Trump couldn't manage his way out of a paper bag. The emperor has no clothes.
Laguna
Rosenstein, Mueller and others are looking past Trump at their legacies. Comey is, too, but he seems to have a big chip on his shoulder (for good reason) and a trove of material to back up whatever ascertains he makes.
Trump made an historical mistake alienating these people - what he will now no doubt refer to as the "swamp." How it'll go down is anyone's guess, but one thing is highly probably: Any GOP agenda in Congress is now dead.
mtuffizi
not to admit his mistake and blamed on others, coward behavior.
not giving himself a chance to learn from the mistake, continue being a fool.
Scrote
Trump and his supporters keep insisting there was no wrongdoing. If that is true there cannot be any "bombshell news" around the corner and they have nothing to fear.
Triring
At the end both the Democrats and Republicans will require to look back and reflect on how Presidential elections is needed to be handled so they can nominate a more accountable candidate for Presidency.
Without it we will be seeing another "Trump" down the road.
IMHO, it should be more impartial and focused on the road map of the nation for the next four years and not the knee jerking, mud slinging tactics Trump had initiated.
commanteer
If they want to overturn the people's vote via impeachment, they'll need something better than this. Even if they succeeded, the damage to the nation would be irreparable - people would believe that voting no longer works. Which would only leave violence.
nandakandamanda
His body language is pure Richard III, "A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse!"
Well, he does have his own plane, but where could he escape to now? Not a happy bunny.
Blacklabel
This is the best solution possible. Because once it is done and (if) nothing is found, the Dems will have used their last ounce of credibility on a fairy tale. Trump has said there was no collusion, and there is no proof of it, so this is the best way to resolve the issue and move on. Of course if Mueller finds nothing, the Dems will just change their mind about how they feel about him too.
Triring
So a criminal charge during presidential campaign and in office is not enough.
It looks as if it doesn't, not the present knee jerking, mud slinging tactics that appeals to populism anyways.
viking68
Better than obstruction of justice?
Shooting someone dead wouldn't be as bad as obstruction of justice because obstruction deals with limits and abuse of power.
Besides, an impeachment for obstruction would not overturn any vote. Trump won, he keeps reminding himself of that. Impeachment is removing someone from office for a crime!!!! That is a yuge difference.
Trump is just a two bit conman playing in the world leagues.
His best bet would have been to surround himself with world league players. Instead, he chose Bannon (two bit hate monger), Kushner, his daughter Ivanka, Spicer, Sessions, etc.??? The world league players like Sec of Def are a side show to the inner circle.
Trump cannot stand up to the likes of Comey and now Mueller. Those guys are world class and will have no remorse.
Blacklabel
So what is this criminal charge against Trump himself related to Russian election interference that everyone thinks they are going to find? That is what the investigation is about right? or did it change AGAIN to include anything after the election that they think might stick? Its sad when your investigation reveals nothing so you just keep expanding the scope hoping to find SOMEthing.
This is fine, any media questions can go to the special counsel and Trump and his people can stop responding to the everyday attacks and get back to executing their agenda.
Blacklabel
So please tell me how Trump obstructed justice as it relates to the investigation into Russia's influence on the 2016 elections?
Strangerland
Is anyone else tired of his winning yet?
Strangerland
By firing the person leading the investigation into it.
Blacklabel
Negative. The investigation is still ongoing without that person. The acting FBI Director said there has been no interference in the investigation. He says they have all the resources they need despite the fake story saying otherwise. Comey himself testified on May 3rd that there has been no interference. A special counsel has even been appointed to continue the investigation.
Plus, you cant prove obstruction until you prove the collusion actually happened in the first place. You cant (and wouldnt need to) obstruct something that never happen.
Strangerland
Logic failure there. Firing the person leading the investigation for failure to pledge absolute loyalty is obstruction, whether the investigation continues or not.
Two for two on the logic failures. You're saying the investigation can't be obstructed if it hasn't been concluded - if the investigation were concluded there would be no investigation to obstruct.
Sorry mate, your overlord is looking worse and worse by the day.
Blacklabel
So basically people are saying Comey could never be fired for substandard job performance EVER until the final results of the investigation were released even 5 years from now? Maybe that is what he thought too and why he was acting so erratic and unprofessional. If he had passed away during the investigation, would it have just stopped due to him not being there? No, it continues on without him just like it is now.
Blacklabel
That absolute loyalty story has no proof. Even so, the President is allowed to fire the FBI Director, for any or no reason.
Thats not how obstruction works, but whatever. No proof Trump asked Comey to stop either.Strangerland
You're the only one who said that.
Yeah! How unprofessional, not pleading unquestioning and undying loyalty to Dear Leader. How dare him.
And if something else entirely irrelevant to another thing happened, something completely different wouldn't happen!
Strangerland
Yeah! No proof other than the proof!
Not to impede an investigation into Dear Leader.
Amazing that you'll defend Dear Leader putting self before country. That's the kind of president you want?
CrazyJoe
Thanks to the Department of Justice for stepping up and doing the right thing. Robert Mueller is the perfect choice for special counsel, as a former FBI director.
So Trump fires Comey for investigating him and not backing off of Flynn. Now Comey's predecessor, mentor and role model leads the investigation. I hope he can find out if there was collusion, election tampering and attempts to obstruct justice. If he can't and there was no obstruction, collusion or election tampering, we can get on with the country's business.
Blacklabel
what proof is there of this loyalty story that was leaked to the press? Any notes or recordings? Did anyone else hear it or can testify Comey told them about it when it happened? Has Comey himself testified it happened? No but he testified this on May 3rd.
He also never mentioned it or the memo the Senate Intelligence Committee heads (Repub and Dem) when they spoke with him in detail the day before he was fired. Its funny how when these guys are under oath everything is perfectly fine and dandy.
Dems are putting politics before the American people. Trump would like nothing better to execute the agenda he was elected by the people to do.
Strangerland
Screams "Benghazi" with no proof.
Screws "Show proof" when Trump asks for loyalty.
The hypocrisy runs deep in the 'Pubs.
Strangerland
What election are you talking about? The people didn't elect Trump, the Electoral College did. The people didn't and don't want his agenda.
Laguna
Blacklable, not sure what your obsession with this is, but here's the story.
Russia interfered in an American presidential election - this is clear. How, and whether they received aid from certain parties, must be ascertained. That is that.
Trump's first pick as NSA adviser, Flynn, had clearly done a long list of dubious things that Trump was warned about, yet Trump did not fire him until these became public. He then, apparently, asked the director of the FBI, Comey, to quit any investigation. Comey refused to promise this. Trump then fired Comey. That gun is smoking furiously.
Funny enough, whether it's the crime or the cover-up that is the point here remains unclear. Perhaps (probably, in my opinion), it is both. And we're talking about Trump: He has and will continue to anger very powerful people, and they will continue to feed him the rope which will be used to hang him. (Likely that's one reason why Rosenstein appointed Mueller - remember when the Administration used Rosenstein's memo as the cause for firing Comey, only for Trump to refute that two days later? There is no love lost here.) Enjoyable to imagine is Obama and the Clintons observing this meltdown. Trump has already royally screwed things up - and he's just getting started!
Ah_so
Vice president Pence takes another step towards the top job.
I don't suppose he needs to encourage Trump to behave like an irrational spoilt teenager - that is what Trump is essentially, but he must be hoping that her keeps it up.
Blacklabel
Ok great so I have a 'must be ascertained', a 'how and whether', a 'dubious' an 'apparently' which is called a smoking gun? None of those words are related to anything factual, at best that evidence still needs to be found to support it. The only crime that has been proven is the illegal leaking of Michael Flynn's name. A person/group of people apparently doing something dubious is about as far from proof of a crime as you can get.
Again where are the documents, the emails, the recordings, the testimony under oath from Comey or others involved that any of that happened. I agree with the appointment of Mueller because when he reports that nothing criminal happened, the Dems will have nothing left to obstruct with.
MrBum
So did the Republicans lose their last ounce of credibility with you after a dozen investigations that found nothing? I'm guessing not. People on the side that throws around the word "hypocrite" the most are rarely self-aware.
We're in the middle of the first investigation into the Russian interference, and Trump is already trying to obstruct it. His full tax records might clear things up as far as his business dealings, but he won't even give those up. Every president in the last 40 years has released their tax returns. Trump, one of the most vocal Obama-birthers, has not. And you talk about credibility...
Laguna
Uh... isn't that the entire point of an investigation?
commanteer
They are nowhere near showing obstruction of justice. An offhand comment shows nothing except political naivety. Obama was savvy enough to do all his deals behind closed doors.
Obstruction of justice requires proof of intent. Good luck with that. As of now, they have nothing at all in Trump.
But as I said, they can always try to alienate half the country once again.
MrBum
I meant a dozen Benghazi investigations in my last post...
Strangerland
"Obama did it too! We just have no one saying it happened, and nothing to show it happened, which is proof he hid it!"
Blacklabel
Sure, so why is it already being used as talking points as proof that Trump and his team are guilty of something if the investigation has yet to uncover it? FBI Director fired because he refused to pledge loyalty they say. MEMO says Trump asked Comey to drop investigation they say. Then because those are presented as facts, then that means justice was obstructed they say.
Ok, what part of the investigation has looked into that and shown those to be a factual statement with evidence? Has Comey even been asked under oath about these two items? No he hasnt. This memo, where is it? Oh did you see that none of the media who wrote and confirmed the story have even seen the memo? How can you publish news based on something that you have never seen?
Yet it is already being treated and true and used to build upon to get to criminal level activities. That is just not right. Investigate, find evidence, then write the story. Not get an unnamed leak and just throw it out there and make people defend against it.
Blacklabel
Well, maybe the new special counsel can also get his hands on some Comey memos about Obama and Hillary. Seeing as he is all meticulous and trustworthy I am sure they exist and anything in those can be used to start criminal investigations as needed right? I wonder what Comey felt and wrote in his notes when he was asked (ordered?) to let it go concerning Hillary's felonies.
Basically the press was fair to Obama and wouldnt publish any stories without facts. I.e. would make the leaker provide a copy of the memo and actually read it themselves before writing a hit piece. Trump doesnt get the courtesy of someone independent verifying if something is true before it is published.
Strangerland
Says the guy who still calls Hillary guilty, even though she's never been found guilty.
Hypocrisy anyone?
dcog9065
The biggest trainwreck in the history of America. Looking past after Trump is impeached and jailed for treason as well as the rube traitors in Congress who aided this farce, America's democracy needs to comprehensively change in its structure to permanently prevent a Trump situation from ever happening again. Never Again
FizzBit
Did not!
Did so!
Did not!
Did so!
And some are flabbergasted why we claim fake news all the time.....
“I hope you can let this go,” which is not a clear interference in a judicial investigation,
is twisted and spun into
"to quit any investigation"
Then Comey leaks HIS memo...
At least TRY to be a little objective in your hatred.
MrBum
It's never reported as facts, just one side's word against the other. I have my problems with the MSM, but if you have to resort to saying it's all fake, the problem is you (i.e., Trump and his defenders).
John-San
Blacklabel: Mauller will take over the investigation from where Comey and his team got to but the term of reference has change. Mauller can take investigation anywhere he wants. He got full power over any org, institution or Departments not even concern with the election. He has the same powers as a Special Prosecutor just a different name.
FizzBit
These days, if it's coming from the MSM, you have to assume it's fake first before reading it, especially when you see the word "anonymous source". I know it looks as if I'm defending Trump but that's not what's in my heart. It's this all out MSM/globalist subversive campaign that's got me pissed.
Blacklabel
@John-san: Great! maybe he can take over a couple of the 'let it go' investigations into Hillary and Podesta too. It is supposed to be an investigation into the entire 2016 election, not just Trump. Other people talked to Russia too, and even made money from them you know?
@Strange: you can say it as many times as you want. But Comey confirmed with evidence that Hillary committed multiple felonies based on written law passed by Congress. Somehow he just 'let it go' either on his own or because he was asked. The released emails from the AG saying she would make sure it didnt go too far back up the theory.
I supposed if she actually went to court, she would be in jail. But yeah ok, she is officially not guilty but in the OJ Simpson group of that category. Also, nothing says the investigation cant be reopened with the new Director. So she better stay in the woods collecting that dark money a little longer, she might need it.
MrBum
@FizzBit
Well, a lot of the other complaints about Trump in the MSM have been substantiated or are simply facts. Whatever you think of the MSM/globalist subversive campaign, they didn't force him to make any of his terrible decisions. If you have a problem with the system, Trump is obviously not the man to fix it. Maybe you know that, but I've never seen you say a bad word about Trump.
Strangerland
Skepticism is healthy. Presumption of fakeness by default is loony.
Sorry, you lose all credibility with statements like that.
Doubling down on your hypocrisy. Nice.
Blacklabel
Several laws were proven to have been broken and there is purposely no hypocrisy in the law. When a crime is committed any and all who violate it should face judgement and punishment. Hypocrisy is hiding behind a not guilty verdict for someone who did everything they were accused of, yet were not held accountable and were not judged.
Strangerland
Tripling down on it now!
bass4funk
Once again and their fruitless search for something that isn't there. Dog chases tail.
Jimizo
Unlike the crackpot conspiracy theory sites which seemed to have informed you that checkable, basic facts are MSM/deep state lies. You treated us to the mind-blowing idea that checkable things like the content of the Hamas charter are MSM lies. It's there.
Be sceptical by all means, but the lunacy of the conspiracy theory nutcase sites need particular suspicion. Worth bearing in mind.
Ah_so
There is an adolescent scepticism out there that things on the MSM are basically lies and that conspiracy sites have the truth. The MSM is dismissed (yet rarely is evidence produced as to why) and conspiracy sites are accepted unquestioningly. It is unsurprising that Trump could come to power in such an environment.
bass4funk
They might be indeed
Such as?
viking68
If you can't face facts and reality, reargue the past with a conspiracy theory.
nandakandamanda
Well, I figured we were in for a Rocky Ride, so I fastened my seatbelt, but this Swamp Ride is something else. What will happen next?
Jimizo
What in the name of non-existent, non-partisan historians claiming the Bush years were a roaring success are you ObamamaybeaMusliming about now?
There are some barking mad and plain dishonest ideas out there that you need to be aware of. Even Fox News isn't immune. I would say the newspaper you work for, The Washington Post, tends to have higher standards than trash right or nutty conspiracy sites. I wouldn't trust it 100% but it is one of the better ones. I'm sure you'd agree.
inkochi
Someone's point about Trump aides trying to do their work all the while waiting for the next news-bomb.
And, I wonder if Pence is happily going about heading that committee investigating Trump's allegations of voter-fraud, all the while knowing that the next news bomb could bring a resignation, a stroke or an impeachment to shoe him into the top job
FizzBit
Ah, and here it comes, that jump to conclusion. It's no secret or a conspiracy theory JIMIZO that 6 corporations own 90% of the media. The list of media properties owned by these 6 is staggering. It's is very obvious to some how these 6 collude to keep important information away from the ears and minds of US citizens. For example, I wonder if it would come as a shock to you that Noam Chomsky has never been interviewed live on FOX, MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, he had an interview set up on NPR's "All Things Considered", but it was canceled by some "bigwig in the system" half an hour before airing. Phil Donahue fired. Just two examples. If you are unable to see this collusion, then I just fell sorry for you. So please take your conspiracy theory website accusations back to Yahoo news where it belongs.
You brought up the Hamas Charter Jimizo, I never mentioned it. So here we go again, you've created a FAKE argument to massage your emotions.
See above.
MrBum
So every source owned by the corporations is fake, and everything not owned by them is automatically true? That's a really simplistic way of at looking at things. You mentioned Noam Chomsky, but his view of things is a lot more nuanced. He doesn't have too many nice things to say about Trump either.
Where are your complaints about the fake news and lies that come from Trump's Twitter account? Granted, he's just the POTUS, not the news media.
John-San
Yes Black. But you remember Comey and Mauller go back years. I comment before that Comey has friends. Yes he can go over Seth murder and I really hope he does. I dislike Trump. but he not a criminal or a tax cheat, just like all Elite they paid hardly any Tax. Trump is incompetence. period. Where Hill,s is a criminal, sly and I assume involve in murders. going back decades. Mauler will find no crimes but plenty of incompetence from when Trump decide to run. If Mauller wants his tax he can and he might find some crime but nothing involving Russia, No Trump is Politically incompetent. So the best option for the Rep,s is for Trump to fake severe illness and let Pence at Office, Pence would have way better chance of election and 3 years of good presidency would back that in.
Swift_Justice
@Black:
You obviously have no idea what is obstruction of justice. Allow me:
Sections 1503, 1505 and 1512 of Title 18 have variants of language making it a crime if someone corruptly “obstructs, influences or impedes any official proceeding.”
Asking the official in charge of the investigation to drop it is influencing the investigation, especially when you hold that official's job in your hands.
Another spoon feeding of a conservative done. I really should get paid for this.
FizzBit
Look, you don't care for Tump, I get that. So you're saying you see no collusion when multiple MSM, all coming out with the same or similar headlines, at around the same time, creating a large nationwide reaction, all based on a simple phone call and something about a memo. That is deception on a massive scale.
I also remember when 4 or 5 national magazines all came out with similar anti-Putin covers all in the same few weeks. That is deception on a massive scale.
Not all are dishonest/fake, but mostly when their peddling their anonymously sourced "gotcha" stories. FOX is no better.
Strangerland
So they should suppress reporting simply because another agency has reported it? Only the first agency to find out a story should be reporting it?
The Russians have meddled in the US election (even Dear Leader admitted this). It's not surprising that multiple magazines would capitalize on this as a story.
smithinjapan
FizzBit: "So you're saying you see no collusion when multiple MSM, all coming out with the same or similar headlines"
When something is fact, people report said fact in the same manner. Only FOX 'news' doesn't report the facts, but they never really have. Just because they create ALTERNATIVE facts, which you guys automatically believe for some reason, does not make the real facts fake.
And the funniest part is, even FOX can't get Republicans on as guests to defend Trump after Comey's letter. In fact, I'm willing you guys, once the computer handles come off and you're in the real world again, don't say outwardly that you still support the man.
FizzBit
OK. I give up. It was me who called the NYT about the memo. Sorry, I just wanted to create a reaction based on here-say.
Wrong story, this was many years ago, way before Hillary invented the Russian story to cover for her loss. If meddling in elections is so important, where are/were the stories of the US meddling in Honduras (2009-Hillary never officially declaring it a coup, helping it), and Ukraine (2014). And of course Hillary's actions in Haiti hardly made the news and certainly NOT on the scale that it should have=MSM.
MrBum
Not necessarily, no. Let's just say the accusations are true. Wouldn't you expect the same uniformity in headlines? A POTUS under investigation firing the FBI director is BIG news and worthy of being covered and fully investigated. Of course all the new outlets are going to have similar headlines...
Get your head out of your deep state.
Jandworld
So this is only the first 100some days. Lets see what happens when the Donald goes abroad as head of state.
Ah_so
Does anyone remember how many were saying that once he got into the job he would calm down and get on with it. Ha! The man is a bigger joke than even the comedians imagined.
clamenza
Typical slanted, emotional story by an AP writer whose political leanings are obviously not Republican. Get in line, honey.
Meanwhile, several political pundits in the past weeks have quietly acknowledged President Trump has breached no ethical standards.
Polls also show that the majority of Americans don't care, and call it what it is; more histrionic wailing from the leftwing media for the usual lemmings to eat up.
Trump's expression in this photo says it all. Its all just white noise while he keeps on winning.
Tamarama
As I look to the right of the JT page, 4 of the 5 most popular stories are about Donald Trump.
I don't care about Donald Trump enough to be reading that much about him. And, the problem is, it's ALL ABOUT HIM.
That's not the way things should be with a US President.
Should we take a guess on how long he is going to last?
I say he will be gone before October.
Jimizo
What polls are they and when did Trump supporters start trusting polls?
Wolfpack
True - and he didn't even get the services of an intern.
Cliffy
I meant to say, he could manage if and only if he learned to stop sending out messages based on emotions and talk/listen to his aids/advisors. All these pretty much shows that he and his team are not talking/listening to each other. Probably he only had 'yes' man working for him far too long.
Jandworld
Well Disney had Donald and Dagobert as opponents, do they mix now in 2017?
SuperLib
Should be a fun investigation. The memos will be fun to read over, and maybe we can even get Trump's taxes. I'm especially going to like watching the white billionaire President talk about how unfair the world is to him. He's going to go full, whiny victim on this one.
bass4funk
And what happens if there's nothing? Which is most likely, will you guys stop polluting the environment by buying up thousands of boxes of Kleenex or will you continue to have tantrums?
Swift_Justice
@Bass:
And what happens if there is something? Will you and Black at. al accept it, or will you attempt to distort reality and not accept it like you did with the fact that Trump disclosed classified intelligence to the Russians?
Which is pure speculation on your part.
Swift_Justice
@Fizz:
Thanks for clearing that up. Certain posters whose screenames begin with B will undoubtedly point to this as accurate.
By the way, it's "hearsay."
gcbel
It was clear from the beginning that this was going to be the mother of all clown shows. Trump supporters were deluding themselves thinking he was going to pivot and become more presidential. It's exactly what you'd expect, less than four months into it and crisis after gaffe after crisis with supporters doling out blame to everyone except the nitwit they elected. Slo-mo train wreck. Best case for Trump if he survives this (he can still make it worse), it'll be on to the next crisis and the next and the next.
Swift_Justice
Someone forgot to tell Trump this:
We are supposed to believe that there were numerous illegal acts that took place during the Obama Administration but a Republican controlled Congress never took any action. At least Trump is staying true to being in an alternate universe.
How long will it take before Trump supporters start using this line in an attempt to deflect? I give it about 3.141 seconds.
Swift_Justice
@Bass:
Of course it would have because if something isn't discovered within three hours, it doesn't exist. We've been down this road before. How long did it take Republicans to uncover nothing regarding Benghazi? How long did it take for Watergate to be investigated?
The Watergate investigation was from at least October 10, 1972 until July 27, 1974, which was 1 year, 8 months, and 17 days. And, before you start obfuscating by saying Trump has done nothing impeachable so Watergate is irrelevant, I am pointing out the length of the investigation.
It wasn't supposedly said, it was said:
"In the meeting last week, Mr. Trump told Sergey V. Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister, and Sergey I. Kislyak, the Russian ambassador, details about the Islamic State plot, including the city in Syria where the ally learned the information, the current official said."
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/16/world/middleeast/israel-trump-classified-intelligence-russia.html
Apparently so, but you already knew that.
And, cue the bringing in extraneous informations/questions; questioning the credibility of the NYTimes; attempting to deny that Trump said this; etc. Too predictable, but feel free.
ClippetyClop
Millions of extra votes at the next election. People can only stand so much winning.

He is a mini-series. He will be gone by Christmas, but so might we if the buffoon tries to deflect attention by bombing North Korea, or maybe South... Dakota.
mukashiyokatta
See that picture? Soon you will see it again -- but it will be a helicopter on the White House lawn (geddit?)!
Jimizo
Why would it be out already? Investigations need to be made and evidence needs to be sought. If the evidence is there, it's there. If not, it's not.
This isn't the trash right world of Obama is an atheist/Muslim/not a US citizen/anti-Christ or that he may cancel the election and declare martial law/Sharia. That stupidity flies on the lunatic fringe because it is insane and almost impossible to refute. Ask the nutters over on the lunatic fringe what evidence they would accept that Obama is not the anti-Christ.
This is too fresh in the memory to call what is going on with the accusations against Trump 'stupid'.
mmwkdw
It sounds like the old North-South divide is really in play within the US. From what I've read, there's been no real wrong doing - he's been a leader trying to protect those whom he chose, and he stands-up for them...
Politicians are all about Back stabbing when you have the chance - so who benefits with all of this ?
Certainly not the US. And given the current situation with NK, events may take a nasty turn triggered now by one side or the other.
Folks, Russia has nothing to gain by trying to black-mail the US President. Such a situation would result in the President announcing that he has been Composed by a Foreign Nation, and in effect, it would put the US into a War footing with that Nation.... subterfuge.
However, History books may tell us later, that Russia did interfere, but not in the way that the Media suggests, but instead, by providing a false breadcrumb trail that the gullible Senate followed to its conclusion....
Trump has made mistakes, yes - and hopefully he will admit them at some point, (assuming hes consulted his Lawyers first). However, this current situation does not help World security, infact in a Wildly worst case scenario it could lead to Trump Nuking NK as a distraction....
bass4funk
Oh, without a doubt.
I think it's the other way around.
They did, it was that the former FBI director was put in a position make an indictment and didn't want to be the center of attention for causing the election for either side, the decision should have been left to Lynch, but she compromised herself when she was caught with Bill Clinton strangely on the tarmac ready to board a plane. Anyway, she didn't win, so it's all good.
How long did it take for Whitewater to be investigated?
What??? ROFL
Once you quoted the NYT, I turned out. Anyway, you can't get a more bias and Anti-Trump outlet than the NYT, even CNN is fairer to Trump.
Good Luck with that. LOL
This is too fresh in the memory to call what is going on with the accusations against Trump 'stupid'
Dunno about that.....
Jandworld
Let him meet the pope.
Jimizo
There you have it. The lunatic fringe cannot distinguish an investigation into possible ties with Russia from claims that Obama is not a US citizen or the incarnation of Beelzebub.
Quack!
Wolfpack
Disagree with Obama on policy and immediately be labeled a racist. Call out the president for being white and well - be called out for actually being a racist! Sometimes the shoe fits... Just imagine if a conservative actually attacked Obama for being a black millionaire! Oh, it's too horrible to contemplate!!!
I think this is going to be a fantastic investigation. I am hoping for a lot of stuff to turn up on Obama since most of this stretches into his administration. The loosened rules for the disclosure of "masked" American's in foreign intel reports that Obama implemented, and the planting of partisan moles ahead of Trump assuming office in order to leak confidential info to the press in order to embarrass him. Sure would be fun if the investigation turns and bites the Dems in the butt. The only crimes that we know have taken place are that classified information has been leaked to the press by partisans in the intel agencies. Let's get it on!
Wolfpack
Don't you think the Dems / media's coup attempt distraction enough?
ReturningGrace
I don't even need a brain cell to know that there's no Russian ties. But they should keep the investigation going because if they conclude it, they ain't have anything to show. If there is an investigation going (at least until Trump lasts), that vague narrative of the so-called "Russian ties" will keep people guessing. The point isn't to show the truth but to insinuate a certain narrative by being vague about everything. And those who hate Trump so much don't really want to know the truth neither. They just want a story that fits their narrative.
SuperLib
Is it fair to say Trump has been the disaster that most of us predicted?
Allies distancing themselves, Russians getting special favorable treatment, no tax returns, associates getting fired for non-disclosure, family members profitting, Twitter rants against private citizens, an uncountable number of blatant lies, whiny victimization, failed election promises, no ISIS plan, the list is endless.
And we predicted all of it.
Swift_Justice
@Bass:
This was my prediction at the end of my 11:07 pm post, and exactly what you did:
"And, cue the bringing in extraneous informations/questions; questioning the credibility of the NYTimes; attempting to deny that Trump said this; etc. Too predictable, but feel free"
This was your response to refuting your contention that if any earth shattering evidence existed of collusion between Trump and Russia had been discovered it would have been released already. My refutation was not about the FBI's investigation into Clinton's emails, but you wanted to muddy the debate, so said this:
Also, Comey left it up to Lynch to determine whether charges would be brought. You can read about it in the statement he released detailing what the FBI found.
This was your response to me pointing out that investigations of serious allegations take time:
The answer is years. You can read about it by googling "chronology of Whitewater."
And, here is your response to me citing the New York Times:
This is a naked assertion of opinion without support, which is your rhetorical style in the face of those who present cogent arguments supported by factual evidence. It is extremely ineffective.
Thank you for not failing to live up to my prediction of how you would respond.

He's not looking at all well, is he?
The most disturbing aspect to this whole sorry mess is the spectacular refusal by Trump enablers to even consider he might be in the wrong. I haven't seen such unerring devotion since the last news report from Pyongyang.
The Russian links won't go away and the more obfuscation and lies that emanate from the White House, the more certain the downfall of Trump is.

I do.

That's what I think about their credibility.
No, because I believe in innocence until proven guilty and that hasn't been established yet.
I did so, I do you guys on the left cool your jets and see how this investigation turns out.

@Bass:
Haha. Now you are coming around to our side. None of us have been saying he is guilty, we have been saying his actions are worth investigating. You, however, have been vehemently denying that Trump's actions are worth investigating and that the accurate reports about his actions are fabricated.
The Herald Sun is your source?! Everyone knows they are the worst purveyors of fake news among the MSM. (You taught me how to do this.)
So you agree that we should see how this investigation turns out, which is exactly what us on the left have been saying while you on the right have been howling and screaming about how unfair/unnecessary an investigation is.
bass4funk
How so? I always had this position.
Come again? That's like saying, Santa really does exist. Come on now....
No, I want an investigation, I think it would be interesting to see the Feds waste everyone's time and to find out in the end, there's probably nothing. I want it because when the Feds come to the conclusion that they found nothing, I want the left to eat as much crow as possible with extra hot sauce.
No, they at least give the president a fair shake and are critical when it is necessary, the NYT are on a Jihad to oust Trump, they admitted it and not even trying to hide it and you think for a second any normal thinking person would believe that crap?
I'm fine with it, I think it's amusing, waste of money, but this might be better, do it, get it over with and wait and see the jaws drop on the left once again and if by any chance something nefarious does come up and bounces Trump out of office (still unlikely, Dems don't even have anywhere near the votes necessary to impeach him) we will have Pence, a real conservative, so either way, be careful what you wish for. LOL

@Bass:
Go and cut and paste one time that I have said Teump is guilty. I'll wait.
Whats your evidence? Prove it!
bass4funk
No, but you guys are a tad eluding that he is guilty, so by that alone, it seems plausible.

Sulzberger's letter to subscribers promises that the paper will strive to understand all political perspectives, but "bad or sloppy journalism doesn't fully capture The Times' sins," said Goodwin.
"Not after it announced that it was breaking its rules of coverage because Trump didn't deserve fairness," he said.

@Bass:
Your source is the NYTimes?!!!!! That's rich. Here is what you said when I cited the NYTimes as a source:
Does anyone else smell that? It's the stench of hypocrisy.
I'm almost getting bored of intellectually batting around conservatives, almost.
bass4funk
I quoted what Publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. who is one of THE MOST partisan left people at that place.
I too, wish liberals and Dems would change their ways, but alas.....
Swift_Justice
@Bass:
So when you quote the NYTimes, it's credible. When someone else quotes the Times, it lacks all credibility.
Right. Got it.
bass4funk
Not the NYT, goodness, NO! I quoted directly from "the man" who made that comment.

Crisis which cant be managed? Lol wow the left wing and the media especially are completely living in a fantasy. There are no trump ties to russia. There is no scandal or controversy. Appointing a special prosecute on Nothing will result in nothing. What is amazing is how much fire the left wing is willing to play with. As they accuse trump of nefarious crimes with russia based on the fact his people were on the same landmass as russians and made some phone calls, the left has forgotten the very real criminal activity with hillary and her people with Russia. Specifically, the sale of an american uranium processing company to Russia, where the clinton foundation received a "donation" to purchase secretary of state hillary's approval and how Hillary's guy John Podesta had stock on the company, made money and then attempted to hide this investment by signing the stock over to his daughter. This is russian ties and the left is risking someone investigating this because at the end of the trump investigation, a couple of phone calls from trumps team is not a crime and leads to no crime, so the procecutor will need to hang someone and the best criminal russian ties to get a conviction from are Hillary's ties.

@Bass:
Really?

At this moment, the American Idiot-in-Chief is lecturing Middle Eastern leaders about Islam. So what's on the schedule for tomorrow? Will the Saudi leader come to the UN and give a lecture to Western leaders about Christianity? Is Trump going to give a lecture in Israel about Judaism? Someone needs to put a sock in this guy's mouth.

What America need to do before he got "elected" was look at trump from a businessman point of view. Loom at how he ran his companies to see if he was a hands on person, one who takes responsibility for his action or just a cowardly clown. I guess that cat is outta the bag now!
