She'd still be alive if Canada had better medical care.

I wonder if she had an underlying condition that caused her to fall in the first place. Brain tumor could have caused her to fall.

More likely some problem with blood clotting given the fall itself did not appear to be serious.

So much ahead of her, gone young. RIP

"what a mind numbing shock it must be for the family"..you don't say.. have you posted your condolence card with "Why?" written on it? Important point about head injuries though, take them seriously.

I wonder if moving her out of Montreal was the wise thing to do.

RIP, how did she fall on her head, was it on a rock, was an arteficial piste?

According to the BBC, it was the instructor who immediately called the ski patrol, who took her off the slopes and insisted she see a doctor even though she showed no signs of injury.

According to another report, she refused further medical care and went back to her hotel room. About an hour later, however, .... Richardson complained of a severe headache; she was rushed by ambulance to Hôpital Sacré-Coeur in Montreal

A lesson to us all that no knock to the head should ever be taken lightly.

Condolences to the family. What a mind-numbing shock it must be for them.

who suffered a head injury and fell on a beginner’s trail during a private ski lesson

Our only clue as to what happened, and either oddly correct or worded very badly.

Seems to me the poor woman hired the wrong instructor. I would think that if the bump was enough to kill, even later, he/she should have gotten her checked out or insisted on calling it a day.

"It seemed like such a simple accident. I mean how such small thing took her life." adaydream, there is not such a thing as a small thing in this world.

Poor Family. Natasha Richardson could do "women on the edge" so well.

After she married Liam Neeson I remember her once indignantly asking, "Everyone wants to know, 'How did you get him?' Why doesn't anybody ever wonder, 'How did he get me?'"

They appeared happy. In addition to talent, that sets them apart from most Hollywood celebrity couples.

It seemed like such a simple accident. I mean how such small thing took her life. My condolences. < :-)

I went skiing once, enough to know not to go again.

A sad day today for the Redgrave, Richardson and Neeson families. It is incredible that a bump to the head can cause such a horrible result. She had a lot of talent and it is such a shame when people are taken before their time.
