French kid on his back smoking some one else? Sounds typical of the French. Was the puff of white smoke looking like a waving flag?

The ads are different but far from ban worthy. If the pictures featured actual oral sex to a man with a cigarette in place of his face, that would be scandal worthy.

Pictures here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/02/24/french-oral-sex-anti-smok_n_474909.html but they're mild compared to Canadian blood & guts cancer photos.
HeyLars
The ad with the girl is a bad idea. Somebody seems to think that most women don't actually like giving oral. I question whether that person is truly French!
The one with the teenage boy might give most men and boys a negative reaction though. Associating a cigarette with a tube steak could keep many away from cigarettes.

anyone got a link to these ads? It would be nice to make up our own minds about what they look like.

A case of trying a bit too hard, pit would seem...

No ad that gets humans off that disgusting habit can ever be wrong. As for being a slave, I have to agree. If you smoke, you are a slave. I have a friend who at late night at my house, knowing he can't smoke in my house, would actually walk up to Nishi Azabu crossing so he could smoke come back for a drink. What a slave.

I think an ad that (further) sexualizes smoking would most likely backfire into attracting more people to cigarette addiction. Sadly, popular culture worships sex and as it's common knowledge, sex sells.

Haha, sounds funny (and I'm a smoker)

These ads are not sexually explicit at all. Looks like the minister has too much time on her hands.
