Trump has yet to nominate an ambassador to South Korea, a post vacant for over a year.

Aside from Yun retiring, this bit information is much more shocking.

The rogue US state has no interest in diplomacy, the decision for war has already been made and they are now just looking for a casus belli that will give them a fig-leaf of legitimacy.

Good to hear, there is no point in this role whatsoever as NK does not want diplomacy or negtiation, they want nukes to extinguish most of America. They will not be getting this wish, and if they continue on their current trajectory, their nation and history will be made extinct, and no one on Earth bar a handful of bitter NK fawners in Japan will shed a tear

That is a sign that Mr.Trump is sick of both Koreas! He has no plan to name an envoy to North Korea and he is furious over South Korea by delaying to send an ambassador to Seoul!

In the CBS interview, Yun noted North Korea had "stopped nuclear and missile tests".

Good to hear, there is no point in this role whatsoever as NK does not want diplomacy or negtiation,

Wow, where to begin on this?

You see, it doesn't matter what North Korea wants, because the USA isn't bound by North Korea's wishes. If North Korea doesn't want diplomacy (obviously disproven by their recent participation in the Olympics, but let's run with the delusional scenario anyway) than the US rejecting any opportunity for dialog would be giving them what they want.

The better question to ask is, "What do we want?" Do we want to throw away American lives in a stupid, needlessly destructive nuclear war because the POTUS and a few of his toxic followers are insecure about the contents of their trousers? If so, then refusing to staff our embassies is the right choice. Otherwise it's the kind of boneheaded stupidity you'd expect from such a bottom-dwelling troglodyte that we might wonder if we need to remind them to breathe.

The far more plausible explanation for this scenario though is not that Trump has intentionally left these seats vacant to punish North Koreas (because leaving them vacant doesn't do that), and instead it's more likely he just can't find anyone willing to fill them. Because a diplomat to either Korea under a Trump presidency is a terrible job because you know the way Trump throws people under the bus, any ambassador there is sure to get all of the blame if anything bad happens there, but none of the credit if anything good happens there.

Or a perhaps more plausible explanation is that Trump got distracted by a shiny red fire engine or a particularly scary bird on his way to send the letter to whoever would fill the post, and completely forgot what he was going to do and spent the rest of the day watching TV in bed.

they want nukes to extinguish most of America.

And some want nukes to extinguish most of the DPRK.

I don't trust either of those pro-war camps.

"He’s such a dreamer," a White House official said at the time.

Yes, imagine above us only missiles in the sky. Let the Koreans resolve their own issues.
