Is this a time when we are meant to listen to Donny? It’s so hard to tell when we should listen to the president and when we should ignore him.

“We will rally together as one nation and we will defeat the virus,” Trump said. “We can turn the corner and turn it quickly.”

How about it. Democrats/media? Want to join us?

Then again, his comments are pretty vague:

*"........ may send the economy into a recession and suggested that the nation may be dealing with the virus until July or August"*

He can't be more precise because no one knows exactly how it's going to go.

President Trump is a great man and following his direction is best for the world.

How about it. Democrats/media? Want to join us?

The Dems have passed a bill in the House to help address this issue. Educate yourself:

What have the republicans done other than obstruct and Donny spouting lies and downplaying the situation?

He can't be more precise because no one knows exactly how it's going to go.

Nah, Donny can’t be more precise because he’s utterly incompetent. Tee Hee! Oh my . . . HAR!

Just another troll in the Fake News section

The first step towards recovery is honesty and acceptance .

Maybe only partly, it looks like the administration is accepting there is a problem. Honesty on the other hand.....

The culture of not admitting to one's mistakes was what driving the country over the edge, hopefully that ends now!!

How about it. Democrats/media? Want to join us?

Seriously? The Democrats and media who have been demanding action on this for weeks while Trump and his supporters like yourself called the pandemic a hoax?

I'm happy that Trump has finally accepted that this is a real thing, albeit weeks too late, but its not a matter of anybody "joining" you, its you finally joining us.

The United States will be powerfully supporting those industries, like Airlines and others, that are particularly affected by the Chinese Virus. We will be stronger than ever before!

He also tweeted this. He Is truly incorrigible and just can’t help himself. Shameless political plug even now.

Too little too late Donnie.

Aesop taught us "The Tortoise and the Hare", the Republicans brought us "The Virus and the Trump". Will voters learn the lesson?

VOTE this November!!!

He can't be more precise because no one knows exactly how it's going to go

its obvious how its going , down the toilet, Almost all of Trumps markets gains since he took office have been wiped clean in around 5 weeks. Now hes pumping up that "emergency funding" aka socialist bailouts & welfare for big companies, socialist healthcare in the form of "free testing" and socialist welfare in the form of paid sick leave. The deficit is about to explode. Seems like America is turning into the socialist regime so many Republicans feared, not to say its always bad thing.

I think he’s very confident and funny as well and I also know when he trolls the media like that they lose their minds and he’s right. Lol

Agreed, he is a confident, funny troll.

Unfortunately that is all he is.

Nah, Donny can’t be more precise because he’s utterly incompetent. Tee Hee! Oh my . . . HAR!

Weird...

Too little too late Donnie.

As if Biden, Bernie or Hillary would be handling this any better.

VOTE this November!!!

Absolutely!!! We gotta keep the White House and the Senate and take back the House!

VOTE this November!!!

Vote for candidates who realize public health is a key element of a strong economy, those who realize good healthcare shouldn't be provided to just the richest. Vote for candidates with good healthcare programs.

Vote out pols who've shown minimal if any regard for public health, those pols who want to protect their personal fortunes and those of their fellow 'elite', those pols who are willing to allow the US physical environment to be further degraded by runaway capitalists, those who want subsidies given to corporations contributing to their campaigns. Vote out pols who promise better healthcare, but don't deliver. Vote out the most dishonest, those who've made promises like 'Mexico will pay for the wall'.

Unless Trump cancels the election under the powers of the State of Emergency.

actually he cant do it that easily , needs to get the approval of the house / senate and the states for that, look it up you'll be surprised.

Why not just cancel the elections until 2024, that soundd like something comrade Putin would do

No I dont accept responsibility at all . Donald Trump

Vote for candidates willing to take responsibility for their actions, who live up to Truman's 'the buck stops here' and not to Trump's 'the bucks stop in my family's pockets'.

Could the general election be postponed or canceled?

Only with enormous difficulty.

The date of the general election is set by federal law and has been fixed since 1845. It would take a change in federal law to move that date. That would mean legislation enacted by Congress, signed by the president and subject to challenge in the courts.

To call that unlikely would be an understatement.

And even if all of that happened, there would not be much flexibility in choosing an alternate election date: The Constitution mandates that the new Congress must be sworn in on Jan. 3, and that the new president’s term must begin on Jan. 20. Those dates cannot be changed just by the passage of normal legislation.

After Louisiana’s announcement on Friday, Marc Elias, the prominent Democratic election lawyer, knocked down what he described as a wave of queries about whether the November election could be similarly revised.

Could the general election be postponed or canceled?

As COVID-19 spreads throughout the United States, forcing the cancellation of countless mass gatherings, lawmakers are struggling to decide what to do about upcoming elections. Four other states will still go to the polls on Tuesday, but Louisiana has postponed its April primary to June, under the optimistic assumption that everything will go back to normal by then. But what if, as many scientists predict, coronavirus spreads widely through the spring and summer? And what if, come November, the nation is still in the grips of a pandemic? Could Donald Trump simply cancel the 2020 presidential election?

The answer is no: Congress, not the president, has the power to move Election Day. And even if Congress did postpone the vote, the Constitution would terminate Trump’s term on Jan. 20, 2021. If Trump sought to cancel the election and remain in office past that point, then, he would require not just a congressional act but a constitutional amendment. That scenario is extremely improbable.

He is now saying the right things, but has clearly lost a lot of credibility by dismissing the risks posed by the virus previously when he had a chance to get ready.

Those who he arrogantly dismissed as spreading a hoax were actually telling the truth.

Trump's hubris has yet to catch up with him, but electorally it may now if he doesn't handle this better.

The virus is also revealing that the foundations of the US healthcare system are built on sand. The case for reform is now clear.

And despite this, it is important that he gets this right for all those who might die as a result of the virus and I hope he succeeds.
