India, in particular, continues to make significant strides, as PM Modi said today to India[dot]com. Quoted, "Talking about India’s robust vaccine drive, PM Modi said the country is now running the world’s largest vaccination campaign. “Recently, we vaccinated about 25 million people on a single day. Our grassroots-level healthcare system has delivered over 800 million vaccine doses so far. Over 200 million Indians are now fully vaccinated.”
And it was acknowledged by the UK, when it granted acceptance of Covishield (just minor technicals remain over the CoWIN app). https://www.republicworld.com/world-news/uk-news/covishield-not-a-problem-discussions-on-with-builders-of-cowin-app-uk-high-commissioner.html . Challenge between India and the UK ramains over what to do with those injected with Sputnik V that is manufactured under license by Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, with production commencing by Serum Institute of India. It is approved for use in India but not acknowledged as sufficient within the EU and the UK.
Africa is also showing remarkable strides with their vaccination rates, as well, which will without doubt improve green light treatment from the UK and others. But the hurry remains that this is the start of the tourst season in Africa, and they badly need the tourists that so far are hesitant in the face of red light treatment.
