I can't wait for all the Trump cultists to respond to this with cries of "Obama Deep State!", oblivious to the fact that the writer of this op-ed is clearly Republican, what with their cheerleading for deregulation and all.

This is why leaders require the support of those being lead, in order to lead. Otherwise they are spending their efforts in fighting with their own people, rather than moving their people forward.

Good leaders know this, and lead through respect. Bad leaders are clueless, try to lead through fear, and think everything is someone else's fault.

21 ( +24 / -3 )

But, the official wrote, "We believe our first duty is to this country

I'm not buying it. The modern GOP's first duty is ensuring the wealth and power of the country remains in their hands and in the hands of their constituents, mainly America's elite class, with support from many in a demographic made up of America's angry, alienated and aging.

the president continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic."

That seems like a bang on correct assessment. But GoTrumpers in the US and 'abroad' claimed that's what they've wanted all along, that they wanted to further sicken an already unhealthy republic. And the GOP powers were fully aware of that.

GOP and your supporters 'abroad': you own these messes.

Yeah, the cultist and Dump will try to use it as proof, but the person in the article is actually trying to protect Dump. Go figure?!

Dump just don't like the fact that Woodard's book is more accurate than he wants to admit. History has shown with Woodard's other books that he has been closer to the mark than most.

Who would have thought that a petty person who hate tweets late at night, who tries to use their office to make money for his family, who has affairs while married, who has been sued for cheating partners and customers, who has been proven to have lied over 4,000 since last year, and who is currently being investigation for breaking laws would need other people to make sure he doesn't do anything wrong because he is an idiot.

I am shocked!

17 ( +20 / -3 )

Wow....

This just gets stranger by the day.

Regardless of whether or not Trump is guilty of anything or not this is really one messed up situation and one very messed up administration.

It seems to me the best move would be for the President to resign. There is just way too much weird stuff going on.

14 ( +16 / -2 )

A Fox Business Network panelist on Thursday said President Trump has been one of his "anonymous sources" over the years, after the president railed against media using anonymous sources during a rally in Montana.

I think Fox News misunderstood. Trump wasn't railing against the use of anonymous sources in general, he was railing against the use of anonymous sources against him.

14 ( +16 / -2 )

I have a problem with petty attacks

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

After eight years of petty attacks on Obama, you actually write this and expect us to believe it? What, do you think we're all trumps or something?

14 ( +16 / -2 )

A dilemma for these Trump officials is whether to conduct subterfuge or publicly oppose. The author of this piece is clearly with the former; while that helps blunt Trump's worst instincts, it also enables him by masking opposition.

If like-minded Trump administration officials had any guts, they'd go for the 25th Amendment.

13 ( +15 / -2 )

Well, when you elect a proven scammer and known liar, bad things happen.

Anyway, we already know Trump is unfit for office. Some people care, some don't. All his base has to do is support him no matter how inept he is. That's where they get their power.

12 ( +15 / -3 )

Hell, I wrote it. Prove I didn’t.

Prove it wasn't Kelly Conway, Sarah Sanders or Ivanka Trump. pffft.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

"Top members of Donald Trump's administration are so alarmed by the president's "erratic" and "amoral" behavior that they are actively working to undermine him, an anonymous "senior official" wrote in The New York Times Wednesday."

This group does have the power to stop this president. But they still view him as their best hope for Supreme Court nominees, tax cuts for the rich, and removing regulations that protect workers and the environment. I read this as they are still willing to make this bargain.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

Wow, so now someone is accusing the porn star using, foul mouthed, kitty grabbing liar of being amoral? It took them long enough. But really, I do think dementia may be part of the mix. It can make people meaner than they would normally be, and Trump was mean to begin with. Abuse of caregivers is fairly common, and his handlers are no doubt fed up by now.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

I see it like this, if the person doesn’t like the President or his/her job, quit. I don’t have a problem with a person not liking the President, I have a problem with petty attacks,

Then why is it you think the petty attacks by the President is all right? He's the leader of petty attacks.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

Trump has had business with porn stars. True Trump talks about grabbing p.... True Trump is vulgar. True. Trump lies. True Trump is a poor example to children. True Trump has worked actively against immigrants, both legal and illegal. True Trump has destroyed our connection with current allies. True Trump has tried to be buddies with non-allies. True Trump does not even attempt to be a president of all the people in the USA, and Democrats are seen as enemies. True. Trump has worked actively against all enviromental protection, and has put a leader into place to further erode the power of that department. True.

Forgive me if I tend to believe almost everything bad at this point.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

Trump's enemies still don't get it. All they do is personally attack him (and there is plenty to focus on). But they don't seem to understand that what the electorate cares about is jobs and the economy

Then why is half the country up in arms over Trump? Your comment isn't supported by the facts.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

"impetuous, adversarial, petty and ineffective"

"The root of the problem is the president's amorality,"

Yup, descriptions of Trump and his followers.

9 ( +13 / -4 )

There is no guarantee anything they released is true

A tleast we can be sure that most things that come out of Trump's mouth is a lie.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

And let's get this out of the way:

A Fox Business Network panelist on Thursday said President Trump has been one of his "anonymous sources" over the years, after the president railed against media using anonymous sources during a rally in Montana.

"Just heard @POTUS at this rally complaining about the use of anonymous sources," Charles Gasparino tweeted. "For the record he was one of mine over the years."

https://www.google.com/amp/thehill.com/homenews/395729-fox-business-reporter-trump-rails-against-anonymous-sources-but-was-one-of-mine-over%3famp

9 ( +11 / -2 )

President Trump is the gift that keeps on giving. It's fun to wake up every morning and see the latest, hilarious example of just how much of a joke the U.S. has become.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

I don't think anyone expects you to believe anything of the sort. Anyone who isn't determined to defend Donald Trump no matter what probably finds it pretty easy to believe.

That's about it. Trumpians are lemmings - they will believe whatever Trump tells them to believe, and disbelieve anything else. They lack the ability to think critically.

For the rest of us though, this is entirely plausible, based on his very public actions and words. Of course, it's not proven, but you'd have to be an idiot to think it wasn't plausible or even probable.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

Don’t think that’s too much to ask for.

Sure it is. After eight years of you guys being obstructionist during the Obama administration, it's weird you would think the democrats wouldn't do the same back.

It's definitely too much to ask.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

Heh, Trump has now tweeted that this is treason, and that the Times must turn over their anonymous source.

Once again, he's whining about anonymous sources that aren't himself.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

Glad to see there are still Americans who put the country before politics. Something totally lost on Trump supporters.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

And so it comes to this.  Trump uses identity politics to try to divide us; immigrants, race, gender, left-right, etc.

But what Woodward's book and this article in the Times confirm is that their is no Democratic "Deep State" out to thwart him - this is an existential war within the Republican Party - are they the party of Reagan or the party of Trump?

Trump won round one when he defeated all the establishment candidates to be the Republican nominee.  But the establishment wasn't completely vanquished - as we have seen, they "played along" with Trump and made nice.  But they have used their bureaucratic power to stymie his most dangerous impulses.

So next time you see a Trump supporter invoke the conspiracy of the Democratic Deep State (which we will no doubt see from the Trumpsters here), tell them to look at their own party - all these senior White House officials are Republicans, and remind them once again that Robert Mueller is a life-long Republican appointed by a Republican Dep Attorney General with the concurrence of a Republican Congress.

I don't like to use trite phrases but this really is a fight for the soul of the Republican party.

BlacklabelToday  08:15 am JST

There is no guarantee anything they released is true. For all we know James Comey wrote this, he is super cozy with NY Times.

Go on thinking that if it makes you feel any better. It is, of course, pure hypothesis and no more or less likely to be true than any other scenario.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

We're seeing extreme levels of paranoia here, and that is really dangerous.

Yes, I agree, the level of Trump's paranoia is getting even higher, and his danger is clear and present.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

BlacklabelToday  08:38 am JST

You really expect me to believe there was a piece of paper on his desk to sign about one of Trunp’s signature policies......and some just too it off his desk and it was never spoken of again?

I don't think anyone expects you to believe anything of the sort. Anyone who isn't determined to defend Donald Trump no matter what probably finds it pretty easy to believe.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Once again, he's whining about anonymous sources that aren't himself.

He's the poster boy for being a hypocrite. What can you do? hehe.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

I can understand the skepticism of Trump supporters. This depicts him is something completely different to the thoughtful, knowledgeable, cool-headed and mature person we saw on the campaign trail and in interviews. His tweets are a testament of an organised and deeply moral mind.

Must be fake news.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

Anyone can write any opinion they want.

Right. Just ask "John Barron" or any of the other pseudonyms Trump used back when he was attempting to establish is image. That was all clearly BS, and if there's one thing Trump knows, that's it. But there's also reality, which the adults in the room reflect. And, as a guy in my 50s, I know how reality can hit you like a ton of bricks.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Dump even cheats at golf! It has been verified by celebrities and athletes.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

I can’t prove that they didn’t. But for an “opinion” column to have any integrity you have to know whose opinion it is.

Only to you. The rest of the world hasn't made up that rule.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Dumb! Even as much as I hate that idiotic President, if someone were disloyal, either tell it to his face or resign, don’t whore yourself for a paycheck.

Heh, you guys are hating lying in that bed you made. I love the schadenfreude.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

I thought treason had to be against the country, not 1 man, who is a known liar.

The difference is that you are intelligent discerning individual, and Trump is.. a Trump.

That name is damaged for the ages now. When people are clearly lying, the response will be 'stop trumping, do you think I'm an idiot?' or 'Don't be such a trump - I'm not that stupid', or 'I swear I'm not a trump, what I said was the truth!.

Texas A&M AggieToday  09:56 am JST

Liberals once again hoping that this is the day President Trump is removed from office courtesy of yet another "anonymous source".

Are they? Who actually said that, then? Or did you just make it up?

7 ( +9 / -2 )

"amoral" alone seems inadequate; he's also immoral:

Use amoral to describe something that's done without any thought about whether it's right or wrong.

Use immoral to describe a person, group, or situation that intentionally goes against accepted ideas of what is right, like a government that attacks its own people.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

he is delivering on his promises to the working class with jobs

They problem is stagnant wages, even in a booming economy. Nearly all gains are captured by the top. I personally have a 401k and I get stock options, so the climb has been good for me. But if you are working class on wages your net pay has been dead for decades, and continues. Just ask a Trump supporter how much of a raise he got, then compare it to the tax givaway to corporations and the rich.

If his elitist enemies

Donald Trump was born a rich kid in New York. He is the definition of an elitist, a spoiled one, too. His behavior is more about surrounding himself with YES men than being salt of the earth.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Here's a fact.

I didn't ask for a fact, I asked a question:

Then why is half the country up in arms over Trump? Your comment isn't supported by the facts.

According to you, the people only care about the economy. So are the people who hate Trump all non-Americans? Your statement doesn't seem to hold up. Why don't you try supporting the previous claims you made, rather than dropping new ones that don't hold up either?

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Blacklabel: Yes but but I’m not the on writing news reports claiming she “could have”.

So, to take it from the top....

You believe Trump’s claim of thousands of voters being biased in to New Hampshire, millions of illegal votes in a California, Trump Tower being bugged, Deep State, a DNC hit squad, infiltration at the FBI, and you have doubts about where Obama was born

But this notion of Trump being erratic in the White House and his team sometimes working against him? Well, that’s just too nutty to believe.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

but they don't lie to the extent that Fox does.

Only Trump does. His supporters are simply intellectually dishonest.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

New book to detail Trump's travails on the golf course...

I'm not surprised if he uses a foot wedge and fires caddies.....

I can imagine that some staff are "softening" things but how much can they really accomplish?

6 ( +8 / -2 )

It’s not fake news, it’s a fake administration.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Or was it Roy Munson? Think I just munsoned / trumped myself there

Haha, you silly trump. Stop being so trumpy!

6 ( +8 / -2 )

It's in part a result of what Bannon, Alex Jones etal in the US aided by 'foreign' trolls paid by their government to fan flames over America's long burning fire have wanted.

They've been successful at getting millions of Americans, some wearing 'I'd rather be Russian than Democrat' T shirts, to distrust their neighbors and fellow countrymen and instead trust an ultra-rightist regime that's re-establishing its empire.

Absolutely correct.  I would just add that these far-right conspiracy theorists have been able to convince Trump supporters that somehow the institutions and organizations that protect and defend this nation; the Justice Dept, FBI, Intelligence community, even our military, are corrupt and the enemy.  While Russia is a misunderstood friend who only want to help us.  Putin could not have wished for a better outcome.

Can you imagine what the Left will do if Trump escapes impeachment/conviction and gets re-elected in 2020? They are already acting crazier than Trump- and that’s saying something. Man the chaos is amazing!

As this article and Woodward's book make clear, what is more critical is what will establishment Republicans do if he somehow wins in 2020?  Continue their obstruction and subterfuge in the White House (for the good of the nation, hopefully so).

Ah, you can smell the desperation. Liberals once again hoping that this is the day President Trump is removed from office courtesy of yet another "anonymous source". At least this will give leftist cable "news" channels the opportunity to round up a minimum of 12 "expert" pundits per show for non-stop round table Trump bashing for a minimum of another news cycle. Then it will be on to the next laser beam to chase as this latest "bombshell" explodes in their faces.

Yes, there is a lot of desperation - coming from the Great Orange Fifth Grader, as he realizes all those around him think he's an idiot.  And Cohen spills more secrets, Weiselllberg gives up Trump Foundation mob ties and Oligarch money laundering, and Manafort, Gates, Flynn and Papadapolous get led off in orange jumpsuits.  The noose tightens...

6 ( +8 / -2 )

I have a problem with petty attacks

Wait....you hold both this position and are a supporter of Trump simultaneously??? The guy who prefaces the name of everyone he dislikes with a petty insult (Lying so and so, Crooked so and so, etc etc).

6 ( +8 / -2 )

What certainly has changed is a US president routinely trading in fake news and tabloid trash on social media.

The president coined the phrase 'fake news', or at least made it a thing. It's such a disparaging, malicious and stupid phrase, it makes me sick when I hear it from him or an athlete or whomever. Especially in Trump's case, it isn't fake news, it's just lies. Conway's alternative facts were just another phrase she should have just given credit to Orwell and said 'doublethink', but we know it is making lies facts and facts lies. Facts are facts and lies and lies. The world will hopefully return to that line of thought. If one learns to critical think, lies become quite a bit more obvious. Trump and his supporters refuse the idea of critical thinking, and make up much of their facts, but unlike '1984', his lies and cultish ways will not create a government and country of doublethink, rather, truth will win out, and things like the NYT article and the Woodward book will bear the test of time, as reality of the Trump administration come to light. Trump's wrong ways will not last and create a mind control government.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

remember when news wasn’t printed if it didn’t have sources and actual provable facts? I do.

To be clear, do you think the Watergate report was fake news and that Nixon was innocent? Deep Throat was an anonymous source for decades.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

It's hilarious to witness Trump supporters swapping all his deep state/corruption at the DoJ and FBI conspiracy theories whilst claiming anonymous sources and journalists with impeccable credentials aren't credible.

All that far-fetched stuff is accurate because the compulsive liar Trump or Fox "News" says so. This stuff here that is backed up by numerous outside sources and printed in a respected newspaper is complete rubbish. Conservative "logic" is a sight to behold.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

This about the MSM controlling the narrative.

Bob Woodward and an unnamed Trump aide's opinion piece are not "MSM." Don't confuse the platform and the message.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Anyone can write any opinion they want. That’s why op-Ed’s require names so we can evaluate the statements based on who is speaking them. No name, no point, nothing to evaluate as far as true or not.

The NYT doesn't print the opinions of just anyone. As this article states, they know who the author is and felt they were reliable enough to print. This is where the reputation of the media source comes into play.

6 ( +10 / -4 )

Oh please. This is an AFP article.

Oh please, that is an extremist right wing opinion.

6 ( +10 / -4 )

Yeah, but I agree with you about FOX. But this isn’t about FOX news, is it? This about the MSM controlling the narrative. And why would you assume I watch FOX news? It’s not even available in Japan? Unless you just assumed i watched it and you know what they say about that word.

I never said anything about you watching Fox news. Did you assume I did?

Fox lies. A lot. The president only deals with Fox, and, since he believes all the MSM is fake news, perhaps Donald would love Fox to be his only state network. Yikes! Anyways, I think the NYT article is true from a likely anonymous reliable source and follows other evidence, of which, the most telling are in many ways, Trump's tweets and behavior. The man is unhinged.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Well, maybe you're right. I hear there is a new version of the article that goes like this;

Old version: "We believe our first duty is to this country, and the President, continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic."

New version: "We believe our first duty is to this country, and MY DAD, the president, continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic."

Ok and? That’s an opinionated Anonymous source, so because it’s coming from the New York Times come up with a history of lying and retraction we are supposed to just believe them boldfaced? Well, you go right ahead. I understand, liberals are low-carb and will jump at any occasion to get a little morsel of food to satiate their appetite, they have nothing else better to do than just swim around in circles. Lol

It always amazes me that Trump supporters just don't get satire - goes right over their head. It kind of shows an almost blind devotion that they take seriously anything that's written about their Dear Leader and feel a need to respond. I always get quite a laugh about it.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Liberals are working in The White House?

Liberal deep state dude. They've infiltrated the white house, pretending to be potted plants in the corners, secretly recording everything. They're even running a pizza parlor out of the basement.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

You don’t get Trump’s trolling or satire either. ROFL!

Trump is not sophisticated enough to get satire. He no more gets it than you are rolling on the floor laughing.

it seems this individual is too cowardly to come forward, but is eager to take a paycheck, loser. Most liberals don’t have a backbone

He or she is probably a Republican, but feels duty-bound to stay in the administration to keep an eye on Trump and limit his actions. After all, you can't be part of the Resistance if you reveal yourself.

Once Trump leaves the White House in the next couple of years, we will find out who wrote it.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

I have a problem with petty attacks

Every President needs good staff

And vice versa.

No sane person would, because it's not treasonous. Unlike colluding with say, a foreign enemy.

Message to Democrats, elitists, media and the deep state....

If you wanna win the next election quit the petty and spiteful attacks on the man who is improving the lives of the working class.

Is it actually him who's improving the lives of the working class, though? How do you know it's not this "resistance" movement ignoring what Trump wants and doing what they think is best?

5 ( +7 / -2 )

CNN expects me to believe Melania or a Ivanka Trump couid have written it.

What makes you think CNN cares whatsoever about you? You are obviously not their target market. And I seriously doubt they even have any clue who you are whatsoever.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Swampboy, my class discussed classic dementia symptoms this morning and agreed that Trump displays many of them. An advantage of the 25th Amendment is it allows him to leave office with no conviction, unlike impeachment. I for one would have no problem simply letting this old man go back to his golf courses and NYC residence - it's not his fault Americans were stupid enough to elect him. But the longer he stays in office, the greater his legal peril grows.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

remember when news wasn’t printed if it didn’t have sources and actual provable facts? I do.

How the heck does a conservative whom, I assume watches and gets information from the most narrative laden of networks, lies from Fox News, actually write something like this?

BlacklabelToday  12:04 pm JST

But the liberals and their “resistance” won’t demand that level of accountability would just rather believe anonymous nonsense.

Called it. Even though this op-ed writer is a republican through and through, Trump's propaganda corps are trying to pin them on liberals.

Personally, my liberal feeds are mostly people utterly unimpressed with this person. Whoever they are, liberals I listen to think this person is a coward for not confronting Trump directly. It's the GOP who wants this shameful farce to continue.

Vote blue in November to put a stop to this nonsense.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

There's speculation based on the use of the word "lodestar" that the anonymous official is VP Pence. The plot thickens...

Wouldn't that be ironic if Pence was the adult in the room!

5 ( +8 / -3 )

If this were real seems the expectation would be that the person resign then come forward publicly with the proof to save our nation.

I agree, they should...they should march right over to Robert Mueller's office and raise their hand...

But the liberals and their “resistance” won’t demand that level of accountability would just rather believe anonymous nonsense.

I assume by "resistance" you mean all the hand-chosen Republican officials in the White House, like the author of this article and all the sources cited in Woodward's book?

I'll hazard a guess and say this was written by Melania - poor woman has had to endure hearing about Stormy Daniels and Playboy Bunnies for almost two years now...

5 ( +7 / -2 )

@blacklabel But the liberals and their “resistance” won’t demand that level of accountability would just rather believe anonymous nonsense....You never cease to amaze..you've got a blabbing idiot in the white house that tweets untruths with zero evidence on a daily basis and you write that....dude really..something tells me all the lights are not on...

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Ha! We’re you born yesterday? I remember the build up.

I remember it too. It was soon after the biggest terrorist attack on US soil, and a lot of people weren't thinking too rationally.

Why are you making excuses for a multi billion dollar industry that’s supposed to be the 5th state?

I'm not. They made a major mistake and overreacted based on false information from the WH.

Thats unless you have ulterior motives and want to direct responsibility away from the MSM.

I'm aware of the corporate bias in the MSM, but their stories are still sourced and they do have some semblance of honest reputations to uphold. I have faith in their desire for profit, and it's that desire that keeps them from telling outright lies. I think disregarding everything from the MSM is as simple-minded as believing everything.

On the other hand, internet trolls (i.e., the real fake news) aren't sourced and can be wrong on a massive scale like with Pizzagate, birtherism, Sandy Hook conspiracies, etc. and still maintain their captivated audience.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Ah, you can smell the desperation. Liberals once again hoping that this is the day President Trump is removed from office courtesy of yet another "anonymous source"

No, what we can smell is a (White) house burning down.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

He who buys the advertising controls the narrative, just as he who pays the piper calls the tune. Thus has it always been. Large corporations, the media included, are not noted for their liberal bias, despite what "Deep State" theory may claim. They are about making money, and they respond to their customers' behaviour to remain viable. If there is a "liberal" bias in the media, it may be that's because it's what the customer wants - and according to capitalist theory, capital seeks to grow and multiply, so the customer must be satisfied ...

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Anyone can write any opinion they want. That’s why op-Ed’s require names so we can evaluate the statements based on who is speaking them. No name, no point, nothing to evaluate as far as true or not.

Go ahead and believe that, but the rest of us aren’t going you buy into that silly logic. We can see through your attempts to detract from the message by trying to call into question the author.

If the author was making outrageous claims that no one else had even alluded to, then the content would be questionable. But now we just have one more voice confirming that Trump is unfit for president, and that he’s made the White House a mess.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

I'll hazard a guess and say this was written by Melania - poor woman has had to endure hearing about Stormy Daniels and Playboy Bunnies for almost two years now...

Aaaahh...liberal fantasies the stuff made of legends. Lol

Well, maybe you're right. I hear there is a new version of the article that goes like this;

Old version: "We believe our first duty is to this country, and the President, continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic."

New version: "We believe our first duty is to this country, and MY DAD, the president, continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic."

Sounds reasonable to me, and it hasn't been disproved....

5 ( +7 / -2 )

It seems likely that it’s Pence, who would be worse than demented Trump because he is smart, religious, and evil. Even conservative Indiana got rid of him. It also fits because if Trump goes, Pence becomes President.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

I thought treason had to be against the country, not 1 man, who is a known liar.

Actually, the only thing that migt be worse than this government is a shadow government that is likewise unaccountable. During the past 4 decades, democratic institutions and the rule of law in the US have been systematically dismantled as the result of the takeover of power by an American oligarchy (both in industry and government). This process can be thought of a "creeping fascism," as the legal, societal, and technological infrastructure for an eventual fascist state was put in place during this time. Trump's ascension to power represents the US becoming a de-facto fascist state. Who does this situation benefit? Trump, the oligarchs, and their elected enablers. It should be clear by now that he is unlikely to be impeached or prosecuted. Given that reality, and the depth of the depravity of his administration, convincing people that he may be insane may ultimately serve as a shield for future unconscionable actions, or let him off the hook for his crimes. Better to see his term in office as part of a larger pattern that poses an existential threat to US democracy and, by extension, democracy in less stable countries, learn from it, write laws that adjust the electoral balance to address the urban/rural disparity, clearly specify the qualifying ctiteria and obligations that must bemet by future US presidential candidates, and severely restrict the power of future US presidents to use the powers of their office for personal gain or abuse of the national trust.

All True Farmboy.

It is also True that Trump has claimed to have "a FANTASTIC RELATIONSHIP" with Kim Jong-un, the despotic Dear Leader of a country with which America and South Korea are still technically at WAR, and who has threatened America with Nuclear Annihilation, on more than one occasion.

Above, it was me who suggested you can't prove it wasn't Ivanka or Sanders or Conway, because you said no one could prove it wasn't you. You can't prove it wasn't Melania, either, so quit crying.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

remember when news wasn’t printed if it didn’t have sources and actual provable facts? I do.

I don’t remember this wonderful time when the print media was so upstanding. When did it start going downhill? Which papers? Trump cites the National Enquirer and I remember it printing idiotic but sometimes quite funny trash when I lived in the US 20 years ago. I must admit to laughing when it recently ran a story about a man who can only defecate through his mouth. I thought it was a clever swipe at Trump’s speech-making but perhaps I’m reading too much into it.

I get the sense the ‘quality’ press had to oppose Trump to remain credible. As a man, I can’t see a good faith defence of him. I’m not convinced by this story, but given his revolting conduct, it is plausible. It is certainly more plausible than the idea that he is heading a well-oiled machine with the respect of those around him. I’d say ‘amoral’ is a fitting description.

What certainly has changed is a US president routinely trading in fake news and tabloid trash on social media.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

I agree that 'half the country' opposes Trump. But the opposition was not nearly enough to prevent him winning. This is because he won over enough swing voters with his economic policies.

But you said the electorate cares about is the jobs and the economy:

what the electorate cares about is jobs and the economy

So you are now admitting you were incorrect in your original comment?

Womp womp.... womp. Hehehehe...

Lincolnman,

I'll hazard a guess and say this was written by Melania - poor woman has had to endure hearing about Stormy Daniels and Playboy Bunnies for almost two years now...

I doubt it she's clearly a prisoner. Gallant as I try to be with the fairer sex she's a gold digger so sympathy is in short supply.

It's got to be someone high up. Maybe Pence wants a shot at the title.

It's definitely time to invoke the 25th amendment....

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Ha! We’re you born yesterday? I remember the build up. It was obvious to anyone with a brain. And the media Yogoslavia war too. Why are you making excuses for a multi billion dollar industry that’s supposed to be the 5th state? Thats unless you have ulterior motives and want to direct responsibility away from the MSM.

The media does make mistakes, and in the case of the Iraq War, there was misinformation from people like Judith Miller at the NYT, and multiple reports all over the place, including the Washington Post, mentioning in an editorial board that it was irrefutable Iraq had weapons of mass destruction after Secretary of State Colin Powell adamantly said there was. To say the Bush administration and more specifically, Cheney, did not tell a narrative and told the truth to the media, who just faked news the Iraq war to promote it, is just not true. Judith Miller used sources within the Bush administration for her information and her position was solidified by the support of Rumsfeld and Powell. She was wrong, because she received wrong information, not because she was purposely lying, which fake news implies. If the MSM doesn't take responsibility enough for mistaken news, that is wrong, but it is different than the idea of fake news and lies. The Iraq War misinformation has nothing to do with the promotion of fake news or the origin of it. It's a false dichotomy to equate fake news with the wrong reporting on the Iraq War because the intent was different.

I'm not buying it. The modern GOP's first duty is ensuring the wealth and power of the country remains in their hands and in the hands of their constituents, mainly America's elite class...

True, but they're hardly going to admit to that.

...with support from many in a demographic made up of America's angry, alienated and aging.

That's where it all seems to have gone a bit wrong for them. Systematic gerrymandering has created these key congressional districts filled with the very same angry, alienated people and they like Trump so the GOP can't do a lot about him for fear of losing their seats. It must have all seemed like a good idea when they were expecting Jeb Bush to sweep the primaries.

would you be reacting so happily if an anonymous opinion piece said Trump is the best leader in the history of the entire world?

If not only an opinion piece, but books by legit authors and journalists, such as Woodward, were to write multiple pieces that Trump is the best leader in history of the entire world, you bet, I'd listen. Believe me, I am not bigoted about opinion that makes sense, but Trump makes no to very little sense. Actually, a huge part of my argument on the Woodward book article, yesterday, is that there hasn't been a counter viewpoint of books, supporting exactly what you write, that Trump is a coherent, intelligent and hinged leader everyone on his staff respects and follows diligently.

Clearly another fake news hit piece, but does it matter?

On issues that matter, i.e. earning a paycheck, President Trump is winning.

Really got the hang of all this Trump-speak, haven't you. How do you know he's the one who's "winning", when it's been alleged that the administration's successes have been in spite of him rather than because of him? Are you just dismissing that possibility out of hand as "fake news?"

3 ( +7 / -4 )

I hope this senior official within the administration remains anonymous. Many on the right and a good many on left think he or she should step forward for different reasons. Hell no! Let Trump sweat it out and it's good to have a fly on wall so we all know what in the hell this orange clown in the White House is up to.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Trump doesn't read anything so it would be easy to substitute a document proclaiming the US withdrawal from NAFTA with an application to join the Mickey Mouse club and Trump would just sign it and be none the wiser.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

@fizzbi Maybe this is a banker diversion tactic because we all know there are wars going on all over the world. So let’s keep the focus on Trump eh?

Excellent point. Trump's leading the world's largest military as it continues fighting the US's never ending wars throughout the world. These wars are benefitting the global oil and gas sheikhs, czars and titans, their financial backers and the big war industries, all of whom support Trump. Look at how he's helping them financially. Tax breaks, subsidies. He's the global power's go-to guy, the man the global elite want serving their needs.

It could be Trump, a master manipulator of media, is himself responsible for drawing attention to the WH messes, his dealings with porn stars and prostitutes, and other stories as a way to distract from the wars. s/

But that's what the US gets when it elects a reality TV star and shady businessman.

Not really surprising since, recent Medical Research has established that there may be a real causal link between the consumption of diet soft drinks, such as Diet Coke, and the onset of Dementia, plus an increased risk of Stroke.

No; more Machiavellian. Obviously I have no more clue as to the author than you, but motives are interesting.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

It's got to be someone high up. Maybe Pence wants a shot at the title.

This could be true. As the writing is on the wall that the midterms will be lost, they may be trying to wrest WH control, and hope Trump pouts and takes his gold football home to Trump tower, or gets kicked out of office. Could be, this is exactly what Pence wants. At this point, Trump being a lame duck president and not getting re-elected is what many of us want, and why there's no way the democrats would think to impeach him. The flip side is the Republicans and the White House administration may just want to undermine Trump, to get him out as they know he's a terrible president and except for his dumb cult, most Republicans likely believe if he stays as a lame duck president, and continues his silly tweets, there will be damage to any chance for the 2020 election.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

You can point your fingers at Bush all you want but there is no doubt CNN had a hand in the propaganda.

Oh, it was mostly on the Bush Administration, don't even try fooling anyone, especially yourself. It doesn't mean I don't think CNN had a major hand in news problems of today, because I believe their 24 hour news, and wanting revenue and specifically dialing in popularity of articles to readers over what should have been prioritized news, sensationalized and made lazy journalism a thing, to which a place like Fox took advantage of, knowing an audience would watch what it wanted, not, what it needed to hear. I blame a lot of problems on CNN, but they don't lie to the extent that Fox does.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

black label: "Fortunately rhe article is more than likely fake."

Even if it is, which I doubt, it is serving to actually make itself reality through Trump's extreme paranoia and insecurity. He now suspects EVERYONE, and will push everyone to a point where some of the few remaining loyalists will stop being so, and the will in effect be part of the "resistance". But if you want to see the very real dictator in action, look at Trump's DEMANDs to have the author turned over. And this after only yesterday saying Sessions should have held of charges against two Republicans going into elections. A banana republic indeed.

When you're president, it's more dignified never to ask for things you can't get.

the Times must, for National Security purposes, turn him/her over to government at once!

A few points. No, the Times need not. If national security is at stake, that is the government's job, not the "failing Times," as Trump dubs them. And "turn over" contains the nuance of custody; one would doubt that would be the case here - perhaps he means inform. At any rate, the call is coming from within the house.

There's clearly no love lost between Trump's hometown newspaper and him. Making an enemy of the press (as opposed to tabloids, which can be and Trump has bought) is always a bad idea. Trump was warned. He ignored the warnings. The whirlwind he will reap is just beginning.

@burningb We're seeing extreme levels of paranoia here, and that is really dangerous.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

The president coined the phrase 'fake news', or at least made it a thing.

Before Trump took control of the phrase, "fake news" in its recent usage started in reference to click-bait articles that contained misinformation posted by Eastern European trolls looking to make money. These articles mainly focused on fake stories that conservatives (including then candidate Trump) would eat up and share on social media, presumably because they were more successful in getting conservatives to share fake stories and thus make more money.

[Is it actually him who's improving the lives of the working class, though? How do you know it's not this "resistance" movement ignoring what Trump wants and doing what they think is best?]

Can you explain how 'the resistance' could possibly be responsible for recent economic growth, unemployment levels down, etc? What exactly did 'the resistance' practically do to achieve this?

Obviously they think they're doing something:

"The dilemma -- which he does not fully grasp -- is that many of the senior officials in his own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations," the official wrote. "I would know. I am one of them."

The official described a "two-track" presidency in which Trump says one thing and his staff consciously does another, for example with regard to what he called Trump's "preference for autocrats and dictators."

Make what you will of that, the author is a bit vague on the details.

With all due respect, it seems to not make sense to give any credit to the resistance for the success of Trump's own policies and initiatives when thier aim has been to frustrate him and impede his agenda.

No? It would appear that Trump does not have a very strong grasp of his own policies if senior officials take letters from his desk and he doesn't even notice. Also if the economy has been doing well and these people have been successful at derailing the president's agenda, what conclusions are to be drawn?

This is how this rubbish goes: An unknown nameless person worked with another anonymous person, who operated as an anonymous go-between, between the media and the second anonymous person. Basically, there is no deriving authoritative figure; it is all fabulized.

Of course it's not a coincidence, and the only thing that's unusual is that there's a complete and utter moron in the White House. It makes perfect sense that various groups and individuals of all colors are doing everything they can to point that out at the same time. When else are they going to do it? They don't have to be "colluding" for this to make sense. In fact, it takes a bigger leap of logic to think that all these groups with disparate interests are coordinating this.

Strangerland:

[Then why is half the country up in arms over Trump? Your comment isn't supported by the facts.]

Here's a fact. Most US elections are won by the candidate who can convince swing voters to vote for them. Swing voters are usually more interested in the economy than left/right social issues (women's, minority's and LGBTQ rights, abortion, etc) that largely define the core voters of either side.

At the last election Trump convinced enough working class swing voters to switch from Obama/Clinton to vote for him and thus won.

That, I beleive, is a fact.

Clinton and the Democrats focused almost solely on identity politics and attacking Trump personally and to this day I still don't know what economic plan they had. Whereas Trump focused on the economy. Many Democrat friendly media analysts conceded after the election that this was the main reason they lost. And yet they still keep it up.

I believe that in order to win back those swing voters Democrats need to reevaluate thier priorities and set aside identity politics and personal attacks on Trump and put forth positive economic proposals that will convince the working class swing voters that they care about them.

I'm not American and don't live there but this is what I see.

This is a very familiar "republicon establishment" viewpoint judging from emphasis of the frame, pattern and tonality. The "resistance" denunciation imposed within the article is focalized around the perspective of the professional political prestige status as well as their sense of noteworthiness. If NRO's Jonah Goldberg served for the administration, this guy would be the number one suspect - that is the radiating sense of elitism and superiority conveyed.

The opinions disclosed inside the "anonymous" op-ed exhibit the quintessential worldview of elitist republicons. That's to assert, a "holier than thou neocon GOPe establishment kind" who favors mayo and cucumber sandwiches with no crust on white bread sliced into tiny triangles. Their elitist cocky view sees POTUS as a deplorable, vulgarian outsider who needs to be controlled by others who are much more significant.

In mixture with the ample praises for the late McCain, from the composition of the trade stance espoused inside the writing we can see the focal point of this "republicon resistance" is rooted on POTUS unorthodox trade/economic protocols as well as withdrawal from foreign interventionism. Trump's policies do not align with the globalist traditional vision and representation of Wall Street, pontificating financial club, and last but not the least is the COC's (US Chamber of Commerce) Tom Donahue.

One thing people have to keep in mind is there are two sides for each party. Democrats have decent human beings on their side also but are rare and usually under the radar. Republicons also consists of two sides. One side is the sinister establishment consisting of the RINOs (Republican In Name Only) who are likely to sell out their citizens and hold onto their power as long as they possibly can.

Similarly with the snaky, money grubbing, greedy UNIPARTY consisting mostly of GOPes but also several Dems who are bought off by the Chamber of Commerce (Tom Donahue), K Street, Unions (Richard Trumka), Wall Street, financial elite club and the various big, greedy multinational corporations. But of course you cannot forget there also decent human beings on the Repubs side who are real patriots and will not sell themselves out or their citizens. Unfortunately this kind is very rare to find in the DC swamp.

Strangerland:

Then why is half the country up in arms over Trump?

I don't wish to argue with you, but rather respectfully answer your question.

I agree that 'half the country' opposes Trump. But the opposition was not nearly enough to prevent him winning. This is because he won over enough swing voters with his economic policies.

As I said, many Democrat friendly media analysts conceded this post election.

This is my point. I believe it to be true.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

Strangerland:

Point taken. I should have written more clearly. I'll clarify my point here.

I believe that Trump won the election by focusing on the economy, thus convincing enough working class swing voters to vote for him. This point was conceded by several pro Democrat media analysts in the aftermath of the election.

Unless Democrats stop focusing on identity politics and personal attacks on him and prove to these swing voters that they care about them, I don't believe they will win over those swing voters.

What do you think of this assessment?

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

He is a reasonably good troll.

Where is the satire? Are you saying his whole act is a cutting satire on the stupidity of certain elements of the right and idiots who follow trash conspiracy theories?

No, I was interested in the satirical quagmire the left always seem to get caught up in, so, so very sad.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

We're seeing extreme levels of paranoia here, and that is really dangerous.

Simon Foston:

[Is it actually him who's improving the lives of the working class, though? How do you know it's not this "resistance" movement ignoring what Trump wants and doing what they think is best?]

Can you explain how 'the resistance' could possibly be responsible for recent economic growth, unemployment levels down, etc? What exactly did 'the resistance' practically do to achieve this?

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

It's getting ugly, and everybody is taking sides.

Headline: Anonymous official says Trump staff working against 'amoral' president - New York Times

Clearly another fake news hit piece, but does it matter?

On issues that matter, i.e. earning a paycheck, President Trump is winning. Brett Kavanaugh will be the next Supreme Court Associate Justice. Blacks and Hispanics for the Trump agenda are increasing poll after poll. The US/Mexico revised NAFTA has been agreed upon in broad terms. Democrats now have to deal with the rise of socialists, a euphemism for communists I should add, abhorrent to the majority of Americans.

Midterms are just around the corner.

I wonder how many more motivational pieces the once venerable Gray Lady, now an indisputably biased rag, and its ilk in the fake news sector will print or broadcast to turn out the vote.

Keep up the good work guys!

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

Well, maybe you're right. I hear there is a new version of the article that goes like this;

Old version: "We believe our first duty is to this country, and the President, continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic."

Lol

Sounds reasonable to me, and it hasn't been disproved.

Nor proven.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

I see it like this, if the person doesn’t like the President or his/her job, quit. I don’t have a problem with a person not liking the President, I have a problem with petty attacks, if I don’t like a person or if I’m working with a person I don’t like, I leave or I tell them how I feel, but I’m not sneaky staff official that will talk behind a persons back and then pretend to like the person and smile in their face, I was raised better than that. I’m always straightforward, I don’t find this person treasonous (seems like everyone is tossing it around like free tissues) but I do find the person disloyal. Every President needs good staff, this goes for Republican or Democrat you shouldn’t be disloyal and if you are, don’t be greedy and work just to collect a paycheck, have some dignity and leave. Don’t think that’s too much to ask for.

-7 ( +5 / -12 )

CNN expects me to believe Melania or a Ivanka Trump couid have written it.

cant beat the man,.so just attack everyone around him, hoping they get tired of all the attacks and desert him. Won’t work and it’s just wasting all our time with petty nonsense.

Simon Foston:

With all due respect, it seems to not make sense to give any credit to the resistance for the success of Trump's own policies and initiatives when thier aim has been to frustrate him and impede his agenda.

@Northern

"@serrano geez bud thanks for the fox and friend links once again you've outdone yourself...."

Geez bud, it wasn't Fox & Friends it was Laura Ingraham - get it straight. And why don't you outdo yourself and watch it and learn something?

@lincoln Thanks for the link, that was funny! It's just one of a whole lotta old funny Trump videos!

Maybe this is a banker diversion tactic because we all know there are wars going on all over the world. So let’s keep the focus on Trump eh?

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

Trump's ascension to power represents the US becoming a de-facto fascist state.

LOL just too funny. So all of those rich jerks who gave money to Hillary is just some deep state facist control job?

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

I'm aware of the corporate bias in the MSM, but their stories are still sourced and they do have some semblance of honest reputations to uphold.

Oh, please! Omarosa said her stories were sourced as well as Michael Wolf’s...so where are these people now? Having the source does not mean it’s a reliable source, we get this all the time from liberals when the conservative cite a source liberals downplay it, when liberals cite a source, it’s good as gold.

I have faith in their desire for profit, and it's that desire that keeps them from telling outright lies.

I can give you a litany of a list of people that light who claim to have had solid sources, Oliver Stone is one of them in that list is very long....

I think disregarding everything from the MSM is as simple-minded as believing everything.

Judging by the ratings of the most in SM I probably wouldn’t trust anything that comes out of bleeding microphone or pen. Again this is why I think New York Times is bleeding, CNN and MSNBC are trying so hard in the ratings, clicks help.

On the other hand, internet trolls (i.e., the real fake news) aren't sourced and can be wrong on a massive scale like with Pizzagate, birtherism, Sandy Hook conspiracies, etc. and still maintain their captivated audience.

This is very true.

-8 ( +4 / -12 )

It always amazes me that Trump supporters just don't get satire -

You don’t get Trump’s trolling or satire either. ROFL!

No? It would appear that Trump does not have a very strong grasp of his own policies if senior officials take letters from his desk and he doesn't even notice.

Allegedly, but again, not proven, so....

Also if the economy has been doing well and these people have been successful at derailing the president's agenda, what conclusions are to be drawn?

It’s very strange, first of all I usually don’t put that much stock into any one that is anonymous to begin with, I take it with a grain of salt, second, it seems this individual is too cowardly to come forward, but is eager to take a paycheck, loser. Most liberals don’t have a backbone, but at least someone like Sally Yates was direct enough to tell the president “No” when he first came out with his first travel ban, I can respect that, yeah, she got the ax, but she at least made her feelings known

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

Oh my...

The once revered New York Times has now become nothing more than a rumor mill when it comes to reporting on the Trump administration.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJTPxgLq8gk

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

Trump's enemies still don't get it. All they do is personally attack him (and there is plenty to focus on). But they don't seem to understand that what the electorate cares about is jobs and the economy, things Trump talks about and delivers. No wonder the electorate concluded that his enemies don't care about thier welfare.

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

Anyone can write any opinion they want. That’s why op-Ed’s require names so we can evaluate the statements based on who is speaking them. No name, no point, nothing to evaluate as far as true or not.

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

I can’t prove that they didn’t. But for an “opinion” column to have any integrity you have to know whose opinion it is. Would be yuuuuge if it were one of those women, then I would surely believe the article contents.

would you be reacting so happily if an anonymous opinion piece said Trump is the best leader in the history of the entire world? No, you would dismiss it as being written by someone with bias and move on. Same thing here.

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

Can you imagine what the Left will do if Trump escapes impeachment/conviction and gets re-elected in 2020? They are already acting crazier than Trump- and that’s saying something. Man the chaos is amazing!

-10 ( +5 / -15 )

Notice this hit piece was published just before CIA asset and Swamp icon Bob Woodward's piece of fiction masquerading as a book is about to be released.

Timing is everything.

-10 ( +4 / -14 )

Yes but I’m not the on writing news reports claiming she “could have”.

remember when news wasn’t printed if it didn’t have sources and actual provable facts? I do.

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

If this were real seems the expectation would be that the person resign then come forward publicly with the proof to save our nation.

But the liberals and their “resistance” won’t demand that level of accountability would just rather believe anonymous nonsense.

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

Everyone? Well, Trump certainly is.

Yes, to give to the Democrats to stop whining. Corner time.

I assume by "resistance" you mean all the hand-chosen Republican officials in the White House, like the author of this article and all the sources cited in Woodward's book?

Seriously, no one knows if it is a man or if it’s a woman, that is why the person is anonymous.

I'll hazard a guess and say this was written by Melania - poor woman has had to endure hearing about Stormy Daniels and Playboy Bunnies for almost two years now...

Aaaahh...liberal fantasies the stuff made of legends. Lol

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

I blame a lot of problems on CNN, but they don't lie to the extent that Fox does.

Yeah, but I agree with you about FOX. But this isn’t about FOX news, is it? This about the MSM controlling the narrative. And why would you assume I watch FOX news? It’s not even available in Japan? Unless you just assumed i watched it and you know what they say about that word.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

Bob Woodward and an unnamed Trump aide's opinion piece are not "MSM." Don't confuse the platform and the message.

Oh please. This is an AFP article.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

You really expect me to believe there was a piece of paper on his desk to sign about one of Trunp’s signature policies......and some just too it off his desk and it was never spoken of again?

Yes, it is just as likely that James Comey wrote this as It is that Omarosa wrote this as it is that a Russian troll wrote it. We don’t know because they are not only hiding who wrote it but probably changing all the details.

Hell, I wrote it. Prove I didn’t.

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

Ah, you can smell the desperation. Liberals once again hoping that this is the day President Trump is removed from office courtesy of yet another "anonymous source". At least this will give leftist cable "news" channels the opportunity to round up a minimum of 12 "expert" pundits per show for non-stop round table Trump bashing for a minimum of another news cycle. Then it will be on to the next laser beam to chase as this latest "bombshell" explodes in their faces.

-11 ( +4 / -15 )

It seems that the working class thought that Trump, with all his faults, was still a better choice than Clinton. Why? Because he spoke to thier daily concerns and she represented the elite and certain identity groups only.

As much as I dislike his methods, he is delivering on his promises to the working class with jobs and a booming economy.

If his elitist enemies don't learn thier lessons and keep up thier deranged attacks on him like in this article, the working class will again thumb thier noses at them and give them another collective middle finger next election.

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

Message to Democrats, elitists, media and the deep state....

If you wanna win the next election quit the petty and spiteful attacks on the man who is improving the lives of the working class.

Propose an alternative economic plan that will win the hearts of the working class and show that you care about them.

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

Before Trump took control of the phrase, "fake news" in its recent usage started in reference to click-bait articles that contained misinformation posted by Eastern European trolls

Oh really? Was it Eastern European trolls who sold the Iraq war? Is it Eastern European trolls who don’t dare to talk about war? Fake news goes back decades. Hillary’s handlers made the mistake, one of many, to try using it as a campaign slogan.

-12 ( +2 / -14 )

I have faith in their desire for profit, and it's that desire that keeps them from telling outright lies. *

Well your faith is misplaced.

Then you do remember the CNN headline and constant coverage of the baby incubator story, which was one of the main reasons for the war which proved to be fake. You can point your fingers at Bush all you want but there is no doubt CNN had a hand in the propaganda.

-12 ( +2 / -14 )

Sure it is. After eight years of you guys being obstructionist during the Obama administration, it's weird you would think the democrats wouldn't do the same back.

Dumb! Even as much as I hate that idiotic President, if someone were disloyal, either tell it to his face or resign, don’t whore yourself for a paycheck.

-13 ( +2 / -15 )

I’ve seen it all now. An anonymous opinion piece with all the details oh who it is either hidden or likely totally altered. The tweet they sent says “he” meaning it’s probably “she”.

Omarosa is conveniently calling herself a “senior administration official” and referred us to page 330 of her book for clues.

There is no guarantee anything they released is true. For all we know James Comey wrote this, he is super cozy with NY Times.

-17 ( +4 / -21 )

So there is the treason you liberals have been looking for.

Fortunately rhe article is more than likely fake.
