Quite a few news sites in Canada are raising the suspicion flag on this. Sounds a lot like she hid and is probably trying to get money out of this whole deal. A Quebec to Toronto flight is like 1.5 hours.

She could have turned the plane engines on and powered her phone to call for help...as commercial jets don't actually require keys to start up.

Back in the day, when they left the drink cart at the rear of the plane (pineapple juice!), I awoke to find the plane totally evacuated and the cleaning crew ascending. I learned that if you're an idiot, nó one will help you.

Not a lot of sympathy from here for her, but then we do not know the full story. Who could sleep through all of that without being drunk or under heavy sedation? Will she be suing for stubbing her toe, etc.?

Colour me skeptical too. I can&t imagine the flight attendants would leave her in the "asleep position" stretched out horizontally during the landing process. They always make sure everyone is buckled in and the seats are upright.

I didn't question the story at all until I came to that line. Sure sounds like she wants money. Night terrors... poor thing.

The captain is supposed to be the last person off the plane and is supposed to check before they leave.

Many years ago, I also woke up alone being locked away in a last train in the station yard, I mean, the last train for the station in the daytime. I was completely trapped, no mobile-phone. But after a while the train moved back as the first train of the day to the station I had failed to get off. Very embarrassing episode. :‑( & :‑)

I work for an airline and this just couldn’t conceivably happen as everyone needs to be upright for takeoff/landing and the flight attendants just wouldn’t leave her asleep out of politeness. Plus, aircraft are cleaned in between flights and mechanics would be on board when towed to the hangar and they’d notice a sleeper still onboard plus the flight crew can’t leave the aircraft until all passengers have deplaned. My professional opinion is this lady’s story is pure fiction. My question is, they have torches in the cockpit? They wouldn’t have flammable items onboard, they would, however, have flashlights.

Struggling with night terrors seems a bit extreme, Tiffani. You weren't kidnapped, you were locked in a plane for a few hours, and most of that time you were asleep. At worst, someone would have found you early the next morning when they prepped the plane for the first flight of the day. If this is the worst thing that ever happens to you in your lifetime, you'll have lived a charmed life. However, based on your emoji and exclamation point-laden FB post, you seem to have a low tolerance for stress.

I wouldn't say she was an idiot. This can be very scary and startling when you wake up in such a situation. Sounds like the flight attendants were incompetent.

Interesting story. I flew air canada to Japan once because their tickets prices were the cheapest. I wouldn't want to fly them again.

I think Air Canada's Insurers should be a bit more than concerned, about potential theft, or now Terrorist issues. Seriously right now, were I to wish to blow up a plane, I'd get a follower to do just as this Woman purportedly did, hide from disembarkation, then after everyone's gone, open up a hatch, and let a ground based colleague / bomber onboard, plant their device, and go...

This, if it really happened, is a Serious breach of Security, and Air Canada + other Airlines needs to wake up and do both an onboarding/offboarding count!!
