Kamal Khan, 25, who is unemployed, said the official story “looks fishy to me.”

Based on this bit of information, I now have my doubts!

secret CIA prison sites in Eastern Europe

Sounds like one of those black sites that Obama was so against while running for president. Ironically, they have led to his successful killing of Osama.

Who knows? A video of his killing maybe leaked (intentionally or not...we live in the era of social media after all)...but to for those who choose to believe he may still be alive, he will be...in the same way that Elvis may be hiding someone, the moon was never landed on or Kennedy may have been killed by the CIA...

Haha, let WikiLeaks be the final arbiter, right?!

Sooner or later, WikiLeaks will leak the truth, then everybody could finally agree. That's how it works.

Come to think of it, what if WikiLeaks got ahold of this years-long operation.......... would WikiLeaks have published it and thus alerting Bin Laden? Hmmmmm............. food for thought..........

I hear that Donald Trump is asking for the death certificate.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I do not believe he is dead at all. Fake conspiracy for sure.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I trust absolutely nothing coming from the US government.

And this stance has nothing to do with conspiracy theory.

I am sure we don't have the whole story. What exactly happened at those last moments will be of great interest to a lot of people. Whether it is better to release them or keep them hidden for now is another matter. Yet, I don't think they'd tell a flat-out lie about something this big, as exposure would be just too embarrassing. This brings closure to a cycle that has been going on for a decade, not only for those directly involved, but also those pained by the events.

Sure, there may be other events, there probably will. But that doesn't mean that there wasn't a (rough) justice performed here or that it hasn't been shown that, sooner or later, justice does catch up with even the craftiest fugitives. Consider him someone who committed crimes against humanity- and if you include all the people who have died since as a result of his actions, this is easy to assert- and you will see how necessary some sort of punishment was.

I suppose a little skepticism is reasonable right now, but think for a moment: how does one ever determine the truth of anything? By the "convergence of evidence." More of these will be revealed, and hopefully the details will erase any possible doubts. To continue denying that it actually occurred after that puts the story on the same level as spottings of Elvis or Bigfoot.

that was classic DerekJ.

As was stated whatever they release there will always be people who won't believe, even some on this site. And there was no way they wanted bin Ladin's body preserved. The sea burial was the right call.

"Halfway around the world, a prominent al-Qaida commentator vowed revenge for bin Laden’s death."

Will they they retaliate? Maybe. But I'll bet a lot of these terror minded people are going to be looking over their shoulder and might even be on the run at this moment.

I have been watching the news here in Indonesia since the story broke. In the hotel here we get all the major news networks, and for those of you who think this is a hoax, when Aljazeera is even reporting that he is dead, you can believe he is dead. It is interesting that the only entity to issue a statement condemning the killing is Hamas who claim he was a "holy Muslim warrior". One former Pakistani official claimed that the killing was unnecessarhy because Bin Ladin was "in retirement".

I hear that Donald Trump is asking for the death certificate.

can we put this joke to bed now? It was funny the first time I read it, but it got stale around #1000

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Dear or alive, US gov't can't expose him now as a trophy. Or risk making bin Laden a martyr or another victim of US-Israel friendship. Obama is way too smart to show videos or photos of him now.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Ossama made a tape talking about this event in the past tense and will be sent to the media.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

@TumbleDry:

If that is so, it will be aired on Aljazeera. They have been the media outlet for Al-Qaeda.

The photos have been out since yesterday. I can see why people might question them, but I think the use of photoshop, whilst helping people to see the similarities, should be stated as such.

Instead, Obama signed an order on Friday for a team of SEALs to chopper onto the compound under the cover of darkness. In the ensuing 48 hours, the president toured tornado-damaged Alabama and delivered a joke-filled after-dinner speech to the White House Correspondents Association.

I watched a vid of the Correspondents Dinner the other day and thought that Obama had an unusual edge to him as he tore into Trump and birtherism. At the time, I thought it was due to the release of his long-form; now it seems he was delighting in something far more significant. Watch it if you have a chance.

"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." --Martin Luther King, Jr.

All those hard drives the Seals picked up... nice. Get to it USA. Stop them. Stop them from killing, sowing fear and hatred. Let's get them all locked up within a concrete paradise called prison.

And now the GOP is heading down the 'deather' road. They are clamoring for the death cert. Unbelievable! OBL is dead. The Bin has been put out. Alive would have been better, but he is no more. He is deceased. Passed away...

Photos have not been released. The photos that have been "out" since yesterday are fakes (and really bad ones at that).

SiouxChef, thank you for the clarification.

A co-worker's husband who is an Army doctor in Iraq told her he saw photos shortly after. She said he described a head closeup that showed one eye opened but only white was visible, the other eye was just a mangled, bloody socket, and there was a bullet wound in the forehead.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sounds like the one I saw on Japanese Ch2 under Bin Ladin. If SiouxChef is right, it's a fake.

“For my family and I, it’s good"

"My family and me", surely?

Is anyone getting the $25 million reward?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

OK, so no one could figure out where he was until they overheard his trusty driver yakking on his cell phone...I can imagine overhearing something like:

"Yes, dear, I'll pick up the groceries later. I'm about to go pick up Osama Bin Ladin right now, though. He wants to go bowling...", and then the Bright Lights figured it must OBL living at that "specially constructed $1 million compound with walls as high as 18 feet topped with barbed wire."

How many of those compounds are there in that city, for pity's sake? Hundreds? One? Seems like a "dead" giveaway to me.

I wonder if even these photos would quell and pacify the disorganized, one-sided minds of conspiracy nut jobs.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

No rejoicing here, his victims cannot be revived and it would disrespect them. But hats off to those who planned and even more so to those who implemented this mission.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I understand US people's happiness bin laden was finally snuffed-off.

The street parties, however, should cease now. Any more would be ghoulish.

I wonder sort of people the special ops team members have to be - cold-blooded, emotionless killers. I know, we need them them to do the dirty work, but imagine having one for a husband, boyfriend or father. Doing that kind of work would make one almost borderline psychotic.

And to think the CIA could have killed OBL during the Clinton years if CLinton hadn't refused the plan at the last minute.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

manfromamerica: go watch the following: Clinton interview on FOX on youtube (moderator, please fix your pseudo offensive whatever check)

watch?v=7DI7u-TytRU

and

watch?v=3L2513JFJsY

but stay in denial about it if you want.

the disorganized, one-sided minds of conspiracy nut jobs.

At least these guys are asking the questions and expecting accountability from the government.

The sheep keep walking into the electric fence.

Doing that kind of work would make one almost borderline psychotic.

Reminds me of that Caddyshack line:

"I'm no slouch myself."

"C'mon, Judge, you're a tremendous slouch!"

Military history is filling the States with a slew of tremendous psychotics.

Borderline psychotic - could be used to describe such specialist operators I suppose.

DentShop: The sheep keep walking into the electric fence.

And this is the real motivation behind conspiracy theorists.... The fact is that there has never been a major world event that didn't include a conspiracy theory. Hell, if you want a great debate then lock two people into a room, one who believes OBL never existed and one who believes he wasn't killed 2 days ago. But that would never happen. Rule #1 for conspiracy theorists is to never go up against another conspiracy theory even if the person is talking about the exact same topic. Call it consideration of the crazies.

You want pictures? People will say they are photoshopped. Want video? People will say it was doctored or wasn't him. Want DNA? People will say it's fake. We have people walking around saying the holocaust never happened, what makes you think people like that suddenly went away overnight?

It all comes down to one thing: Some people just want to feel that they are special. They want to feel like they have "inside knowledge" that the average Joe just isn't smart enough to pick up on. They want to feel like they are so much better that they aren't going to be hoodwinked into accepted what other people accept. DentShop said it best when he says that others are just sheep walking into electrical fences. He's really talking about himself, and he wants the world to know that he's not a sheep. Until those insecurities are satisfied he'll simply continue to use world events as a crutch.

@TumbleDry, their "offensive post check" isn't broken, it's working exactly as they want it to. It flags any URL, regardless of destination, as "potentially offensive" - including links to other JT articles. You have to lobotomize the URL by removing everything up to the first dot and changing the other dots in the URL to " (dot) ". Any underscores in the URL will not show and instead change the displayed font from normal to italic and back. This renders the URL unclickable so JT can't get sued if someone sneaks a link to a virus onto the forum. The reader will have to reconstruct the link on their own.

For example, note the change to italics and back in the following Wikipedia URL that had underscores:

en (dot) wikipedia (dot) org/wiki/Death_of_Osama_bin_Laden

Borderline psychotic would be apropos. Special Ops need to have tough minds, in situations that would normally crack the psyche of regular people. They can't lose their minds in those situations, keep a cool head. Basically subjecting themselves to masochistic ordeals, without crossing onto the insanity side.

Anyways, in this day and digital age, in the land of Twitter and Youtube (a Pakistani IT guy on vacation was even live-Tweeting the air raid as it was happening, unknowing it's history in the making), instant messenging, cameras in every device, and organizations like WikiLeaks and Anonymous waiting to catch any data that slips thru the Net, it'd be difficult and unwise to stage such an elaborate (with so many personnel involved) and high-profile (the Prez of US in person went in front of the world) drama. Someone somewhere somehow would had leaked that something was amiss. The details may be points of contention, but when even Al-Qaeda acknowledges the death of their leader (and no way they'd go along with any US plot), it's happened.

does the u s a really expect the world to believe they have killed bin-laden where is the proof. there isnt any. wheres the body. there isn`t one. a few pictures, a few carefully chosen words. can we not see the dirty hand of george bush here, the Rumsfeld influence is also to be seen. to many convienant coincidences happening here. to many bad political situations going on for obama, lets create a situation to make the country feel good. am i a cynic, yes! am i a pragmatist, yes!

this is as fake as the moon landing!!!!! the picture is 100% photoshopped!!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

They will have to release the gruesome photo, I predict. Otherwise, we will be looking another "show us the birth certificate" slog.

this is as fake as the moon landing!!!!! the picture is 100% photoshopped!!

LOL. Get a grip shipmate. No kidding the picture you speak of looks fake and photoshopped; no official photos have been released yet.

Fadamor: I know it working as they maybe want to but I find this functionality inconvenient in an argument. So, they should fix/improve/whatever it.

smartacus at 10:33 PM JST - 3rd May. I wonder sort of people the special ops team members have to be - cold-blooded, emotionless killers.

They are very best at what they do. Special Ops had to make key decisions that have the capacity to affect a large number of people all over the world. They have ingrained sense of responsibility must be at the very core of every Special Ops personality. If given a mission, and the time that they have to do it in. There is very little time to think things through. Whats more, on the ground, in the midst of a mission, they have to make a split second decision. It might even be a matter of life and death for him, or his colleagues and they have deep sense of integrity and must be able to conduct their mission with honesty and fortitude.

Bin Laden's death should be celebrated. He had become to those outsidde it the face of modern Islam. They can do better now that he has been killed by our relentless and superbly-trained special forces, the best in the world.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

tumble - just read about it - the CIA had the plan and the personnel in place to take out OBL, but Clinton said "no".

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Release photos in black and white if that helps, but by all means release them. Obama manages to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

No, don`t release the pictures just yet. Wait awhile !!!!!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

According to the U.S. account, the assault team came away with hard drives, DVDs, documents and more that might tip U.S. intelligence to al-Qaida’s operational details and perhaps lead the manhunt to the presumed next-in-command, Ayman al-Zawahri. The CIA is already going over the material.

I bet this new intelligence will point them in the direction they wanted to go.
