I have to question why she waited 20-something years to bring this up.

If she had DNA from several people on her dress, and several people who were tested were not the ones who donated it, that must have been one hell of a party. Good luck proving a rape two and a half decades later, even if his DNA is found in that soup.

Kind of creepy keeping a DNA splattered dress hanging in your closet for 20-something years. Why didn't you bring it to police after it happened?

In the US, rape allegations have a statute of limitations, usually different based on the age of the person raped at the time.

She is trying to civil sue about defamation, not rape. I've never heard of DNA being ordered over defamation before. There are lots of ways for "DNA" to get on a garment that have nothing to do with rape.

No remembering a meeting with someone is hardly important. If it is so important, why wait 20 yrs? Why not have a photo of more than standing next to each other? I've met Bill Clinton in Arkansas and President Jimmy Carter in Georgia, but I'd bet neither remember it. It wasn't a big day for them. I get the feeling that sexually assaulting women wouldn't be memorable for President Trump either.

Read the testimony of rape victims, the world over, about trauma and having to relive such horror. About why people often can succumb to suicide, self-harm, drug addictions and self-loathing.

And then read the online comments from (in the main part, but not all) men and their attitudes towards the victims.

That's another reason why so many chose to hold it all in.

Well Attorney General Barr, are you going to do something about this? Have the FBI look into it?

I mean, Bill Clinton was impeached in the House over this same allegation, so fair is fair, right?

Would be interesting to hear Ken Starr talk about this when he was lecturing us all on the evils of impeachment the other day...

First there was Bill Crosby, then Harvey Weinstein, then Jeffrey Epstein and now there's Donald Trump.

Rather pointless to look for Trump's DNA tracks around Manhattan, which can probably be found on any city block there. He is like a big fat human rabbit.

Uh-oh, another rape/molester/hooker/porn star eruption - what's Donnie going to do....

Get Cohen on the line!

What, he's in jail? Crap, get Rudy on the phone....

What, he's under federal investigation?

Get Saul Goodman on the phone quick!!!!

And bring my black Sharpie, I'm probably going to be signing some large checks...

Carroll accused Trump last summer of raping her in a Manhattan luxury department store dressing room in the mid-1990s.

Department stores in that decade were very busy places, there would have been plenty of people that would have come to her aid.

she said Trump reached under her black wool dress, pulled down her tights and raped her as she tried to fight him off, eventually escaping.

So admitted she caused a ruckus in her "desperate fight to escape" which would have been noticed by store employees or other customers - and yet nothing for 20 yrs.

A lab report with the legal notice says DNA found on the sleeves was a mix of at least four people, at least one of them male.

AT least four people, how quick will this be thrown out of court.

“She is trying to sell a new book — that should indicate her motivation,”

He's right she released a new book at a similar time that she first came public with her "claims".

Its called "What do we need men for" apart from the fact that nearly everything that women take for granted has been developed or invented by a by a man, I suggest in this case she needs a man to help sell her new book.

Why didn't she keep her underwear that she wears when Trump rape her if she kept the black wool coat-style dress for 20 years?

I can feel instantly she was a liar and a Democrat. DNA can be fabricated and planted on any body. They need more evidence and not just one DNA from the coat. The Judge can dismiss the case upon unreliable plaintiff's evidence. The Lawsuit was just tried to damage Trump's reelection.

I agree.

He paid off Stormy Daniels, whom he didn't rape. However, raping someone is a crime while getting swatted is a shameful embarrassment.

Wow. Just, wow.

People can be raped or assaulted in public - anywhere, outdoors, or indoors at parties, with other partygoers oblivious to what's going on in the next room. All it takes is plying the victim with alcohol, or covering their mouth, holding them down, lying on top of them, using threats of physical violence and so on.

The ongoing support for sexual predators here is horrific.

The "Modest Proposal" in Swift's case was that "the impoverished Irish might ease their economic troubles by selling their children as food to rich gentlemen and ladies." It was, obviously, a satire, in this case on the heartless attitude of the rich toward the poor.

Sometimes satire is lost on people. The great Peter O'Toole was loudly booed when he read an excerpt from that very work at the Gaiety in Dublin, much to the chagrin of the audience there. They clearly didn't get what he (and Swift) were getting at. Then again, this performance took place at the height of the famine in Ethiopia, so maybe the timing was wrong for that particular piece?

It's a shame that some will use the title of Carroll's book to trash her even further.

I admire women like her, who are brave enough to come forward, knowing that they will be utterly vilified for sharing their terrible experiences.
