More likely interfering in his family's efforts to collect administrative fees, customs charges, tolls, levies and special payments from the region; the anti-corruption drive in Afghanistan is hurting his relatives income....

NATO should just leave and let these people do their own thing. If even the corrupt president doesn't want them, surely all over?

Just leave the country to those who know how to run it best and get out as much as possible. We don't need to build every nation, no matter how backwards it may seem to Americans.

I highly doubt the spec ops were cutting some young boy's throat under a bridge. It sounds much more like the Taliban who are more than willing to cut someone's throat. The Taliban then blame the spec ops guys because they are the true source of resistance to their power in the province. Just get out and treat the area like the tribal regions of Pakistan.

Afghanistan is playing into the Taliban and, as suggested above, the corrupt Afghan government.

If the politicians in Washington don't have the brains or guts to end this meaningless war, then leave it to the men in uniform to improvise.

And I have no idea why you would doubt without one helluva lot more information. It was just one year ago that an American soldier killed 9 kids and 7 adults for kicks. Then you have the teen girl in Iraq whose family was murdered so soldiers could rape her, then they killed her too. Videos of soldiers peeing on the dead, and point blank executing the wounded. There are reams of reports of crazy stuff happening, as always happens in any war zone.

But some people think Americans can do no wrong just for being born in the right country...which of course fails to explain why America has the highest incarceration rate in the world, with Russia being a distant second.

All this nonsense, and still no Americans going before the ICJ. But oh yeah, lets just take pot shots at Karzai. He is just the leader of the faction that war supporters claim to be standing behind any other day.

True that it started under GWB, but it's been largely expanded under BHO. It's his now. Check the numbers of troop increases by direction of BHO.

If the Taliban didn't insist on exporting their torture and killing then maybe I could agree - except for all the innocents who are going to be brutalized in Afghanistan. Still, the US can't clean up the whole world and a lot of the world seems to want to wallow in the mud. Tragic.

The additional 30,000 troops he sent in 2009 were all out of Afghanistan by September of last year. Their job was specifically to stamp out some Taliban insurgencies. Now that their job is over they've returned to the States. By the way, the Bush Administration was working on the same plan for a surge because it is what the Joint Chiefs of Staff had been asking for. That's why Obama was able to get the plan in action so soon after taking over as President.

Karzai and his government are corrupt. Why don`t the foreign troops just leave the country now? The conflict is meaningless. Bring our boys home now.
