Twittler. The most apt nickname I have heard for anyone ever.

What a damning list of pure, unadulterated lies from the Great Orange Falsifier.

You literally cannot believe anything that comes out of his mouth.

How did such a dishonest fraudster become President of our country?

Oh, that's right, 45 million Americans fell for Putin's disinformation and fake news...

When will they realize they've been conned...

6 ( +9 / -3 )

What a symbolic picture at the top of the article;

An unhappy, incompetent, inept man - in the early stages of dementia - standing behind a "wall" - as it rains on his parade...

7 ( +8 / -1 )

That's quite a comprehensive list of Trump's ridiculous lies and it's hard to feel sorry for his completely duped supporters. Vote him out if you value truth and honor.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

At this point the general public (i.e., not the "base") tends to understand that when our uninformed little fraud king speaks in generalities, he has no idea what he is talking about and will make stuff up; and when he speaks with particularity on a subject he does have direct knowledge of, he's lying.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Trump lies so much because his supporters and MSM lackeys make excuses for him.

He’s the laziest liar I’ve ever seen. He doesn’t have to do anything when he gets called out.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Would be great if the networks had a team of fact-checkers working real time for his every utterance. For press conferences, chopper talk and his rallies. Any random can take apart his tweets but I'd be pleased to see it done during forthcoming live debates and suchlike.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Why not put citizenship on the census? Most other countries do. I've had to report my citizenship to Japanese authorities many, many times, including the police neighborhood survey. No big deal.

We live in data-driven society. Governments in developed countries need lots of data these days to conduct proper tax, education and healthcare policies and other government services. Otherwise, they're just guessing.

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

Question is, would reading a truly gobsmacking article like this one about their supposed saviour's almost complete lack of acquaintance with the truth change their minds?

Nope. They just don't care.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Would be great if the networks had a team of fact-checkers working real time for his every utterance.

And for the liberals as well, really.

Any random can take apart his tweets but I'd be pleased to see it done during forthcoming live debates and suchlike.

While liberals do that, Trump scores another goal into 2020, winning.

-13 ( +0 / -13 )

And for the liberals as well, really.

Hmm. What does Trump's pathological lying have to do with your liberals?

While liberals do that, Trump scores another goal into 2020, winning.

So, let's be clear, to point out falsehoods, lies and misdirection is a liberal trait? The electorate should just swallow Trump lies?

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Hmm. What does Trump's pathological lying have to do with your liberals?

So many liberals lied on Trump and we’re called on it, so yes, it does matter....take your pick on the lies, if you compare they exceed any and all of Trump’s.

So, let's be clear, to point out falsehoods, lies and misdirection is a liberal trait? The electorate should just swallow Trump lies?

No, but they definitely shouldn’t swallow the lies of liberals and the Democrats as well.

-15 ( +1 / -16 )

So many liberals lied on Trump and we’re called on it,

You're a liberal, now?

so yes, it does matter....take your pick on the lies, if you compare they exceed any and all of Trump’s.

What does this have to with the topic showcasing Trump's lies?

No, but they definitely shouldn’t swallow the lies of liberals and the Democrats as well.

Can you approach a discussion without bringing your darling liberals into it?

11 ( +12 / -1 )

So Trumpers, are these statements in this article true? If not, what evidence can you provide to counter these facts?

TRUMP: "Well, as you know, President Obama had separation." — remarks Friday to reporters.

THE FACTS: He's wrong. The separation of thousands of migrant children from their parents resulted from Trump's "zero tolerance" policy. Obama had no such policy. After a public outcry and a court order, Trump generally ceased the practice.

TRUMP: "You look at what Joe Biden has done with China. We've lost our shirts with China and now China is dying to make a deal. So — and we're taking, by the way, billions and billions of dollars in tariffs are coming in — and China is paying for it, not our people." — remarks Friday to reporters.

THE FACTS: Actually, Americans are paying for it. Trump refuses to recognize a reality that his own chief economic adviser, Larry Kudlow, has acknowledged. Tariffs are mainly if not entirely paid by companies and consumers in the country that imposes them. China is not sending billions of dollars to the U.S. treasury.

TRUMP: "The Economy is the BEST IT HAS EVER BEEN!" — tweet Tuesday.

THE FACTS: The economy is not one of the best in the country's history. It expanded at an annual rate of 3.2 percent in the first quarter of this year. That growth was the highest in just four years for the first quarter. In the late 1990s, growth topped 4 percent for four straight years, a level it has not yet reached on an annual basis under Trump. Growth even reached 7.2 percent in 1984.

TRUMP, on approving private-sector health care for veterans: "I actually came up with the idea. I said, 'Why don't we just have the veterans go out and see a private doctor and we'll pay the cost of the doctor and that will solve the problem?'

THE FACTS: Trump did not invent the idea of giving veterans the option to see private doctors outside the Department of Veterans Affairs medical system at government expense. Nor is he the first president in 40 years to pass the program. Congress approved the private-sector Veterans Choice health program in 2014 and Obama signed it into law.

TRUMP: "You also got very nice pay raises for the last couple of years. Congratulations. Oh, you care about that. They care about that. I didn't think you noticed. Yeah, you were entitled. You know, it was close to 10 years before you had an increase. Ten years. And we said, 'It's time.' And you got a couple of good ones, big ones, nice ones." — remarks June 30 to service members at Osan Air Base, South Korea.

THE FACTS: He's been spreading this falsehood for more than a year, soaking up cheers from crowds for something he didn't do. In May 2018, for example, he declared to graduates of the United States Naval Academy: "We just got you a big pay raise. First time in 10 years." U.S. military members have received a pay raise every year for decades .

I could go on.....

You either have to acknowledge Trump lied on each of these occasions, or present factual evidence that he was telling the truth...

We'll be waiting...

13 ( +13 / -0 )

We'll be waiting...

A long time, methinks. That, or "the liberals"...

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Trump supporters already know he is an a-grade bullplopper but they don't care as long as he starts doing something for his base - anything in fact. His opponents, despite their constant tears, humiliation and projection would be delighted that he has done nothing so far. If the Dems are smart with their candidate and appeal to their base, they can win. They will blow it of course.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Everyone knows Trump lies. Some people support it, some don't is all.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Democracy rewards the best liars. Every President in my living memory has been an almost sociopathic liar. If these politicians told the truth they would be booed off the stage.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Trump has lied more than one million times. What more is there to say? All Americans should really be embarrassed.

“If you like your insurance you can keep your insurance” - Barack Hussein Obama.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

“If you like your insurance you can keep your insurance” - Barack Hussein Obama.

LOL this one thinks a broken campaign promise matches a daily pathological liar. You drink the same Kool aid as Trump fans, wolf. You aren't special.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

It is hard to follow Donald Trump. If you’re on the offensive, you’d call him a liar, but to me it’s more confusion and incompetence. He is not sure of what he’s doing.

On Saturday at G20 he announced US companies would be allowed to sell goods to Huawei. On Tuesday he sends email to Commerce Department to reiterate there is no change in policy.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Trump has lied more than one million times.

According to the Washington Post, which doesn't like Trump, as of May he's lied about 10,000 times. So you're saying that since May he's lied another 990,000 times? haha

Associated Press writers

Hence this fluff piece. They hate Trump.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

just admit your guy is the biggest Presidential liar in history... blah blah blah

Oh my...

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/washington-secrets/list-200-reasons-why-obama-is-worst-president-in-history

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

So you're saying that since May he's lied another 990,000 times? haha

You fell in to his trap quite nicely. You're quite happy to finger Zichi for his single 'lie', but quite happy to forgive your captain for his 10,000. Seems you hold Zichi to higher standards than your president.

Trump supporters like you seem upset that we & the Washington Post don't buy his lies as easily as you do. We apologise for not being gullible.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

But he’ll probably win in 2020. Trump is just the man people love to hate. C’est la vie. People forget its politics. Who doesn’t lie, his or her way? Or stretch the truth? Regardless, he’s talking to his people, the ones that are going to re-elect him. He made it to the top two years ago without CNN or others, he’ll get there again. The economy isn’t doing too badly, he’s got China dancing and he’s dancing with Kim..and Abe and others. He’s happy.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Trump is a liar, unlike any other in the world of US politics. That is unfortunate. But he is 1 person in the current govt.

That should tell you how much Democratic policies scare many conservatives who are otherwise nice, sane, people. It really is about the economy, in the end. Which is doing well at the moment even with Trump's wacko screwing with it.

I would like pretty much anyone else to be President if they have conservative fiscal policies. Sadly, the US political system won't allow that, so we are all stuck.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

@lincolnman: Prove it. And prove all the rest of the examples are false.

That’s not how it works. The authors are making an accusation that Trump lies about the census citizenship question. I demonstrated that it was a false accusation. The people making the accusation must prove its validity. They admit in their own statements that the question existed up 1950.

That's wrong. Over the nation's history, the citizenship question has been left off the census questionnaire more times than not.

This is a blatantly false assertion that isn’t backed up with any evidence.

The Census Bureau hasn't included a citizenship question in its once-a-decade survey sent to all U.S. households since 1950

Here the “journalists” actually contradict their own assertion. Even if you accept the false statement that the question has not been asked since 1950 (and it clearly has), the question was asked in one form or other since 1830. They flat out lied and were so caught up in their own politicized narrative they were unable to see it. Hilarious.

If you can't, they're true - and you have to acknowledge what a liar Donnie is....

I love your sense of justice. Just an assertion is proof and the onus is on the accused and not the accuser. You have just legitimized those that believed that Obama was born in Kenya.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Bottom line is the question needs to be there. How can you conduct a census and not know how many people in your country are actually residents? It's a census.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

You're a liberal, now?

Only When it concerns the good herb.

What does this have to with the topic showcasing Trump's lies?

Everything.

Can you approach a discussion without bringing your darling liberals into it?

No, because to ignore liberal lies would be......a lie. I’m just saying, get off the double standard, if you or Americans in particular are concerned about his lying then you can’t ignore equally the lies of liberals as well.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

I like the one where the Tourist accidentally checks the box which says "Are you a Terrorist".. guess what happened next....

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Trump distorts...and straight out lies.

There has to be something wrong (besides plain stupidity) going on in that tiny orange head.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Hope Yen and Calvin Woodword must be pro-Obama and anti-Trump journalist. I don't the whether their fact checks are right or wrong but I exactly knew they are anti-Trump and pro-Obama and democrat supporters.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Liar, liar pants on fire.

Wow, the progressives are really upping their game. What's next? Nanny nanny boo boo?

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

@JeffLee

Why not put citizenship on the census?

Because it might make liars of many people?

I know that some people lie on the census. I was once a door-to-door census taker for a mid-decade special census.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

It's no longer news that trump lies, and when it's mentioned multiple times in the article, it's a waste of time.

The question of if the question should be in the census is far more important than if it was asked before.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

It's no longer news that trump lies, and when it's mentioned multiple times in the article, it's a waste of time.

O actually don’t like the use of the word “lie”, as a lie involves the intent to deceive. Ignorance on the other hand is not a lie. It’s a falsehood. A falsehood is false regardless of intent. The only way to know that someone has lied is to be able to show that they clearly knew that the falsehood was a falsehood ahead of the fact. This has clearly not been shown with all of the falsehoods Trump has spoken, and therefore I find the usage of the word in journalism to be poor, and in fact unethical, journalism. It is making a determination or inference, rather than reporting the facts.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

O actually don’t like...

I don’t like...

Oh for an edit button. Even for just one minute after posting.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

@strangerland

Oh for an edit button.

One thing we will always agree on!

3 ( +3 / -0 )

I know that some people lie on the census. I was once a door-to-door census taker for a mid-decade special census.

Of course many will lie about their status, but citizenship and resident status is important for things like state representation. Like it or not, illegal residents do not count toward accurate government representation (all the more reason to work toward legal residency) and leaving the question off just 'because people might lie' is disingenuous and basically saying that we don't care about accuracy in government.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Interesting arguments here... "o lie or not to lie that is ther question." or is it???

Since everyine seem to accept "white lies".., may be.., may be not.., but are there "black lies", "red lies", yellow lies" and every other colors in the ranbow..?

Facts and figures including much of histroy are not 100% or even correct. Ask a historian and a cernsus taker and they will admit a percentage of error as well as a percentage of truth, all depending on the question asked and data available. All hisotry witten by any country "distorts" to "favor" its own country. Heroes are not all by facts but by thoughts, feelings and opinions of others who had or had not actually experienced it.

The point to all this is that all this fact checking may or may not have the need or the values placed upon it.

At a rally to motivate a nation to be proud of its heritage, a person so inclined may "boast" more than needed as with a fish being caught that grows each time one tells of it.

One may also look at and evaluate some of speeches that Macron or May or Putin, even, makes. You will find that it is not much different. One may know and remember the "gist" of much, but very little of the actual facts and data. (That also depends on who actually wrote the speech; a speechwriter or Trump himself. A speechwriter must assertain facts and figures but not necessarily the Pres.)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

As expected, nothing but strikeouts from the Trumpers here - not one fact presented to rebut those presented by the authors, proving Trump is a demented, psychotic, serial liar.

Keep believing him if you're that bamboozled - especially when he tells you that the North's B-52s are what won the Civil War...

1 ( +1 / -0 )

How could Trump possibly be wrong or lying? I mean, they stormed the airports in 1776 just for him! Well, okay, that was the teleprompter's fault even though he knew the speech "very well".

1 ( +2 / -1 )

You fell in to his trap quite nicely. You're quite happy to finger Zichi for his single 'lie', but quite happy to forgive your captain for his 10,000. Seems you hold Zichi to higher standards than your president.

Trump supporters like you seem upset that we & the Washington Post don't buy his lies as easily as you do. We apologise for not being gullible.

I don't buy the 10,000 either. That's what the Washington Post claims. And you are indeed gullible for lapping up everything the media says about Trump, most of which is either lies or distortions.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

I think insinuating that Washington Post reporters are all dishonest liars who can't be trusted, who probably wouldn't know accuracy if it bit them and who are probably borderline illiterate is quite rude to bass4funk, our own Washington Post reporter and your fellow Trumpist. I think you owe him an apology.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

10 previous census have asked about citizenship including in 2000 when Hillary Clinton's husband Bill was president. It wasn't unconstitutional then and it's not unconstitutional now. The Constitution hasn't changed. How come Democrats don't want it now? Hmm? Perhaps the anti-Trumpers can answer that.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

How could Trump possibly be wrong or lying? I mean, they stormed the airports in 1776 just for him! Well, okay, that was the teleprompter's fault even though he knew the speech "very well".

Infantile much, smith? You also said this:

Trump created the crisis, as illegal immigration has gone up EXPONENTIALLY under his reign.

Three things -

One, the Democrats are opposing him at every turn on the wall.

Two, the U.S. economy is booming thanks to Trump's policies no matter how much you want to credit Obama for it.

Three, the Democrats are basically saying hey, come on in any which way you can, we'll decriminalize your illegal actions and give you free health care.

So much for trying to blame Trump for this crisis.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

One, the Democrats are opposing him at every turn on the wall.

Like your team did on health care.

Two, the U.S. economy is booming thanks to Trump's policies no matter how much you want to credit Obama for it.

Yeah, it's now beyond Obama's policies. So Trump gets the credit, and he'll also get the blame when it collapses.

What you people don't understand is that getting an economy to ramp up is REALLY easy. Doing it in a stable and safe manner that does't just collapse a few years later is REALLY hard.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

One, the Democrats are opposing him at every turn on the wall.

Like your team did on health care.

That wasn't my team.

Two, the U.S. economy is booming thanks to Trump's policies no matter how much you want to credit Obama for it.

Yeah, it's now beyond Obama's policies. So Trump gets the credit, and he'll also get the blame when it collapses.

As much as you and the Democrats want it to, it's not gonna collapse.
