Humpbacks are krill feeders and they can't physically swallow a leg of a human. It is too wide to fit.

Looks like a calm day for the water in that part of the world. It is always frigged there, even in summer with very high winds. Just standing on the bank of the Strait in Punta Arenas, the high winds would make the spray hurt like hundreds of tiny needles were hitting any exposed skin.

When we were driving north from Puerto Natales into Torres del Paine national park, a few tourist vans were flipped from the high winds. A motorcyclist was riding straight on the road, but at about 20°-30° leaning into the side-winds. I was afraid for the rider ... well, and our vehicle.
