Go for it, Joe!

So what, he's just doing what he should be doing.

Biden aims to vaccinate 70% of American adults by July 4
The U.S. is currently administering first doses at a rate of about 965,000 per day — half the rate of three weeks ago, but almost twice as fast as needed to meet Biden's target.
The headline says it all. Hats off to President Biden for making this his number one priority since his first day in office.
Hey J-Gov, you think you can take a page out of the US playbook so we can get our shots before this year ends?

US TOTAL CASES: 32,267,958 (+32,460 New Cases)
US TOTAL DEATHS: 574,679 (+404 New Deaths)
US CASES IN LAST 7 DAYS: 339,455
Ref: https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#cases_casesinlast7days
Zichi, the US CDC numbers say 404 new deaths. Where's the 1000/day coming from? Is that world-wide?
I come from a large family with many kids. One of my siblings has refused to be vaccinated, yet. Everyone else and all their kids have already been vaccinated - so 22 people have and 2 have not.
The 2 who haven't just aren't too concerned. Because the shots have to be thawed, I don't see how they will have walk-up injections. I'm thinking that the US needs to stop paying for the doses in 30 days - announce that so everyone who doesn't want to spend $40 out of pocket (2x $20), will get their shots sooner.
In the family, everyone had a reaction after the 2nd shot except me. I had zero discomfort. One of my other sisters was in bed for 3 days. Most just felt a little tired and "off" for 1 day after the 2nd shot.
Of course, if someone has medical complications which prevent vaccination, then they should get it. I have no problem mandating any of the approved vaccines as required for employment locations with over 10 people or entering any public venue with over 10 people - with the medical exception, of course. Seems like common sense. Not being vaccinated is selfish.
Happy Day
Biden lacks credibility. When you lack credibility, no one listens.
He needs to be clear and simple, not political.
Tell people that if they are vaccinated, the mask comes off. Instead, he and the CDC have ever-changing mask guidelines that are not based on science.

Truckers, teachers and school staff from the Canadian state of Manitoba cannot access vaccines at home but luckily the state of North Dakota is vaccinating them at the border.

For the people that want to get it, and trust it, great news.
Goodlucktoyou
His 70% plan may sound great in politics, but 40% don’t want it or want to wait a few years.
He’s going to send in the National Guard?

It seems 30% of people stubbornly refuse vaccine.

Herd immunity for Covid won't require 100% take-up.
If take-up is high for the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions that are known to be a concern, then that should be enough to lower the mortality to sub-flu levels. At that point, Covid will rejoin the ranks of other diseases that we simply live with.
Anyone who doesn't want to be vaccinated and then gets Covid, without serious health implications, is effectively vaccinated.
Offering cash or lottery tickets may be a simple solution. It may be cheaper and more effective than PR campaigns.
Air travel for holidays will require vaccine passports, which should persuade enough people to get jabbed. The threat of further lockdowns will also help.
Covid may just peter out in largely vaccinated communities, for want of hosts. It's a virus and should behave like one. It's likely that we will all need a booster in the winter, alongside a flu jab, to nail down any variants. By that time, the production bottlenecks should be reducing and the logistics of mass vaccination should be built into national health care systems.
The UK government is toying with the idea of replacing quarantine with a week of daily testing, which would make sense.
An easily transmissable strain that causes minimal health problems may become dominant. That could see the end of it. However, anyone thinking of artificially manufacturing such a strain should consider that a mutation of it could be the end of all of us.
For now, the vaccines are working where they are being rolled out. Japan needs to get a move on. If it vaccinates quickly it could emulate Israel, the UK and the US. If it takes much longer, it could emulate India.
bass4funk
Some and not just Trump voters. You have Trump haters as well that question this vaccine and good on them.
No, it’s different, trying to end a life of a child in its final trimester for the worst reasons and injecting someone with a vaccine that has caused death and health problems are very different scenarios and should be scrutinized to make sure the product is safe before putting the vaccine in a persons body.

Trump supporters praise his vaccines but at the same time say they don't work and won't take them...
That's like saying I like Trump but won't vote for him....

Being cautious and scrutinizing a questionable vaccine is equivalent to being ignorant, I take that comment with the heaviest pride, kudos
But they’re still performed in 5 clinics across the country and that shouldn’t happen.
bass4funk
Actually, it was liberals that were freaking out about this pandemic and browbeat Trump for not coming up with something to try and stop the spread of the virus. Well, he did that with operation warp speed, when you rush something bad things can happen. So while many conservatives supported what Trump was tasked to do, a lot of us worried about the effects of something that was rushed, now liberals are complaining about a drug we are skeptical about, a drug that Dems pushed for?
More like, go for it and eat the raw fish just don’t ask to try it
Well, unlike liberals we just don’t follow and believe the liberals holy grail.

you might want to actually look at some data. The narrative now is actually that white people are taking all the vaccines, leaving none for people of color. sorry to ruin your "story".

Uh-huh. Trump's supporters praise him saying he is responsible for the vaccines - yet Carlson says they don't work and half of Repub men refuse to take them....
So you give Trump credit for making something that doesn't work and his own supporters refuse to take because they think its dangerous? Explain that...
And who is right - Trump (who has taken the vaccine) or Carlson?
Cooked and prepared by Trump...but you refuse to take it...
Evidently you don't believe Trump either since you say his vaccine doesn't work and refuse to take it...
Trump and Melania have taken theirs - why do half of Repub men, including you, refuse it?

Well congratulations, you can now get those lies in real time if his handlers let him and/or the times he can put two words together.

That’s not on Trump, that’s on the scientists that put this vaccine together and given the severity of the situation and the Dems going “bleep” crazy because they wanted him to do something, he did, just don’t expect me to jump in an blindly inject without knowing for sure of the safety of this product, there you go.

Impossible
I never said that, I said I’m cautious and believe we can debate the pros and cons and side effects of this drug. We get it you hate Trump, I hate Biden and the idiot Democrats but you can still have a decent conversation on the downsides of this vaccine. You have to be an idiot to just listen to the lefts side ONLY on this issue.
Go back and scroll up. Stop asking me a dozen times when I already explained to you as to why I personally won’t take it, at least for now.

That's fine because it means I get more seating on the airplane since they won't allow anti vax Trump/Tucker people. I'm really glad Tucker is on the air to brainwash his viewers to refuse the "microchipped vaccine" that will make travel better for me.

That requires a little more explanation... Is Trump correct in saying it works or Carlson for saying it doesn't?
Who do you agree with?

Some people follow the safety guidelines and those people are helping to keep themselves and others alive and open up the economy.
Other people don't follow the safety guidelines which kills people and prolongs the shutdowns.
Not much more to say than that.

If 70% of Americans were vaccinated, 30% would not easily get coronavirus among crowd because herd immunity works and prevents infection. Biden is probably thinking about it. I'm not sure if herd immunity works against new variant.
bass4funk
scroll up, take your time and read my clear explanation and very detailed answer.
The lockdowns have been killing people as well.

Pretty much.

Trump and Trump influencers give lots of interesting detains about why the vaccine is dangerous which is good for better seating on the airplane. I'm happy that Tucker is on air to push against taking the vaccine...it will make travel more comfortable since Trump/Tucker people refuse vaccines and of course vaccine passports. Keep up the good work Tucker

I will give credit where it's due to this Administration for continuing Trumps vaccine rollout but their messaging and optics are where they keep botching things. Instead of guilting or strong-arming people into getting the vaccine...why not change the message to "get the vaccine - get your life back"?
It also isn't helping when the man (and woman) who are supposed to be in charge are still acting as if they are in mortal danger of getting COVID - even though they (and probably everyone around them) are fully vaccinated.

Suicides are up
Just like there’s no evidence that kids are at risk of getting this virus.

Well, unlike liberals we just don’t follow and believe the liberals holy grail.
nothing to do with being liberal everything to do with science. vaccines are 93% effective , deaths from the vaccine are so small that its almost zero. science shows that your far more likely to die from being
unvaccinated and develop serious long term health problems if you contract covid19
got to love science leaves the deniers screaming at the sky again
wtfjapan
So overlook suicides, not important and focus ONLY on COVID deaths I see.
US average yearly suicide rate about 45000, covid19 deaths in 1 year about 500000

Phizer was not part of Operation Warp Speed (seriously, this is the dumbest operation name ever).
Phizer was first to market with what seems to be the safest, most effective vaccine.
So much for the effect of the former guy, The man who oversaw more American deaths in 1 year than WWI&II COMBINED.
wtfjapan
Better get busy Joe.
averaging 1~2 million vaccines per day, 100million vaccinated in his first 100days, doing a great job so far
bass4funk
So I just shouldn’t worry about the 7%? This is why science should be seriously scrutinized.
But according to the science we don’t know that definitively if that’s true or to what extent.
No, it’s just liberals want people to follow and not challenge their one-sided scientific analysis
bass4funk
According to which source? Florida schools are open, most countries schools are open and these lazy teachers during a pandemic want to teach illegals, but not our kids? They can continue to stay at home. Biden and his wife really embarrassed themselves in front of those kids. I’ll get you he’ll never put himself in that position again. Kids are so honest. Home schooling doesn’t work, open the schools!

Iowa. Overall 50% of the population has been vaccinated. it is very rural and has numerous small towns with limited healthcare facilities.
The governor is essentially incompetent and embraces a curious ideology which defies rational thought, in terms of science and health.
However. There has been a highly successful and well-run, efficient inoculation program in Iowa City & Johnson county, at the University of Iowa Hospitals. Almost 60% of Iowa City has been inoculated.
Iowa, however is incredibly rural and the majority of fully vaccinated individuals are in the urban areas. Des Moines is the largest city with a population of just over 200,000. There are only three cities with a population of 100,000 or larger. Iowa, has a total population of approximately 3 million.

Of course the vaccines are the result of Operation Warp Speed.
Hmm, I thought the vaccines were the result of doctors and scientists laboring around the clock to halt the spread of the pandemic, but there's no disputing that Trump's prompt treatment for Covid and his sneaky valedictory vaccine were the result of "warp speed".

Wright was projected to win 19.2% of the vote, while GOP state Rep. Jake Ellzey with a projected 13.8% of the vote and Democrat Jana Lynne Sanchez with a projected 13.4% of the vote are locked in a tight race for the second-place spot.
The total split of votes in the first round of voting saw 60% go to Republicans and 40% to Democrats as Democrats face the possibility of being shut out of the runoff, in the longtime GOP district covering portions of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
