Filing doomed lawsuits is about the only business this guy seems capable of succeeding at. Winning lawsuits, on the other hand….

Trump was fundamentally misunderstanding the Constitution

What!?!? No! Say it ain’t so! The only way I could believe that is if I had functioning eyes, ears, and a brain!

8 ( +19 / -11 )

Poor little Trumpyclown wants attention.

What a pathetic whiner.

illegal, shameful censorship of the American people,

Since when has the Sun King cared about anyone except himself?

18 ( +31 / -13 )

While conservatives often claim the sites are biased against them, several recent studies have found that isn't the case. Indeed, posts by conservative commentators like Ben Shapiro, Franklin Graham, Dan Bongino and Dinesh D’Souza are routinely among the most widely shared on Facebook.

Just like with this collection of grifters, Trump is looking for donations for another lawsuit that will go nowhere,

I think there is is significant overlap between Trump supporting conservatives and those that donate to mega-church televangelists whenever they pray for a new private jet.

8 ( +16 / -8 )

Go away Donald, nobody likes you.

9 ( +25 / -16 )

He forgot TikTok. Oh! it's China!

9 ( +15 / -6 )

Why not? People have been wrongfully accusing him of Russian collusion, racism, insurrection, and trying to sue his companies.

Looking forward to dems escaping their safe spaces and coming here to rant too.

Crushing it Don!

-26 ( +12 / -38 )

A stupid lawsuit from a stupid man.

It’ll get laughed out of the courts like his election lawsuits!!!

15 ( +26 / -11 )

It’s not a surprise donald is using the lawsuit to raise money.

That man has serious money problems!!!

13 ( +21 / -8 )

TrumpyClown cannot do anything productive so he is going after the people who call him out. Facebook and Twitter. Go away already TrumpyClown.

Life goes on and you are history.

6 ( +16 / -10 )

The gift that keeps giving. What’ll he say when the case gets tossed? I guess ‘Big Tech’ will have paid off the judges, right?

Cant wait.

10 ( +14 / -4 )

It's great we only have to hear from this noise clown and his broken syntax once every few weeks now.

9 ( +15 / -6 )

Calling out censorship by the corporate Left is always a good thing.

-15 ( +10 / -25 )

Notice how Trump always has a couple of black people in the background of his photo ops? Same as at his rallies. The crowd is 99.9% white yet there will always be a couple of black people behind him - often wearing "Blacks for Trump" t-shirts.

11 ( +16 / -5 )

Trump people are just jealous because they can't build a decent social media platform. Look at how many times they tried and failed and/or hacked. Their social media is run about as well as Trump ran the COVID-19 fight (with Mr. Clean injections) or building the wall (where you can go over with shovels)

6 ( +14 / -8 )

Former President Donald Trump imitates the shooting of a gun with his finger while talking about gun violence in Chicago

I didn’t watch this one. Did he make the ‘bing bing bing bong’ noises again too?

8 ( +13 / -5 )

Why not? People have been wrongfully accusing him of Russian collusion, racism, insurrection, and trying to sue his companies.

Looking forward to dems escaping their safe spaces and coming here to rant too.

Crushing it Don!

I definitely agree. It’s about time and long overdo. Good on him for not laying and taking it. This should take off well. Because now that this going to the courts, they will have to determine if they are exercising their 1st amendment as a private company or if they violated others (particularly conservatives) 1st amendment rights based on bias, political affiliation or if they have become an extension of the governments arm to eliminate to push a political agenda or to purposely silence another. This goes beyond Trump and for the 3 big dogs to change from social network platforms to political watch dogs is very concerning. A while back Supreme Court Justice: Clarence Thomas did voice concerns about the overreach of the tech giant’s and how they have morphed into a platform that has shown to be increasingly hostile to Conservatives and blocking or deleting anything that they don’t like, but allow anyone on the left to say whatever, however they want and to whomever they want with very little impunity or repercussions. If this class action suit goes forward, there going to hear a lot of stories from different people and this could start the ball rolling to push for reform and to break up the monopoly that these 3 companies have. Good on the former President.

-21 ( +7 / -28 )

This goes beyond Trump and for the 3 big dogs to change from social network platforms to political watch dogs is very concerning.

He also wanted the Feds to do something about SNL and Kimmel. He’s equally as concerned about comedy.

Television networks aren’t political? Going to sue them too?

Or is this all just because his delicate ego can’t handle being snubbed? Yeah, actually that’s it.

This case will produce nothing except a few more chortles for me with my morning coffee. Keep crushin’ it!

13 ( +18 / -5 )

“But what makes this meta-insane is that he’s claiming that the Facebook was a FEDERAL state actor because it was entangled with the FEDERAL government at a time when HE WAS PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.”

Apparently lawyers who graduated from trump University filed the lawsuit.

10 ( +16 / -6 )

The funny thing is donald is using other people’s money to file a lawsuit he knows will get thrown out in a jiffy.

I feel sorry for his gullible flock who get poorer each time donald throws a tantrum!!!

11 ( +16 / -5 )

how they have morphed into a platform that has shown to be increasingly hostile to Conservatives

No. Conservatives have morphed into a rage-fueled hate and conspiracy machine, that's the problem.

7 ( +14 / -7 )

Calling out censorship by the corporate Left is always a good thing.

But…But I thought conservatives were against government interference in Big Business. If it’s hard for you to understand, you can always imagine Twitter et al as a Christian bakery and Trump as a gay couple who wants a wedding cake.

10 ( +16 / -6 )

Notice how Trump always has a couple of black people in the background of his photo ops? Same as at his rallies. The crowd is 99.9% white yet there will always be a couple of black people behind him - often wearing "Blacks for Trump" t-shirts.

Liberals always, always have to make everything about race. If there were no black people there, you guys would say, see look at the sea of whites, no color, no diversity, this is all about Trump and whites and so on and so on…

He has blacks in the background they’re tokens. Kind of like when the Dems attacked Tim Scott as a token Republican. This is really pathetic and sick comments always emanating from the left. Yes, you have black conservatives, yes, you have black conservatives that love Trump, get over it. Stop with the race baiting. Blacks don’t belong to the Democrats, they’re all individuals and they all vote differently, you can’t and shouldn’t judge, denigrate or pigeonhole anyone because of their color, that is the very definition of racism.

Facebook: "your honor, here is a copy of our terms of service"

Judge: "Case dismissed"

Many countries are also suing or thinking about suing social media giants for unfair censorship and freedom of speech violations.

Really? Many countries are suing social media companies for censorship and freedom of speech violations? Name them.

rump’s still working for the people even when he’s not in office.

Ah yes, by whining about his rights being "violated" he's again working hard for the people. Just as hard as he worked for the American people by golfing 3 or 4 days a week. Yep.

This move holds more weight than all the progressive

lmao How does this "move" hold weight?

10 ( +16 / -6 )

Many countries are also suing or thinking about suing social media giants for unfair censorship and freedom of speech violations.

They aren’t violating free speech, they are exercising their own free speech by choosing who is allowed on their platform. It says it in the article.

You know, reading these comments, I’m starting to realize why most Americans fail the citizenship test they give to immigrants…

9 ( +15 / -6 )

not having any media standards in the USA unlike other nations is destroying their country. Will need to have entitled ignorant Americans pass a fact test, then when they fail deny them social media. Would clean out all the junk

"Will you shut up, man?" . . . Joe Biden to Trump during debates

Trump, the worst president in U.S. history. There should be a law or a special test to prevent lying snake oil salesmen like Trump from ever holding any kind of public office.

16 ( +18 / -2 )

No. Conservatives have morphed into a rage-fueled hate

I have heard nothing but "rage-fueled hate" for the past 4 years from the Liberals. Why do only YOU have the right to speak your opinion ?

-14 ( +3 / -17 )

They aren’t violating free speech, they are exercising their own free speech by choosing who is allowed on their platform. It says it in the article.

While silencing conservatives of they say anything they don’t like, but allowing liberals to say anything they want, to whomever they want, with little or no repercussions, that censorship and its purest form or political selective censorship if you will.

You know, reading these comments, I’m starting to realize why most Americans fail the citizenship test they give to immigrants…

What? Lol

"Will you shut up, man?" . . . Joe Biden to Trump during debates

Yeah, well he didn’t and laughing all the way, he won’t and good on him for not taking it.

-17 ( +5 / -22 )

That's good! Those that have only suspended him up to now can then permanently ban him... and he will only have a failed blog to cry on.

10 ( +14 / -4 )

that censorship and its purest form or political selective censorship if you will.

Who cares? Facebook has every right to censor whatever they want. Don't like it? Get off Facebook.

11 ( +14 / -3 )

Just another grifter ploy to play the victim and squeeze more cash out of the rubes he preys on.

10 ( +14 / -4 )

Has this race to the bottom not finished yet? Which of Trump's children is going to flip on him first? My money's on Ivanka.

12 ( +17 / -5 )

One point missing: Trump is also asking for donations. He wants your money. I think that is really the main thing.

8 ( +13 / -5 )

The former Insurrectionist-in-Chief is just preaching to his choir and wasting the judicial system’s resources and time with one of many frivolous lawsuits.

"Why not? People have been ..." (cont. p94)

I definitely agree.

My eyes glazed over when I saw the other twenty or so lines, but do you think he'll win the cases? I personally wouldn't ever consider going to court and wasting everyone's time and money, the court's and my own, if I didn't think I had a better than even chance of winning. What chance do you think Trump has?

6 ( +10 / -4 )

Why do only YOU have the right to speak your opinion ?

"Trump is an overweight incompetent idiot" is an opinion.

"Joe Biden is a bumbling fool who can't govern" is an opinion.

"Vaccines kill people" and "The election was stolen" are not opinions, they are lies that directly cause real violence and actual deaths. You should understand the difference.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

Liberals always, always have to make everything about race

Tucker always talks about Chicago, but Trump white people are the ones who shoot up schools and Walmarts. Should nationalize gun registry (Japan does it and it works) since guns just don't grow on trees. Realy, guns don't grow on trees Trump people - Science backs this theory.

This is a good move by Trump.

Yes, it's a good move by Trump to pay lawyers a thousand dollars per hour on his sucker supporters' (cult followers') dime with cases that will go nowhere. Again, Trump people can't build websites. They are not good at building anything...websites, walls, anything. And just like Trump's wall (with ladders, shovels, drones, etc) Trump social media has gaping holes where all the data can get syphoned out just as easy as an illegal can climb over with a ladder from Mexico. It's incompetence at its best. Trump never had any smart solutions. Want to know how well Trump can build a social media website? Just look at his walls built like swiss cheese for an indicator on that.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

Just an attempt to get some media attention and donations from his followers.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

"Trump’s political action committee was already raising money off the announcement by early Wednesday afternoon."

All you really need to know.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

great news! Its about time someone held these social media companies accountable.

-14 ( +2 / -16 )

That's good! Those that have only suspended him up to now can then permanently ban him... and he will only have a failed blog to cry on.

Not with this lawsuit. And seeing that the Republicans are likely to retake the House, Dorsey and he friends need to get ready for the storm that’s coming.

My eyes glazed over when I saw the other twenty or so lines, but do you think he'll win the cases?

in all likelihood yes, because this is not just about him, this is about conservatives in general

I personally wouldn't ever consider going to court and wasting everyone's time and money, the court's and my own, if I didn't think I had a better than even chance of winning. What chance do you think Trump has?*

A very big chance, Because he’s backed up by other plaintiffs

-14 ( +2 / -16 )

Class action lawsuit, not just Trump.

The courts can take the action that Congress is unwilling to take. Of course they wouldnt because liberals and Dems are almost never censored.

If social media is acting as an arm of the government and pushing partisan agendas, I feel the Supreme Court can take action on it. Clarence Thomas basically asked for this lawsuit to be filed a couple of months ago.

-12 ( +2 / -14 )

"Vaccines kill people" and "The election was stolen" are not opinions,

I have heard the former from both sides of the political spectrum. So the above quote is essentially your opinion or just choose to ignore.

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

Bass: While silencing conservatives if they say anything they don’t like

What's wrong with that? America needs liberals to censor conservatives if we don't like what you say. We're protecting America.

And did you read the article? Trump has no shot. The judge will agree that conservatives should live under the thumb of liberals and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

You know, reading these comments, I’m starting to realize why most Americans fail the citizenship test they give to immigrants…

Except the infrastructure they use to move their product, the fiber, switches, and computers are in many cases purchased by taxpayers in those huge omnibus bills that purport to bring the Internet to everyone at a low cost. These networks are highly regulated by the government. In other words, Google, Facebook, and Twitter didn’t build that. The people did too. Therefore they must treat the taxpayers equally. If you can’t understand logic I’m certain you will fail a citizenship test.

-11 ( +2 / -13 )

great news! Its about time....

...gullible Trump people see their hard earned currency going to lawyers making thousands per hour for a case going nowhere. Remember Trump people, this is your money going to lawyers and legal fees for a case that will not win. It's an indication that Trump and his people are jealous that Zuck and Jack can build reliable websites (I mean how they work) and the best Trump can come up with his (ha ha ha) From the Desk of Donald Trump (sorry, it's hard not to laugh). What a joke, and the joke is also on the sucker Trump followers paying all that money on this perpetual circus. Yes, keep the money coming Trump people. Trump will keep running this like Trump university (or Trump steaks....or his casinos)

Because he’s backed up by other plaintiffs

Yes, like MyPillow guy, And Alex Jones. A couple of solid people there who will really make convincing cases in court against Jack and Zuck.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

This case is a joke and his lawyers likely know it. If they don't, they are really poor lawyers.

First of all, the First Amendment protects Americans against GOVERNMENT limiting their free speech rights. It does nothing to limit private individuals and companies from doing so. If a person (I can think of several here) came into my home and started spouting conspiracy theories to my family, I would have the right to make him (it always seems to be a him) leave the premises. So to can a private company kick a person off their property or social platform for violating the terms of service. Courts at all levels and of all political leanings have a long history of upholding this understanding of the law.

Secondly, the claim that these companies are government actors since they at some point in time got some kind of certification or authorization from the government is just bonkers. By that theory, literally EVERY company in America would be a government actor. Again, either really bad lawyers or lawyers willing to put forth specious arguments for money.

Finally, even IF the case were not summarily dismissed (which it most certainly will be), the next step is discovery and you know what they say about discovery...... Trump could be put in a room with a whole bunch of lawyers from FB, Twitter, YouTube and Google and asked all kinds of interesting questions under oath. Questions like "What did you do immediately after your speech on Jan 6th? Were you watching on TV? Why didn't you take action on our platform earlier to stop acts of sedition against the legally elected government of the United States?

His answers could be fact checked and if he lies under oath (which he is incapable of NOT doing) he has committed a crime for which he could be prosecuted.

My take, he knows this will get laughed out of court, doesn't care that his lawyers could in fact face sanctions for filing such a frivolous law suit, and only filed to get some attention (and some money).

This the the former whiner-in-chief's chance to again play the victim to his "cognitively challenged" base.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Interesting that social media didnt censor anyone who brought up concerns about the illegitimacy of the recent New York elections.

Candidates and users were able to speak freely about their concerns about the voting totals, indicate their opinion that the count was incorrect, aggressively demand audits, everything. If that were not the case, that NY election could have been stolen, with no ability to force an audit to actually prove that test ballots were introduced into the systems. Public pressure allowed an immediate audit to be held, plus it was for Democrats so of course they wanted to do it.

Somehow all of that questioning of the Dem election results on social media was allowed, not banned nor called "insurrection" when a candidate didnt accept the results.

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

Trump files suit against Facebook, Twitter and YouTube

Somebody should. These companies are moving into nazi and Stalin type censoring patterns.

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

@RaynardFox

Winning lawsuits, on the other hand….

Unfortunately, Trump has a real chance at winning this battle. One key reason is that all his lawyers have to do is either prove a pattern of allowing such behavior as what they have banned him for, and then it becomes a case of inconsistent enforcement of their own rules and regulations. Sadly, these platforms have allowed too much in the past so the case will probably go in Trumps favor.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

“Frivolous class action litigation will not change the fact that users — even U.S. Presidents — have to abide by the rules they agreed to,” he said in a statement.

What is actually frivolous? Libs here have short and selective memories (too much CNN).

I remember Mueller’s investigation “did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.”

Cost taxpayers about $32 million. Any red-faced libs here outraged by that?

Except the infrastructure they use to move their product, the fiber, switches, and computers are in many cases purchased by taxpayers

Really? Which country is this? Because the US has the most expensive Internet in the world for developed countries (No. 10 - and to reference Japan is around no 35 with better performance especially upload speed). Do the American taxpayers pay for this.....? Or is it Comcast which is company that most of their customers hate. But in Japan I love my Hikari Internet. Is the above really accurate? So Americans pay more for subpar service. And in Japan you pay less for superior service. Is the above really true? Or is it just a Trump assumption? Because in Japan I can get 100Mbit/s upload and in the US you have trouble getting 10% of that (for a higher cost)

8 ( +9 / -1 )

even if Trump does "lose" this lawsuit, it will still lead to needed changes in Section 230 and the social media monopoly of these large companies who are basically an arm of the government.

You didnt notice that when the CDC (the government) said something, Twitter banned anyone who said a differing opinion? Based entirely on the social media platform deciding anyone who disagrees with the stated government opinion is engaging in disinformation.

Even more so when people were banned for saying the virus came from the Wuhan lab and then we find out later its at least likely that it happened exactly that way. Those people banned for speaking the truth will be part of this lawsuit and can claim damages. Cant prove they were right, but they also were not actively spreading disinformation either.

Kind of like this website when they mark things as Offensive/Vulgar when they are actually just not in line with the personal opinions of the moderators.

-11 ( +2 / -13 )

Somebody should. These companies are moving into nazi and Stalin type censoring patterns.

I expect MTG to make a similar comment in the near future.

Something about armbands and the Holocaust which she’ll apologize for the next day after already getting the morons who believe such nonsense whipped up into a further frenzy.

So predictable.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

even if Trump does "lose" this lawsuit

it will keep his followers excited and compel them to pay him more and more money. Open your wallets Trump people. It's all about Trump wanting more money from you.

likely that it happened exactly that way

Sounds like a Science fiction movie plot. Watching too much Walking Dead on TV (this is Science and NOT Hollywood Trump people)

Trump: "Yes, today I am suing these private companies for penalizing me for violating their terms of service"...

And I choose the great lawyer Rudy Giuliani to represent me....uh...wait...I take that back...he's been suspended from practicing law...and is under federal criminal investigation....

I choose the genius attorney Sidney Powell to represent me, even though she has stated under oath in court that no rational person should believe anything she says"...

Anyone else see a typical Trump deflection here? Excerpts from Wolff's upcoming book say Trump "praised Hitler" and called is supporters "the great unwashed".... Yep he'd sure want to deflect from that...

I wonder if any of Trump's hotel's high class dining rooms have a dress requirement for entry? Think they'd let someone in wearing a fur hat and horns?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

I agree, Trump is a genius...

At coming up with juvenile, absurd schemes to fleece his weak-minded flock out of their hard-earned money...

And even after its been exposed that these are all scams, they STILL send him money...

That's the definition of a cult...

10 ( +12 / -2 )

bass: until the pendulum swings the opposite direction and then liberals scream about their rights being stifled.

We would never let that happen. You're better off clicking your heels together and pretending you're living in the future where you always win and everything is perfect. But not today. Today men like Trump are helpless victims to us liberals.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

the entire liberal argument rests on this "but they are private companies". Are you sure? why do only SOME companies have Section 230 protection? could they be a different category because of that? their infrastructure is built with public money, so could be a public/private hybrid?

What if they are found NOT to be private companies due to their obvious partisan actions and banning of only conservative speech and also anyone who disagrees with the government mandated opinion.

its worth a Supreme Court challenge.

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg: Private companies should not censor politicians.

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

even if Trump does "lose" this lawsuit, it will still lead to needed changes in Section 230

This childish lawsuit certainly won't do anything to change section 230, but if it eventually happens, I don't think right-wingers fully understand what it entails. Most progressives are actually entirely for a reform of section 230 because it forces platforms to be completely accountable. Picture this: Dominion suing Facebook for any post alleging voter fraud. Pfizer suing Twitter for any post about vaccines killing people.

If you're whining about "censorship" on social media now, the changes to section 203 will turn it all up to 11. It will be hilarious.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

A sue-ball with no valid standing. Dismiss WITH prejudice, which means he can't bring a suit again.

Censorship isn't against any law, unless the USgovt does it outside a policy which holds community standards. Private and public companies are free to censor anything on their platforms, for any reason.

A tweet is effectively a letter to the editor for a newspaper. One each week gets published, probably with light editing. Is that censorship of all the other unpublished letters? Nope.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

its worth a Supreme Court challenge.

If Trump were able to build a good social media platform (and he can't just like he can't even build a wall without holes like swiss cheese) he wouldn't be complaining and on this frivolous lawsuit. Really, how many times has Trump tired to build social media and failed? It's not the courts' problem of Trump's inability and incompetence of Computer Science. It's just that Trump people are just not good with technology. That is why this will never win in court. The court will ask Trump did you build a social network? Trump will say yes. Court then what happened? then determine that Trump's efforts to build anything just suck really bad.

I'm going out on a limb and say that the rabid libs here tried to justify the Mueller investigation --with straight faces. Talked how serious the charges were that the president was being controlled by the Russians.

And also thought the collusion would definitely show Trump colluded with the Russians. You could feel it. You discussed it with fellow libs, in excited voices and full of anticipation.

-14 ( +1 / -15 )

While the judge is at it, he should have the lawyers who brought this sue held for 30 days in contempt, then convince the state bar societies to look carefully at their legal careers. There needs to be a "stupid penalty" for any lawyer involved. At least we know Giuliani isn't involved, on the paperwork. His license was suspended.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

From the man who brought you an insurrection, and many frivolous law suits alleging a stolen election, a failed university and the worst presidency in modern times.

Doomed to fail yet again.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Maybe I am missing something but Is the crux of the republican argument that these companies should be considered public entities that are restricted in the same fashion as the government? For example, in regards to censorship and the first amendment?

I mean, I am a communist personally, but I didn't expect Republicans of all people to be advocating for more government ownership of companies. I'm all for it!

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Dems are saying that in the infrastructure bill nonsense.

rich private companies use publicly funded roads and bridges, so they gotta pay their "fair share" by increasing taxes on them.

Twitter and Facebook use the public funded internet as their equivalent roads, dont they? so how about some "fair access"?

its not so obvious which way a court will rule as liberals hope. Its not JUST Trump either. you forget its class action lawsuit with 1000s of plaintiffs.

-16 ( +1 / -17 )

Former President Donald Trump has filed suit against three of the country's biggest tech companies, claiming he and other conservatives have been wrongfully censored. But legal experts say the suits are likely doomed to fail, given existing precedent and legal protections.

How many court cases has the ex President lost now? Have you been keeping count?

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is intrigued.

Thomas compares social media and other internet companies to utilities acting as “common carriers” or places of public accommodation, and lays out the potential for them being subjected to special regulations that would require them to allow everyone to access their services.

But legal and policy experts who reviewed the opinion pointed out in interviews with USA TODAY that such companies aren’t treated that way now.

“He doesn’t say it’s unconstitutional,” said Mark MacCarthy, nonresident senior fellow in governance studies at the Brookings Institution. “He says it might be unconstitutional if it were invoked to pre-empt a state law that gives users rights to be carried on social media.”

If it were invoked to preempt a state law....hmmm...like the state law Florida just passed that is being preempted now? Arent treated that way now, agreed.

Doesnt mean that treatment cant change. thus the lawsuit to trigger that change.

-12 ( +1 / -13 )

Blacklabel: so how about some "fair access"?

Nah. We choose not to.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Also good lawsuit to keep this issue in the news to become a huge election issue next year.

causes Dems to have to take a clear position in favor of Section 230. Just only to maintain the Anti-Trump resistance position. Dems now have no choice of position.

Also shows Dems have no interest in “fairness” as a concept. Bad political optics.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

OK Trump fans. here is the dress code for entry to the Trump National Golf Course Westchester;

Men are required to wear shirts with collars and sleeves ( turtleneck or mock turtleneck shirts are permitted). Slacks or mid length shorts must be no shorter than two inches above the knee. Shirts must be tucked in and hats worn forward-facing.

Women are permitted to wear dresses, skirts, slacks, mid length shorts (see above), and blouses.

Trump National Golf Club does not allow jeans, tee shirts, tank tops, swimwear, cut-offs, warm-up suits, sweatpants, or athletic shorts while using golf or dining facilities.

https://www.trumpnationalwestchester.com/golf/guest-info

So what's the deal? Trump is saying Facebook and Twitter can't exclude him for violating their terms of service, but Mr Proud Boy or Oath Keeper showing up in jeans, "Q" T-Shirt, tactical vest, and carrying a Confederate flag sure isn't getting into Trump's executive dining room...especially if their hat is on backwards...

Should take the judge about one second to decide this case...

4 ( +6 / -2 )

causes Dems to have to take a clear position in favor of Section 230.

Again most democrats have already called for a reform of section 230, from Biden to Bernie. What are you even talking about?

6 ( +7 / -1 )

I'm going out on a limb and say that the rabid libs here tried to justify the Mueller investigation --with straight faces. Talked how serious the charges were that the president was being controlled by the Russians.

Geez, that's a pretty transparent weak deflection attempt - even for a Trump supporter...

Point out where in this article the Mueller investigation is mentioned?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Again most democrats have already called for a reform of section 230, from Biden to Bernie. What are you even talking about?

which they cant do anymore. Because they MUST be sufficiently anti-Trump.

Great election strategy from Trump that all Dems now have to run in the elections as being pro-censorship. No Dems can be for reform of Section 230 now, as they will be seen as supporting the basis behind the Trump lawsuit and agreeing that he and the other participants in the class action have been treated unfairly.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Great election strategy from Trump that all Dems now have to run in the elections as being pro-censorship.

What a bizarre line of thinking.

Anyone else see a typical Trump deflection here? Excerpts from Wolff's upcoming book say Trump "praised Hitler" and called is supporters "the great unwashed".... Yep he'd sure want to deflect from that...

Can you show me where Wolff's book is mentioned in this article? Or is this just a deflection?

Wow---seems like a pre-BLM protest with all these emotional libs getting riled up. Hope no jewelry stores or drugstores get looted in the process.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

I'm going out on a limb and say that the rabid libs here tried to justify the Mueller investigation --with straight faces.

You act as if Trump was cleared by the facts, rather than by his party selling out the people in order to maintain power.

There was no trial. Trump placed a croony as the head of the DOJ who covered up the details of the report, put out spin, then had the party with more votes decide to protect him.

There was no hearing of the evidence. The only evidence is the Mueller report which clearly would have made him guilty in a court of law. He was only cleared politically, not legally.

Next you guys are going to try to pretend he didn't steal the election with massive fraud in 2016.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

no, I want these companies to be forced to allow free speech from all users regardless of political affiliation. and to not be able to act as an enforcement arm of the government approved narrative by banning anyone who disagrees. You do know that "the government" has a social media presence on these platforms too, dont you?

That is not censoring them in any way by forcing them to let people speak freely. Unless liberals have no changed the meaning of the word censorship too?

censor these companies

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

Its like watching a child throwing their toys out of the cot, after being sent to the cot for being naughty in the first instance.

which they cant do anymore. Because they MUST be sufficiently anti-Trump.

Hahahahahahaha you're so silly sometimes :)

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Blacklabel: I want these companies to be forced to allow free speech from all users regardless of political affiliation.

And we've already said no. Liberals need to keep conservatives under our thumbs. It's just the right thing to do for God and America.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

If conservatives could create platforms even 25% as attractive as these, conservatives could take their business to those platforms.

They tried, but Google and other liberal platforms kicked them off.

Let the market conservatives lives so much punish these private companies.

In order to level the playing field and not just give voice to the left only.

These private companies should be free from governmental interference

Conservatives should be free from big tech along with big government to stop free speech on the right.

Forcing these private companies to broadcast those with which it disagrees is a violation of the companies’ free speech rights. The private company, not being a governmental entity, cannot violate anyone’s free speech rights.

Then these companies need to make it clear if they are a social platform or are they an extension arm of the Democrat party.

This really has our “conservatives” in an uncomfortable place

Yes, because if it were the other way around the left would blow a fuse and rightfully so. Look at Tucker, because he’s inaccessible and not on the platform liberals can take him off of, they try to go further and take more devious measures by trying to use the NSA to silence him, so basically, conservatives are not allowed to say anything unless the left approves it. I pray Trump is successful in this. This is gone far enough.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

I enjoy seeing everyone here get bent out of shape "discussing" Trump, Biden and/or their party of choice.

Politics is fun!

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

the tech tyrants are out of control. For the left to ignore this is dangerous and will hopefully someday come back to bite them.

Basa4Funk- I applaud you for pointing out all the obvious that the left blindly seem to ignore. Whether it’s ‘Ignorance is Bliss’, influenced by an EXTREMELY biased media, tech tyrants, indoctrinated by academia, TDS, etc. the left seems to be winning this current situation in the political environment in the US. Over time the left has worked methodically to get to the position. Kudos to them. Unfortunately, The conservatives will have to play the same dirty games if they want to gain some ground in the coming years. Obviously, doing what’s right, believing in god, and just being a good hard working person and expecting evil to loose out in the end will not do the trick

Nah, this will never happen to me.

Just like being denied housing or getting pulled over for being Latino would never happen to you.

Surely you can see how being on the winning side would make one support the system, right? You just happen to be the victim in this scenario and now you're angry.

Shall I start the fist pumping now or would that make me less of an American?

5 ( +7 / -2 )

That's what CNN is saying? Thanks; haven't watched it for a few weeks.

What's this? A Trump person watching CNN? I never watch CNN or FOX

Conservatives should be free from big tech

They are! They just suck at building their own platforms. Trump is a crybaby about it and trying to sue his way out of his failure using his supporter's money

They tried, but Google and other liberal platforms kicked them off.

If you are a Trump person why go to Google, you should be searching for your info on FOX News, Alex Jones, and NRA TV. Google is NOT the Internet. It's just a website. No one owns the Internet. I don't search for my info on Alex Jones, so why should a Trump person use Google to search for Trump info?

no, I want these companies to be forced

Not up to you or Trump. It's up to the courts and they will say NO and Trump can then build his next social media failure and then blame Hillary again, the vicious circle. Again, Trump had his chance with his From the Desk of Trump but he failed just like his wall. Maybe Trump should hire some real software engineers and pay them (unlike with Juliani) for their professional services. It works well for other Internet companies. Then maybe the Trump network will have a chance.

“time is on my side.”

Trump is in his mid 70s and very fat. Is time on his side? Who is his his replacement?

Trump people are just jealous because they can't build a decent social media platform. Look at how many times they tried and failed and/or hacked.

Rubbish. Parler was crushed by monopolistic activities and the collusion of the largest companies in the space to deny them access to the internet. Anti-trust laws would address this, but US "liberals" no longer care about big companies colluding with each other and the government to crush little companies - if they ever did. This is the very definition of fascism - with popular support.

Are sociopaths a recognized class?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Parler was crushed by monopolistic activities

WRONG!

Porn sites can even run a decent business. and no one is shutting them down - they are going strong unlike Trump sites. Also, look how easy it was to hack Parler due to their incompetent Trump developing staff. Again, this proves the incompetence of Trump and his people. For one, Trump doesn't pay real salaries and just expects people to work under him like he's their cult leader (Like Julioni). And the result is a very very poor job of building Trump based social media (and not just once but over and over)

5 ( +8 / -3 )

They know that's what the libs live on.

They think that's what "the libs" live on. But "the libs" have been openly making fun of CNN since operation desert storm, and still think it's a terrible excuse for a news channel now.

One wonders why if Trump is as wealthy as he claims to be (he isn't) why he would need to fund raise on this "law suit"? Why doesn't he pay his legal fees himself? (I could not type that without laughing.)

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Yet another Fun Fact: By checking the box on FB's TOS, Trump agreed that he could only sue in California. He is suing in FL. Either he (and his lawyers) are too stupid to read the TOS, or they are filing this SLAP suit knowing that it will get thrown out on both jurisdictional and material grounds.

Then they can play the victim and griff his cult.

They will never re-file in CA. This is a clown show pure and simple.

It's the Fox News far-right hive mind - they have Hannity, Carlson, Ingraham and Pirro swimming inside their heads...

That almost makes me feel sorry for them...

Get back to CNN -- it is a safe space and will cheer you up!

Chris Cuomo or Don Lemon?

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

Let me guess, you think those companies should be forced by the government to carry products they don’t want to carry.

No, I think these companies should not operate on the political agenda in order to get kickbacks so that these companies can operate with impunity.

Conservatives can also. Hold those platforms, if they are capable.

they try to do that, and then once again the liberals destroyed that, so this is the only other way and again I would feel the same if they did it to the left, this can’t go on and it won’t go on

Grab your bootstraps and pull yourselves up

And that’s what Trump did exactly! He decided to go for the jugular and grab the bull by the horns.

I think three examples suffice to illustrate the ignorance that tries to pass itself off as wisdom on JT.

The publicity the lawsuit will give Trump is EXACTLY what he wants. A repeat of the 2016 campaign. I don’t wish him success, but he’s got political savvy.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

Well no, with these platforms and big tech want from conservatives, is they want to put regulations on what we are allowed to say and cannot say, while they can say and do and act as a please.

WRONG!

It's about the money:

The typical Google Software Engineer salary is $140,000 per year.

(News quote)

You think Trump is going to pay out those salaries to work on his social media websites? Trump doesn't even pay Rudy Giuliani. He'll stiff those software engineers six ways to Sunday and that is the exact reason why Trump can't do social media. It has nothing to do with censorship and 100% to do with how incompetent Trump is at building things. If I were a skilled software engineer from Stanford U. would I rather work for one of the famous tech companies with a real salary and millions in possible stock options or work for free for the "greater good" under the cult following of Trump like some Jehovah witness. It's all about the money and that is why Trump's projects are failures. He can't run a business like a real tech company (or any company). Even porn sites are flourishing and shows how badly skilled Trump is.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

As long as conservative platforms don’t adhere to their rules.

Trump can't get anyone to work for him because they are blackballed from any hiring opportunities. Proof:

Former Trump staffers are facing a 'job desert'

(news source)

This would include potential Trump software engineers and another reason (first is Trump would stiff them) why he can't get incompetent staff for anything. Can you imagine the embarrassment of going to a real company like Google with I worked for Trump on my cover letter compared to I worked for Obama or even I worked for GWB. Working for Trump makes you a loser

6 ( +6 / -0 )

bass4funkToday  09:24 am JST

...but do you think he'll win the cases?

in all likelihood yes, because this is not just about him, this is about conservatives in general

The article makes it clear that other conservatives are not facing similar restrictions.

*I personally wouldn't ever consider going to court and wasting everyone's time and money, the court's and my own, if I didn't think I had a better than even chance of winning. What chance do you think Trump has?**

A very big chance, Because he’s backed up by other plaintiffs

It doesn't change this fundamental fact though, does it?

Barrett said Trump was fundamentally misunderstanding the Constitution. “The First Amendment applies to government censorship or speech regulation. It does not stop private sector corporations from regulating content on their platforms,” he said by email. "In fact, Facebook and Twitter themselves have a First Amendment free speech right to determine what speech their platforms project and amplify -- and that right includes excluding speakers who incite violence, as Trump did in connection with the January 6 Capitol insurrection.”

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Simply put, Trump is too lazy and too cheap to set up his own platform so he is throwing himself a pity party at his cultist supporters’ expense.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

I definitely agree. It’s about time and long overdo.

and its going to fail miserably,

“The First Amendment applies to government censorship or speech regulation. It does not stop private sector corporations from regulating content on their platforms,” he said by email. "In fact, Facebook and Twitter themselves have a First Amendment free speech right to determine what speech their platforms project and amplify

Thanks to the Democrats.

wrong primarily republicans that fought decades ago that private companies cant be forced to air peoples free speech as its their own property, they can choose who can and cant use it.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

No, I’m blaming Democrats for getting in bed with big tech.

NO!

It's about the money. Big tech pays real salaries with stock options and Trump pays what? Just ask Rudy how much Trump has paid him. This is real business and not Trump's cult business. Any experienced company executive who flies private jets out of Narita should know this.

And does this mean that the Dems have much better business sense than Trump people? It sounds like it if Trump can't even get a decent software engineering team to work for him. Remember, professionals work for money and Trump does not pay his staff

6 ( +6 / -0 )

The publicity the lawsuit will give Trump is **EXACTLY what he wants. A repeat of the 2016 campaign. I don’t wish him success, but he’s got political savvy.**

oh like the 60+ lawsuits he lost over election fraud, his releasing his taxes which he lost,

Trump has lost nearly 90% of every case that has been sent to the SCOTUS, with a majority of conservatives on the bench. political savvy doesnt equal constitutional savvy

5 ( +5 / -0 )

And that’s what Trump did exactly! He decided to go for the jugular and grab the bull by the horns.

oh like the election was stolen and the capitol insurrection, how did that work out?

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Yes, this is why I think what Trump is doing is fantastic and should have been done a long time ago.

Doing what? Building social media? Or extracting money from his followers? He doesn't pay his staff and no one in their right mind would want to work for him (see news article about that). Again, how did the Dems make Trump fail at his blog? What exactly happened? What are the details? No details = Trump failed miserably.

I couldn’t agree more.

Defund the police really means reform the police and some Republicans have successfully done it like Chris Christie. If you consider that the USA has like 20x the incarceration rate of Japan. Things need to be reformed. What is the problem of defunding (which really means reforming) the police? It has been done successfully by the right before.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

The world's biggest victim

10 ( +10 / -0 )

No, they’re worried about not being able to have the same rights as liberals

What exactly does that mean? What rights specifically? If Liberals really have more rights than Trump people then why on earth would anyone want to be a Trump person. Liberals can own guns but Trump people are not allowed to own guns? What are the specifics? But I understand that Trump people might not be allowed to board airplanes since Tucker said the COVID-19 vaccine is poison. But airlines are private companies and they can do what they want.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

I think conservatives are more worried about the misinformation being removed because they are the main purveyors of it.

Is there anyone that doesn't think that? I'm pretty sure even the whiners know this is the case. They just don't want it said out loud.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Defunded means broken down and rebuilt. It doesn't mean eliminate the police force. What's wrong with that?

Defunded means to remove funding. "Defund the police" was the stupidest catch phrase anyone ever came up with, to the point that you almost have to wonder if the other team came up with it. Anyone can get on board with "improve policing". Only a moron would agree with defunding them.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Anyone can get on board with "improve policing".

Unfortunately "improve policing" might imply "give more money to the police" or "militarize their equipment", which has proven to be completely useless. "Defund the police" is indeed a woefully stupid slogan, but it actually means "Use part of the police funding to create structures that will be much more helpful than the police in dealing with certain situations, and stop sending to the police to handle stuff they're not trained for." Unfortunately it makes for a very long hashtag.

Trump people, do you think Biden wants to fire all the police officers (and this includes Secret Service) so the US as zero cops? Again, Chris Christie successfully "defunded" the police. More proof that Trump people are hung up on words like "Jew laser" and "Mr. Clean" (for COVID treatment). Get with the real world Trump people, "Defund" means something else in this case, just like "near miss" (with airplanes) means something else. The only exception is that if I don't like those results, the government should interfere with the free market until I get what I want.

Let me guess, you think those companies should be forced by the government to carry products they don’t want to carry.

Err, actually yes. As "platforms" under section 230 they explicitly define themselves as platforms and not as publishers. When they suppress content they dislike, they act as publishers. This has been explained many times, but maybe not on CNN and NYT.

Using your argument, would also approve of the phone companies to cut off calls that they think contain wrongspeak? They are private after all.
