I am sure we don't have the whole story. What exactly happened at those last moments will be of great interest to a lot of people. Whether it is better to release them or keep them hidden for now is another matter. Yet, I don't think they'd tell a flat-out lie about something this big, as exposure would be just too embarrassing. This brings closure to a cycle that has been going on for a decade, not only for those directly involved, but also those pained by the events.

Sure, there may be other events, there probably will. But that doesn't mean that there wasn't a (rough) justice performed here or that it hasn't been shown that, sooner or later, justice does catch up with even the craftiest fugitives. Consider him someone who committed crimes against humanity- and if you include all the people who have died since as a result of his actions, this is easy to assert- and you will see how necessary some sort of punishment was.

I suppose a little skepticism is reasonable right now, but think for a moment: how does one ever determine the truth of anything? By the "convergence of evidence." More of these will be revealed, and hopefully the details will erase any possible doubts. To continue denying that it actually occurred after that puts the story on the same level as spottings of Elvis or Bigfoot.

As was stated whatever they release there will always be people who won't believe, even some on this site. And there was no way they wanted bin Ladin's body preserved. The sea burial was the right call.

I have been watching the news here in Indonesia since the story broke. In the hotel here we get all the major news networks, and for those of you who think this is a hoax, when Aljazeera is even reporting that he is dead, you can believe he is dead. It is interesting that the only entity to issue a statement condemning the killing is Hamas who claim he was a "holy Muslim warrior". One former Pakistani official claimed that the killing was unnecessarhy because Bin Ladin was "in retirement".

A co-worker's husband who is an Army doctor in Iraq told her he saw photos shortly after. She said he described a head closeup that showed one eye opened but only white was visible, the other eye was just a mangled, bloody socket, and there was a bullet wound in the forehead.

And this is the real motivation behind conspiracy theorists.... The fact is that there has never been a major world event that didn't include a conspiracy theory. Hell, if you want a great debate then lock two people into a room, one who believes OBL never existed and one who believes he wasn't killed 2 days ago. But that would never happen. Rule #1 for conspiracy theorists is to never go up against another conspiracy theory even if the person is talking about the exact same topic. Call it consideration of the crazies.

You want pictures? People will say they are photoshopped. Want video? People will say it was doctored or wasn't him. Want DNA? People will say it's fake. We have people walking around saying the holocaust never happened, what makes you think people like that suddenly went away overnight?

It all comes down to one thing: Some people just want to feel that they are special. They want to feel like they have "inside knowledge" that the average Joe just isn't smart enough to pick up on. They want to feel like they are so much better that they aren't going to be hoodwinked into accepted what other people accept. It flags any URL, regardless of destination, as "potentially offensive" - including links to other JT articles. You have to lobotomize the URL by removing everything up to the first dot and changing the other dots in the URL to " (dot) ". Any underscores in the URL will not show and instead change the displayed font from normal to italic and back. This renders the URL unclickable so JT can't get sued if someone sneaks a link to a virus onto the forum. The reader will have to reconstruct the link on their own.

Borderline psychotic would be apropos. Special Ops need to have tough minds, in situations that would normally crack the psyche of regular people. Anyways, in this day and digital age, in the land of Twitter and Youtube (a Pakistani IT guy on vacation was even live-Tweeting the air raid as it was happening, unknowing it's history in the making), instant messenging, cameras in every device, and organizations like WikiLeaks and Anonymous waiting to catch any data that slips thru the Net, it'd be difficult and unwise to stage such an elaborate (with so many personnel involved) and high-profile (the Prez of US in person went in front of the world) drama. Someone somewhere somehow would had leaked that something was amiss. The details may be points of contention, but when even Al-Qaeda acknowledges the death of their leader (and no way they'd go along with any US plot), it's happened.

They are very best at what they do. Special Ops had to make key decisions that have the capacity to affect a large number of people all over the world. They have ingrained sense of responsibility must be at the very core of every Special Ops personality. If given a mission, and the time that they have to do it in. There is very little time to think things through. Whats more, on the ground, in the midst of a mission, they have to make a split second decision. It might even be a matter of life and death for him, or his colleagues and they have deep sense of integrity and must be able to conduct their mission with honesty and fortitude.

Bin Laden's death should be celebrated.He had become to those outsidde it the face of modern Islam. They can do better now that he has been killed by our relentless and superbly-trained special forces, the best in the world.
