He may be free to say what he wants, but he doesn't the freedom from the consequences. Of course slander and libel aren't protected free speech either.

Twenty first-graders and six educators were killed in the December 2012 shooting. The gunman, 20-year-old Adam Lanza, killed his mother at their Newtown home before the shooting, and killed himself at the school as police arrived, officials said.

The shooting was portrayed on Jones’ Infowars show as a hoax involving actors aimed at increasing gun control. Jones has since acknowledged the school shooting did occur.

You can't get more repulsive than this guy - another hero of the far-right....

He deserves everything he gets - and more...

All but $10K of his networth should be the fine. Take everything else - houses, cars, microphones, computers, EVERYTHING and sell it all to provide.

He was very nasty about it, even when confronted by facts and kept going. That cannot be allowed. There are expectations that people spouting lies over and over and over need to tell the truth when it is clear they are lying.

A verbal and written disclaimer that says "for entertainment only, we lie" should be required for any public statements he makes, write, until the end of his life, going forward. If he was on TV or radio, he would have lost his license. Sadly, the internet doesn't have those protections for lying.

There are places where outlandish lies are told, for fun. The Onion is one. Quite funny.

https://www.theonion.com/ For example, the headline there is "Patrick Leahy Announces He Won’t Seek Reelection To Make Room For Next Generation Of 70-Year-Olds" Clearly satire.

Not being an American, I don’t know much about this guy, but I see him regularly being reviled by people here whose worldviews I generally agree with. Now I’ve read this article, I understand their antipathy. What a lowlife.
