Dubai has been a haven for criminals for a long time.

The crimes don’t matter, if you are rich and have enough money to sustain yourself, Dubai will welcome you and turn a blind eye to your past.

these cities built by vast underground reserves of oil and gas provide near-guaranteed security to controversial, once powerful figure

Fossil capitalism and anti-democracy/pro-authoritarian leaders are welcomed by the Gulf states.

Speaking of fossil capitalism and anti-democracy/pro-authoritarian leaders, It should surprise no one to see China is getting even closer to the UAE. The Gulf states know China's economy needs to burn, burn, burn more fossil fuels.

The ex-president looks very happy: smiling all the way to his Swiss banks, methinks.

Ghani evacuated first to UAE. He was supposed to be a captain of the ship. Heard Ghani took big suitcases packed a lot of dollars and his private helicopter took off from his palace. He must have had nice views down there from the window.

Dubai is like Mos Eisley.

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum, villainy and influencers.

American that profited from this war , should be indicted, they should convene a grand jury

Ghani’s brother was cutting deals with officials from the trump administration, selling lucrative mining rights to private companies.

There have been reports of kickbacks paid to people in trump’s team. The scale of this corruption will come out sooner or later, we’ll figure how corrupt the former guy’s team was!!!

Do you ever wonder how much Ashraf Ghani is worth?

How much does he have tucked away in Swiss bank accounts?

He carried $ 160 million with him traveling to Dubai.

Safe to assume he has many times that much in the banks.

The trump administration paid him handsomely!

The Gulf states know China's economy needs to burn, burn, burn more fossil fuels.

Gulf states like the UAE also know China has huge reserves of rare earth elements used in developing alternative energy systems. The anti-democracy/pro-authoritarianGulf states in partnership with anti-democracy/pro-authoritarianChina have the ability to control the globe's energy future. With support from other anti-democracy/pro-authoritarian oil/gas state-capitalism regimes like Russia. And also 'western' regimes controlled by anti-democracy/pro-authoritarian fossil capitalists.

While the seas get warmer and disastrous climate related events become even more frequent.

Rising sea levels could further damage the areas along the coasts of Gulf states, where beaches have been created to make more islands and more high-priced waterfront properties and build more glitzy resorts where the globe's wealthy can play.

Saudi Arabia was a haven for the vicious bastard Idi Amin for over three decades. He was responsible for the deaths of at least 200000 Ugandans and some Tanzanians due to war in the 70s.

Just like Baby Doc Duvalier when he fled Haiti, leaving everybody there high and dry. Come to think of it, I'm a bit surprized Trump didn't try to do the same. But who wants that loser?

Filling his accounts with lots of money that came from that paid by US taxpayers over the last couple decades. Bush, Obama, Trump, Biden along with Republican and Democrat Congress members who let this debacle run on all need to be held accountable. And US voters need to become more aware to ensure they do not send more war or chicken hawks or those favoring fossil capitalism to DC.

Now I’ll thumbs up that. And add that the corporate MSM be held responsible next to them.

The Saudis accept only Moslem criminals, Dubai is more secular.

As long as you have enough money, Dubai doesn’t care for your faith!

This guy reminds me the Chinese Generalissmo"Chiang Kai Shek" who fled to Taiwan in 1949 stolen with hugh wealths!

When corrupted political leaders know their days were numbered, thefting the state's money is the only way!

Yes but I think the main stream media and the big tech companies banned reporting on that because they were afraid it would affect Trumps chances for re-election.
