Very funny! How about they start with arresting Mugabe there in Zimbawe??

13 ( +18 / -5 )

The only war criminals who are ever arrested are those from poor countries or countries that have just lost a war, like Japan in 1945. Sadly, this murderer will live out his life in comfort and wealth.

7 ( +13 / -6 )

Bush ? Genocide? Africa???? I suggest A.I. Grow some ---- and go after the Real Scum in the pond- The so called Presidents for life in the majority of Africa! They brutalize their own people Every Day while the U.N. shines a blind eye to this tragedy that is Africa!

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Now that l would like to see, lets hope that one of these nations actually has the willpower to stand up to the US and actually arrest this criminal.

5 ( +15 / -10 )

I generally support the causes of Amnesty International, but this recent campaign is really making them look silly.

5 ( +10 / -5 )

This is amazing! As if they have nothing better to do. Bush is gone retired, leave the man alone. There are people that are far worse than Bush. Personally, I never had a problem with the man, but that is my opinion. There are a lot of people in Africa that need to and should be arrested, Mugabe is one that comes to mind, if they want to start, start with him. @Yuri, I totally agree with you, good point. What happened to that group, they used to stand for something, but now...ideology driven....hmmmm...

4 ( +8 / -4 )

There must be hundreds, no, thousands of politicians that fall into the "should be arrested" category.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Wow. That's just shot Amnesty International's credibility down in flames. Not because of the sentiment. But because they think; a) That African leaders might be stupid enough to try it. b) That the US would allow that to happen. They are either really naive, or really really silly.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

so for those of u who are coming to his defense by saying if they arrest him, they have to arrest every other piece of scum out there, do you suggest doing nothing? just sweep the past under the carpet and we're good, huh? not defending amnesty international, but i dont think they're actually on the side of mugabe, al quaida, mussad, or any other extreme group. i'm sure they dont condone any of these violent groups either.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

@zurcronium

One million civilian dead in Iraq, based on lies about WMD. 18 US vets commit suicide a day. Bush is a war criminal. The illegal torture is just a footnote. He belongs in jail.

Spot on!

Was "Saddam Hussein" a tyrant, a mass murderer, and a brutal dictator, no question, he was he was a piece of human garbage... That Said...

Bush's team of cronies, did everything they possibly could have to fabricate a bunch of BS evidence, then invade and cause the deaths of estimated 500,000 Iraqi's because "George Dubya" wanted to be a war president... By definition, he's a first class war criminal. And every single democrat including "Nancy Pelosi" whose sole duty it was, was to impeach that war criminal, she is just as guilty, for knowing what happened, and looking the other way.

You people really need to read up on what actually happened in the white house, Rumsfeld wanted to bomb Bagdag months before Iraq was even announced... And BTW: Rumsfeld cannot even think about traveling Europe, out of a REAL fear of being arrested and tried. It's only too bad we can't give George Dubya a one-way ticket to the Hague.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

I did try a simulation of it. I was doing a report on it for a local L.A. newspaper and yes, it is extremely unpleasant, but torture, Nope.

Cool! I believe you. Next challenge is to try it 266 times.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

During his term of presidency, Bush introduced the patriot Act and allowed to toruture the suspected terrorists. Of course, some are real terrorists. Some are not! According the common law, there is presumption of innocence for trials! According Bush law and doctrine, there are no justice and fairness! Bush have to be prosecuted according international law.

He is not only war criminal. He abused his power and violated human rights of decent people. he lied the whole world about WMD. Thousands of US soliders and Irag civilians died becasue of his lies. He broke the US economy and his reckeless spending made a mountain of national debt!

2 ( +8 / -6 )

As other posters have said, let's hope they start locking Africans up first - those men have been responsible for some of the worst crimes against humanity of the past 40 years. Bush is an angel by comparison- and I detest the bloke.

2 ( +7 / -5 )

Amnesty InterNUTional should go interview the Taliban! Alqaeda! Ask them what they think about human rights etc...

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Amnesty International might as well ask them to arrest Putin for murdering Chechens and Hu Jintao for murdering Tibetans.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

It is a shame that laws and standards are applied according to power and not as proclaimed across the board. Secret service alone probably has more destructive power at hand than any of these nations. Still would be amusing to see him bundled into the back of a Police car.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

It's too bad they didn't succeed in arresting that War-Criminal-n-Chief. Some day... We can only hope, and pray.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Two wrongs don't make a right, and I've no love for GWB, but I'd be interested to hear what Amnesty International thinks about "9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed", too. Just for balance ya know.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Amnesty is run by teenagers it seems.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

Atrocities? Like PEPFAR? Check the link http://www.avert.org/hiv-aids-africa.htm Seems like Bush did a lot more than AI in fighting AIDS in Africa, so if they arrest anyone, it should be those self-righteous idiots at Amnesty International.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

It was fun back in the day working one's self into some serious indignation about Dubberz and the WOT but if they want Bush arrested that would mean Obama also culpable. The Patriot Act is in force still and it was expanded.OBL got shot in the face. That must have really grinded the gears of Code Pink and PETA,NAMBLA and Amnesty Int'l.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

The two men were waterboarded a total of 266 times from 2002 to 2003, according to the CIA inspector general

Wow, the CIA must have been very bad at it.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

The name should be changed to "Amnusty International". How about the present leader of China, N.Korea, Russia, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Iranian leaders, Mugabe..... Set a good example, will you? Go to arrest some Al Queda for horrible crimes against children, women and see what they will do to you! Stop abusing drugs and be real kids.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

What about Perrogie? He should be held just as responsible for the water boarding.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

j4p4nFTW

George W Bush kept the world safe after 9/11 by retooling the no longer relevant Cold War apparatus that was left in place by Clinton and the Democrats that allowed 9/11 and the bombing of the Cole to happen.

Wow, funniest thing l have read in a long time.... GWB kept the world safe!!! Sorry cant stop laughing you really should get a job as a comedian.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

arrest Bush? LOL! Keep Dreaming. waterboarding Terrorists? OH NO! leave those terrorists alone! you make it sound like these Terrorists should actually have Rights. i can imagine if spiderpig was in charge he would massaging & Bathing these terrorists. these Terrorists Kill innocent people with bombs in crowds their own people & some fools say they should be treated Fairly?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

@techall

George W. Bush fabricaed all this "evidence"?

No, only what they needed... They selectively picked and chose their intelligence, while it's possible to get any information you need to say anything, reliability is another thing entirely... The reliable intelligence said, that there was NO threat, but if you are capable of putting 2 and 2 together, Rumsfeld and his team, including that other draft dodging war-criminal Wolfowitz, drafted a paper, PNAC (please take a few minutes and familiarize yourself with it, it was written 10 years before) and it was just waiting to be implemented... Hence, just what they needed, A trumped up war... Enter Exhibit, 'A' George Dubya

Oh, and let's not forget The Downing Street Memos... But I could go on and on about all kinds of hard evidence, that this war was only about oil, and bush wanting to be a war president, but it's no use telling this to Bush lovers... It's like that old saying, "it's no use in arguing with a fool..."

Even Jesse Ventura, said he would never believe the day he saw The U.S. Attack and invade a country that never attacked us... That's George Dubya's legacy... War-Criminal-n-Chief...

1 ( +1 / -0 )

He won't get arrested but Amnesty International just made his trip overseas a little less pleasant.

Good. The little twerp doesn't derserve to have a nice day.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

People have the wrong ideal about me. I am not anti American but anti new airfield. Am not against Futenma as long as the Americans do not fly F-18's into there and move the Threshold 3 thousand feet or more past where it is now. The runway is long enough for a 747, no need to land on the stripes. In fact my ideal of reducing the size to government land only will work. Back to the ex President, Putin has become dictator or Russia, throwing his opponents into Prison. The Chinese are worse and both use worse that a little water. No this Bush bashing is American bashing at it's best. Leave the man alone!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I'm not for extreme pain, but serious discomfort, you betcha!

There is no effective difference between waterboarding and drowning except that with drowning, people tend to die more. So you would describe drowning as nothing more than "serious discomfort"? Riiiigggght. I think your motives for supporting torture lie elsewhere, and are nothing to do with the fact that you (excuse the pun) endured a watered down version once at your own volition.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

9/11 is no joke! I don't care too much for this idiot Bush but when you are in a war?? When the World Trade Centres came falling down?? Are we supposed to put on kids gloves?? Worry about Alqaeda's human rights?? Hell no!! Time to hunt them down just like Mr.Obama is doing right now! So Pakistan does not like it?? Too bad! I hate wars but if the Taliban and Alqaeda are hell bent on shoving Sharia law on the rest of us peace loving citizens of the world, well time to flush them out and hunt them down before the terrorists make 9/11 look like a walk in the park!!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Amnesty International hasn't done anything about organ havesting in China, human trafficing, etc!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Spidapig24: As would I, but not solely for his agreeing to torture. Regardless, I doubt very much it will happen. Any country that would arrest the man, no longer president aside, would face some pretty dire consequences as a result.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Free publicity.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

seems as if they're just using this platform to remind everyone of bush's atrocities . good on em .

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Amnesty is run by teenagers it seems.

teenagers might run it better :)

0 ( +3 / -3 )

@Tamarama

Wow. That's just shot Amnesty International's credibility down in flames. Not because of the sentiment. But because they think; a) That African leaders might be stupid enough to try it. b) That the US would allow that to happen. They are either really naive, or really really silly.

While I agree with the point you're making, it does look a bit like you're suggesting that because Bush was the leader of a powerful nation, nobody should ever dare attempt to hold him responsible for his actions. A bit like how the Mafia run Sicily.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

If they go after Bush they have to go after most politicians and retired politicians all over the world who basically all have very dirty hands and some with MUCH more dirty hands than Bush.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

YuriOtani

Spidapig24, your leaders have done far worse.

Yeah which of "my" leaders has done worse? And what exactly have they done?

More President Bush and American bashing.

Wow thats such an ironic statement coming from JT's premiere US basher, need l remind you of some of your favourite anti US comments in the past because there are some really good ones?

Leave the man alone in his retirement.

So just because a man retires from running his warmongering does that mean he should get off scott free. Maybe they should have let Milošević go free as he had retired, or maybe Tojo as he was no longer PM when arrested. If your basis for allowing criminals to get off their charges is that they be retired! Seriously Yuri!!!! Afterall GWB has done more than just allow torture and should like all others that posters have mentioned be brought to justice.

0 ( +6 / -6 )

Arrest George Bush?? The "Dubya"? You won't get any resistance from me.

We created a No-Fly zone around Iraq, nothing got in, nothing got out for a decade. We always knew they didn't have WMDs. It was a corporate war and it was illegal. So if they do arrest him. Well, he might finally be held accountable for his decisions.

The man made his deal with the devil. The devil always collects.

Now is a great time too. Barack Obama is in office. If Republicans take the White House in 2012 George Bush will be untouchable.

oh HAPPY DAY!!!

0 ( +3 / -3 )

There should also be a charge laid for the enormous number of non sequitors that gushed from his mouth!

0 ( +3 / -3 )

@Spidapig

But l see you are siding with JT's biggest US basher on this one. HMMM amusing l thought you where smarter than that, guess a person can be wrong.

Yeah and so what. You are on the other spectrum, so I don't see anything wrong with that. You thought I was smarter? Well, smart enough to know when someone is talking nonsense, I guess, I am right.

Seriously is that the best defense you can come up with. Oh and for the record l wasnt comparing him to the other two l was rebuting Yuri's idea that because someone is retired their past deeds should be forgiven. UNDERSTAND!!!!

Not a defense, but the truth. You think Amnesty or any other organization for that matter will kick in Bush's door and arrest him, you ARE joking right? You liberals can never get over the fact that Bush is gone and is totally irrelevant to the world...except for MSNBC, many leftist radicals in Europe and that's about it. Arresting GWB is the same as thinking Ron Paul will be the NEXT President, it will NEVER happen. Talk about it, if you must, great for those warm family cozy sitting at the fire discussions, but other than that....

Well it seems many people and organisations disagree with you on this one. Just because you give it a fancy name doesnt make it any less so. Its funny even your allies agree waterboarding is torture. And have for many years.

But there are many people that might agree with me and think your criticism of Bush is way off the mark. I don't care what the biased U.S. liberal media says, they can say whatever they want. Enhanced interrogations is not torture. Pulling off fingernails is, inflicting serious bodily injury, cutting and maiming them is. Water boarding isn't.

At least on the last two, I think we could possibly agree to a point.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Enhanced interrogations is not torture.

Try it, as seen on TV!

0 ( +1 / -1 )

We always knew they didn't have WMDs. It was a corporate war and it was illegal.

I had the "corporate war" t-shirt. I wore it proudly, like you probably did.I was occupying Wall Street long before Obama told us to. I did it in the run up to the illegal war. (otoh, Legal wars are somehting I am cool with.) But 8 years later I have to admit I too feel like a bit of doofus. We never stole any of their oil. And if we did why did so many of us progressives oppose the drill here drill now candidates of the right ? I am unable to name the corporations that fooled both parties into declaring war on Iraq. Like I said though back in the day marching against Dubberz and calling him a chimp gave my life meaning.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

One million civilian dead in Iraq

Unless you're using crackpot estimates, the figure is in the several hundreds of thousands, which is horrible enough.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country

Al Gore, Former Clinton Vice-President Speech to San Francisco Commonwealth Club September 23, 2002

There are strong indications that Iraq produced more anthrax than it declared, and that at least some of this was retained after the declared destruction date. It might still exist. Either it should be found and be destroyed under UNMOVIC supervision or else convincing evidence should be produced to show that it was, indeed, destroyed in 1991.

Dr. Hans Blix, Chief UN Weapons Inspector Addressing the UN Security Council January 27, 2003

The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retained some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capability

Robert C. Byrd Former Ku Klux Klan recruiter, currently a US Senator (Democrat, West Virginia) Addressing the US Senate October 3, 2002

People can quarrel with whether we should have more troops in Afghanistan or internationalize Iraq or whatever, but it is incontestable that on the day I left office, there were unaccounted for stocks of biological and chemical weapons."

Former President Clinton During an interview on CNN's "Larry King Live" July 22, 2003

George W. Bush fabricaed all this "evidence"?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Arrest him ASAP. The wrost President USA ever had.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Amnesty International on Thursday urged Ethiopia, Tanzania and Zambia to arrest former U.S. President George W Bush for violating international torture laws, during his African tour this week.

This speaks volumes of Amnesty International's irrelevance...

Tactics this juvenile are laughable.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Bush is nothing more than spoiled son of rich man. He avoided draft during the Vietnam war. His dad was a powerful congress man therefore he got a special treatment. He has never fought in the front line in his life time. However he used to say "bring it on". He prematurely announced the Mission Accomplished in his comedian speech. After his speech, more US marines were slaughtered like birds. His popular nick name is Chicken Hawk who is loud and arrogant in nature not in the real action!

However I have more respect and admiration to Bush daddy who served in Second World War. His daddy pilot license was also legitimate. According my knowledge, Bush did not have enough flight hours for qualifying as pilot. He was a AWOL and never attended the classes regularly. He got some Attention Deficit Disorder when he was a trainee pilot. Somehow, he got a pilot license in the mysterious circumstances.

Once he proudly boosted to students as "Even you are class C students, you too can be president of the United States. No wonder US got broke after his term. I have no objection about fair trial for him even he was a former president. He had so much blood in his hand. Bring the equal justice!

0 ( +4 / -4 )

People from Amnesty-whatever-grouping have forgotten the horrors of 9/11 and many other terrorist acts committed around the world. These terrorists do not go by rules or conventions in their dastardly acts against innocent people of ALL religions. Extreme terrorist actions & deeds called for extreme measures by the USA when GWB was in charge. This call by Amnesty reminds me of the home-owner who was arrested to face charges after he confronted and killed an intruder in his own home in the UK. He was subsequently released.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

You can't arrest him because it would do more harm to the system than good. No one will take anything seriously anymore if Bush were brought in on war crime charges for water boarding. It would be like arresting a secretary at AIG for fraud while letting the really bad managers live in their mansions.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

bass4funk I did try a simulation of it. I was doing a report on it for a local L.A. newspaper and yes, it is extremely unpleasant, but torture, Nope.

A simulation of waterboarding? I cannot even imagine what that means. Either you were really waterboarded or you weren't. Either you were waterboarded for a short time with a little water, or you were given the real treatment. And if you were not given the real treatment, you don't know what its like.

And you cannot torture the willing. You cannot compare volunteering for pain and being bundled off against your will to a foreign military base and being given pain. Also, some people enjoy cutting themselves. But if someone started to cut you you would feel a lot different about it.

But I'm still here, aren't I?

If "here" is Pluto, yes. Here on Earth, the goal of torture is not to kill, but to cause pain. If you are caused pain to inflict punishment or extract information, its torture. If something is done to cause you to die, its called killing. Torture is torture and killing is killing. Most overlaps are accidental.

But since you like waterboarding so much, I sure would like to hook up. I want to see how much you can take sir.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Amnesty International is a joke!

0 ( +2 / -2 )

I am just going to simply say that George Bush is a criminal who should be tried before the ICJ.

They could try Bush. They could try Cheney. In both cases, since the accused quite rightly hold the ICJ kangaroo court in complete contempt (if they even are aware of it) , nothing would come of the matter. And even if found 'guilty', what could the big bad ICJ do? Nothing.Aside from journos and whiny Lefties online there is no one out there who takes ICJ verdicts seriously. Like so may posters here all they could do is shake their lil' fists at Dumbya. End of story.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

If you or I did such crimes, or Much less we would be in prison. Why should some be allowed such awful crimes. Bush shamed myself, and my country. Perhaps this link will shed some more Truth! http://tgrule.wordpress.com/2011/11/20/war-crimes-tribunal-blair-and-gw-bush/

0 ( +1 / -1 )

@unnegated

I think your motives for supporting torture lie elsewhere, and are nothing to do with the fact that you (excuse the pun) endured a watered down version once at your own volition.

If that's what you believe. You call it torture and I don't, not at all. Difference of opinion.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I suppose if Bush had just killed them in a drone attack Amnesty International would be happier. Besides, doesn't A.I. know that the US has "tortured" thousands of it's own special operations soldiers by water boarding them as part of their training for years. They are probably still doing it today - under is holiness B.O.

Former President Bush has pursued anti-disease policies in Africa that has saved literally millions of lives. As much as Leftist organizations like A.I. hate Bush, Africans love him for what he has done on their continent.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

even if they tried to arrest this poor excuse for a human being, do you really think he'd go there without nothing less of a battalion for a security detail as his escort?

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Fact:the biggest war monger on the planet is the US of A - period.

With the latest in deadly radiation backed weaponry it is killing innocent people even when US troops are out of the country!

Al Qaeda?Taleban?

They don't even come close!

What is the defence budget of Al Qaeda?

Where is the HQ?

That is right ! It is a bogeyman of the imagination.......................endless war!

(Sorry for going off topic J T)

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

@bass4funk

But compared to what we have in the WH now.......

...he was a chimp.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

YardleyDec. 02, 2011 - 01:00PM JST

The two men were waterboarded a total of 266 times from 2002 to 2003, according to the CIA inspector general

Wow, the CIA must have been very bad at it.

hahaha!

he single-handed turned the world into the paranoid mess it is today, where every muslim is seen as suspect and every uncertainty is a security risk. we have this man to thank for all of that. poeple think kim jong il is crazy. kim's got nothing on this guy.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

"Amnesty International recognizes the value of raising awareness about cervical and breast cancer in Africa, the stated aim of the visit

That's the stated aim, but we all know the truth: He's going there to waterboard cancer victims. Oh noes!

I'd be more sympathetic to Amnesty International with the bloated rhetoric and subtle insinuations.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

But compared to what we have in the WH now.......

@Bass4Funk Now now, hold on a minute. Tread lightly here. What we have in White House now is a Nobel Peace prize winner. The man who actually put an end to Osama Bin Laden and the same man who has made sure we are moving out of Iraq.

Don't try to compare the current President with that alcoholic cocaine snorting misfit we had for a President. He was a corporate puppet. I'd like to see Cheney locked up too but he's in his chair begging for mercy. The only ones with any kind of sense in the Bush Administration were Powell and Rice. Smart of them to keep their distance too.

Anyway, don't try to bring Obama into this. The topic is "Dubya".

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Someday Obama and his team will be tried for murdering Mr Laden and Mr Gaddafi!

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

If you say Bush should not be held accountable for his war crimes because of good works in Africa, then you are saying Jerry Sandusky should not be held accountable for alleged molestation of boys because of his charity work. And he really did do real charity work.

If you say Bush should be left alone because he has too much power behind him, the you are saying that the Zeta Cartel should be left alone because they are so powerful that no one has been able to take them down.

I am just going to simply say that George Bush is a criminal who should be tried before the ICJ. That is really all that Amnesty needs to consider, just as none of us are letting Jerry Sandusky or the Zetas off the hook.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Heh....

It's kinda painful to see that this article has brought forward 69 comments, but the faxct is this man puts proverbial bums on seats.

W really is the American Jeremy Clarkson - love him or hate him he has one of these effects on people like the afore-mentioned. There can be no middle ground.

I was in my early twenties when W was braying for war and I guess I really hated the man for pissing on traditional US allies and all the other stuff that there's no further need to go into. But now I realize I hated what he stood for whilst the man himself is nothing more than a brand if you would, a brand in US politics.

It really is time to get over his contraversial presidency and poor performance. Everytime the guy gets a million bucks per speech he's peeing on AI and this current line of publicity generation.

Like everyone here has said - Bush is a saint compared to any African tin-pot dictator.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

freeman2011, the "victims" seem well enough. The Japanese in WWII would of really did a number to them. None of this kiddy water boarding and when done with them, lop off their heads and throw the bodies in the burnable trash. Right or wrong he did what he thought was best at the time. America had been attacked and another attack was possible perhaps with a nuke. Do not think we will ever know the full story. Again leave the man alone! Putin needs to be put on trial first for allowing torture, unwarranted arrest of political foes and murder of his foes. What this "man" has done makes President Bush look like a boy scout.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Leave him alone. The poor man had to deal with all this bias BS. It's better if they just say they hate him than covering it up with this excuse.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Prior to Clinton we had a tried and true method of maintaining the budget that was developed by previous Presidents, however, Clinton tampered with that system towards the end of his term.

Since the President Regan term, US has deregulated banking and finance. It was called as Reganomic theory. According that theory, market has own magic. Government is a problem! Let's the market wild and prosperity will fall from sky. Government borrowed money and spent. No need to worry about repayment as far as green back is reserve currency. When Bush Snr was a president, economy was getting worse. Mr Clinton even mentioned "economy is stupid". during his campaign for white house.

During the term of Mr Clinton, US enjoyed the golden age of peace and prosperity. International investors rushed to invest for dot com boom. He cut the government spending and increased tax to rich. US enjoyed high employment, low sovereign debt and economic championship. When Mr Bush jnr became a head of state, US economy moved forward to south and more and more foreign debt have been raised. More and more homeless and unemployment too. He wasted human resources and billions of dollars for two wars. He is not only war criminals but also irresponsible economic manager. He made US lost the reputation and credibility because of his lies and exaggeration.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

One million civilian dead in Iraq, based on lies about WMD. 18 US vets commit suicide a day. Bush is a war criminal. The illegal torture is just a footnote. He belongs in jail.

-2 ( +5 / -8 )

@Spidapig

We get it, you don't like Bush, fine. You are totally entitled to your "opinion" comparing Bush to Tojo and Milosevic is like comparing Jessica Biel and Halle Barry to Snooki or Kim Kardashian not even close, not even in the same category. Your opinion doesn't make it a fact for everyone, so please do not speak for all of us. And stop with the torture thing already, haven't we not been around the block on this before? Enhanced interrogations are NOT torture. How about the current President? What is he? He would rather shoot Hellfire missiles and kill terrorists altogether, rather than capturing them and bringing them in for interrogation, because that would be too Bush like, right. Don't bring them in, let's just shoot 'em up! But for liberals that is not mass murdering is it? Do I think Bush was the greatest, No, I do not. He was alright in my book. But compared to what we have in the WH now.......

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Al Qaida et al are not signatures to any convention and flaunt all human concepts of decency by inflicting mass civilian casualties in non-conflict areas. If one does not oneself respect international conventions, then one should not expect to be protected by such. If there is such a thing as exceptions to any rule then obtaining information from terrorists to prevent more mass murder should be one of them in my opinion.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

@Peacewarrior

I did try a simulation of it. I was doing a report on it for a local L.A. newspaper and yes, it is extremely unpleasant, but torture, Nope. But I'm still here, aren't I?

Once he proudly boosted to students as "Even you are class C students, you too can be president of the United States. No wonder US got broke after his term.

This reads like he, Dumbya, predicted the election of affirmative action President Golfpants.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Raymasaki

arrest Bush? LOL! Keep Dreaming.

Yeah exactly like the US would allow it.

waterboarding Terrorists? OH NO! leave those terrorists alone! you make it sound like these Terrorists should actually have Rights.

As l posted earlier, if its done to a US serviceman its torture. If its the US doing it, its suddenly enhanced interrogation and ok with the rednecks

i can imagine if spiderpig was in charge he would massaging & Bathing these terrorists. these Terrorists Kill innocent people with bombs in crowds their own people & some fools say they should be treated Fairly?

Ah so you know me and what l support and believe then do you? I think not, but when you as a supposed civilised people begin acting like those you fight then are you any better? You lose the moral high ground. Oh and yes the terrorists are bad but have they invaded any countries like oh Iraq after selling it on a pack of lies?

Spidapig24, your leaders have done far worse. More President Bush and American bashing. Leave the man alone in his retirement.

-3 ( +10 / -13 )

Only the US military criminals are exempt of international laws. Go figure it.

He broke the US economy and his reckeless spending made a mountain of national debt!

Let's be clear on this- The one who broke the US economy was Clinton. Prior to Clinton we had a tried and true method of maintaining the budget that was developed by previous Presidents, however, Clinton tampered with that system towards the end of his term. The effects were felt during the Bush Regime, and thus are most commonly associated with him.

@Spidapig

l love the US. Im confused l dont think you know what your saying.... Maybe take a nap and then come back.

And so you should. Yes, I knew what I was saying, YOU were NOT paying attention and I kinda stopped taking naps after the 1st grade.

So basically your defense is regardless of past deeds once someone retires alls forgiven and they should live out their life in peace.

In Bush's case, Yes. By the way, what is up with you Europeans just wanting and itching to get Bush, so should we go after Clinton too? How about every President that every lived in the U.S., by your so called logic, they were all criminals. I love it, after almost 4 years, you guys are still beating that drum, "impeach Bush" wast of time, I would rather see Amnesty International go after these corrupt African dictators first, get their mess in order would be the first thing to do and there are a plenty of nut jobs in Africa to keep Amnesty Int. busy for a few years. Like I said before, Bush is retired, smiling all the way to the bank, got his book out, getting huge sums of cash doing these public speeches, the man moved on and so should you, but the obsession just pulls you guys back in again and again and again.

No they cant because the rabid US would never allow it, see when its in the USA's interest they are happy to thumb their nose at world opinion especially when it comes to war criminals. They have done it time and again.

Do I detect a bit of sarcasm here?

you think you know me and can pigeon hole me into you nice little liberal box. Buddy you know nothing about me and your name calling and labelling is laughable.

I was thinking the EXACT same thing! Right back at you, buddy.

l couldnt care who your president is it could be Donald Duck for all l care

So why do you care at all past or present, don't stress out, dude. And for the record, if we had Donald Duck NOW in the WH, I think things would be a lot sweeter than the current situation.

Funny but several of your allies like the UK, Australia, etc say it is and have banned it as such. Whats even more interesting was that after WW2 the US captured and tried a Japanese interogator for fastening a US prisoner to a stretcher and pouring water up his nose and mouth. Now that sounds like waterboarding, and when its done to a US soldier its a war crime yet when the US does it to someone its a enhanced interrogation. Thats laughable

If the UK and Australia want to ban enhanced interrogations, good for them. Their country, the do as they please, so what? And I do hope you are not equating that what the Japanese did during WWII is the same as how the U.S. does enhanced interrogations? Now that is seriously laughable!

@Unnegated

Let me rephrase that, Yes, I went through the process, I gaged and it was horrible, but do I consider it torture. I was fine in 25 min. back on my feet and all was well and totally intact.

And you cannot torture the willing. You cannot compare volunteering for pain and being bundled off against your will to a foreign military base and being given pain. Also, some people enjoy cutting themselves. But if someone started to cut you you would feel a lot different about it.

No one was being cut up. Don't make a straw man pointless argument.

And great! I'm not for extreme pain, but serious discomfort, you betcha! If there were an eminent threat and the person gets water boarded or he is deprived of sleep, so what's the matter with that. I think you should have strict rules as to how it is done, have a physician present and just simple serious discomfort. I am not for pulling teeth and cutting or chopping, now that's torture. Everything else, fine by me.

I want to see how much you can take sir.

I said, I did! I didn't like it, but I thought it to be very effective, better than the alternative. And NO, I am NOT into S&M!

I, too, have undergone waterboarding for the sake of reporting, and it certainly is not torture. I think it needs to be made clear in international law that nations on the good side, the US, UK, Australia and such, are allowed to use these techniques because it has, does and will continue to save lives. However, we must remain certain that anyone on the wrong side of history, the bad guys, are punished with the harshest available remedy if they attempt to use these techniques.

Obama has "droned" some 2000, four times the number killed under Bush, Likely Amnesty is not interested in arresting him commie ass. Of course there are thousands dead around the world at the hands of the ends justifies the mean Marxists. No call for arrests by their cohorts at Amnesty.

Your opinion doesn't make it a fact for everyone, so please do not speak for all of us.

Sorry l must have missed the part where l was speaking for everyone, l was responding to a poster who directed comments towards me, mind you they where pretty poor comments at that. I also referenced other posters comments who were in the same vain in regards to torture now if you think that is speaking for everyone then l think you have some issues you may need to deal with there buddy. But l see you are siding with JT's biggest US basher on this one. HMMM amusing l thought you where smarter than that, guess a person can be wrong.

We get it, you don't like Bush, fine. You are totally entitled to your "opinion" comparing Bush to Tojo and Milosevic is like comparing Jessica Biel and Halle Barry to Snooki or Kim Kardashian not even close, not even in the same category.

Yeah l dont like GWB, so what! And guess what l am entitled to that opinion as are you and you seem happy telling me to keep quiet while you sprout your pro Bush comments. What was it again oh thats right he's retired so he should be left alone. Seriously is that the best defense you can come up with. Oh and for the record l wasnt comparing him to the other two l was rebuting Yuri's idea that because someone is retired their past deeds should be forgiven. UNDERSTAND!!!!

And stop with the torture thing already, haven't we not been around the block on this before? Enhanced interrogations are NOT torture.

Well it seems many people and organisations disagree with you on this one. Just because you give it a fancy name doesnt make it any less so. Its funny even your allies agree waterboarding is torture. And have for many years.

Yeah and guess what l am equally critical of him.

Do I think Bush was the greatest, No, I do not. He was alright in my book. But compared to what we have in the WH now.......

Yeah and its just another in a long line of incompetent fools that have run a fools paradise.

Luckily Amnesty International has no influence and these nations know better than to bite the hand that feeds. George W Bush kept the world safe after 9/11 by retooling the no longer relevant Cold War apparatus that was left in place by Clinton and the Democrats that allowed 9/11 and the bombing of the Cole to happen.

-4 ( +1 / -6 )

Amnesty is the perfect mouthpiece for your average prog. A.I.' s ridiculous, hollow, unenforceable demands allow Lefties to buy the cheap moral rectitude their substitute religion requires in order for the, uh, shock troops of 1st world suburban flakes to maintain 'solidarity' against the rest of us - who want no part of their preposterous utopianism.

Now get off your computer and get out there. Fight the good fight! You know what I mean: time for a new bumper sticker on your Volvo, man. The 'Free Tibet' one is a bit faded there.

"But l see you are siding with JT's biggest US basher on this one. HMMM amusing l thought you where smarter than that, guess a person can be wrong." Yeah and so what. You are on the other spectrum, so I don't see anything wrong with that. You thought I was smarter? Well, smart enough to know when someone is talking nonsense, I guess, I am right.

Sorry but you lost me there l said you are siding with JT's biggest US basher and you respond with "You are on the other spectrum" so are you saying l love the US. Im confused l dont think you know what your saying.... Maybe take a nap and then come back.

Not a defense, but the truth.

Oh so your saying because he has retired he should be left alone is that right? Afterall that is what you said I will quote you in case you forgot "Bush is gone retired, leave the man alone". So basically your defense is regardless of past deeds once someone retires alls forgiven and they should live out their life in peace.

You think Amnesty or any other organization for that matter will kick in Bush's door and arrest him, you ARE joking right?

No they cant because the rabid US would never allow it, see when its in the USA's interest they are happy to thumb their nose at world opinion especially when it comes to war criminals. They have done it time and again.

You liberals can never get over the fact that Bush is gone and is totally irrelevant to the world...except for MSNBC, many leftist radicals in Europe and that's about it.

Funny you keep refering to me as a liberal. That l find amusing, you think you know me and can pigeon hole me into you nice little liberal box. Buddy you know nothing about me and your name calling and labelling is laughable.

Arresting GWB is the same as thinking Ron Paul will be the NEXT President, it will NEVER happen. Talk about it, if you must, great for those warm family cozy sitting at the fire discussions, but other than that....

Well if l really cared who the next president of your country is going to be then your sentence would make sense, l couldnt care who your president is it could be Donald Duck for all l care. And personally l dont sit around talking US politics with family we tend to talk more interesting stuff.

But there are many people that might agree with me and think your criticism of Bush is way off the mark. I don't care what the biased U.S. liberal media says, they can say whatever they want

No doubt they are, and no doubt they drive around with confederate flags in the back windows of their pickup and have the mental capacity Cletus from the Simpsons.

Enhanced interrogations is not torture. Pulling off fingernails is, inflicting serious bodily injury, cutting and maiming them is. Water boarding isn't.

Thats laughable

imagine what will happen to a country who arrests Bush, it will be obliterated from the map.

Personally, I never had a problem with the man

What a selfish view. Personally you have no problem with Hitler, Bush etc. Ask Iraqi people
