Sad. - Just having “hope” for their future, outside the U.S. seems to be VP Kamala Harris’s plan to deal with migration.

*- “Harris has said her goal is to offerhope” to residents of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Mexico for their future, so they no longer feel compelled to leave home for better opportunities.” *

Well, she is consistent. Her previous words were just “Do NOT come”.

It only took 92 days for her to go, but finally she’s going.

-Ted Cruz

600,000 + illegal crossings

463,000lbs + of drugs seized

Dozens of U.S. Senators and House members traveling to the southern border

And mounting pressure from the American people for Kamala to finally schedule a trip to the border.

Right on cue!

Yes

*Trump visited the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma.

We are talking about the US Southern border. We don't have illegals coming in and it's not stopping the mass exodus out of California

Yesterday, a very disturbing BBC report about immigrant children detained in Fort Bliss, Texas. Thousands are in tents. Undercooked chicken making the children sick. A mass outbreak of head lice. Many covid cases. Rapes of both young sexes. This must end.

You said this the other day and as bad as it is, this is what happens when defund and defang CBP and ICE and you expect the local governments to step in and for one they are not set up for the task, and second, they really don't want to, Texas and this is a fact care more about their citizens than the plight of people coming in over the Southern border that shouldn't be in the US especially the ones that have children. Now other states have to send resources and manpower to do the job of the Federal government, Harris is going to get hit with this question among others, this is a big opportunity for the GOP coming up next year, which helps a lot.

Timeline: Donald Trump's five visits to the border as president

Yes, because he made sure the CBP had everything at their disposal. ICE had the authority to end catch and release, no bond for repeat offenders, prosecute repeat offenders. Sending back the most violent criminals including gang members, sealing the border routes, putting more agents along the border. So there really wasn’t a need for him to visit when the very people that were tasked to patrol the border did their job unrestrained.

First, visit 214 days and only stayed at the Yuma base for 2 hours.

Again, I know it’s hard, focus on the border, the illegals are not coming in overwhelmingly from Yuma.

Trump's master plan to force Kamala to go to the border worked, excellent job.

Right on cue, Trump is mentioned in the 4th comment in the discussion. As a real estate guy, I am sure he appreciates the rent-free time he is currently enjoying.

As to the VP, good for her for taking the time. Pres. Biden handed her this tar baby of an issue, so she needs to at least appear to take it seriously. I don't think the current policy proposal makes sense. "People are leaving central American countries because their governments are corrupt. So, we will provide hundreds of millions of dollars in aid to those countries..."

The root cause of illegal immigration is a simple one- it is permitted. The Democrats would be better served by trying to reform the visa system and promoting a guest worker programme. At the same time, bring in harsh penalties on employers, who are taking advantage of these people.

who is responsible for this detention?

Will the VP visit this location and allow the media to accompany?

More importantly, what is and what will she do about this ongoing crisis.

Of course you realize that his second visit was also California, right? In fact he didn’t visit the Texas border until Jan 10, 2019! Almost three years after he took office. Oh, and wasn’t that for a rally?

-Ted Cruz

Spoken from Cancun....he bypassed the border and went directly to the Mexican resort...

600,000 + illegal crossings

463,000lbs + of drugs seized

What? I thought we had an impenetrable border wall that Mexico paid for?

Four years, 62 promises and "mark my word", and this problem wasn't fixed?

What a failure....

But but Trump. But but Ted Cruz.

Typical. There was no such crisis that needed urgent attention during the times you specify.

Neither person had been assigned by the President of the United States as THE person responsible to solve this issue.

Its no wonder she wants to go to Europe instead.

I'm in favor of real solutions that don't provide amnesty for breaking US laws.

I'm in favor of harsher penalties for violating the US border. $2K fine and deportation for the first offense. 2nd offense = lifetime ban from entering the US.

I'm in favor of actually going after anyone who provides someone illegally in the US with a job. $100K/per offense per year. If you've had a maid working for 2 yrs who is in the US illegally, that's $200K. If you have 50 workers in your animal packing plant, that's $5M per year in fines.

Make it hurt.

I am also in favor of seasonal guest farm worker programs provided the rates paid into the program are 2x what an American would be paid doing the same job. 50% of that foreign-worker overhead would be to train Americans for better positions and to run the program. This would apply for farm workers, to Google Fellows. 2x the salary that a legal resident would earn. No more importation of cheap labor.

But but Ted Cruz.

Tell your fellow Trump supporter - I just quoted his post...

Typical. There was no such crisis that needed urgent attention during the times you specify.

Huh? CARAVANS! CARAVANS! How soon you forget...

Neither person had been assigned by the President of the United States as THE person responsible to solve this issue.

Who said he'd build a wall, fix the border, and make Mexico pay for it....and didn't?

Its no wonder she wants to go to Europe instead.

At least she didn't run away to Cancun...

Of course you realize that his second visit was also California, right?

That has nothing to do with people leaving California in droves.

In fact he didn’t visit the Texas border until Jan 10, 2019! Almost three years after he took office. Oh, and wasn’t that for a rally?

Scroll back up, I already explained why.

I have a high fence along my house, it works, I also have dogs and they’re a great deterrent, but if I leave my door open and take my dogs with me, now my house it’s vulnerable to any attack,

Now if I’m home, have my dogs, my doors closed, I have my guns, no one would be stupid enough to try anything. Same analogy

Four years, 62 promises and "mark my word", and this problem wasn't fixed?

And the Dems did nothing

What a failure....

This administration, particularly yes

I see, after four years your home only has a wall around 25% of it...and you paid for it, not your neighbors...

Four years, 62 promises and "mark my word", and this problem wasn't fixed?

And the Dems did nothing

Who had the WH, Senate and House for two years - and did nothing...

What a failure....

This administration, particularly yes

"We'll build a wall, mark my words, mark my words"....
