Will, you don't seem to have a clue about the issues at all. Yep, banning burkas meant nothing.

" Certainly a lot of issues with Muslims but they are not the only problem. I do indeed favour getting rid of Muslims who also are an issue but it seems France is really the only country that has the balls to deal with it for the time being. "

I am rubbing my eyes. Sarkozy has deported a few Gypsies, who are a tiny group that is guilty of nothing else but mooching welfare. An incredibly easy target, with no implications for him. That is not dealing with any issue, to the contrary.

" Again, why the comments as if this was only about Muslims. It is NOT! "

Alas, it is. Your reference to poor EU countries is a smokescreen. Immigrants from EU countries do not bring with them a Shariah and radical preachers.

" Will, poorer EU nations ARE a problem. Do you just assume that richer countries have the money to support them? "

That is something that comes with having open borders and a welfare state. However, mooching on welfare is one thing; changing our society into one where Shariah rules supreme is something else entirely.

Where is the boycott of Sweden? They make Arizona look like the acme of civilization.

Will, poorer EU nations ARE a problem. Do you just assume that richer countries have the money to support them? They don't. England is facing HUGE cutbacks and their welfare system is a mess - from the local AND from immigrants. They are not always willing to integrate.

Yes, esp. true in the UK.

As long as the immigrants are blonde blue-eyed vixens, who cares if it's legal!

You're not really following tmarie's comments, don't yah?

White-Europeans, have the natural right of indigebous right to exclude other races from their lands.

I just can't stand colonial whites in the Americas, Australasia and Africa who think those rights extend beyond their lands.

As for comments about the US being so tolerant, give me a break. You aren't nearly as tolerant as some of you would like to believe you are.

Why can't european countries follow the U.S. lead and become more tolerant toward muslims? They need to get with the program and join us here in the 21st century.

I agree with what Sweden is doing - and most counties particularly Canada, the US and the UK really need to wake up and realize the problems they are going to have if the rate of illegals and "refugees" isn't slowed down. The UK and other wealthy EU countries are a mess now with those from poorer EU nation coming in for work and not being able to find it.

And Sweden (along with Denmark, the Netherlands and France) have finally caught the anti-immigrant, anti-multiculturalism zeitgeist. It's probably too early to predict the immediate impact of Sweden Democrats' election at national level-- but I wouldn't be surprise if (like Fortuyn's Party) they become embedded within the establish order and not just in the political margin.

The people from poorer EU nations are not a problem. They might go on welfare, but they are willing to integrate, and they do not bring a Shariah with with them, with terrorism, honor killings, and the rest of it. Jews are fleeing Swedish cities like Malmoe today, because of of antisemitic violence -- and I can assure you it is not Poles and Romanians who commit that.

It really doesn't have to be the "Muslim" issue that everyone seems to make it out to be. It is about allowing countries to pick and chose who they want to allow to live in the country. Fair enough. I wish other countries would stop pussy footing around and deal with the issues.

Let me be the voice of reason here. I mean maybe the Swedes should just finally face up to the fact that not everybody is going to be a huge fan of licorice.

What's happening is that Europe and Sweden were asleep for the last decade or so. When Muslim radicals makes threats toward certain persons that woke up the people. Also, the economy is bad all around so it is hitting hard in people's pockets. Jobs are scarce.

Immigration is different today than 20-years ago when assimilation was the norm into which ever country they live in. Today that is not the case anymore.

The Drudger Report headlines say the election outcome in Sweden threatens the socialist order in Europe. I can almost see President Obama returning his Nobel Peace Prize over these developments.

He mentions cases of public schools that have stopped serving pork

This is wrong.

"how many of these jobs are part-time, token, make-work jobs"

Yeah! Japan should get rid of all foreigners with part-time, token, make-work jobs with anchor babies! Yeah! Keep Japan for the natives... foreigners OUT! Xenophobia rules! Stop child allowances for foreigners!

oh... wait a minute....

You posters above should think about what glass houses are and whether or not you are throwing stones.

Once again, the article obfuscates reality. It is not "immigration" that erodes Swedish society. Immigrants from Denmark, Norway, even Japan for that matter, integrate just fine. It is specifically the islamic immigration which is changing Sweden in very unpleasant ways, just as is happening in other European countries. And just as in other European countries, the media and political elite refuses to see the problem.

Moderator: Please tone down your anti-Islamic rhetoric on all threads.

“The banner of tolerance has been hauled down and the forces of darkness have finally taken the Swedish democracy hostage, too,”

One man's force of darkness is another man's force of reason. What isn't mentioned about the 57% that actually have jobs is how many of these jobs are part-time, token, make-work jobs provided by the government. If you are working 15 hours a week picking up cans in the park, while living in a subsidized apartment, with free health care, education, and other assistance, you are hardly of benefit to the society that has mistakenly let you in.

Europe will someday be asking North America for help taking back their countries. It may not be in my lifetime but it's coming.

It's a shame Europe can't be more tolerant, like the US is. New York has a hundred mosques, states like Minnesota elect Muslims to serve in Congress and the president, though a failure in just about everything he has tried, is gracious host of Iftar dinners at the White House.

Finally in Sweden they started to understand what immigration can cause..

Congratulation to the The Sweden Democrats and Mr. Jimmie Akesson.

''57% of immigrants were working'' only this fact is enough for everyone to get how these people are abusing the system..
