Well, if anyone has any doubt about the answer to the question in the News Poll of the Week, this story should settle it.

There is only one true way to rid the world of scum like the Taliban but what the world lacks is a leader willing to do it!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Bloody sick, and almost as sick that smartacus thinks it's relavent to the poll. Newsflash for the latter (person): even the Taliban are hated amongst Muslims (ie. people who believe in Islam) because of their ultra-radical INTERPRETATION of the Quran. It doesn't settle anything save to prove how utterly intolerant and ruthless the Taliban are, and how ignorant others are of Islam as a whole (you included).

"accused by the militants of immoral acts"

I'll bet they kissed each other.

That is very true.

The Taliban murder lovers. The US drops missiles on innocent civilians. It would be nice if there was an alternative to the Taiban but at present there isn't.

Moderator: Stay on topic please. Your reference to the U.S. dropping missiles is not relevant.

I can not for the life of me understand this. This makes absolutely no sense. These weren't children.

Just makes no sense. < :-)

Well, at least we know he will not rape his wife, and that was obviously the most important thing we had to worry about in Afghanistan.

NuckinFutz: "There is only one true way to rid the world of scum like the Taliban but what the world lacks is a leader willing to do it!"

And what way is that? Is it the way that failed to get rid of them in the country in question in the first place? This heinous act is clearly a signal that they are still (unfortunately) very much alive.

smartucus: "Well, if anyone has any doubt about the answer to the question in the News Poll of the Week, this story should settle it."

Wrong. Even amongst other Muslims (ie. believers in Islam) the Taliban are hated for their extreme interpretation and abuse of the Quran. Stop being so blinded by hate that you feel all Islam committed this act. It was the Taliban, and they have proven to be more than scum. The Taliban believe in Islam, but Islam is not the Taliban.

Anyway, what happened is sick beyond belief. I feel so sorry for the murdered. While this is Afghanistan where this happened, I shudder to think Pakistan has just relinquished LEGAL control to these people!

Translation: Yawn, so the Taliban excuted a couple of people. Can we talk about American now? ;)

This story is made to shock us about the Taliban as part of US psych-ops. If it is in fact true, it is probably an isolated case, with few verifiable facts.

The Taliban wants to live in the stone age. As for this couple maybe they're better off dead than living under those fundie nut jobs.

A sick warped culture that murders its own future.

Had the amount of money and effort that had been spent on Iraq been directed on Afghanistan instead, the resurgence of the Taliban probably wouldn't be a concern. Eight years of a half-assed fought war has only entrenched and made the Taliban stronger and spread into Pakistan.

I wonder what verse from the Holy Koran the Taliban used to justify this cold blooded murder.

I will not hold my breath waiting for so called moderate muslems to rise up in the streets to protest the dragging of Allah's name through the mud by the Taliban.

It's truly amazing that some parts of the world still think and act this way in the 21st century.

Even from another news agency, it's a distrubing story. < :-)

The Taliban are so backwards that they should be considered an embarrasment to Islam. But as long as you have the Wahabis running Saudi Arabia, etc. and corrupt dictatorships and monarchies as the norm in the region there will be no good coming from any of it without outside intervention.

Nice parents, I wonder if they will ever feel remorse for essentially signing a death sentence for their own children.

Den Den: This story is made to shock us about the Taliban as part of US psych-ops. If it is in fact true, it is probably an isolated case, with few verifiable facts.

The brutality of the Taliban is only just now being brought to light. They killed exponentially more than the coalition has over the last few years but the media focuses on one missile strike and ignores hundreds of burned down schools.

There is no room in this world for the Taliban. They commit immoral acts of murder in the name of purity. They rule through fear and intimidation. They treat women as less than human. Now Pakistan has sanctioned their activities by providing them a safe haven in their country. They are like a cancer. Sometimes, to get rid of a cancer, you have to kill some of the good cells too, but as long as the world leaders lack the fortitude to do what needs to be done, the cancer of Taliban will persist.

Will the Useless Nations step up to protect Human Rights? Not likely. No balls at all so this will be a continuing problem for many. Come on NATO do what the UN can't. Protect people from murder for doing what is human, falling in love. No matter what decision is made to deal with the Taliban there will be the cowards denouncing any action taken to take them out. That's to be expected especially in this computer desk warrior society on JT.

Problem is the UN or the rest of the world are not the leaders of Afghanistan, let alone their various War Lords, to cultures, to Taliban.

They can do whatever they want. Though handing out money to them daily along with troops from the USA, Canada, Australia, France, Germany & such is again a stupid move upon our part.

Mind you it all goes back to the Bush group deciding to call war on the Afghan, to later the Iraq to Afghan again AND what is the other country that the USA wants to call war on? Stupid of the present most poweerful country in the world. On has to wonder!!!!!!!

The Taliban hosted an international criminal and refused to extradite him to be tried for his crimes because basically they agree with him. Then they felt the brunt of a military that moved to remove them from power and harboring criminals and their training camps. Therefore I have no problem with NATO doing something to help Afghanistan to try to get some kind of responsible government that will not harbor jihad against the 'evil west' as they believe us to be. This not letting these international criminals have a home is perfectly all right with me. And I'd rather it be military that keep security over there than have to cower and hope the criminals don't hit us at home again. The less safe havens these people have to regroup in is the point of what we are doing in that country. I think it will be a hard deal but that we shouldn't let complacency take over due to time passing and everyone losing sight of this main objective. These Taliban judge, jury, executioner style dictators should be taken out without prejudice. Who ya gonna call? Not Ghostbusters. You gonna call the only country you can when you need her help. And cr*p all over her for doing your dirty work.

Unfortunately for Islam's apologists among the multi-culti crowd the Taliban can point to the founder of their religion for justification of their actions - Mohammed set the precedent. Honor killings are part of Islam. We're just back to the same hard and ugly truths about this cult...

VOR: "I will not hold my breath waiting for so called moderate muslems to rise up in the streets to protest the dragging of Allah's name through the mud by the Taliban."

It wouldn't matter if you heldy our breath or not; in the past when they voiced anger about attacks (like with Mumbai) you simply then had to back track your 'I won't hold my breath' comment and said something like, "It's only words". In other words, you just want to hate Islam and Muslims, even though they've spoken out about the Taliban and their extremism quite a bit.

Other than that, I agree with the Taliban being unable to justify, and therefore should not be able to use the Quran for doing so (although you said it in different words).

teleprompter: "Unfortunately for Islam's apologists among the multi-culti crowd the Taliban can point to the founder of their religion for justification of their actions"

They sure can, but that it's a shame you think they are therefore justified. I for one still see it as an extremely radical and heinous interpretation, as do many Muslims who have said they hate the Taliban. It's kind of like some nuts who murder abortion doctors or the like and say that god told them, or they are justified in carrying out His will, etc. (the justification is similar, not the crimes).

But hey, wouldn't expect you to see anything objectively.

Christ (Buddha as well) never murdered, nor did they ever advocate it.

Islam's founder did. He is revered by followers of his cult as 'The Perfect Man' or 'The Unversal Man' (al-insan al-kamil). What this means for the rest of us, hoping in vain for Islam's 'reformation', is that no authority in Islam can declare his deeds "sinful" or no longer relevant to Islam. "The Prophet" conducted raids; he personally beheaded his opponents; he kept slaves;he allowed for the murder of apostates and he legitimized marriage between adult male Muslims and females as young as nine.(Upon gaining power Khomeini cited this precedent and also allowed for marraige between adult Iranian males and child brides).

This honor killing may indeed sicken millions or even a billion Mohamedans - but it would not have sickened Mohammed the Prophet.

If you are skeptical just check the first sacralized 'biography' of Mohammed, written in the 8th century by Ibn Ishaq, who went to great lengths to show that the "Prophet" was first and foremost a warrior and lawgiver with no compunction about slaying those who transgressed the law. [http://www.faithfreedom.org/Articles/sira/18.htm].

Read and study - or just go on with the spin and the denial?

teleprompter: "This honor killing may indeed sicken millions or even a billion Mohamedans - but it would not have sickened Mohammed the Prophet."

Prove it. Oh wait, you can't, just like you can't prove that killing abortionists would most certainly not please Jesus Christ. But that's not what I'm here to argue, what I'm here to argue is that people like you -- and ESPECIALLY you -- take things out of context all the time and blanket an entire 1.4 billion of the world's population based on the actions of a very, very few (and in this case a group hated even within the Muslim world!).

"Read and study - or just go on with the spin and the denial?"

Likeitis did a pretty good job the other day of pointing out to you that ONLY in regards to war does the Quran specifically say people should be slaughtered, and only then during fighting (and not after surrender). But we know you like to cut and paste only the points that fit your arguments (so you have to keep them limited). Or shall we go back and visit that argument again?

As I said before, anyone can take just about any book and twist it to fit their own means; that does NOT mean the book justifies their actions (even if they themselves argue it), or that it promotes what they do. Again, go back and check out what likeitis said in regards to your selective quotation on the current survey.

Listen people, this is a different culture and its nowhere near the 21st century. problem is that many people are judging these acts through a western and modern perspective but the fact that the parents basically organized for the deaths of their children coz they broke the rules says it all. there's not much point trying to debate this. they broke the rules and they paid with their lives. its not for us to judge another culture's values.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Clearly, the multi-culti crowd is quite comfortable with Islam's institutional misogyny and its prescription of the death penalty for apostates. I'm guessing they are also okay with slavery (Saudi Arabia - Islam's center - only ended the practice in 1962) and child brides for middle-aged males.

How they spin and spin. The moral equivalence just makes me laugh: A handful of abortion clinic bombings in the 80's and 90's imperil civilization the way that 9-11,7-7,Beslan,Mumbai and the ten thousand plus documented cases of terror done in Islam's name done since Sept 2001.

Whatever....

Well, if anyone has any doubt about the answer to the question in the News Poll of the Week, this story should settle it.

No, it certainly does not. How does one crazy group represent millions of people around the world?

Anyone who takes the Old Testament literally must become a mass killer, according to the laws in Leviticus. Yet we tolerate Jews and Christians. I was raised reformed Jew, we treat the OT as a book of metaphors, but I've known Christians who believe the OT as the true word of God, and they are good people. The Taliban in no way represent Islam. Just talk to normal Afghans and you'll be enlightened.

"Anyone who takes the Old Testament literally must become a mass killer, according to the laws in Leviticus."

Heh, the radicals won't accept that as it hinders their mission to incite hate and conpiracy theories about Islam.

It's a demographic thing!! And if that fails, it's President Obama's fault!!
