The president must have pulled some strings for his son-in-law. It makes no sense for the government to restore Jared Kushner’s top-secret-level security clearance after all of the revisions he made to his SF-86 form used to gain a security clearance and retroactively reporting interactions with foreign officials, including Russians.

While you're at it, might as well give Sergey Kislyak a security clearance.

Kushner, a key White House adviser with a portfolio

that includes dealings with Israel, China, Russia and Arab Gulf states.

Trump has been able to convince roughly 33% of Americans that he cares about them and the country as a whole.

Most of the 67% know Trump cares mainly one thing, and that's making himself richer while he's in office.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

Knew this would make all the liberals mad.

Comedy gold. So anyone who doubts that Kushner isn't quite above board is a liberal now. Weird view of the world you have there.

https://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2018/02/5-shady-investments-that-may-have-cost-jared-kushn.html

He's as bent as a scenic railway.

Knew this would make all the liberals mad

Excuse me, I'm not a liberal and I'm not mad. I'm wondering what this man's qualifications are - this man who:

had to submit his federal disclosure form for security clearance three times.

He initially left a section asking about foreign contacts empty before eventually updating it to include more than 100 names. The Washington Post alleged that he listed the dates of his graduate degrees incorrectly and did not include the address of his father-in-law, President Trump.

Well done Jared. Now get out there and make some money!

Who elected this person and is he still registered to vote as a woman?

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41423077

8 ( +8 / -0 )

You’re definitely not a conservative.

There's more to the political spectrum that conservative or liberal.

we should be more careful before condemning this man without a shred of evidence to fully support those allegations.

More swampish stuff here

8 ( +8 / -0 )

If Rosenstein is in on it, why doesn’t Trump fire him?

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Would anyone reviewing his form NOT know that? You guys get so petty sometimes.

I'll say it again - he had to submit the form three times. That's three times he got an important document wrong.

Kind of worrying, no?

7 ( +8 / -1 )

This guy should never have received a clearance. Period.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

the FBI and CIA using its powers to usurp a duly elected president.

You mean Rosenstein and Clapper and Brennan want to take over the country? All of them, witches!

6 ( +6 / -0 )

is mueller still “coming for him”?

How would we know? Unlike the right, we are not pretending we have any idea what's happening inside the investigation.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Yes, but you are not a conservative and you’re not an American, therefore you cannot partake in the political process

Only conservatives can vote now? I knew things were sliding towards fascism but wow...

which is very complicated anyway. You can always comment on it, but that’s about it.

Not really, Mr bass. Millions of us around the globe can make our voices heard through protest, boycotts and pressurise our representatives to stand up to US corruption and bullying.

Dodgy deals with Ukraine, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Russia etc have wider consequences and American interference with other democracies will not be tolerated. Be it government, CIA or even evangelical/far right meddling (see abortion referendum in Ireland).

5 ( +5 / -0 )

I just don’t get the anger at liberals when the head guy and the head investigator are Republican. And Comey is Republican.

Shouldn’t you be more angry with the GOP?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

they obviously want to remove the President and overturn the results of the election

Why would career DOJ and FBI professionals with impeccable track records of ethical and nonpartisan service want to throw it all away because of a distaste for Donald Trump?

Pure fantastical conjecture, friend. Things don't work that way. America is still a land of constitutional law and people who are committed to upholding its longstanding founding principles, despite the despotic fever dreams of its current president.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Because if he fired Rosenstein then we gotta listen to liberals for another 2 years screeching about obstruction of justice again.

Political correctness? Trump was elected on promises of not being politically correct and hitting back.

the FBI and CIA using its powers to usurp a duly elected president.

The latest Trump conspiracy.

===

Kushner was interviewed for over six hours this time, and three hours before. He had to speak about events including the firing of Comey.

His attorney asked if Kushner was a witness or a suspect, but Mueller's team wouldn't respond. His attorney assumed he was just a witness. There is also no comment on whether Kushner was offered a plea deal to speak so long or whether he tried to assert executive immunity, like a bunch of people did in congressional testimony.

they did it that’s all that matters.

I don't want to ask, but what does "it" refer to.

I’m sure that will be one of the questions at their criminal trials.

Criminal trials for FBI counter intelligence agents talking to Trump people speaking to Russian agents during a campaign, but seemingly not alerting the public to this so as not to cause a problem with Trump's campaign. It is too much of a stretch and only the conspiracy inclined Trump supporters could selectively believe.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

bass: I don’t want to speculate, I am not in his head, but he is within his constitutional rights to do so, but I don’t think that will happen, because this witchhunt is coming to a close very soon, so there’s no need for it.

Yeah, no need. I mean Rosenstein is only the one in charge of the corrupt withchunt against Trump, but he probably won’t succeed, so let’s just let bygones by bygones. It fits in with Trump’s style of letting people walk all over him and doing nothing, right?

I’ll even do you one better. I believe, and call me crazy for this, that if Trump walks, he won’t even bother firing Rosenstein, and probably won’t even mention the obvious corruption again. What do you think?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

I don't get it. Is that like someone who says they served their country but actually didn't?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Okay, so spying is now ok all of a sudden? Wow!

A counter-intel op is always, always, always, OK. It is called protecting America. Hmmm.

The sad thing about it is

There is a lot of sad things going on.

Been right so far, so I want to thank the Dems to keep giving us this treasure of lies that keep coming out.

Like these lies?

5 guilty pleas

1 indictment of Manafort, campaign manager

13 russians and 3 russian companies indicted

More to come, plus as a bonus:

1 indictment coming for Trump's personal attorney

2 ( +3 / -1 )

He doesn't DO anything...

1 ( +1 / -0 )

But once Nunes, Gowdy find out and get those documents they asked for, we shall see.

Nunes is your champion? Oh, dear. A Billy Squire song comes to mind.

Gowdy at least sounded reasonable when speaking. He lost credibility though after issuing that report that was totally contradicted by the Senate's report.

Hope Springs Eternal.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

If the purpose of this spying was to protect America, why didnt BOTH sides have a spy?

Well, Clinton didn’t appoint a money launderer as her campaign manager.

Also, there is no evidence of spying. Trump made that up in a tweet but you’re obviously having difficulty separating fantasy from reality. Prove that it was politically motivated spying or you’re just spreading Trump’s fake news.

And no, telling me to “wait for something big” isn’t evidence either.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

And you guys really need to come up with a good fantasy theory as to why the biggest political witch hunt in the history of the US, as Trump puts it, is allowed to continue under Rosenstein.

So far the reasons I’ve heard sound made up.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Yep, no need to fire the leader of the biggest political witch hunt in US history.

But those under him, yeah, let's fire them and threaten charges. But not the leader.

Just no need.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Well, congratulations.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

lengthy FBI background check so a lengthy check of Kushner by the FBI is fine but if the do it to Trump theyre suddenly all corrupt!? If the FBI is corrupt then it would seem fair that Kushners investigation is also tainted!?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Nothing to do with Trump you keep stating that over and over yet Trump has been proven by the FBI to hire and surround himself with corrupt individuals. The only person who knows if it has anything to do with Trump is Mueller and Trump himself. Trump certainly isnt going to tell, so well have to leave it to Muellers investigation.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

The man is a traitor. Death penalty too leanious.

Democracy is very Ill now.

Follow the money as he has sold out Freedom all for money

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

As someone here who actually has filled out an application for a security clearance, it is very easy to have to fill it out more than once.

When listing my work history, the place I worked my first job at 15 years old, had been robbed, the owners murdered and the business no longer existed. I could provide the name of the business but obviously I wasn't able to provide contact information. This was not good enough for the FBI and I had to fill it out again after my parents, 6500 miles away, were able to find the old phone number for me (this was before the internet and Google).

I was just a lowly Army E-3 getting a mid-level clearance. I can only imagine the information someone like Kushner would have to provide so having to correct some errors means absolutely nothing.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

So is Kushner still going to jail or is he off the liberal list of potential jailees?

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Criminal trials for FBI counter intelligence agents talking to Trump people speaking to Russian agents during a campaign,

Okay, so spying is now ok all of a sudden? Wow!

but seemingly not alerting the public to this so as not to cause a problem with Trump's campaign.

Total and utter BS! The sad thing about it is, liberals actually believe conservatives are THAT stupid to buy into that garbage.

It is too much of a stretch and only the conspiracy inclined Trump supporters could selectively believe

Been right so far, so I want to thank the Dems to keep giving us this treasure of lies that keep coming out.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Nunes is your champion?

Yes, I said it.

Oh, dear. A Billy Squire song comes to mind.

I’m a traditional Fender man.

Gowdy at least sounded reasonable when speaking. He lost credibility though after issuing that report that was totally contradicted by the Senate's report.

Hope Springs Eternal.

Winter is coming, hope the Dems dress well. I don’t think Trump would ever pardon Brennan or Comey or Clapper.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

but you cant appoint a special counsel for a counterintelligence investigation. You guys screwed that part up while trying to hide the spying.

"it" is the spying and the people going to jail arent the counterintelligence people, but those who authorized spying on US citizens. Brennan, Clapper. Comey. McCabe has turned on Comey, the 2nd FBI agent in the room will testify Flynn didnt lie, etc etc. Its gonna be fun to watch this all fall apart.

13 russians and 3 russian companies indicted

Oh you mean the case Mueller is begging for a 3 month delay because he isnt "ready" to prosecute? If so, why didnt he wait to indict until he was ready for trial? oops. Manfort, oops. Flynn, oops. ou got very little left.

.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

That was what he was saying in his campaign to get elected, so its relevant. He repeated the same thing to Jay Leno when he was President and said it numerous other times that "we dont spy on Americans". Clapper changed his tune as well, he now says it wasnt the "intent" to spy on Trump.

If the purpose of this spying was to protect America, why didnt BOTH sides have a spy? The intelligence agencies been supposedly saying Russia wanted to hurt Hillary and help Trump. Who needed protection then? Hillary did, so that Russia didnt infiltrate her campaign to harm her chances of winning.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

? you stated you were not a member of the republican party and you supported the NRA but you don't need to be a card member for that.

True, but it has nothing to do with being a member. Context matters. You can support the NRA and not be a member, there other ways she can do that, as for me I am a member I was just giving you an example when I said that

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Ok got it. You are not a member of the republican party but you are a card carrying NRA member.

Exactly

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Yeah, no need. I mean Rosenstein is only the one in charge of the corrupt withchunt against Trump, but he probably won’t succeed, so let’s just let bygones by bygones. It fits in with Trump’s style of letting people walk all over him and doing nothing, right?

Entrapment? It’s not going to happen.

I’ll even do you one better. I believe, and call me crazy for this,

Hmmmm.....

that if Trump walks, he won’t even bother firing Rosenstein, and probably won’t even mention the obvious corruption again. What do you think?

Oh, I think she will talk about it for a long time, that would in the lefts face for sure. And then the Democrat party is really going to be taking it’s last breath.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Like not being a member of the republican party to the NRA. I understand, membership is overrated anyway.

Yeah, 5 million members is totally overrated.

Political correctness? Trump was elected on promises of not being politically correct and hitting back.

And he’s doing a great job, Clapper keeps tripping over his words recently, but I have to give Comey credit, at least he’s smart enough to lawyer up.

We won’t know and I don’t think Kushner has anything to worry about, if he didn’t do anything wrong and we don’t know if he did or not, but at least we know Trump would pardon him if it has to come down to it.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

A counter-intel op is always, always, always, OK. It is called protecting America. Hmmm.

Yeah, had it been done to Hillary why she was President, there would be endless rows of gallows waiting...

Like these lies?

5 guilty pleas

Nothing to do with Trump

1 indictment of Manafort, campaign manager

Nothing to do with Trump

13 russians and 3 russian companies indicted

Symbolic, as if Putin is going to turn these people over? ROFL!

Again, nothing to do with Trump, but once he pardons therm, it’ll be all good and everyone will get ready ready to go once again.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

The two meetings with Congress and all the intelligence people tomorrow should finally shed some light on all of this. Poor leaker Adam Schiff cant come. sad!

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

You said recently you were not a card carrying republican member nor NRA member?

I never said that.

But Trump won't need to since they won't actually be guilty of any crimes.

Exactly.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Donald Trump's personal lawyer Michael Cohen was paid at least $400,000 to arrange a meeting between the Ukrainian and Donald Trump. Mr Cohen was not registered as a “foreign agent” representing Ukraine - as required by US law.

Which doesn’t have anything to do with Trump.

Giuliani states Trump should do Mueller interview and a decision will be made soon.

And the focus of his questionnaire will be very limited between 10 to 20 questions precisely narrowed and with his lawyers present to make sure Mueller stays on the straight and narrow.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

You mean Rosenstein and Clapper and Brennan want to take over the country? All of them, witches!

No, they want to keep liberals and the establishment in power.

I just don’t get the anger at liberals when the head guy and the head investigator are Republican. And Comey is Republican.

As if the party affiliation means something. Lol

Shouldn’t you be more angry with the GOP?

Why? The DNP are the ones with the help of the intelligence agency trying to undermine the duly elected President to overturn the election and so far, it’s been blowing up in their faces, not shockingly.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

So make him the American ambassador for Israel and he, and his family can go and live in Jerusalem.

Maybe he doesn’t want to.

Why would career DOJ and FBI professionals with impeccable track records of ethical and nonpartisan service want to throw it all away because of a distaste for Donald Trump?

Because they simply thought they could get away with it and they almost did.

Pure fantastical conjecture, friend.

Yeah, the left keep saying that, but no one is listening anymore. I just hope Clapper and Brennan do the smart thing like Comey and lawyer up.

Things don't work that way. America is still a land of constitutional law and people who are committed to upholding its longstanding founding principles, despite the despotic fever dreams of its current president.

Yes, that’s why this administration is trying to smash through because the top echelon of the intelligence agency and DOJ. But once Nunes, Gowdy find out and get those documents they asked for, we shall see.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

I don't get it. Is that like someone who says they served their country but actually didn't?

Sounds like you just described the intelligence community and DOJ to a tee.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

I don’t know. I’m sure that will be one of the questions at their criminal trials. I would guess it’s not Trump hate but fear that it would be found out what they did to protect Hillary and try to ensure her win. I don’t care as much about the why, they did it that’s all that matters.

Why would career DOJ and FBI professionals with impeccable track records of ethical and nonpartisan service want to throw it all away because of a distaste for Donald Trump?

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Because you were using the fact that his security clearance was taken away to insinuate that he was under mueller investigation and wouldn’t get it back until he was cleared. Well guess he is cleared.

or are all you denying that you were gleefully saying here that Kuschner would be going to jail.

its common that these forms are returned multiple times. It’s a government form that has unclear directions.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

Only conservatives can vote now?

I was talking about Americans.

I knew things were sliding towards fascism but wow...

And this is the reason why liberals are in so much trouble.

Not really, Mr bass. Millions of us around the globe can make our voices heard through protest, boycotts and pressurise our representatives to stand up to US corruption and bullying.

Yes, you can. Good luck with that.

Dodgy deals with Ukraine, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Russia etc have wider consequences and American interference with other democracies will not be tolerated.

But with China, Iran, Cuba, those are legit and OK?

Be it government, CIA or even evangelical/far right meddling (see abortion referendum in Ireland).

And the left benefiting from federal funding and the FBI and CIA using its powers to usurp a duly elected president.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

Kushner granted permanent security clearance -- Headline

There no such thing as a "permanent security clearance" in the U,S. government. Security clearances can be revoked at anytime.

If the USM were to ever report a story accurately that would be real news. . . .

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

Excuse me, I'm not a liberal and I'm not mad.

You’re definitely not a conservative.

I'm wondering what this man's qualifications are - this man who:

had to submit his federal disclosure form for security clearance three times.

I guess none of us will know since this is all confidential.

He initially left a section asking about foreign contacts empty before eventually updating it to include more than 100 names. The Washington Post alleged that he listed the dates of his graduate degrees incorrectly and did not include the address of his father-in-law, President Trump.

Exactly, Alledged, so we should be more careful before condemning this man without a shred of evidence to fully support those allegations.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Because if he fired Rosenstein then we gotta listen to liberals for another 2 years screeching about obstruction of justice again.

Better to keep him there and use Congress and the law to force him to do his job honestly . Then when that’s all done you fire him if the IG shows evidence he should be.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

No, but it is the most conservatives on this forum which have posted hundreds of comments against the FBI even calling them corrupt and liars.

Which is true. Call me as right now Loring up and Clapper and Brennan are contradicting themselves and more and more of those contradictions are being questioned by the SD, McCabe was fired, Strozk was fired, so now that we know these people are corrupt as can be, the distrust in intelligence agency is growing day by day, of course the majority of the rank-and-file agents are good hard-working people but the top echelon, completely corrupt.

When it comes to politics many Americans have a tunnel vision, conservative/liberal, democratic/republican, left/right, capitalist/socialist, rightwing/leftwing.

That’s a broad statement, you could send it that anybody anywhere of any country.

If Rosenstein is in on it, why doesn’t Trump fire him?

I don’t want to speculate, I am not in his head, but he is within his constitutional rights to do so, but I don’t think that will happen, because this witchhunt is coming to a close very soon, so there’s no need for it.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Yes, they obviously want to remove the President and overturn the results of the election. Even when Bill Clinton was impeached, the people were not going to stand for that. You accept the results of the election and move on to the next election. You do not usurp or undermine the sitting President by misusing the intelligence agencies to spy.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

The president must have pulled some strings for his son-in-law.

You don’t know that and actually, the President can’t unilaterally give the ok as granting favoritism for security clearance would be a conflict of interest.

It makes no sense for the government to restore Jared Kushner’s top-secret-level security clearance after all of the revisions he made to his SF-86 form used to gain a security clearance and retroactively reporting interactions with foreign officials, including Russians.

Oh, here we go.....

While you're at it, might as well give Sergey Kislyak a security clearance.

Liberals are so funny. ROFL

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

Yes because all of the high level people who were committing crimes and paying for spying and trying to influence elections have been fired. The FBI itself has never been the problem.

So liberals hate the FBI again just because they cleared Kushner?

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

So the conservatives now like the FBI?

Conservatives always liked and for the most part trusted the FBI, they just don’t trust Rosenstein, Comey, Page, McCabe, Strzok and Clapper.

There's more to the political spectrum that conservative or liberal.

Yes, but you are not a conservative and you’re not an American, therefore you cannot partake in the political process which is very complicated anyway. You can always comment on it, but that’s about it.

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

If that’s important here, Who elected Clapper, Brennan or James Comey?

And thanks to liberals he can identify as a woman if he likes. How dare you assume someone’s gender.

-12 ( +1 / -13 )

The address of his father in law? It’s “The White House”. Would anyone reviewing his form NOT know that? You guys get so petty sometimes.

He doesn’t need to be elected or confirmed as the President can appoint whoever he wants for this job. That’s the “cool” thing about winning the election, you get to appoint people to things.

-13 ( +0 / -13 )

Knew this would make all the liberals mad. Guess he can actually do his job now. Or is mueller still “coming for him”?

lengthy FBI background check

sounds all good to me.
