Yes, but the data was taken on August 2nd, and the article was published later. That was before Trump's gaffes on the Second Amendment and who the founder of ISIS was, and his numbers have fallen further after those two stupid mistakes.

We don't need to split hairs, we all know about Trump and Hillary's liability problem.

But that has nothing to do with Hillary's trustworthy numbers, that's what I was talking about and she's in a very deep spot. Very deep in fact.

Yes, but the data was taken on August 2nd, and the article was published later. That was before Trump's gaffes on the Second Amendment and who the founder of ISIS was, and his numbers have fallen further after those two stupid mistakes. My link shows data taken from August 10. That means mine is more current, no?

Instead of ROFL, why not get off the carpet and do a better job of checking your facts?

No, Hillary's numbers are lower than Trump's, so how are her numbers worse than Trump's?

I was talking about her untrustworthy numbers.

Last week's Washington Post/ABC News survey showed Clinton with an 8 percentage point lead over Trump. Her trustworthiness numbers are still high: 59 percent said Clinton is not honest and trustworthy and about two-thirds said she is too willing to bend the rules.

Go back and look at the latest polls again.

I did.

Oh, and by the way, your so-called "link" was out of date and did not give a comprehensive picture. Nice try, but try again--and use more current and balanced data (show both candidates' numbers--like my link did).

I never said, Trump didn't have a likability problem, he sure does. it's Hillary that has a high untrustworthy poll that is far worse than Trump's likability poll.

Trump's likability numbers are equally bad.

No, they are not equal. His are higher, so they can't be equal. You seem to have a problem interpreting statistics.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Well, if that is the case, then Trump's numbers must make him close to the earth's core. I found this website to be quite informative regarding unpopularity and other polling questions. Have a look:

Before you go complaining about liberal bias or telling us that "it's just this site," the website reports information from all of the major polls, so don't go crying about liberal media bias.

I don't cry, but the I was referring to the untrustworthy poll numbers and her numbers are in the toilet, just as Trump's likability numbers are equally bad.

Let me get this straight: So if on August 15, Trump makes three verbal missteps and Hillary happens to make none, the press has to jump on Hillary as though she did.

Come again???? ROFL!

Well, you have Hillary and her shady and questionable foundation with the DOJ and then there is the burning question, why was Omar Mateen the father of the Orlando, FL. shooter in the rally crowd seated behind Hillary and when asked by a reporter, she totally ignores him! She called out a tax raise for the middle class, the media never challenged her about it. She has been reluctant about showing her full medical records, that's about 4 so far. Try again.

If they're going to jump on Trump for his loony remarks, they have to find something on Hillary to balance things out with. (However, Hillary has nowhere the pattern of making a long, continuous string of missteps that have become just another day in the life of Donald Trump.)

No, it's just the media chose to pile on Trump and any of the above chose NOT to engage, pure and simple and completely bias.

This week, If three more prominent Republicans announce they are repudiating Trump, with some even announcing support for Hillary, and if no Democrats announce they are repudiating Hillary this week, according to you, the press shouldn't report it because it wouldn't be fair and balanced. (Can you cite the name of the most prominent Democrat who has come out to support Trump over Hillary?)

Again, the Washington elite in both parties view Trump as a threat and if people want to see the same old policies, watch the middle class fall further into decline, watch wages to go down, more influx of illegal immigration and more wars and corruption, then vote for Hillary. Sure, you are getting a mixed bag of goodies with Trump, but at least he'll continue to work for the people and to put an end to the Washington machine and this is why the elitists in both party will do whatever they can to stop him, the people be damned and their right to vote, the elitists don't like Trump or Sanders and they will continue to undermine the people

If you jump on Trump, then you need to jump on Hillary as well, both have their flaws

Hillary's unpopularity polls are in the abyss, Marianas Trench to be exact.

Well, if that is the case, then Trump's numbers must make him close to the earth's core. I found this website to be quite informative regarding unpopularity and other polling questions. Have a look:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/trump_favorableunfavorable-5493.html

You'll see that Clinton's unfavorable numbers are in the low 50s. Trump's are in the 60s. That means his are higher, right?

Before you go complaining about liberal bias or telling us that "it's just this site," the website reports information from all of the major polls, so don't go crying about liberal media bias. It also has links for each candidate because we want to make sure that each candidate is covered equally--right?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

MSMphobia is treatable, but it requires the sufferer to stop imagining demons and start using reason and thinking critically.

The only way to treat that kind of condition is to make sure that we hold the media accountable and to make sure they cover the candidates equally. If you jump on Trump, then you need to jump on Hillary as well, both have their flaws, both are dodgy, both are popular with their base and both have very high negatives.

I've read JT posters cite and quote sources such as The New American, infowars, trunews, toprightnews, Breitbart, Drudge, impeachobama.org, and FOXentertainment, among others.

And that's good because the majority of the news besides that are liberal to progressive, sure, Alex Jones..... That's just as bad as the old defunct "Air America" and thank heavens for that, otherwise it would be a one big LEFT echo chamber all day, just like it pretty much was 20 years ago.

This suggests they're currently unable to use fundamental reasoning skills.

If that were true, they would have been out of publication a very long time ago and it would be going back to square one, listening to liberal only news cycles again.

It suggests they're so desperate to find info, however questionable, that confirms their many prejudices and extols the wonders of the man who founded Trump U.

Not desperation as far as knowing facts, desperation on the part as to when will the liberal media sites get their s*** together and cover the news fairly, at least CNN tries, they need the ratings so they'll bite the bullet and do what's necessary.

that they'll actually read and believe what's written in these whack sites.

Not really, it's the other way around, I think the masses have finally woken up to the realization that the media for the most part favor Hillary and that's ok, but don't wear it your sleeve and because of this, Hillary's unpopularity polls are in the abyss, Marianas Trench to be exact.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

I am sure media will report what she says when she talks like he does. Nobly else to blame now. Watch out T supporter.

In years to come, introductory psychology classes will study Trump as a classic example of narcissistic personality disorder, which when you look at the dictionary definition, describes Trump and his campaign so closely it's scary, especially if you think of him as US president.

Narcissistic personality disorder - indicated by such signs and symptoms as self-importance and boastfulness; preoccupation with fantasies of unlimited success, power, beauty, or other desirable attributes; self-image as someone who should associate only with high-status people or institutions; excessive need for admiration; unreasonable expectations of favourable treatment; interpersonal exploitativeness; lack of empathy; envy; and patronizing arrogance.

Trump is a chump !

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Serrano - "What does it take to get her arrested? She'll have to be impeached if she actually ever takes the oath of office."

Evidence. Of a crime.

And even after two-plus decades and literally millions of wasted public money "investigating" all these assumed crimes, not even an indictment.

Why? Because the only fires that can be linked to all the smoke happen to be the burning pants of America's least-honest, craziest, most despicable crowd of Know Nothings and Do Nothings - the Republican Party and the right-wing noise factory.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Serrano: "verbal missteps" Like when Trump was having fun with the crying baby and said "Get the baby out of here," and afterwards in an interview the mother said it was all in fun and didn't have a problem with what Trump said, but the media cries "Trump throws baby out of rall" lol

haha or like the time Trump said that a Mexican (oops American) judge shouldn't hear his case. That was pretty funny, too.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

there are some people who do not know what to speak when? our president to be Mr. Trump is one such great man!

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Of course the MSM is going to keep up the onslaught against Trump.

MSMphobia is treatable, but it requires the sufferer to stop imagining demons and start using reason and thinking critically. But it could be MSMphobes are just terminally angry people whose problems are beyond treatment.

Although I've always voted democratic, I think if Ike Eisenhower were still around... Where's Colin Powell these days? And don't let the Trump and Clinton stories steer you off the real storied going on in the country. Congress selling out social security, snd corporate lobbying by weapons manufacturers.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

This board sounds like a sorority sister meeting. Of course the MSM is going to keep up the onslaught against Trump. This election is trying to be won in the press because the corporate boards of the MSM all sit on the Wall Street boards who sit on the boards of of the weapons manufactures who sit on the boards of the lobbiests on and on and on. Do you lefties even read anything but CNN headlines?

We know trump says stupid shit, what amazes us is how you continuously believe the vomit that spews from Hillarys mouth.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Moonraker, "We are, as they say, in a post-truth world"

In the UK they're calling it Post Factual Politics. A feeling forgotten and ignored white working class in the regions has also bought into this kind of populism. In the recent EU referendum when lies and misinformation were exposed, populist politicians declared the population were fed up with experts and their facts and informed opinion. And enough people bought it. I say wake up America, you're being manipulated in a way we haven't seen since the 1930s.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

So he was being sarcastic? Did anybody think he was being sarcastic back then?

Last week poll, only 38% of Americans think Hillary is trustworthy. Issue is, only 36% of Americans think Trump is trustworthy. Both have 60% untrustworthiness.

http://www.mediaite.com/online/clinton-and-trump-tied-as-equally-untrustworthy-in-new-poll-showing-clinton-ahead-by-8/

0 ( +0 / -0 )

So Trump says regarding Pennsylvania (a state that all polls show him losing):

The only way we could lose, in my opinion — I really mean this Pennsylvania — is if cheating goes on. I know what’s happening here, folks. She can’t beat what’s happening here. Go down to certain areas areas to and watch and study and make sure other people don’t come in and vote five times.

Certain areas? Really?

The only way they can beat it in my opinion, and I mean this 100 percent, if in certain areas sections of the state they cheat.

Ah - Certain areas. You'd have to be deaf to miss that dog whistle. Maybe he's being sarcastic. Maybe not. Maybe he doesn't know himself until he judges the reaction. What a wonderful trait for a commander-in-chief.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

What I want to know is why anyone would vote or even think of voting for a woman that would sell her seat of confidence and have the DOJ shield her and her laughable organization or slush fund to amass billions of dollars.

Because the other guy is useless? If all these things are true about Clinton, the sensible thing is surely to make Clinton the focus of your campaign. But Trump continues to make himself the focus with his inane remarks. And now, if he does attack Clinton, who's going to believe him?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

"They will when she starts acting as insanely as Donald. Until then, not particularly."

Her health is actually in question.

Katsu

I'm struggling to think of even a single good sign out of the entire Trump campaign.

The total annihilation of the insane Republican party?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

TorafusuTorasanAUG. 13, 2016 - 01:55PM JST @katsu [...] Do you think it is a good sign that he only has one election office open in swing states like Florida, and not the dozens that other leading candidates had in past elections?

I'm not sure why you're addressing that question to me, but no. I don't think it's a good sign. I'm struggling to think of even a single good sign out of the entire Trump campaign.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Donald on Pennsylvania:

"The only way they can beat it, in my opinion -- and I mean this 100% -- if in certain sections of the state, they cheat," he said.

100% no less.... unless he was being sarcastic. In that case, it didn't count, the MSM misquoted and misinterpreted him, it's all a lie and the world is against him.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

@katsu, Trump has his staff to print out dozens of news articles every day that he pores over with highlighter markers. I wonder which media sources his staff gives him most of the time? Do you think it is a good sign that he only has one election office open in swing states like Florida, and not the dozens that other leading candidates had in past elections?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

It's funny how all the Trump campaign and all its supporters keep blaming the media for every piece of bad news about Trump, apparently blissfully unaware that the only reason someone as style-over substance as Trump had a shot at politics in the first place was because of the overly generous US media.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

The media says Trump's words matter, but Trump has other plans. Anytime he is taken seriously, he says "Suck it everyone, I was being SNARKASSTIC!"

Whaddabout, howzabout, yadda yadda. Getting cramps from Trump brand word (taco) salad yet, Republicans?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

"The media says ( Trump's ) words matter. How about Hillary Clinton's horrible actions? Don't they matter?"

Yes, that's why she's not trusted.

Trump's stupidity and incompetence makes sure attention is focused on him and not Clinton.

To think how easy it would be for a remotely competent candidate to beat Clinton. It beggars belief.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

The media says ( Trump's ) words matter. How about Hillary Clinton's horrible actions? Don't they matter?

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

"And this is interesting: "New developments in Hillary Clinton pay for play scandal" ( Fox News, where else? )"

It's no use even if there is something there with which to attack Clinton. He'll end up fouling the carpet and spend his time cleaning that up while Clinton is laughing at the jaw-dropping incompetence.

The rightists keep telling us that Clinton is dishonest, untrustworthy and in the pockets of the elites. The point is it wouldn't matter if she was squeaky clean given Trump's inability to run a sane campaign.

If I were a conservative, I'd be furious with Trump. He's delivering your country into the hands of Hillary Clinton who'll be cackling all the way to Washington.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Your inability to use the advantages of being a white male are your problem, not the 'system's'.

Angry white male, please. That's the linchpin of Trump's support. Fear. Hatred. Anger. Complex problems solved with remedial answers. Blame little brown people for all your shortcomings in life. Yes it's OK to be racist after all. This is the secret of Trump's "success" .

Enjoy the flameout. This insane candidacy is toast...

4 ( +6 / -2 )

"verbal missteps"

Like when Trump was having fun with the crying baby and said "Get the baby out of here," and afterwards in an interview the mother said it was all in fun and didn't have a problem with what Trump said, but the media cries "Trump throws baby out of rall" lol

And this is interesting: "New developments in Hillary Clinton pay for play scandal" ( Fox News, where else? )

-12 ( +1 / -13 )

The incompetence is staggering. Trump has had so many open goals with Clinton but instead of rolling the ball into an empty goal he turns around and punches a defender.

Leaving aside the ignorance of issues and dinner bells for racists, bigots and nutters, this man is incapable of running a half-decent campaign. He should be savaging Clinton but spends most of his time on damage limitation.

A ridiculous candidate.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Here's a conundrum for the five Trump fans on JT. How can we tell if it was real sarcasm, and not a cynical excuse to get away with immature, indefensible ideas?

We don't give a shit. Sorry, have to go, Speed Racer is coming on next.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Yeah, sounds like a pretty true Republican. Never his fault. What about Obama? Always the media. Just being sarcastic and it was twisted out of context.

Despite Trump repeating what he said SEVERAL times and saying he meant it, he's not saying he didn't.

Classy as always, Republicans.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

That NBC! Daring to quote Trump, and IN CONTEXT!!!

"NEW: Donald Trump says only way Hillary Clinton can win Pennsylvania "is if cheating goes on;" does not specify if he is being sarcastic."

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Trump is winning this election for Clinton.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Hmmm, so the GOP's plan is to plead for Wikileaks or other illegal hackers to save their bacon. All that party of law and order posturing was sarcasm or lies?

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Er, Bass old pal, you do know that Trump is merely being sarcastic when he rants against the elites,

No, I don't believe for a minute he's being sarcastic, because if he were, he wouldn't be getting this kind of heat. One thing about Trump, he doesn't like to be attacked-EVER and if he thought even for a second this was some kind of joke, he wouldn't be piling on the media and they wouldn't do the same.

the rigged election, and all that noise.

He's definitely right about that, most Americans know it, Bernie knew it, the Wikileaks mails confirmed it. So, he and everyone that is agains the Washington elite needs to make some noise about it.

You don't believe that mainstream media companies sold his books, created his TV programs? And you claim to have insight as a media industry figure yourself?

Yes, as most people do and that's far different than running as an outsider for the highest political office of the US.

-12 ( +1 / -13 )

Torafusu...I agree with you as well..Trump is NOT an outsider...neither is Clinton. Either way the old guard remains intact...which is a sad state of affairs for the U.S.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

If nothing else, Trump's campaign is going to go in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest running comedy-show in history. Thanks for the laughs Donald.

Backed by a corrupt Washington elite. Yup, Trump was absolutely right, the system be damned and the system be rigged. So this is what Washington fascism looks like.

Trump's plan to destroy the GOP was genius: say something indefensible, let the GOP try to defend, and then say it was just a joke. (repost)

4 ( +6 / -2 )

What does he think we are, idiots?

@OssanAmerica

Although he might not think we are all idiots, he is definitely running on the premise that there are enough idiots in the population to swing the vote in his favor. After all, Trump himself has proudly boasted that he loves the "poorly educated."

We are, as they say, in a post-truth world, and just calling it "verbal missteps" really just reinforces that zeitgeist.

@Moonraker

So very true. On the one side you have Trump who claims "verbal missteps" and that his sarcasm was "misunderstood" (he is misunderstood a lot for a person who is known as a candidate who "tells it like it is"). Then on the other side is HRC who regularly claims to have "misspoke" or "short circuited" and is continually putting herself in compromising situations played down as merely "bad optics." Euphemisms and obfuscation galore.

Given the dishonesty of both candidates and the outrage against them, whoever wins could become faced with impeachment early on.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Here's a conundrum for the five Trump fans on JT. How can we tell if it was real sarcasm, and not a cynical excuse to get away with immature, indefensible ideas?

It’s the media’s fault. That’s out of context. Never said it in the first place.
