I will be in line immediately as long as it is not, Russian, Eastern European, or Chinese made.

My recent flu shot though really hit me hard. I was down for the count, but still am vaccine proactive.

Pfizer lied about their clinical trials and the data surrounding it. Yet the UK rushed the vaccine. Brexit is part of the reason behind why they are rushing to use this vaccine on the public.

Hoorah! Wonderful, utterly fantastic. The anti-vaxxers have come out the woodwork again, but they cannot dampen this joyous day. Can’t wait to get mine, sleeve rolled up and ready.

It's anti-vaxxers who could keep us in restrictions - I for one will be ready for my vaccine shots when they are ready for those over the age of 50. I have no fears or reluctance to be vaccinated.

The anti.vaxxers are part of the globalist movement looking to keep us under restrictions so governments can further erode our freedoms. Soros is involved somewhere along with Venezuelan voting machines, 5G and satanic pedophiles.

Had our weekly food delivery this morning, the driver’s wife works in an old people’s home and had her injection this morning!!

I am somewhat further down the list so don’t expect to be immunised until some time in the New Year, and then wait for second shot and the immunity should develop a couple of weeks later. Not a problem, keep taking the precautions and soldier on.

Meanwhile, it's been reported that the Emperor with no clothes on declined the offer of extra vaccines for American citizens from Pfizer all the way back in the summer. Too late now. Pfizer is all booked up, for UK and other countries.

Link please, as far as I know the testing hiccup was not with the Pfizer vaccine.

The second guy was called Shakespeare so he'll be good for another 500 years.

His name wasn't just Shakespeare, but William Shakespeare.

Having a national health service, Britain is well-placed to distribute the vaccine efficiently.

I noticed that while the US has not even started vaccinating people, Trump has already signed an executive order to prioritise Americans over foreigners in receiving the vaccination. Some red meat for his nationalist fan base.

It’s not only the big faction of all the anti-vaxxers and q-trolls or up to even some tribes in the third world who kill any team looking like western doctors and nurses, latest in the moment when they pack out anything looking like a syringe...lol The even stronger side effects of the second shot that knock you out if you’re unlucky will produce enough rumors and on top of that also those 25% of not working vials, in fact placebos so to say. That’s why it is still rather early to celebrate anything or to talk about a soon to reach global herd immunity. But never say never, it’s always the same pattern, rational thinking versus irrational hope spreading.

Tokyo-M. On the TV this evening they mentioned that they hope to get initial agreement by the end of December on the possibility of introducing this to Japan.

They will watch the effects in the UK for four months before deciding to initialize vaccinations here. If things look good though, there is an option to shorten the four-month observation period by one month, a doctor was explaining.

With the rushed nature of this vaccine going to the UK,failure is simply NOT an option.

It was not rushed - simply far more resources pushed into it than other vaccines

Why is Japan going to wait four months before thinking about using the vaccine? Especially as they are so keen for tourists to come back. Wait until spring and then think about it? Wasting time and will mean more unnecessary deaths,

but then under duress had to apologize and walk it back

What kind of duress?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

You can get infected even after getting a vaccination, between the days of being vaccinated

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Oh really? So why isn't its home country using it first then?

You tell us - a question proves nothing. It's the answer that does. Yet you don't provide that answer.

the top infectious disease expert had said it was too soon, but then under duress had to apologize and walk it back.

Anyone who thinks there aren't scientists out there that will be willing to speak up if the vaccine doesn't look safe isn't very clear on how the world or the scientific community works. One "expert" doesn't make me worry. Scientists often have eccentric folk, and the nature of intelligent people make them contrarians. It would be strange if there were no questioning voices. Now, if there is a break in the medical community as to the safety or efficacy of the vaccine, then there is something to be concerned about. But that doesn't appear to be the case. One scientist is a contrarian. A group is a concern.

2nd country for Pfizer will be Canada as we ordered early when the USA declined.

could take all year given the logistics of -70C storage and double dosing. There will be others on the market with easier refrigeration needs. 7 candidates so far. We ordered from them all

USA will be last as they don't have national health care like the rest of us.

Thankfully USA has so many anti socialist anti science anti vaxxer Republicans it won't need as many doses

Nations with a high-level of distrust in the media, politicians, science and/or vaccines, will be the last to emerge from this pandemic, and their economies will be the ones crippled by it the longest.

We all went into this pandemic together - it had no geopolitical agenda - which meant we all took a roughly hit to our economies putting us all at the same deficit. What will make the difference moving forward in the future is the quality of leadership within countries that will determine the strategy in bringing their countries out of the pandemic as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Within a given populace, a large number of anti-vaxxers, and/or a distrust of the media, politicians, and science, will be a drag on any politician trying to do so, and these countries will suffer the effects of the virus the worst.

The word science is the latest to suffer the same fate as the word racist: the left has rendered it meaningless. Science is all about admitting what you don’t know; it’s not affirmation of what you think you know. When the left says science now and calls people anti-vaxxers and science deniers; what they mean is that they have forfeited their own faculty for critical thinking and are accusing you—the reasonable person—of not wholeheartedly and sheepishly listening to Dr. Fauci.

I think this comment most definitely fits into my definition of that which will drag nations back from moving past this virus:

Nations with a high-level of distrust in the media, politicians, science and/or vaccines, will be the last to emerge from this pandemic, and their economies will be the ones crippled by it the longest.

Those evil scientists cannot be trusted, right? We all know scientists are all misanthropic, money hungry, politically ideological evil human beings whose only goal is to get in the way of the profits, right. Got it.
