Terrible situation. Besides water and food, the toilets must really be stressful/

Not in NYC. NYC should've been able to cope with this.

I like Bloombergs Rumsfeltian "go to war with the army you have not want"excuse...

Bloomberg, a third-term Republican-turned-independent who is occasionally mentioned as a long-shot presidential candidate,

Thats funny. The elite Lib media just can't help a dig at the Repubs. Losing 65 seats in the last election must really hurt. Bloomberg is about as Repub as Lieberman is true blue Dem.

He is too short to ever be prez. Just ask Dukakis.

Yes, NYC should have been much more prepared for this storm... we went through one just as bad in 96' while I was still driving an ambulance. We were able to get through still because the sanitation dept. had all boroughs plowed and the bridges were cleared. This time we can clearly say the union was at fault. Too bad JT won't let me put up a youtube link. check it out, New York City Sanitation Worker Wrecks Ford Explorer via a google search.

Union workers at their best

New York should take lesson from Chicago. Chicago old machine poltics lost because of an idiotic mayor who came back from vacation denying there's a snow problem ( the city was " shut down " for a few days ). That was the beginning of the end .....

Bush: "You're doin' heckava job Bloomy!"

This should put this piece of crap out of politics for good. Nurse your wounds in the 1st class restroom, Bloomy.

People living on welfare could have been handed shovels and ask to help out. Would have been a nice gesture to the tax paying residents.

There are stories from city workers that their supervisors told them to intentionally slow down the cleanup work as a protest to incoming budget cuts.

Union bums refused to remove the snow. Why take it out on the unemployed ?

Ok, I get the rap on Bloomberg, he's the mayor, and when it comes down to it, he's the one who gets hit for it. But Christie? Come on, he's the Governor of a state, he has absolutely nothing to do with snow removal. Why the hell shouldn't he be allowed to take a vacation? And whats he gonna do, rush back to NJ because some communities didn't bother to prepare for snow? When it comes down to it, the 3rd in charge there can easily handle everything that comes up. And if there really is an emergency that he needs to deal with, you know he'd return, but a big snow storm does not qualify.
