What would they have to gain by damaging a telephone exchange?

Looks like some kind of warning. From whom and to whom will be interesting to find out.

They will trace the RV owner, get leads from that. There will be video cam footage of the arrival and people around the RV. More leads.

COs are built with thick walls, and nearly all equipment runs on DC power with backup power for 6+ hours, if not days, using batteries and generators.

FYI, AT&T owns many thousands of buildings in the US. More than 1200 in the SE US alone between COs and Work Centers alone.

Interesting day to do it on.

Probably some Antifa guys angry about some statue in some park about a Tennessee senator from 150 years ago,

The far right care more for buildings than lives.

Reminds me in a way of the Metcalf sniper attack on a PG&E substation in San Jose and some similar power station attacks around the same time.

Burning Bush

Highly doubt that.

@P.Smith, Smells like right wing extremism.

Doesnt it always?

“It felt like a bomb. It was that big,”

It was a bomb, Buck.

Good job it was Christmas, with few people around.

Stopping the steal?

Considering that far right terrorism is behind most attacks in the US, it seems likely.

And the fact that it hasn't (yet) been called an act of terrorism & 45 hasn't made a big deal about it suggests that it is a far right attack.

For you guys claiming right-wing terrorism, what proof do you have apart from your personal biases? Let the investigators do their work before you point fingers.

From the article:

Surveillance video published on a Twitter account Friday that appeared to be across the street from the blast captured the recorded warning issuing from the RV, “... if you can hear this message, evacuate now,” seconds before the explosion.

Toasted says

The far right care more for buildings than lives.

By that logic, the bomb could've been set by far-left terrorists, considering that a warning was given, cos, like, left-wing terrorists care more about lives than buildings. Right?

I feel relieved that they briefed the president. Hope it didn't upset his backswing.

Yeah, you love it. LOL.

It's a bit tedious, wailing over non-existent bias, isn't it?

If Nashville turns out to be the handiwork of someone other than right wing terrorists, I'll condemn it all the same. It's a bit different to removing statues of slave traders, Hitler, Stalin, Nelson and other controversial figures.

Don't you think it's telling that 45 hasn't come out screaming terrorism, yet?

Smells like left wing extremism.

Trump has been encouraging violence and the fact he hasn't made a fuss about this suggests maybe he knew beforehand. He is a terrorist and dictators like him do things like this, sometimes as an excuse to further usurp their power.
