But we were assured Trump's moves were wildly popular!

Ending birthright citizenship requires a Constitutional Amendment. That requires lots and lots of people working together to make it happen. I'm in favor of removing birthright citizenship if either parent is in the USA illegally or on short term VISAs. Basically, only people with a green card or already citizenship should be allowed to pass that on to their children. My stance isn't popular. 2/3rds for the Senate and a huge number of states have to agree to any Constitutional amendment. In short, it won't happen and Trump's attempt is just a waste of time for hundreds of govt workers AND a waste of all our time even talking about it. Trump can't read a room of average Americans and he certainly can get people to see his view on this topic.
Rename the Gulf of Mexico feels like something China would do. It is petty, but map makers around the world will get to sell new maps. Schools in America will be forced to replace all their huge USA maps - and those aren't cheap. Trump mandate (he does have this power), will waste millions of govt dollars for nothing useful. I'd rather see him mandate switching to the metric system, honestly.
Pardoning the insurrectionists from Jan 6 is extremely unpopular. This is just Trump showing power for no real reason. Nobody in jail was there without due process and a reasonable amount of time sentenced. Most were giving lighter sentences than average. None of the people who were violent or broke property should have been freed. Just the simple trespass people and only if they agree to stay away from violent political rallies in the future. They've shown they didn't have good judgement already. Putting a clear limit on that aspect of their freedom would help most live better lives.

Another loaded poll.
This is why people have lost faith in the legacy media.
Underworld
JJE
Just because you don't like the results? What is your criticism of the poll?
Most people have total faith in legacy media.
bass4funk
For the majority of Trump haters and left-leaning liberals overwhelmingly, not to a large percentage of people.
No, Trump always, always said he would pardon them once he got in, people knew it, people wanted it, if they didn’t, they wouldn’t have voted for him, so this notion that people are shocked is ludicrous, they knew he would.
Wrong, most weren’t even given remanda rights.

And they spent enough time locked up.
Well, look Biden pardoned a man who murdered 2 Fed agents and a judge who was a serious child molester, that is far worse than any rioter.
The President has the absolute right to pardon anyone, you may not like it or the people he pardons, I don’t like who Biden pardoned, I think Fauci should have never been pardoned, but Biden had that right, as Trump did, they both did what they felt they had to do and we have to live with it, that’s it.
bass4funk
Since we use most of it, it’s a good idea, also it bypasses Biden’s block of not allowing Trump to drill in what was the Gulf of Mexico. Smart move.
Now liberals are concerned about spending?
Yes, we tried that in the 70’s people hated it, so the program was dumped.
I'veSeenFootage
Yep. Only MAGA trolls rejoicing, while their lives becomes noticeably worse. But reveling in liberals crying can make your forgot the taste of your tears immediately!
Fighto!
So, provide us with some names of non "legacy media" we can have faith in. (And I'm afraid tik-tok, X and Facebook don't count).
bass4funk
Ok, so liberals don’t want to cut anything, this is why we can never get our debt under control, terminating all of these security clearances for these former employees workers will save millions, they have enough money, more than enough to take care of themselves.
Nothing to do with being gleeful, just happy we have a President who is focused on the problems of the U.S. and not the rest of the world for once.
jib
Total BS, the American people overwhelmingly support what the Trump administration is doing.
bass4funk
Absolutely, but the media once again is trying to control the narrative and those days are long gone, not to mention, none of this should come as a shock since the man said, in day one this is what I’m going to do, so if the left are shocked then they should have watched some of his rallies then they would have known this was coming.
CigarLUV88
No Correction only far left progressives are upset over Trumps moves! The rest of the normal acting Americans love everything he is doing!
I'veSeenFootage
You should read the article! They really don't. The majority of americans dislike or downright hate Trump. Even a lot of people who voted for him. Only a small percentage of the population actually likes him. Problem is, that small percentage is a loud as it is ignorant.
Bob Fosse
Panama and Greenland would disagree with you. As would eggs.

= I only trust polls that make me feel good about my beliefs.

Ah here we go! The first of many many INGSOC propaganda for the next 4 years.
Blacklabel
“There were positive indicators for Trump, as well”
ok, so the distraction of the Gulf of America is working well to capture all the “orange man” outrage so the important things can be supported and proceed.
Blacklabel
He’s doing exactly what he promised, except the Guif of America purposeful distraction.
yet we are to believe already 5% of the people who just voted for him don’t approve of him doing what they just elected him to do?
nah. Not buying it.
Legrande
You should read the article! They really don't. The majority of americans dislike or downright hate Trump.
Which explains why he was elected lol

“Today, 538 is unveiling a new polling average for President Donald Trump's job approval rating. Based on the 11 polls released since his inauguration on Jan. 20, Trump's average approval rating starts off at 50 percent, while 43 percent disapprove of the job he is doing as president.”
oh ok. So this chosen poll for this article is an “outlier” again.

Speaking of Jim Acosta….

= How dare you not you believe OUR polls! Only we can choose which polls to agree and disagree with.

Another "poll" next year. Keep pushing those unpopular Trump exec actions.
Are egg prices going down yet?

They elected him to bring down costs and he didn't. Therefore dissatisfied.

It called Buter’s remorse and I suspect you should get used to it because this is only the beginning.

Are egg prices going down yet?
Biden didn't promise to bring down prices, Trump did.
bass4funk
That wasn’t the point. The point was, when egg prices increased under Biden, the left said nothing, absolutely nothing, so they can’t say jack when egg prices increased under their watch.

Donald's latest one:
"President Donald Trump's administration is offering federal workers the chance to take a "deferred resignation," which would mean they agree now to resign but get paid through September.
A senior administration official told NBC News that they expect 5%-10% of the federal workforce to quit, which, they estimate, could lead to around $100 billion in savings."
Offering 8 months salary as "bonus" (severance package)!
And no, this is not about saving money.
This is the continuation of a dictatorship in the making.
Only Donald appeasers with the lowest qualifications possible will serve him and his administration!
I'veSeenFootage
But... what's the point of distracting people with horribly bad decisions, exactly? Couldn't he just make great decisions everyone supports across the board? What a strange thing to boast about...
Blacklabel
“didn’t”? He’s been there like 5 work days lol
Blacklabel
nothing bad about it.
just meaningless thing that took 5 minutes to distract idiots away from other things things that are being done.
plasticmonkey
The point is, Trump promised to bring down food prices, not take back the Panama Canal or rename the Gulf of Mexico. Or revoke Mike Pompeo's security detail. Everyone understands that it takes time for prices to fall, but so far Trump has done nothing to address the issue that mattered most to voters. Nothing.
You know why? Because he can't.
I guarantee you, prices on nearly everything will be higher a year from now than they are now. And you know what happens next year, right?
Blacklabel
Totally about saving money as these people will not be replaced.
How kind to offer 8 months of severance if people really don’t want to come back to the office. I would give them 45 days, tops.
thats not the flex you think it is. Not at all.
lincolnman
Loser, Loser, Loser....thy name is Trump...
More Americans, especially MAGA voters. are realizing that they were hustled...
The first example was when he threw his America-firsters under the bus for his billionaire tech bros - and their crusade to replace white US tech workers with cheaper Indian, Chinese, and African ones...
Then we get all his excuses for failing to lower prices as he promised to do the first week...
The Ukraine war over in 24 hours? It's now over 160 hours and nothing....
What has he done? Pardon those who assault the police, meth dealers, and child porn perverts...
Expect more of that until he succumbs to his dementia in the next few months...
bass4funk
The point is, you really don’t have an argument.
Yes, he did so beautifully.
One week on the Job and did more than Biden in 8 months
He just started he will.
Uh-huh..lol…libs guarantee
You guys are really not taking this loss well. I worry…
Blacklabel
he did promise that. Having a confirmed Department of Agriculture cabinet appointee first would help.
those other things? just exceeding our wildest expectations of performance in the

Probably because most of us understood the increasing price of eggs is due entirely to increasing prevalence of H5N1 Bird Flu forcing farmers to kill tens of millions of egg laying hens. This is a technical problem, not a political one. At this point in human knowledge the only known way to arrest the spread of Bird Flu is to cull flocks which means fewer hens laying fewer eggs and higher prices.
I wish people looked at problems like engineers and less emotionally. Future chicken farming is going to look different with chickens in something resembling a bio lab to prevent them from being infected by wild birds, which is how they are infected today. Hardened facilities and employees in clean suits (already happening btw) will increase the cost of producing eggs but may be the only way to arrest Bird Flu in commercial flocks.
plasticmonkey
This is really the only argument MAGA cultists have. They know they've invested heavily in a schmuck and con man and it would be just too painful to admit it.
plasticmonkey
Well, I'm sure when prices are higher next year all you cultists will be blaming someone or something else. Poor Trump! So unfair!
Blacklabel
Proven Winning- it’s a great argument against being called a “loser”, don’t you agree?
you guys do know words have meanings? and you have thousands of other words to choose from? why the insistence on such an easily disproven word? That’s “weird”.
Desert Tortoise
Such ignorance. Naval Air Systems Command had been moving towards a hybrid work environment since around 2014. Why? They prioritized building ships and aircraft over building new buildings so everyone could sit in an office. Most people seem unaware that the DoD workforce has been expanding since 2009-2010 as the US started to take the Chinese threat very seriously and began developing the weapons you see coming on line now. That has required more manpower. The Navy is leasing commercial office space outside the gates of many bases but that costs a lot of money not just in leasing but also furnishing them and installing all the security and specialized secure internet stuff a government office needs and that the public expects. So they started looking at industry practices and were already remodeling existing spaces for a hybrid work environment. Some days in the office, some working remotely with workers sharing cubes because there would not be enough for everyone to be in the office at once. This would free money to develop and build new weapons and new ships. I started working remotely back in 2014. Not every day but two days a week. Subsequently our base was badly damaged by back to back earthquakes followed shortly thereafter by the pandemic. We still don't have finished offices to go back to. And because now everyone has to go back instead of working in the office only two days per week the Navy has to install twice as many internet drops, phone drops and buy twice as many cubicles or desks for their workers. An outside contractor handles these things and they don't have the resources to do it all as fast as OPM is telling agencies to accomplish this.
plasticmonkey
Trump is not only a "winner". He's a "warrior".
Show some respect.
Blacklabel
yep!
Blacklabel
nah that’s Pete Hegseth and our Department of Defense, not Trump.
do keep up if you going to incessantly comment.
