness, correct?

Hee hee! BB, it appears you've latched on to the latest Repub talking point: If you can't beat them with policy, question their patriotism.

Agreed.

However conspiracy theorists keep bringing that hoax up.

Funny the other day, Tucker had Steven Seagal on, even for him seeing the lefts obsession (from his side since she’s been living in Russia and taken Russian citizenship) with the Russian collusion conspiracy narrative is astounding to him that the left can’t focus on anything else but that hoax.

Is the conspiracy theory on its last leg or is it the only thing that can be focused on?
