62% of Americans say the war in Afghanistan was not worth fighting vs. 35% who say it was worth fighting via new AP/NORC poll out this morning.

“If we don’t sort this out, we’ll literally be condemning people to death,” said Marina Kielpinski LeGree, the American head of a nonprofit, Ascend. The organization's young Afghan female colleagues were in the mass of people waiting for flights at the airport in the wake of days of mayhem, tear gas and gunshots.

There are many young women in existential danger. Instead of the policeman of the world, time for America to be the orphanage of the world.

The reason for America's, Britain's, and the EU's HUMANITARIAN concern for the People of Afghanistan, which people paying attention knew 20 years ago and tried to make known to their fellows:

"The Taliban are sitting on $1 trillion worth of minerals the world desperately needs" -CNN Business Updated 9:51 AM ET, Thu August 19, 2021

And those so 'desperate' to escape their own country are the ones who were willing to help sell out their own country to murderous thieves. China hardly has to do a thing but follow the violent thieves around and pick up the pieces by fairly negotiating with the owners instead of trying to replace them with their own toadies and just TAKE what they want as has been OUR behavior for a very long time...gotta learn Mandarin and count in Yuan now, huh? Oh jeez...

This so-called administration has bungled this so bad by unilaterally deciding to go their own way. And by doing so it has ticked of so many around the world.

And of course by biden's handlers intentionally not making a speech until three days after the fact to get their spin story right exacerbated the issue.

One of their spin tactics is to say that both political partys wanted out of afghanistan. Bravo. Clever statement because it's true, but the isue is HOW. They intentionally don't talk about the how. And now we see the how and the utter and sheer ineptitude of the people on the political left.

They don't even know how many Americans are in afghanistan.

Even te british are literally sending in paratroopers to get their own people out while the biden messups are standing around finger pointing.

President Biden is more clever than some oeople think. His decision to leave 3 billion dollars of arms and sophisticated military equipment as a gift for the Taliban was nothing short of brilliant thus ensuring goodwill and cooperation to America from Taliban!

And yet some criticise him!

Its win-win!

Even worse for Biden’s handling of the pullout

As President Joe Biden began to explain Monday why the U.S. policy on Afghanistan has resulted in a disastrous ending, a just-completed survey shows that nearly 70% of American voters nationwide disapprove of his handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

America do not care about anything or anybody,if it do not harm them personally

These American citizen had adequate warning of the situation in Afghanistan, that US would be pulling out,the army is not here to protect them, the government can not force you too leave a hostile country, and not legally obligated too get you out,the State Department give warning,if you ignore the warning,it your own fault, example of a State Department Japan Warning US State Department Japan

Could you pick a more biased "news source?" A conservative site citing a conservative poll released by a conservative group is hardly reliable.

“There is going to be no circumstance in which you are going to see people being lifted off the roof of an embassy of the United States from Afghanistan,’’ Mr. Biden contended. At another point he added: “I trust the capacity of the Afghan military.”

Well, Bob Gates was right about Biden. The man has been wrong on every single foreign policy for the last 4 decades.

Oh, I’m sorry, which conservative news sites would you approve of? And why do I have to use liberal news sites only?

How about an unbiased news source, if any of them report news on polls being done. I suggest AP or Reuters as starting points. But to be fair, most if not all polls are biased.

No, too bias and too left-leaning. What else?

Depends.

The plight of Afghan allies desperately trying to flee the Taliban is exposing divisions among Republicans, with some pressing the Biden administration to help resettle those people who helped the U.S. military and others stoking nativist fears about an influx of refugees.

Depends on the editor, or writer, sometimes they can be or sometimes not and or in a very antagonist way. They’re ok sometimes.

Care to further elaborate or...?

Since the majority of the media and media often that JT uses has a more liberal slant to it, I tend to want to view news from other political perspectives and since 98% of the media reportage tilts left, I views news from the other opposing viewpoints and see a middle point, the only site that I personally trust that’s 100% in the center is Stratfor. They’re always straight center, no partisanship whatsoever just the straight facts and nothing else.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

I views news from the other opposing viewpoints and see a middle point,

Why do bother looking for the middle point when you always come to partisan right conclusions across the board?

Seems like a waste of time. Just go straight to the partisan right conclusions.

More efficient

Not true

Seems like a waste of time.

If it were I wouldn’t do it

Just go straight to the partisan right conclusions

As opposed to left partisan conclusions?

Trump made the error of reducing the troop numbers to just 2,500 before people were evacuated.

But no one is blaming Trump, not a single person. This is all on Biden. All of it and the more he tries to deflect or dodges the media, the more it damages him and his administration. Harris being on vacation in Vietnam is just absolute horrible optics. Psaki taking a leave and Biden not talking to reporters is just so bad, these people have no idea what they’re doing as well as what they’re doing to their PR and credibility. Talking about Trump makes them look worse because Biden is the President and he made the call and now even the intelligence agencies are all saying they warned Biden that this rapid and full pullout without any residual force would be devastating.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

This is entirely on the President. There are two possibilities that I can see that caused it;

The "intelligence community" was incompetent and grossly overestimated the capabilities of the Afghan Army to at least stand for a couple of months. In this case, they need to be fired.

The "intelligence community" knew the Afghans would collapse, and witheld the information from the country. In this case, they need to be jailed.

Ditto the Pentagon, Defense Department. There need to be real consequences for this absolute travesty. This level of utter incompetence cannot be tolerated.

Plus, the President embarrassed himself on TV during his interview with ABC news. His answers were rambling, incoherent at times, and quite angry at others. If you read the transcript, he even forgot which military branch his late son Beau served in, and what countries he was deployed to. If this doesn't convince people that Joe Biden is in cognitive decline, I don't know what will. The man is struggling.

Which president are we talking about? When did rambling, incoherent, angry presidents start to bother you?

Before the anti Trump crowd get out of control on here they should understand one wrinkle. Trump and Pompeo created the CCR-Crisis and Contingency Response program for situations like this.

Biden canceled it a few months ago.

Fox News blahblahbla~ saying it's all Biden fault. That broadcast knows that who have been giving information to retreat Afghan territory were the CIA and local Americans. And the last decision the president. Trump did it well, I only guess, no!

The relatively popularity of the war is irrelevant to what that the president is being criticized for. First, he threw out the previous guys conditioned based plan for withdrawal. Then his management of the withdrawal was a spectacular disaster causing the government to collapse and stranding tens of thousands of US citizens due to his precipitous withdrawal of troops.

You don’t trust our intelligence agencies - just like Trump, so why would you expect the president to?

I didn't think anyone trusted the intelligence agencies after the missing WMD and the leaks during the last guys administration.

I agree, I don’t watch it. Don’t watch CNNMSNBC either. They are corporations. That’s why they should be properly named corporate media. They wanna make $$$. They don’t really care about the truth, and haven’t since Bill Clinton’s war in old Yugoslavia.

They've happily sold every war since.

Please tell us what we should be reading or watching to get closer to the truth. Links would be lovely.

It didn’t help that many of the Taliban fighters could not read the documents.

And why is that?

Get them out of Afghanistan to anywhere else (India, Saudi Arabia), then sort out the paperwork there, unless it is very clear they shouldn't be on a plane.

Prioritize by:

US Citizens with passports and immediate family (no uncles or 2nd cousins)

US Green card holders and immediate family

Afghan interpreters vouched for by any US military officer and wife + kids.

Afghan workers vouched for by any US military officer and wife + kids.

Fill the planes by priority for who is available to be loaded at the time. They don't need to get too far ... just out of Afghanistan ASAP. Then sort the paperwork.

Taliban now has an air force. They were killing Afghan pilots earlier so wonder if they have learned to fly those choppers yet.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Who exactly is Biden listening to? Why not get the US citizens secured and out before the military leaves? Just up and leave? See you later, alligator, in a while crocodile?

The deadline is the 31st. The military should stay beyond the deadline to ensure everything is carried out.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

M Biden cancelled Trumps conditions based agreement with the Taliban because Taliban were not meeting the conditions. By cancelling Trumps agreement President Biden could allow withdrawl to go ahead because Trump agreement would have stopped it!

Mr Biden showed flexibility and a “can do!” attitude.
