New COVID-19 infections are rising in 42 states

Remind me again how many states there are in total.  Fortunately trump has everything under control which is why (according to his press secretary), the "world" sees the US as a leader in the fight against Covid 19.  I'd agree they are leading in many areas - most cases, most deaths and no ideas on how to stop it increasing.

It's so out of control now in the Southeast USA that the government's basically given up on the idea of contact tracing. Critical mass has already been reached, and now the only way to deal with the disease is to isolate.

Of course, with the governors of those states mostly beholden to the White House, they won't do what's necessary and proper. They'll just wring their hands, bloviate, and feed more BS into the air about 'we've flattened the curve' and 'it's because of more testing' and a supposed fall in death rates. Even though the Surgeon General himself stated that the death rate is often the most lagging indicator, usually by 2 weeks after the surge of cases.

So the timeline's like this:

Lockdown eased... infections start... mass infections rise... overwhelming of health system... mass deaths.

Many states are now at step 3.5 on this 5 step scale. And I don't see anyone doing too much to stop the march to step 5.

The U.S. coronavirus outbreak worsened on Tuesday as more states reported record rises in new cases

The pandemic deniers and others in the far right pushing to maintain their faction of 'elite's' global controls will say 'fewer people are dying, so no problem'.

While choosing to ignore that the virus continues to decimate the physical and financial health of huge numbers of people.

'Wartime' Cadet Trump has opted to return to his bunker and surrender to the virus. He, his family and his fellow 'elite' have the money and healthcare if they get sick. Unlike most of the 'others' he was elected to represent.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

trump is stupid, and so are his followers! The US is in this mess because of his mismanagement and handling of the situation!

Like his older sister said of trump:

“'He’s a clown,' my aunt Maryanne said during one of our regular lunches at the time. ‘This will never happen,’” she recalls her saying.

The family knew what the country is starting to realize!

10 ( +14 / -4 )

Gee, who could have predicted that when you let people start congregating in indoor spaces again you'd get more transmission of the disease?

Oh, that's right. EVERYONE!

Wait another 14 days for the real spike after the 4th. That's when the fireworks really start.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Yet again today, Trump in an interview with Greta Van Sustren is just surrendering and burying his head in the sand:

https://us.cnn.com/2020/07/06/politics/fauci-coronavirus-us-response/index.html

"We've done a good job," the President said. "I think we are going to be in two, three, four weeks, by the time we next speak, I think we're going to be in very good shape."

The words of a man who's given up, and can only pray for a miracle.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

Wait until flu season starts! It will really get crazy!

Wait another 14 days for the real spike after the 4th. That's when the fireworks really start.

Waiting for 'it was BLM and the protestors who caused the spike' repeatedly said by so many far right followers of Trump and Putin. But then like their idols, the far right parrots care zip about truth. They know parroting their 'side's' memes is the best way to reach their intended audience of 'poorly educated'.

5 ( +11 / -6 )

And deaths are on their way up too. Looks like there'll be over a thousand today. It's sadly it if control. We saw what happened in NY and now other parts of the country could end up the same. Very sad for all those caught in this.

Its a cruel summer... leaving me here on my own

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Depends on the weather, if it’s sunny it’ll just disappear according to some. Just 34 minutes of sunlight and zap, you’re in the clear.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

that what the scientific study said, that 90% of the impact of corona will be negated by 34 mins of sunlight per day.

But yeah, mock it just because you dont want to hear it politically.

that what the scientific study said, that 90% of the impact of corona will be negated by 34 mins of sunlight per day.

No, that isn't what the study said. It said that virus on the surface/clothes/etc would be killed by expose to the equivalent of 34 mins of summer UV sun. Nothing about any virus already in the body, on surfaces indoors, in the body, or anything not touched by the UV light.

Sounds like you're speaking of the left.

look who has coronavirus now, from the protests. Look who isnt wearing a mask either.

first hand account of a protester who works at a hospital, yet cant even stay home from a protest. Even though he knew it was wrong and dangerous. Got reinfected, then went back to work at a hospital,

https://www.foxla.com/news/koreatown-man-reinfected-with-covid-19-after-attending-several-protests

He said he tested negative several times after his first infection, but then ested positive again on June 19th after he attended several Black Lives Matter protests.

Lee said he wore PPE at the protests, but remembers feeling worried about the large crowds and proximity of people to each other.

“Everyone was so close to eachother, everyone was stuck on eachother you know,” Lee said. “I think about more than a quarter weren’t wearing masks, there were probably like 5,000 people at the protests probably, all I remember is at some points we couldn’t even turn around or anything.”

Blacklabel....science just clearly isn't your strong suit........it takes much less than 34 minutes for the person standing next to you at a bar, at the beach, at a BBQ, at a protest, etc., to send the virus your way. You can claim that you are young and free of factors that influence the severity of symptoms (I assume that means you know which variant of the APOE allele you have), and therefore are safe from the debilitating effects....and you may be wrong. Being wrong and selfish about this can cause others to suffer and die.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

No Mask No Entry No Exceptions!

Yep! That's how it is where I work and I fully agree. Wearing a mask is not just good for you but it's being respectful of others too.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

exactly my point.

but liberals and their media claim the (selfish) protests didnt cause any coronavirus spikes (that made people die). Your comments support my point.

Being wrong and selfish about this can cause others to suffer and die.

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

Blacklabel...sure...the protests were not a good idea, but ask what led to the protests (endless systemic oppression and police brutality). Now, ask yourself what led to people needing to go to the bar the BBQ, etc....(hint: not endless systemic oppression and police brutality). Sad that this needed to be explained to you. Result may be the same (more spread of COVID), but the reasons for the two are completely different....you understand this , right? Right?

6 ( +8 / -2 )

look at the last 7 days deaths. More than 30 states are averaging less than 10 deaths per day.

https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/coronavirus-deaths-united-states-each-day-2020-n1177936

NY, NJ, Illinois, California leading the way in deaths in the last 7 days. But all liberal media wants to talk about is Florida, Arizona and Texas. Of the 3 states liberal media is obsessed with, Arizona has the highest at 26 deaths per 100,000 residents.

How many states are same/higher than AZ, you ask? Twenty.

District of Columbia (not a state) has 91 deaths per 100,000 people. not a word from the media, cause protests were held there.

-11 ( +1 / -12 )

no, your excuses and reasons are irrelevant.

protesters are not exempt from getting corona and passing it to others to make them die. Is it better that someone died due to reckless behavior of a "virtuous protester" compared to someone who went to a BBQ with family? Does that comfort their family?

but the reasons for the two are completely different....you understand this , right? Right?

-12 ( +0 / -12 )

The U.S. coronavirus outbreak crossed a grim new milestone of over 3 million confirmed cases on Tuesday as more states reported record numbers of new infections, and Florida faced an impending shortage of intensive care unit hospital beds.

California, Hawaii, Missouri, Montana, Oklahoma and Texas on Tuesday shattered their previous daily record highs for new cases. About 24 states have also reported disturbingly high infection rates as a percentage of diagnostic tests conducted over the past week.

In Texas alone, the number of hospitalized patients more than doubled in just two weeks.

Earth to President Trump - this is a national crisis - our country is being attacked, just as if it were any terrorist group or nation state, and Americans are dying - more than the Vietnam and Korea wars combined - and the tally just keep growing.

In your own words, you are our "Wartime President" - but you're AWOL. You've surrendered, flown the white flag, given up, caved to the enemy....

Instead of leading the fight against the virus you send unhinged rants about statues and fake nooses while this past week over 3K Americans have died....

Moreover, you've sided with the enemy by refusing to social distance and wear a mask...

You are charged with Dereliction of Duty, Aiding and Abetting the Enemy, and Treason...

And your trial is scheduled for Nov 3rd...

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Blacklabel...I like your child-like fall back position when you lose an argument..."no, your excuses and reasons are irrelevant".....

You use the word "reckless" to describe the protester and try to describe the summer beach parties as a small family BBQ...image conjuring wizard you are. The beach parties and BBQs and anti^mask protests (especially in Huntington Beach CA) were not small family gatherings. Additionally, your above demography information neglects (not entirely your fault as you are just reporting some stats that you believe to be relevant...can't fault you for not understanding proper stat analysis, it's not easy) regional density (think of it as DC is more compact than Arizona...increased interconnectivity = increased exposure chance) among other reasons.
5 ( +6 / -1 )

We've tested over 40 million people. Of course we're going to have higher infection numbers.

We also have one of the lowest death rates. Imagine that!

-14 ( +1 / -15 )

The pandemic deniers and others in the far right pushing to maintain their faction of 'elite's' global controls will say 'fewer people are dying, so no problem'.

No one said that, but given the numbers that are on the decline concerning deaths and that more people are recovering and it’s the younger people that are seeing improvement is something to report and take note on. Why wouldn’t you not want to talk about that side of the coin. We know liberals have no agenda other than spreading doom and gloom, but there is a more positive side to this despite what the liberal mob is trying to make you believe.

While choosing to ignore that the virus continues to decimate the physical and financial health of huge numbers of people.

As well as seeing less hospitalizations and deaths.

'Wartime' Cadet Trump has opted to return to his bunker and surrender to the virus.

He should be risking it?

He, his family and his fellow 'elite' have the money and healthcare if they get sick.

As does every single politician, especially the liberal ones.

Unlike most of the 'others' he was elected to represent.

He is, just not the way the liberals want and he will never do it the way they want him to do it, thank God!

-11 ( +1 / -12 )

like, the density of a large group of people protesting?

regional density (think of it as DC is more compact than Arizona...increased interconnectivity = increased exposure chance) among other reasons.

Hawaii? with 1 death in the last 7 days? 19 total? that Hawaii? come on....you just making lists now.

California, Hawaii, Missouri, Montana, Oklahoma and Texas on Tuesday shattered their previous daily record highs for new cases.

-14 ( +0 / -14 )

not per capita.

America has the highest numbers of deaths, 135,000 and it ain't over.

-14 ( +1 / -15 )

While the number of recorded infections is rising, there death rate has been flattening out, if this graph from Johns Hopkins is anything to go by:

https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/us-map

This indicates that after Cuomo shipped thousands of infected patients off to nursing homes, which killed thousands of genuinely vulnerable people, the death rate has been gradually flattening out.

What the media don't want to tell us is that most of the infected people are not showing symptoms or are not becoming seriously ill.

I wonder if the advertising spend of the pharmaceutical industry has anything to do with this. According to

https://www.statista.com/statistics/953104/pharma-industry-tv-ad-spend-us/,

the ad spend of the pharmaceutical industry on US TV has been rising over the last few years from $3.11 billion in 2016 to $3.79 billion in 2019. And given that there are several Pharma companies working to create a COVID-19 vaccine, they have a vested interest in maximising the fear factor to prime the public to take their vaccines. The big media companies depend heavily on Big Pharma's advertising spend for their continued existence, so it's hardly a surprise that they're on board with the campaign.

Not conclusive proof on its own, but it's something to consider when analysing the news.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

that what the scientific study said, that 90% of the impact of corona will be negated by 34 mins of sunlight per day.

> But yeah, mock it just because you dont want to hear it politically.

That only works if you inject the sunlight directly into your body, along with disinfectant. I hear this procedure will be covered under the new Trumpcare plan.

Ha! Just kidding! Trumpcare ain't paying for anything.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Yes....."infections" going up....deaths are going down.....it's called herd immunity. We are beating the pandemic but the doomsayers do not want to hear this.

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

Another day, another article that does not explain hospital ICUs are filling up is because they are once again admitting/treating people who has health issues other than the virus. Wonder why is that?

-11 ( +1 / -12 )

Sam.....at the onset of the disease in late winter, it was mainly slamming older folks in rest homes in the US. Now that it has entered the general population to a greater extent than 4-5 months ago, it's not going to have as high a death rate. Still, many of those who recover from severe symptoms do so with health issues that will debilitate them for years and some will require medical care throughout their lifetimes. That's not doomsaying, it's reality for many people.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

The coronavirus surge continues on, as obviously, Trump's idiocy has caused the American numbers to be number one in the world, with no end in sight.

The virus is scary, but what's more so, is people who cannot and will not comprehend the factual numbers and scientific evidence of how and why COVID-19 spreads. Something so simple as realizing wearing masks are a deterrent to the virus should be easy to understand and implement, but because of alternative facts and narratives, lies become truth, caution gets turned into a fallacy of logic as it gets twisted to 'not having freedom', and other unbelievably ridiculous gaslighting that comes from Trump and his groupies.

Gaslighting is so strong with Trump and the right, they use it to fool themselves, as they attempt to fool others, and it gets louder and louder, as they become weaker and weaker. Cowards are like that. They speak with greater volume, screaming with repetitive, insanity. Even the right has people who begin to see the logic, but the worst of narrative idiots do not cease, and continually rehash the protests as equating to not taking caution toward the virus, thus making Trump's non adherence to safe viral protocol OK. Crazy.
