What is your point? The Israeli regime murdered a Canadian UN observer in Lebanon. Even Kofi Anan stated he believed the killing was intentional.

lol, and theres an impartial witness if ever I saw one. Hehe. So funny.

Theoretically, Mr. I'madinnerjacket is right. Capitalism creates disparities. It can be abused, but I don't think it can be blamed. Obviously, he was preaching to the choir.

Ok, we disagree on just about everything, but that was the best nickname for dinny I've seen.

The Koran has proven that poverty didn't exist until capitalism showed up.

"Ahmadinejad blames capitalism for poverty "

I blame the medical profession for old people.

I blame Henry Ford for making my bus late this morning.

Can anyone think of some others?

I blame Bill Gates for crashing my computer.

Walking out on someone at the UN is just childish. Especially when the speaker is a man of peace, like Ahmadinejad

I agree, walking out of any conference is childish. Much like when UN had a conference on racism and countries blamed Israel for apartheid and racism and they walked out together with USA. At an international stage, you cannot simply walk out just because you hear things people don't like. That is childish behavior.

Sabiwabi...you crack me up dude...Does anyone in the civilized world actually listen to this blathering idiot?

Perhaps you could point that part of the article out to me? I don't see anything about it or Israel.

Again, the article is about the anti-poverty summit. I read it and I believe I am keeping up just fine. Thus my question to you.

Actually, it is about the Iranian's president's opinions about poverty. As such, it is fair to discuss Iran and its policies. I have to confess, I am not quite sure how Israel is supposed to fit in the discussion though.

It was related to the mindset of the leaders of the country whose representatives childishly walked out on Ahmadinejad while he was expressing those views. Try to keep up...

I think the point is that this article is about Iran.

The regime in Iran has tortured to death Canadians in their captivity. How was Harper wrong?

The audience sounded well-lubricated too, reminded me of some strip joints I have been in, especially the wild cheering at the "they threaten Canada too" line.

sabiwabi:

LOL! Well, of course that depends on how one defines "peace".

Canada, the country with this clown as a leader:

Just watched the YouTube video. No surprise then the Canadian delegation walked out at the UN. Regardless of your position on Israel, that was a strange, over-the-top performance by Harper. The audience sounded well-lubricated too, reminded me of some strip joints I have been in, especially the wild cheering at the "they threaten Canada too" line. I know it was a "we are with you" line, but who cheers when they are told they are under threat? Bizarre.

If the Americans want him they can have him. Maybe a trade could be arranged.

and the fact that we do not have a free market.

I don't know who 'we' is. However, neither does Iran.

sabi: Walking out on someone at the UN is just childish. Especially when the speaker is a man of peace, like Ahmadinejad.

Ahmedinejad supports and finances internationally recognized terrorist groups like Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad. Not to mention he's a holocaust-denier and allied with neo-Nazi David Duke. So why would anyone listen to this evil Lilliputian for a second?

Good on Canada for walking out. What a sad day for America when it has to look toward Canada for its moral compass.

Canadian delegates, to the honor of their country, walked out...

Ah yes, Canada, the same country that banned George Galloway on grounds of national security. Canada, the country with this clown as a leader:

Obama makes me ashamed to be an American citizen.

I am no fan of Obama, but there are plenty more reasons to be ashamed to be an American.

Ahmadinejihad's rant was done before a UN audience. Canadian delegates, to the honor of their country, walked out on this lunatic. American delegates, however, for the first time ever, remained and listened in polite deference, no doubt on orders from the WH. Obama makes me ashamed to be an American citizen.

The problem is not capitalism. Its the debt-based monetary system that is screwing things up, and the fact that we do not have a free market.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Actually he is right, "capitalism" is the source of all problems. The problem though is that what is called "capitalism" is not capitalism.

Capitalism and market economies do not exist in any country where A) banks are not held accountable for their losses or held responsible for lending to un-creditworthy borrowers, or B) where the price of money is not set by the market but is set through a central planning authority.

"The past instability of the market economy is the consequence of the exclusion of the most important regulator of the market mechanism, money, from itself being regulated by the market process."

Not sure how people can wave around their copies of "The Road to Serfdom" while ignoring that the same guy said that, but they do.

Just shoring up his cred with lefties outside the theocratic dystopia of Iran.

Communism and Socialism have 1 goal, that is to put everyone on the same level. They do this by pushing the successful people down, to the level of the unsuccessful. However they must have a ruling class, and this ruling class does much better then the proles. Not only that, but the ruling class is typically hereditary, meaning upward mobility is very hard.

Capitalism on the other hand works by pulling people up. I envision a hand. Pushing against some pliant material. Communism and Socialism pushes everyone down, but a little bit squirts through the fingers. Conversely capitalism pulls people up, but again, there is some that slips through the fingers. Thus people succeed more under Capitalism, having a better quality of life, greater freedom, and a chance at upward progress. The problem is, its more difficult to control, which dictators hate, and because so many people are so well off, its easy to see significant differences between those who have, and those who have not. Thus it gets a lot of unfair criticism for causing the have-nots. And of course Dictators such as Din-Din can't stand it. Too much freedom for their people.

Sure look at all the successful dictatorships of the commie/socialist kind. Oppression, genocide, sever poverty and unemployment. This idiot has proven his level of thinking is not very high for a leader of a country. What is wrong with countries and leaders like this?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Guess he didn't know about the double-digit unemployment rate over the last decade in his own country. http://www.indexmundi.com/iran/unemployment_rate.html

What a maroon. Some degree of capitalism is necessary to have a thriving economy. That is why socialism is working but communism never really did.

This guy is clueless.
