honestly, I was hoping this AQ thing would go away once Obama got elected.

Why would it go away skipthesong? AQ is still a very serious threat.

So is this what the government has decided on to scare the population this year?

noliving: No, I really thought much of this would calm down.... I was told countless times the whole reason AQ and much of the Muslim world hates is because of GWB.... he's out now.

LOL, yes, that was the storyline. Now, the leftist loons are in charge, and see how successful the appeasing of radical islam is... not.

Memo to Hillary:

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again.

But if the W House is so, so sure about hidden nukes then go ahead, bombs away!! Go forth and make yourselves useful :)

If Iran has nukes, best believe that they will sell them to the highest bidder. We are not talking about Little Boys here, our technology now is far more advanced to make a shoebox nuke. It will only be a matter of time before someone with a short temper and a lack of civility to use one for their own personal gain.

“A 10-kiloton nuclear bomb detonated in Times Square in New York City would kill a million people,” Clinton said, referring to a weapon with explosive power about half that of the U.S. bomb dropped on the Japanese city of Nagasaki in August 1945, killing an estimated 80,000.

That was back in 1945, the population has exploded since then. I would believe more than a million would die, almost all of NYC would be dead and parts of NJ and surrounding areas effected by the nuclear winter.

Your 'shoebox nuke' sounds more like the 'aluminium tubes' used by the Blair Cabinet Office back in the good 'ol-days. (And like you they also lied about the highest-bidder thing) BUT THESE are all worse-case scenarios you're applying, and I'm certainly afraid... very afraid.

But if diplomatic efforts fail on the back of American-Israeli hysteria (and sexed-up dossier) then the State Department is to blame.

Wouldn't you agree?

After all, whose legs are we pulling here when it comes to half-baked intelligence. We've seen the consequences of the other one (IRAQ)-- and I seriously doubt that a single tax-payer like yours directly benefited from it.

A 10-kiloton nuclear bomb is a serious business. It's rather odd to use a 10-kiloton nuclear bomb only to grab headlines, or to stir debates. Nagasaki (and Hiroshima) bombing is a sacred period of our Asian history. Even the Iranians are respectful & conscious of the importance of both Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Their parliament speaker recently visited the Nagasaki Museum to pay his respect to that very emotional and significant part of Asian history.
