That does not follow.

For most liberals I agree.

But if you believe there is voter suppression, then we can also believe there is significant voter fraud as well

That does not follow either.

Denial of facts never helped liberals, logic.

African Americans can topple Trump in November

But since Biden won’t defund the police and blacks overall are less enthusiastic about Biden and fear of of the country descending into chaos will help more whites come out in November.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

If you make the claim that there is voter suppression Obama would have never won

That does not follow.

But if you believe there is voter suppression, then we can also believe there is significant voter fraud as well

That does not follow either.

A logic car crash.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Proof please! I pretty sure not as many as Blacks.

Blacks didn't free themselves hundreds of Whites died and were beaten, tortured and butchered for helping Blacks and sad to say, most Blacks don't even know this because it's not taught in schools. Woke and cancel politics are the subjects that these kids learn....as if that will help them get a job in the future....

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

Despite the tactics of voter suppression working against them, black people are one of the most stable voting blocs in the US.

If you make the claim that there is voter suppression Obama would have never won....twice. But if you believe there is voter suppression, then we can also believe there is significant voter fraud as well.

The few freed Blacks with enough money to buy their family and friends out of bondage and used the US laws on slavery with legal documents to stop slave hunters from simply kidnapping them again and taking them to the south to be sold or to specific white slaveowners.

It wasn't as many people think it was, but yes, it did happen on occasion.

If you proof of ownership then under US law, the can reclaim their slave from anyone.

Again, it depends, most freed blacks didn't have to worry about being kidnapped and forced back into slavery as one might think, the biggest risk were to those that would actually go back to the South to try and free their families, but then again, news didn't travel as fast and it took two years later after the fact for many blacks to realize that slavery was over.

Reading and learning are your friends!

I agree.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

We're saying, however, it doesn't make it special and unique.

Well, what's special (today) is how the US is shamefully locking up blacks so much for stupid reasons. The incarceration rate of the US is at least 10x that of Japan. I'm a white American and I don't like my tax money going to America's incarceration complex. Slavery is in the past. I want to work on America's mass incarceration problem. That is how the US is uniquely bad.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Biden and the dems can only dream of attracting that many

What constructive things does Trump say at the rallies other than blaming Hillary for everything and people should inject Mr. Clearn to fight CV? I even heard that Trump thinks Finland is part of Russia.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Mr.Noidall

More whites died fighting against slavery than those who died for it.

Proof please! I pretty sure not as many as Blacks.

@Black

Its just sad that the opinion of whites is that Black people can do nothing on their own. have to keep the constant illusion of victimhood going. Kaepernick cant just competed and if good enough, get a spot. He has to be guaranteed it due to the color of his skin.

More in the bubble thinking by conservatives to keep their fragile worldview from bursting. If they can't out debate them then they will create a fictional debater that they can win against.

When all else fails, build a "man made of straw."

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

More whites died fighting against slavery than those who died for it.

The UK is better than US because the UK stopped slavery first. But if Trump existed during the civil war he would be on the side of the south.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Its just sad that the opinion of whites is that Black people can do nothing on their own. have to keep the constant illusion of victimhood going. Kaepernick cant just competed and if good enough, get a spot. He has to be guaranteed it due to the color of his skin.

They need the old racist white man to agree to give a Black woman a Supreme Court spot, she could never get it on her own.

In return for the Black vote, of course, as its not really a genuine consideration, just a trade.

Black people are starting to realize all this for what it is. And thankfully are pushing back, to show Black Americans dont need to be given things by whites. but can earn them by competing on equal terms and winning.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

@Noidall

No, they were sold to white settlers. But, I think I see: Africans can't even be explorers. They're just slaves. Got it.

Using more faulty reasoning to explain more faulty logic.

Got it!

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

LOL!

Historians estimate around 3000 free blacks owned slaves themselves

The few freed Blacks with enough money to buy their family and friends out of bondage and used the US laws on slavery with legal documents to stop slave hunters from simply kidnapping them again and taking them to the south to be sold or to specific white slaveowners.

If you proof of ownership then under US law, the can reclaim their slave from anyone.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

The insanity of all of this is that white people are tripping all over themselves to do things Black people didnt even ask for.

Let us get rid of this movie, lets take these Black faces off of food boxes, lets defund the police! we know they bother you sometimes.

lets remove these statues, lets rename all the schools/teams/bases. Lets remove anyone from our history who was ever a slave owner. Jefferson, gone! Washington, gone! Lincoln too or is he ok for you? Did Columbus do anything bad to you?

Lets elect Biden, even we dont want him, cause we think he will be nicer to you than that meanie Trump. Kaepernick back in the NFL is ok? Done! kneel all you want before the national anthem, please!

Let me burn down that Wendy's restaurant for you. Let me attack the police with bricks and burn stuff down! Oh that was a Black owned business? man, sorry about that.

actual Black people have asked for none of this insanity.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

It was good business for African chieftains too

Lots of whites wanted slavery so much that they were willing to die for it - literally. The southern Christians would rather die while trying to hold on to slavery than rely on paying people. Wow, I can't imagine wanting something so bad that I would want to die for it.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

No, they were sold to white settlers

I thought Trump people say that whites had nothing to do with slavery. Wasn't slavery 100% blacks' fault? Whites are not to blame? That is the Trump belief, especially from all the stories in the Bible of good people having slaves.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Africans first arrived

Lots of whites (especially the southern Christians) fought FOR slavery because it was good for their business. They thought that slaves were a right by the Bible.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

@Noidall

Africans first arrived in America in the late 16th century not as slaves but as explorers together with Spanish and Portuguese explorers. One of the best-known of these African “conquistadors” was Estevancio, who traveled throughout the Southeast from present-day Florida to Texas.

Another irrelevant point, white settlers brought African slaves to the Americas over 400 years ago!

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Historians estimate around 3000 free blacks owned slaves themselves

Really? In the USA? And how many white slave owners? So it's 100% blacks' fault for American slavery. This is the belief of TrumpNRA2Aevangelicals

They were in charge of the "system" for 8 years

Well, Trump failed to implement TrumpCare with his first two years with complete Republican control. Also, look at the Trashed Trump economy.

Still had riots

Trump riots are worse. Trump has lost control of the USA

BLM is getting million of dollars of extorted money

Wow, how come Trump is not saying this as well? Trump is a wimp.

 just hate for the man.

Well, Trump hates Hillary and accuses her of all kinds of things like PizzaGate

I do not consider the United States of America as being 410 years old

Trump evangelicals think the earth was created 2,500 years ago. 410 years ago? Maybe around the time white people started exploiting Indians. It's too bad 2A and NRA didn't exist 410 years ago so the Indians could have defended themselves against the Whites.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

The parents of the black and white toddlers in the spoof CNN video Trump retweeted are apparently not happy that this very nice anti-racist video has been turned into rancid trash to further Trump’s divisive war on the media.

Extremely low behaviour at any time. Even more so at this time.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

@Black

I dont see whites benefiting at all.

So, your proof is ancedotal? What you mean is it sucks that people can't benefit from the privilege of simply being white.

Black is now capitalized.

So, that is your litmus test of racial equality.

But there will be a coming backlash, when other minority groups feel left out and want their share.

What an irrelevant comment? You believe asking for equality is the same as racial dominance? What part of equality do you not understand?

So why didnt Obama/Biden work to dismantle this systemic racism? They were in charge of the "system" for 8 years. Still had riots, Blacks killed by police. they did nothing. Why?

What is your proof that they did not? I would like to ask you why didn't the Republicans since the 70's or trump hasn't work to dismantle this systemic racism?

Why hasn't Melania worked to dismantle online bullying?

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Well, given how he's inviting them to a city with its highest COVID infections to date, and will put them all in a virus-pool indoor arena, where masks are "optional", maybe he doesn't mind insulting them...

2 weeks ago you were wishing all the protestors good luck. And all during the riots, you seemed quite unconcerned, via your posts, with the spread of covid19. You're not one of those people who say yes to the democratic and leftists approved gatherings, and then turn around and condemn conservative and Trump gatherings are you? Because that would make all your arguments against Trump seem hypocritical and make it seem like your criticism against Trump is superficial and based on just hate for the man.

Wishing all those pro-Trump far-right white supremacist protesters and domestic terrorists "good luck"? You have me confused with someone else...

But why don't we stay on topic - Tulsa is having its highest infection rates ever, and Trump's own CDC has said any type of large event in a closed venue is dangerous...

So is it dangerous or not?

And if it's not dangerous, why does Trump require all his supporters in attendance to waive their right to sue if they catch the virus?

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Its obviously IS a problem in the USA to this day.

So why didnt Obama/Biden work to dismantle this systemic racism? They were in charge of the "system" for 8 years. Still had riots, Blacks killed by police. they did nothing. Why?

Where is your proof again that racism isn't a problem in the US again?

1 ( +6 / -5 )

I dont see whites benefiting at all. There has never been a better time to be Black.

White people are losing their jobs for not saying Black Lives Matter. CEOs are saying white people should shine Black people's shoes. CEOs are resigning Board positions to give to Black candidates.

BLM is getting million of dollars of extorted money for the Black community to spend on anything. Black criminals are martyrs, even when actively fighting the police. Joe Biden will give a Black woman a Supreme Court job based only on her being black. A subpar NFL player will be guaranteed a job, because of skin color.

Black people can take anything from any store for free, without being arrested, as long as its called a "protest" first. Burn down or remove anything that offends, no consequences. They thank you for checking their "white privilege".

Black is now capitalized.

But there will be a coming backlash, when other minority groups feel left out and want their share. Also, as with everything else, it will go eventually go too far and will need to be brought back to reality quite harshly.

whites are benefiting

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

@Black

Once again, I never said the United States of America. If you believe the age of the United States should be counted from when the first successful settlement was established, then the age of the United States is 410 years old.

Since you never responding to my post above, I wanted to remind you that the first established settlement 410+ years ago were the first to bring African slaves. Therefore, African slaves have been in the US since the beginning.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

We can remove flags and statues all day. But it's the hate in people's heart that needs to be removed.

Indian Slavery Once Thrived in New Mexico. Latinos Are Finding Family Ties to It.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/28/us/indian-slaves-genizaros.html

Once again, faulty logic with your weak comparison! Indian slavery does not compare to the scale and attrocities committed to millions of Africans around the world and in Africa by Europeans.

Please stay on topic!

Where is your proof again that racism isn't a problem in the US again?

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

@LongTermer

Slavery was an accepted institution at the time, all over the world. Its not an institution that aligns with American values.

Yes, enslaving Africans was accepted by mostly whites all over the world. However, we are talking about the US. A country that had a civil war over the right to maintain African slaves. A country that built statues to honor people who fought to keep African slaves as property.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Exactly. A lot of African Americans are seeing through the Dem bs/scam now. November is going to be interesting.

Interesting. You do have some evidence of a lot of African Americans turning away from the Democrats, don’t you?

I saw polls showing Biden absolutely hammering Trump among African Americans, but I’m open to your numbers.

Thanks in advance.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

@Black

The system built by Democrats who have been in Congress as their only job since the 1970s.

Well, there is the source of illogical thinking right there. You think the US has only been racist since the 1970's after the Civil rights movement!

Faulty logic at its finest!

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

@arrestpaul

Black Africans kidnapped by black Africans. Sold into slavery by black Africans. They shouldn't have done that. That wasn't very nice.

OTOH, I see people who were never slaves choosing to blame people who were never slave owners, for slavery.

Another false narrative that continues to be promoted by conservatives to justify slavery and systemic racism. However, whites are benefiting from the same systemic racism still in place.

On the west coast of central Africa in the 1600s, the Portuguese were in the midst of a war with Ndongo, a powerful west African kingdom located between the Lukala and Kwanza rivers, in present-day Angola. In 1618, Portuguese forces aligned with Ndongo’s adversaries, neighboring Imbangala mercenaries, to invade the kingdom. They captured thousands of prisoners to sell into slavery.

Pirates and European countries would use that model and excuse to enslave millions of Africans.

Try again!

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

What sixteen years are you referring to out of the 400 year existence? Why do the Democrats have only a sixteen-year window to make the country

Once again, I never said the United States of America

So what country's 400 year existence are you speaking of? and no, I do not consider the United States of America as being 410 years old, as that is factually incorrect.

The Cherokee Nation recently stripped citizenship from a majority of African-Americans who descended from slaves of wealthy Cherokee Indians before the Civil War.

Its all out there if you care to become educated. This topic is not as simple as the Democratic party election talking points.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Slavery was an accepted institution at the time, all over the world. Its not an institution that aligns with American values.

Long before all this rioting, I felt the AA community was done wrong by the US government. To enslave free then promise something is much more despicable than to move to reservations or in camps, as the Indians and Japanese Americans experienced. There should be a holiday and an effort based reparations grant given.

This would go much further than trying to erase history and other moronic things we are seeing today.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

You obviously don't know the democratic party.

Well, the KKK, David Duke, Bundies, White supremacists, NRA2A people, and Dylan Roof vote Trump. That shows a real sign of something.

Black Africans kidnapped by black Africans. Sold into slavery by black Africans

Really? Were they also owned by black Americans? Let's go through the entire supply chain. It's so funny that TrumpNRA2AEvengalical people think that it's the Blacks' fault that they got into slavery. They think that white people had nothing to do with it.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

I still really want to know who built this supposed systemic racism? Why wasnt it the first thing that OBiden/Bama administration took for action to dismantle? Day One, should have been removed.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

You can, but it doesn't matter if those statues were erected based on false narratives deep-rooted in systemic racism.

In that case, you don't need to remove them. Use them to teach kids about the past, it's not that hard, but I get it, submitting to a mob is easier these days.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

anything, even blashpemy, is fine as long as they think they are "owning" someone on the internet.

UN #HumanRights experts express profound concern over a recent statement by the US Attorney-General describing #Antifa and other anti-fascist activists as domestic terrorists, saying it undermines the rights to freedom of expression and of peaceful assembly in the country.

What sixteen years are you referring to out of the 400 year existence? Why do the Democrats have only a sixteen-year window to make the country a utopia?

Democrats have made things worse for blacks these last 60 years.

Your logic doesn't make any sense.

Voting for a party continuously for over 60 years that doesn't care one iota about you doesn't make sense.

You mean the one black conservative who just repeats the same thing that racist white conservatives promote? How original?

Should he be like other Democrat blacks and use the same excuse and talking points of their white racist counterparts?

How many other immigrants were kidnapped 400+ years ago, enslaved for 260 years, faced Jim Crow laws, and legal discrimination for another 100 years. Then continue to face systemic racism since before the civil rights movement 60 years ago.

Jewish people even longer about 3,000 years

5 ( +8 / -3 )

@Bass

And to your point you can educate and tell that crucial part of history without destroying or defacing statues, you're calling for the reverse and how is that right? The best thing would be to properly educate the public about its slave past and to erect statues of people that fought against it alongside that supported to keeping the institution alive that way we see the entire history and factually and not cover up or gloss over what one group doesn't want to see, you are replacing one racist ideology with another.

You can, but it doesn't matter if those statues were erected based on false narratives deep-rooted in systemic racism.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

You said there are minorities who have not been acknowledged for their contributions. I simply said tell me about someone of them that i have likely not heard of and what they did.

Im saying in advance if it was something significant we have likely heard of it already.

Just follow Candace Owens advice and other successful immigrants to achieve level of equality by working hard for an education and be a law abiding citizen.

You mean the one black conservative who just repeats the same thing that racist white conservatives promote? How original?

How many other immigrants were kidnapped 400+ years ago, enslaved for 260 years, faced Jim Crow laws, and legal discrimination for another 100 years. Then continue to face systemic racism since before the civil rights movement 60 years ago.

The same civil rights that African American fought for that all immigrants and white women are benefiting from til this day.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Or a public government built on systemic racism that have refused to acknowledge the accomplishments and contributions to the country by specific minority groups. Specifically, those accomplishments that contradict the narrative of white/european superiority.

We constantly hear about the "first this", and the "first that". So that means there was no one previously if they are the "first" to do something or be something.

Who am I missing that I should know about who is not being acknowledged?

Or a public government built on systemic racism that have refused to acknowledge the accomplishments and contributions to the country by specific minority groups. Specifically, those accomplishments that contradict the narrative of white/european superiority.

Several monuments depicting Confederate figures have been toppled by demonstrators over the past few weeks who have been protesting systemic racism, police brutality and injustice in the world's flagship democracy.

'The world's flagship democracy'? The U.S is NOT the world's flagship democracy. It is democracy gone individualistically mad. Without common purpose. And don't count money as 'purpose'.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

This is the time to remember the Americans who fought and die to free African-American from slavery. in USA at that time. Let us remember that slavery was the standard practice in Africa, Middle East, US, South America, Europe and around the globe. US constitution enshrined no slavery in its territory. Now Black Lives Matter is turning into a prodigal entity who promote hate against authorities and an affirmative action of quota to all levels of society to benefit themselves only. It looks like racist agenda. Do other people of color or white lives does not matter? If Americans are just law abiding citizens, most likely than not there will be no encounter with law enforcers. In the land of free, most legal immigrants move-up the ladder of success. The majority of African-American community stay stale because Democratic Party promoted culture of dependency and hate to authorities to win elections. Democrats were in power for 16 years and yet did not improve the lives of the stale Americans. What an irony? Just follow Candace Owens advice and other successful immigrants to achieve level of equality by working hard for an education and be a law abiding citizen.

Pressure has mounted in Congress for Juneteenth to be declared a national holiday and Virginia, former capital of the Confederacy, is among the U.S. states moving to make it an official holiday.

I think this is a good idea. There is Martin Luther King holiday, but that is more related to Civil Rights movement. Juneteeth or something directly related to the slavery past should be remembered as well.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Good. Let's make it a national holiday.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

The Avenger - I don't know why but before this past week I had never heard of Juneteenth.

It's always been a bit confusing as to when the U.S. Civil War ended. Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on September 22, 1862. General Lee surrendered the Army of Virginia on April 9, 1865. But the war wasn't over. On April 26, General Johnston surrender the Army of Tennessee. One by one, the Confederate armies surrendered. On May 26, General Smith surrendered his command at Galveston, Texas. Juneteenth marks the day when Union troops finally arrived in Galveston, Texas in 1865, finally fulfilling the promise made by Lincoln's proclamation to free slaves in Texas as yet another area under Union control. Juneteenth was the day that slaves in Texas were declared free.

Democrats have promised to fix injustices of all kinds..ie racial, gender, wealth, education, housing, religious and other crap.... 50 years ago. They came up with such gimmicks as ... Affirmative action, Free Housing (Projects), #Me2 movement, Busing of kids, Free School lunches, Food Stamp, Free Needles, Early Release of Prisoners, Sanctuary Cities... ....and all kinds of free this, free that nonsense.

But, Injustices are prevalent only in Democrat controlled Cities and strongholds...where you can find Black Mayors, Black Police Chiefs (Men and Women).. Yet these places are riddled with black-on-black Crime, Gangs, Unemployed, Families on food stamp, Uneducated youth enclaves, record homeless people and drug addicts. Wow, they are still marching 50 years later.

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me ...

5 ( +14 / -9 )

As Juneteenth falls within pride month, I am wondering if going forward, will black history month still remain in February or will their be dueling celebrations? Both movements have flags, parades, and really easy iconic hooks for corporations to attach themselves to.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

I don't know why but before this past week I had never heard of Juneteenth.

Me neither. But already the narrative is that one is an ignorant racist if they have never heard of it. The left often do this. Something that was perfectly normal or acceptable in January becomes hideously unthinkable in Feb., as though it was always that way.
