Almost 90,000 sexual abuse claims expected against U.S. Boy Scouts

Adults with children of both sexes...like a school.

If the Scouts were in reality like a school, there would not have been so many young boys violated by men on camping trips and other outdoor activities. But in a way you do have a point- a lot of children are sexually abused by teachers as well.

Boy, maybe instead of whining about trans people, we can pass some laws banning catholic priests and scoutmasters from the boys’ room. That might actually reduce instances of sexual abuse.

I did the pine wood derby. Glad I didn't stick with Scouts to be molested.

My dad and I didn't stick around Boy Scouts for long. Too many bullies and the camp outs were out of control.

I don't understand the allure. We steered all of our children to youth sports and footracing, which also build character and fitness and self-confidence. And they weren't molested.

Well, consider the sexual abuse of young gymnastics athletes in the US. Kids in sports are as vulnerable as kids in Boy Scouts, especially if there is overnight team travel. Parental involvement and supervision are key regardless of the activity.

This is all public knowledge, yet the Boy Scouts are aggressively expanding all over the world. They have troops in most cities in Asia now (including Dhaka, Phnom Penh, Penang, Chiang Mai, etc.)

South Park is ALWAYS right.  Their recent presidential parodies and take on SJW (PC Principal and crew) have been their latest predictions come true.

It is a typical suit in the USA courts. A Scout does not have to prove anything. Fill out the application, and the check is in the mail. It is a very sad situation in USA law.

Edit... if such behaviour existed, nothing...

In the scouts at school, but if such behaviour, existed nothing like that was even hinted at back then. I think I'd have to join Wakarimasen above.

Happened in the Wolfcub pack that I was in (they are the pre-scouts). A group related to the local church too!

The scouts were pretty inocuous, a school troop attached to a boarding school, which was dangerous enough! There were always some older boys trying to get their hands down your sleeping bag on camping trips!

Looks like the priests weren't so bad after all.

Being both Catholic and having Scouted, either I was lucky or I have some form of repressed memory syndrome.

Well, I guess I was lucky. My experiences with the Boy Scouts were mostly fun. Especially the snipe hunt. But I didn't get many merit badges.
