Its good that they're healthy, so they can monitor the disappearance of the ice shelves in person.
Penguins, unite! World domination is at your wing tips.
Proof that social distancing DOES work!!! Stay in people!!!!

Well considering the fact that Antarctica is in the middle of nowhere or at least the bottom of nowhere I think Antarctica will be fine.

Free of virus attack... Wonderful !
Let it be, let it be the only virus-free continent on our pathetic globe.
The world must make sure that it is not, and will never to be tainted in any way, under any cause or circumstances...

Since it is largely free of people, well yes. What a question.

The summer population of Antarctica is about 4000 and the winter population is about 1000. The problem for them is the great number of flights and ship visits to the many Antarctic stations during the summer. All of the crews of the many ships and aircraft have to be Covid-19 free. There is the longest risk vector.

I’d tell you a killer COVID-19 joke, but there’s a 99.97% chance you wouldn’t get it.

Point taken. But since that Antarktica population is generally young and healthy, Corona is really a non-issue. Look at the composition of victims. Now if they used the research stations as an old age care home and then put Corona patients in there like in New York, then yes you would have a story.

Maybe New Caledonia? They have zero cases too.

Then explain the outbreaks of Covid-19 in universities and some Georgia school districts. The claim that younger people do not contract Covid-19 is not based on fact. It is a lie being perpetrated for political gain and nothing else.
Btw, the scientists working in Antarctica are not so young as you imagine. Many are grizzled veterans of decades of Antarctic research. The crews of the ships and aircraft that visit the continent are a mixture of ages as well. The skippers and department heads of the visiting ships, especially the big icebreakers, are not young. It takes a couple of decades to reach those ranks. Same for the Squadron CO and department heads of the LC-130 squadron that deploys there each summer. I knew some of those people when I was on active duty. The senior NCOs and senior officers are not young.
