OK, well, your statement is below - those that understand it vote down on this post - if this statement is nonsense to you, vote up.

What you're seeing is standard from Bass. Someone makes a point he can't argue with, so he replies with gibberish to throw you off.

What I've never figured out is if he really is as much a moron as he comes off as being, or whether it's just an act.

And we see more of what a disgusting swamp creature Manafort is. First tax fraud, and next conspiracy to defraud the United States, failing to register as a foreign agent, money laundering, witness tampering and making false statements. Between these two trials, he'll be wearing an orange jump suit for quite some time. Remember, he is "one of the best..."

Now we need to get the other "Orange One" in his orange jump suit also.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

But President Donald Trump has expressed a keen interest in Manafort's fate as he seeks to publicly undermine Mueller's probe.

Trump and his factotums in DC must know Mueller's got links showing how the TrumpKushner syndicate's been laundering money these past couple of decades for 'foreign' gangsters, their co-workers in their nation's intelligence agencies, and their boss, the kleptocrat-in-chief.

The only good I can see coming from Trump's election has been exposing - for all but Trump's true believers - how nasty predatory capitalists in the US and abroad are.

No wonder Trump wants to eliminate a free, for-profit media reporting his crimes, while he's also trying to constrain US intelligence agencies whose duties include protecting the US public from crime syndicates, whether they be in the US or abroad.

So that’s the lefts answer? Seriously? The left still can’t comprehend that this President won. Lol

You do know you're really helping build that stereotype with a rambling answer that has absolutely nothing to do with the statement you're replying to. I said your posts contain a whole bunch of errors and are difficult to understand. And remember your post the other day about "you don't define me"....you may want to read it again.

And you know this for a fact because the liberal crystal ball deems it so?

So I assume you were somewhere in the room when Putin and Trump had their secret meeting? To borrow your phrase, it hasn't been disproved....

Whatever, Trump/Pence 2020!!

Yes, Trump 20/Pence 10 (years in Leavenworth). Don McGan just flipped on the President...

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Trump faces a quandary in the Manafort pardon case. He's neck-deep in obstructionism and sinking by the day. It is within his power to pardon Manafort, but that would bring serious jeopardy to him.

If I were Manafort, I'd be thinking about cutting a deal. Sure, the Russian mafia will be after him, but Trump has zero history of risking his hide for any other. Once he loses this case, whether he folds or doubles down with the next will be interesting to see.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Ok and? Once he’s pardoned that’s it.

Yep - he'll be known for life as the guy who was guilty, but got let off of his crimes against America by the president. It will show everyone that the president doesn't care about the law of the land, he only cares about making sure the 1% can do whatever they want without fear of reprisal.

Doesn't bode well for re-election.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

I actually didn’t think so, in fact, quite the opposite.

OK, well, your statement is below - those that understand it vote down on this post - if this statement is nonsense to you, vote up.

Maybe, or may hecwont or maybe not as long as the left want him to. Too bad, they don’t go after the left in the same way, so many, but bias is the driving force thing these days.

I really think the left just have some aversion to people having a difference of opinion, nice try though.

You call me a lefty above and in this post below, and in a separate post tell me not to define you - suggestion - go look up hypocrite in a dictionary and read it.

It hasn’t been proven either. You have no idea was was said or what was "not" said, you’re just speculating like everyone else.

Hey, I’m just using your words - in a previous post you you made the ludicrous assertion that President Obama colluded with Putin to allow him to invade Ukraine - in your words you said "it hasn’t been disproven."  Same here - Trump and Putin want the drama of an impeachment, and for it to go on as long as possible, gridlocking the US and giving Putin a free hand. Sounds logical to me…and it hasn't been disproven....

But that won’t happen. Watch Manafort be pardoned if he gets convicted.

You’re probably right - The Creature from the Black Cesspool (Trump) protects The Ultimate Swamp Creature (Manafort).  Then they both go back to their slimy swamp.

But more importantly there is a judge who is more sympathetic to the mueller team

No.

Let’s try to stick with reality, mmkay?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

The president is supporting a man who earned illicit income and then knowingly hid it from lawful and just taxation. Why would he do that?

Oh, wait.... I get it.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

But we are going to pretend the judge in the next case isn’t the “democrat” judge? She has ruled against everything manafort has put before her so far. even put him in jail pretrial which is pretty unprecedented.

None of which shows bias.

Once again you're making things up that aren't supported by reality.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

You know how dumb she will look if he is found innocent.

Not at all. She will look like a judge who presided over a case where someone was found innocent. It happens all the time.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

So why does the media want the juror names and addresses and why are the ones that sued to get this all the anti-Trump media outlets?

Because the right-wing MSM wants to 'out' these people, so they can be attacked personally to try to get them to sway the decision towards an innocent verdict.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Maybe, or may hecwont or maybe not as long as the left want him to. Too bad, they don’t go after the left in the same way, so many, but bias is the driving force thing these days.

You know, you keep telling me I shouldn’t stereotype Trump supporters, yet you continually write these incomprehensible posts…

Yeah, well, that won’t happen.

Yeah, well, that was very convincing…

No, because The Senate wouldn’t convict him if he were impeached.

That’s probably true but irrelevant - Trump and Putin’s goal is to cause mayhem and gridlock within the US Govt which is what will happen when Mueller releases his final report showing clear evidence of obstruction, conspiracy and collusion. Yes, the GOP (Guardians of Putin) likely won’t convict - and Putin and Trump can continue to collude on the 2020 election.

Need this so that they can congratulate the jurors at their homes and send them flowers if they find Manafort innocent?

I doubt that, but if they convict, I’d put money their taxes will be audited and better watch out if they have a security clearance…

4 ( +4 / -0 )

wow, look at all those “right wing”media outlets! So why do they need names and addresses again?

Took a bit of digging to find out the details behind this. Am fairly shocked that names and addresses of a jury could ever be revealed under any circumstances. There was not much about the story in the MSM so only could read from the type of source you used - Briebart etc.

It seems that the media have asked for the release of a wide amount of information relating to the case and in it, is included information on the jurors personal data. However it does not seem that that was the main focus of the request, but more a related item.

Anyway, the judge was right in making sure that this part of the information relating to the case is not released.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

So how many criminals will Trump excuse before the people have had enough? How long will people be ok with Trump subverting the law to help his corrupt buddies? And how many will vote for Trump after it's been proven that he filled the swamp with a bunch of people he afterwards had to publicly excuse from punishment for their crimes?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Manafort should be ok in the long run. Pardons are wonderful things.

Except Manafort is not done in court. Next month, he will go on trial in Washington D.C. for suspected conspiracy, bank and tax fraud, money laundering, witness tampering, and failing to register as a lobbyist in his work before 2014 on behalf of Ukraine’s pro-Russian president at the time, Viktor Yanukovych.

However, let's say that Trump decides to pardon him after that trial plus the one going on now in Virginia. It still won't help him should the prosecutors with the Southern District of New York bring charges of money laundering and tax fraud against him in New York State. As I have pointed out to you many, many times before, presidential pardons can only be applied in federal cases--not state cases. Should he be convicted of any crimes in New York, Trump cannot help him. Period.

Finally, please explain to all of us your reasoning as to why Manafort deserves a pardon based on any crimes that he gets convicted on. People don't deserve pardons just because they happen to be associated with a president that you happen to support. If someone breaks the law and are found guilty in a court of law, then that person should face the consequences. No one is above the law.

I'm pretty sure that had Hillary Clinton been convicted of any wrongdoing and Obama had pardoned her, you and the rest of the hard right-wing would have spontaneously combusted.

A person with nothing to hide COOPERATES with an investigation.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Nice.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Trump in orange! So becoming! He'll get along so well with his money-honey lovin' Russophile friend in the pen.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Yeah, well, that won’t happen.

Because he can pardon himself?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

@blackb s article as the media

By using 'media' (dictionary definition: *the main means of mass communication (broadcasting, publishing, and the Internet) regarded *collectively.) do mean to say that ALL outlets are reporting this event the same way? Or are you once again disparaging outlets that don't report things the way you prefer.

Only authoritarian regimes want to restrict a free, for-profit press. And of course the authoritarian's followers sheeple along behind bah-ing MSMMSM.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

If a jury is ok to convict Manafort for doing what Podesta got immunity for.

Whatever whaddaboutism you’ve come up with is irrelevant to the trial, and will not be considered by any jury.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Lincolnman, excellent post.

Now is an excellent time to he a high-price lawyer. The White House counsel - Trumps lawyer - has his own lawyer who has strongly counseled him to cooperate with Mueller to save himself. When your counsel's counsel counsels cooperating with those investigating you - well, that's not a good sign.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Watch Manafort be pardoned if he gets convicted.

And see how the people feel about the 1% being excused from crimes, while the little man has to pay for their crimes. Everyone will know he is guilty, and everyone will know that Trump acted to prevent a guilty man from having to be punished. I wonder how many Trump can pardon without alienating them altogether.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

The jury should have been sequestered, and the judge should have imposed a gag order on 45. It's looking more and more like he wants a mistrial.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Black: oh but liberals can call Judge Ellis the “republican” judge and make threats of violence against him.

You have confirmation that the threat came from a liberal? And I believe you have mentioned Democrats on the bench 100% of the time Trump has lost.

So why does the media want the juror names and addresses

It’s typical in a high profile case. Perhaps someone is taking something routine and making it sound like an outlier to dupe you into speculating that something nefarious is going on. Don’t fall for it.

Need this so that they can congratulate the jurors at their homes and send them flowers if they find Manafort innocent?

I’m going out on a limb and guessing they want the information so they can interview them.

Seens menacing to me.

Reporters contacting jurors in a high profile case seems menacing to you? Remember what I said about being duped.

As well as a statement to potential jurors in the next case to return the “correct” verdict.

So CNN is getting jurors name not to interview them, but to threaten them and to send a message to the next juror to vote a certain way?

You don’t really believe that, do you? I don’t even think bass would go there.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

I don’t mind if Trump pardons Manafort. It will bring another new confirmation of the stain of Trump and his fans on our great country. I want to see a picture of Trump, Manafort, and Trump fans celebrating for the history books.

It will also big a huge blow to to GOP when they sit on the sidelines again. It’s the stuff that tends to stick with a party for a long, long time.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Crazy read:

McGahn, White House Counsel, Has Cooperated Extensively in Mueller Inquiry

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/18/us/politics/don-mcgahn-mueller-investigation.html

He's the lawyer for the Office of the President. He’s not one of Trump’s defense lawyers.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

So this is what draining the swamp looks like.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

The defense has had the judge, but do they have the jury too ?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I guess it looks more like he will be pardoned. Manafort has reason to smile, he just needs to be patient,

I certainly hope Manafort is pardoned. It will show that Trump does not care for the law and is happy to abuse the office of President. What worries me is that anyone should be happy with letting (possibly) guilty criminals off because they have become so convinced by the perfection of Trump that anything he does, even when he openly lies or abuses his power, it is seen as fine.

It is clear evidence of a personality emerging with the central figure having Messiah like traits.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I certainly hope Manafort is pardoned. It will show that Trump does not care for the law and is happy to abuse the office of President.

Yeah, while he can get away with saying whatever he wants basically, I think that only the most zealous of his zealots will support him pardoning more than one or two criminals who have been found guilty by the American justice system. Pardoning convicted criminals won't sit well with anyone who has ever received even a speeding ticket.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Was waiting for this article as the media is really concerned that Mueller lost the first trial.

So they are hedging their bets just in case. “Look over here! We have another trial! Three times as much evidence!”

But more importantly there is a judge who is more sympathetic to the mueller team. At least based on the rulings so far concerning immunity and denial of defense motions.

It will come down once again to if they can actually prove their allegations and if a jury is ok to convict Manafort for doing what Podesta got immunity for.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

oh but liberals can call Judge Ellis the “republican” judge and make threats of violence against him.

You know how dumb she will look if he is found innocent. Luckily they will get him on the not registering FARA charge. Which only 6 people in history have ever been convicted of cause its meaningless. You just retroactively register like Podesta.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

But the right wing media didn’t ask for the names and addresses. Try again.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/opinions/the-extraordinary-bias-of-the-judge-in-the-manafort-trial/2018/08/16/aca48040-a16c-11e8-83d2-70203b8d7b44_story.html

there won’t be an article like this in the WaPo about the judge in the next case, I’m sure.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

If someone breaks the law and are found guilty in a court of law, then that person should face the consequences. No one is above the law.

Great! Then it’s a good thing Strzok was fired and Brennan had his security clearance revoked

I guess it looks more like he will be pardoned. Manafort has reason to smile, he just needs to be patient,

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Yes it will. When Podesta gets cross examined and the jury hears that he didn’t register under FARA either. yet was allowed to register retroactively 3 years later with no penalty or investigation. Now star prosecution witness with immunity to say manafirt didn’t register either? That smells.

Also why is CNN and others suing to get the names and addresses of the current jurors when the trial isn’t over?

Wouldn’t that be tampering and intimidation of a jury ? Because it’s obvious what verdict the media expects to see. So “we know where you live so you better convict?”

what would be a legitimate reason to need their address? Dox them and threaten their families and contact their employers?

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Yep - he'll be known for life as the guy who was guilty

Given his history, I’m sure, he can live with that. He’s got more than enough money to set him up anywhere, so No worries.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

No, because The Senate wouldn’t convict him if he were impeached.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

The motion — filed on behalf of CNN, Washington Post, BuzzFeed, POLITICO, New York Times, NBC Universal, and the Associated Press — asks the court to provide to the media organizations the full names and home addresses of the men and women who were summoned and selected by the federal government to serve as jurors in Manafort’s fraud case.

wow, look at all those “right wing”media outlets! So why do they need names and addresses again?
