Unfortunately Barr's a DC swampman beholden to Trump; he's a life long backer of the elite the Trump administration serves. Barr, Trump and the GOP put their Party before country, and the Party serves the interests of the elite.
One way or another that will happen. A free, for-profit press will see to it the truth comes out.
Why should Mueller say anything? He's done the work he was assigned and submitted his findings. Barr has said this:
Only Trump's most loyal followers will continue to call it a witch hunt. True believers, after all.
bass4funk
Yeah, right. The man voted for Jeb Bush in 2016, there goes that argument.
Then by that statement, the Democrats are worse.
Yeah? Like?
And only the haters will continue to believe there was collusion or obstruction.
Black Sabbath
I agree.
Release the report.
Blacklabel
Oh so it’s inappropriate for Barr to be Trump’s advocate? Like he can’t be his “wingman” on things?
arrestpaul
And I don't trust the Democrat Pelosi.
That pretty much sums up the Democrat's position on all things Trump. Pelosi didn't know what the Mueller investigation would discover, but for two years considered Trump to be at fault for everything and anything the Democrat party could accuse him of. Of course, Pelosi doesn't know what Barr is referring to, but that doesn't matter. Barr must be wrong because the Democrats need/feel Barr must be wrong. After all, the "collusion" claim didn't pan out as the Democrats had hoped.

Good to see you're learning a bit of Constitutional law, Black! Yes, it is not only inappropriate; it is illegal. Otherwise, Nixon would have completed two terms.
But this is typically Trump. When he can't defend himself, he ¹creates strawmen; ²suborns others to do his dirty work so as to maintain clean legal distance (this is why he communicates by phone, not email - no paper trail); and ³attacks ferociously.
For Trump, it's a win-win: if he wins, he gets off; if he loses, his bagmen take the fall. Barr is now a bagman. We'll see how long he lasts and what extent of legal jeopardy Trump entices him into. Any more questions about why Trump can't staff his administration?

If Adam Schiff had any actual evidence of wrongdoing, which he repeatedly claims to have seen, then he should have presented that evidence, under oath, to the Mueller investigation, instead of repeatedly spouting nonsense, while not under oath, to the pro-Democrat Party news outlets.
bass4funk
How? In America, we have laws, I don’t know about the laws of other countries, but in the US he just can’t release it just because Democrats are having a hissy fit.
Let me tell you about the hypocrisy of our Democrats

I am.

I was willing to give Barr the benefit of the doubt when he was hired based on his reputation. But it appears he is buckling to the cesspool that is the Trump administration.
The full report needs to go to Congress. While criminal collusion (conspiracy) didn't reach the level of an indictment, there are clear examples of misconduct and poor judgment that must be known. What was the extent of Manafort's sharing of campaign info with the Russians? What was the reason for Flynn's meeting with the Russian Ambassador? Why did Don Jr and Trump lie in writing about the purpose of the Trump Tower meeting?
No Nixonian cover-ups - let the people see and judge for themselves.
Wolfpack
So this is the depths to which Dems will go to hold onto their collusion delusion. Barr simply reports a summary of Mueller’s findings. Pelosi and the gang make the inexplicable assumption that Barr is lying about Mueller’s conclusions. Meanwhile he goes to work every day and sits down with Mueller on the redaction of classified information in the report.
Pelosi hasn’t even seen the report yet and she thinks Barr is colluding with Trump who they still believe is colluding with Putin in order to undermine the Constitution. After two years of bombshells and innuendo she and her rabid cohort cannot wait a few weeks to see the report before claiming their is a coverup right under Mueller's nose. It’s an amazing yet truly sad performance.
There will undoubtedly be embarrassing things that come out in the report when it is released in the next week or so. I fully expect Pelosi and her ‘conspirators to create conspiracy’ will latch on to some tidbit to claim Trump is the second coming of Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and Attila the Hun all rolled up into one. The Left has gone full on bat crazy.
Time to to the second phase - the political spying scandal within the FBI and the corrupt use of government law enforcement resources to benefit Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Two more years of a second special counsel should get us up through to the 2020 election.
bass4funk
Wow...just...Wow....Lol.
As he should.
Why? Because Barr is not falling in line with the take down Trump cronies? Because the man is actually looking for smoke in the right direction, because he’s now going after the real players? Damn Barr! How dare he? No, the Democrats are now backed in a corner because now there is an AG that will get to the bottom and look who was responsible for launching this hoax operation and if it pans out that there was a covert effort to try and overturn the election. It failed and failed miserably and now that cigar exploded in their face and Barr can’t be bought. We’re he against Trumps, idiots like Jennifer Ruben would praise him, but he isn’t, he’s always been known as a straight shooter and now because of that, he’s vilified? The Democrat desperation is a crack up.
I think he’ll outlast the House Democrats who are now without a doubt incapable of governing at this point, because that’s not what they are doing or are interested in. Forget their constituents, we need to get Trump whatever the cost. They still didn’t learn anything apparently from 2010, 2014, 2016.
bass4funk
Uhh, that ship already sailed...
He did??? And your proof of that is.....
Aha! Who said, I never watch links? Are you speculating again? I watch them, I just also watch opposing points of views.
SuperLib
Let's see the report.
Deadforgood
I don't really care what Pelosi or Barr thinks. I want to see the report so I can think for myself. You guys that don't want it released don't know what "creating your own opinion" means.
Wolfpack
This reminds me a lot of the night of the 2016 election when Dems were struck dumb by Hillary’s defeat (watch the YouTube videos they are hilarious). Pelosi and her party do not know how to process the fact that they have been beaten by Trump again. They have once more been struck dumb and are searching for answers in a futile attempt to make sense of their own ineptitude. It’s as if they are trying to help Trump get re-elected.
They went all in on collusion and poof - it’s over. For now they are stuck repeating their same old claims even though their White Knight, Robert Mueller, has chopped their legs out from under them. Look up the stages of grief to see what Pelosi says next.
bass4funk
I am so amazed at how defiant Nadler is about this report, I mean, he’s demanding it, funny how he was demanding for the Starr report to not be made public back in 1998.
Laguna
Lincoln, with all due respect, Mueller is old-school: he subscribes to the theory that a sitting president may not be indicted, that any legal action possible must come from Congress (a good idea, in my opinion). This makes it all more essential that the House committee receive an unredacted version of the report and underlying material - and is why Barr is stuck trying to square a circle: he's undoubtedly under great pressure from the administration to release as little as possible but is cognizant of his legal responsibilities and ramifications if he evades them.
Barr is likely already ruing the day he chose to associate himself with Trump.
Wolfpack
I’ve heard this canard numerous times. Pretty much everyone wants Mueller’s report released. However many don’t feel like it is necessary to break the law in doing so or giving up counter intelligence sources and methods either. Apparently Dems could care less about intelligence secrets (see their defense of Hillary’s private and unsecure bathroom email server) they want the entire report released in full.
For Pelosi and the fringe Left, breaking the law, breaking the confidentiality of grand jury deliberations, and smearing innocent people who were never charged with a crime is fine if it serves the purpose of getting a Republican president.
To this day Carter Page has still not been charged with a crime. This entire morass was initiated as an investigation of Page and he has never been found to have broken any laws or to have colluded with the Russians. Meanwhile members of Trumps campaign were spied on through their communications with him. The FBI never warned Trump of their suspicions about Page. Why? So they can spy on his political campaign? I can think of no similar or more serious past threat to the foundations of American democracy than that.
bass4funk
I don’t buy that for a second. Trump assigned the report to Barr and left it up to his discretion as to how or when he wants to release it and what is secret and what methods are used and need to be protected and if there is grand jury testimony or indictments that they remain to be sealed. But yes, he’s old school and thank God he’s not buckling under the Democrats pressure to break the law because they’re not happy with the results
You know, I really don’t think so, he seems to be thinking this guy is really making sense.
Toasted Heretic
Not just Democrats.
The people of America deserve to hear the truth. Why can't the report be released? Or for that matter, Trump's grades? His tax returns?
The Trump criminal administration is a threat to the foundations of American democracy.
Lock them up. All of them.
Deadforgood
How do you know what he is thinking? Can you read his mind?

If you had bothered to even listen to Schiff's comments, you would have found that nothing he said is in dispute. It is all documented and unchallenged, even by Trump and his people. One example: Trump fired James Comey because of the Russia investigation. How do we know? Because he said so on national TV and to the Russian ambassador in the Oval Office. If that's not obstruction of justice, I don't know what is.
lincolnman
Only for the Trump fringe - all the rest of America wants to know why seven senior Trump officials met with Russians then lied about it - and why Trump lied in writing when he dictated the Trump Tower memo - remember adoptions? And that's only the tip - let all the details come out.
Proof? Are you kidding? He's openly admitted it. And don't dodge - why do Trumpers want the report repressed - even Trump has said it should be released.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-03-20/trump-says-let-people-see-mueller-s-report-when-it-s-released
And the Trumpers here who were railing for complete transparency on the bogus Bengahzi investigation (right Congressman McCarthy) now have flip-flopped - Repub hypocrisy....
I hope you realize that when you post this bunk you're doing exactly what Putin wants you to do...
arrestpaul
That's kinda the point, isn't it?
bass4funk
If you think Trump is going to be hauled off to prison, it’s not going to happen. The game is over, what more do the Democrats THINK they can do? And when will the Democrats turn their attention to their constituents, you know the people they said, they would represent, but are not? Besides losing a battle on trying to get Trump on nothing, what do they stand for, what are the Democrats policies going forward?
SuperLib
Well, no. There are still several investigations going. I predicted Trump would walk on collusion from day 1. I'd like to see the obstruction evidence in case there's more than just Trump blatantly admitting it to the world on TV.
pointofview
@lincolnman,
How could you possibly know?
@Chipstar,
Dems are the maestros of soft on crime.
Deadforgood
Perhaps on some issues, however conservatives are notoriously soft on violent crime, including prevention of such crimes...And they say they want to protect Americans. Sheesh, the majority of death in America is through the actions of its own people. Why continue trying to blame it on others?
bass4funk
I really don’t know. I always wanted to know why Nadler didn’t want the Starr report to come out and un-redacted.
Ok and then what? Lol
Double Bingo!
Deadforgood
Always apples and oranges with you...
In other words, "I don't care if Trump is a criminal"
Wild speculation. Also, you've told us multiple times that you are from California, so no, you wouldn't hold that back...
Serrano
I trust Mueller
OK, Nancy, but Mueller isn't recommending any further indictments and has not produced one iota of evidence of collusion or obstruction. When the redacted report comes out to confirm this, Nancy will have no choice but to open up a new front against Trump to try to take him down as the tax return thingy isn't working either.
She is pathetic and needs to be removed from Congress along with Schiff, Schumer, , AOC, Maxine and a bunch of other idiot Democrats.
Goodlucktoyou
Why are democrats such bad losers? Even Clinton still hasn’t got over her defeat to a baffoon.
Strangerland
Haha awesome. She's great.
Texas A&M Aggie
AG Barr is taking flak from the democrats. That must mean he's over the target. Not to worry, Madame Speaker. We'll just have to read the coming indictments in order to find out what's in them.
arrestpaul
Allowing elected Democrats to see anyone's private tax returns would almost guarantee that their private information would be leaked.
Serrano
Haha awesome. She's great.
That's not awesome, Stranger. Awesome is what Trump said when he canceled Pelosi's excursion to Europe and Afghanistan during the shutdown:
“I am sure you would agree that postponing this public relations event is totally appropriate,” he said. “I also feel that, during this period, it would be better if you were in Washington negotiating with me and joining the Strong Border Security movement to end the Shutdown.”
