Ivanka Trump's testimony comes less than a week after her husband, Jared Kushner, testified to the committee in a separate virtual meeting that lasted more than six hours. Members of the panel said his testimony was helpful and were hoping to further fill in the gaps with her help.

What did Vanks and Jared actually do during their years drawing a salary and profiteering from the American public? Did Jared bring peace in the Middle East?

Haven't seen the MAGA crowd attempt to justify that.

What did Vanks and Jared actually do during their years drawing a salary and profiteering from the American public?

Utter Nonsense

Did Jared bring peace in the Middle East?

He didn’t and neither this current administration.

Haven't seen the MAGA crowd attempt to justify that.

They weren’t trying.

Haven't seen the MAGA crowd attempt to justify that.

They weren’t trying.

And that... is why they fail.

As in being public servants and being a benefit to anyone in the nation besides themselves and cronies.

Once the Trump family is tossed in prison, the savings to the taxpayers will be immeasurable.

Since the DOJ has now included seditious conspiracy charges to members of Trump's domestic terrorist group it has become quite clear many more are involved.

The committee must question everyone in the Trump orbit while allowing the DOJ to file charges if the evidence supports the indictments.

Complicit. The new fragrance by Ivanka Trump.

*Once the Trump family is tossed in prison, *

That will never happen. The Dems tried feverishly to dig up whatever they could for 5 years and everything failed, if they couldn’t do it then, they won’t be able to do it now. But I get it, makes good for political theater.

Since the DOJ has now included seditious conspiracy charges to members of Trump's domestic terrorist group it has become quite clear many more are involved.

Interesting…

The committee must question everyone in the Trump orbit while allowing the DOJ to file charges if the evidence supports the indictments.

Yes, I hope so as well for the 4th time, good luck with that.

Waiting for the Big Guy!

It appears Ivanka and Jared have better lawyers than Dad and Junior....

But then again, anyone would be better than Crazy Rudy and Sidney "The Kraken" Powell...

I and J have concluded they "ain't going to jail for The Big Guy" and are cooperating....smart move, especially considering their young children.

One thing they did do that Dad would approve of - they didn't "plead the 5th" like "the mob"....or their brother Eric...

It appears Ivanka and Jared have better lawyers than Dad and Junior....

Outrageous! They have lawyers? Because of the US Constitution 6th Amendment??

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right . . . to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.

One thing they did do that Dad would approve of - they didn't "plead the 5th" like "the mob"....or their brother Eric...

Shocking!! Plead the 5th? As in the right protected by the US Constitution 5th Amendment???

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, . . . .nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself . . . . ..

Who do these people think they are? Americans?

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

One thing they did do that Dad would approve of - they didn't "plead the 5th" like "the mob"....or their brother Eric...

Which is their constitutional prerogative.

Indeed it is - however Trump thinks it's wrong, implies guilt, and is something organized crime figures do;

"If you're innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment," Trump said as a candidate in 2016...."The mob takes the Fifth," Trump declared.

https://edition.cnn.com/2018/05/07/politics/donald-trump-fifth-amendment-supreme-court/index.html

You agree with him?

Indeed it is - however Trump thinks it's wrong, implies guilt, and is something organized crime figures do;

So the left keep saying.

"If you're innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment,"

Doesn't mean you’re guilty either.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Ivanka and Jared breaking away from the trump is a smart choice.

Anyone who knowingly participated in the Jan 6th coup doesn't have a political future and ivanka still has delusions that she will be President in the future.

Once daddy dearest is in prison, the GOP is going to push this despicable family into the bin!

Once daddy dearest is in prison, the GOP is going to push this despicable family into the bin!

I disagree, theQGOP will continue to drag the swamps and bogs to find someone that fits their extreme right authoritarian beliefs, someone they can invite to one of their cocaine-fueled orgies as GOP Rep. from North Carolina Madison Cawthorn (speaking of an extremist) claims.

The big tent Party has been attracting the fringiest of the fringe since Trump took control and re-defined what a Republican is. The party has welcomed M-T-G, Coach Tuberville, Gym Jordan, Cancun Ted Cruz, Ron De Santis and so many other oddballs, they've appealed to some who claim Putin is a good Christian because he's anti-woke (meaning he like most Republicans today thinks whitewwashed myths should be taught, not actual factual history). And Putin is also anti-LBGTQ, appealing to the constantly afraid US males who cannot be anywhere without a weapon.

So the left keep saying.

Hmmmm, so now you think Trump is a leftist because he says taking the 5th is wrong and something "the mob" does. OK...some flip though....

"If you're innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment,"

Doesn't mean you’re guilty either.

Maybe - but Trump thinks so. Once more, you agree with him that taking the 5th means you're the same as "the mob"?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Ivanka and Jared breaking away from the trump is a smart choice.

Helps him and it helps them, indeed a smart move.

Anyone who knowingly participated in the Jan 6th coup doesn't have a political future

Whoa, doesn’t seem so, in fact, it would seem Trump’s number polls are moving up.

Once daddy dearest is in prison,

Will never, ever happen. That’s a promise

Ok, nice CNN source.

I absolutely agree based on your above link, that taking the 5th means you're the same as "the mob" when Trump was referring to Hillary, who was being investigated for her use of private email service when she was Secretary of State---those 30,000 emails ever show up?

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

So, the big question for Trump supporters....

Both Ivanka and Jared VOLUNTARILY agreed to be interviewed by and cooperate with the Jan 6th investigation committee....the committee chaired by Democrats and having on it the hated Adam Kitzinger and Liz Cheney....

The committee Chairman said Jared's testimony "was helpful and were hoping to further fill in the gaps"...and that Ivanka's testimony was "helpful" also.

So why aren't Jared and Ivanka "cowards and traitors" for VOLUNTARILY cooperating with this committee?

And if they are cooperating, why aren't Meadows, Navarro, and Eastman?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

I disagree, theQGOP will continue to drag the swamps and bogs to find someone that fits their extreme right authoritarian beliefs,

Like Freedom of speech, the second amendment, lower taxes, strong military, energy independence, yup, those radical GOP authoritarian beliefs

someone they can invite to one of their cocaine-fueled orgies

Ahh, more unverified leftist “claims” gossip.

The big tent Party has been attracting the fringiest of the fringe since Trump took control and re-defined what a Republican is.

Yes, America first politicians, how bad.

The party has welcomed M-T-G, Coach Tuberville, Gym Jordan, Cancun Ted Cruz, Ron De Santis and so many other oddballs,

Why do the left hate American lovers?

(meaning he like most Republicans today thinks whitewwashed myths should be taught, not actual factual history).

But the Democrats object? Why?

Utter Nonsense

I agree that Ivanka and Jared being White House staff was utter nonsense.

I’m surprised, though. For a long time when people called out their employment as nepotism, you defended nepotism and said that nepotism was good, actually. What changed your mind?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

I agree that Ivanka and Jared being White House staff was utter nonsense.

Depends on who you’re asking.

I’m surprised, though. For a long time when people called out their employment as nepotism, you defended nepotism

Yes

What changed your mind?

Nothing

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Anyone who knowingly participated in the Jan 6th coup doesn't have a political future

Whoa, doesn’t seem so, in fact, it would seem Trump’s number polls are moving up.

Thank you for accepting that Trump knowingly participated in the Jan 6 insurrection.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

I’m surprised, though. For a long time when people called out their employment as nepotism, you defended nepotism

Yes

So you think it would be a good thing if, for example, Hunter Biden used his father’s position for personal benefit? Because that’s nepotism.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

So you think it would be a good thing if, for example, Hunter Biden used his father’s position for personal benefit?

There’s a lot more to Hunter than we know. We don’t know now, but we are getting there.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

Back on topic please.

Got it: nepotism is good when it’s people you like, bad when it’s people you don’t. As consistent as ever.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Trump obsessives loving this one. No leaks yet of what was said?

it must have been very uninteresting stuff if Schiff cant find anything to misrepresent.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

I would be happy to see nepotism, cronyism, and generational politics all disappear. So no Bush senior and junior, no Bill and Hill Clinton, no family members on the payroll or hitching rides on government aircraft. More than 300 million people in America, surely there are others who can serve. Politics needs to be a service to one's country, not a service to one's bankbook. The formation of a professional political class is NOT what the Founding Fathers had in mind. Bring on term limits!

0 ( +2 / -2 )

So why aren't Jared and Ivanka "cowards and traitors" for VOLUNTARILY cooperating with this committee?

And if they are cooperating, why aren't Meadows, Navarro, and Eastman?

And no answers....

Come on, step up and give it a try - Ivanka and Jared voluntarily are cooperating with Liz Cheney and Adam Kitzinger....giving them information that everyone has said is "helpful" in highlighting the insurrection and coup....

Bannon refused....Meadows refused....Navarro refused....

So Ivanka and Jared must be "cowards and traitors", right?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

@Attilathehungry

Spot on, although I’d say Bush senior and Bill Clinton weren’t bad compared to most. Bush 2, Jeb! and Hillary Clinton were clearly awful.

Trump moving the kids in to positions of power was banana republic crap.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

And no answers....

Why?

Come on, step up and give it a try - Ivanka and Jared voluntarily are cooperating with Liz Cheney and Adam Kitzinger....giving them information that everyone has said is "helpful" in highlighting the insurrection and coup....

I think that is a fantasy detest conjured up out of the minds of the CNN pundits

Bannon refused....Meadows refused....Navarro refused....

They can’t?

So Ivanka and Jared must be "cowards and traitors", right?

It depends what n how you view it, some might call them that and others might be calling them patriots.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Trump moving the kids in to positions of power was banana republic crap.

agreed. But when you see how everyone was threatened, attacked or investigated for even offering to help or join, can see how that happened.

that’s one thing that needs to be fixed for Trump 2024. There is now a whole group who is used to being falsely attacked and doesn’t care.

If Matt Gaetz is Secretary of State, it’s Dems fault for scaring everyone else away with threats.

I see Schiff got COVID- so no leaks.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Jimizo, I agree. It was one of the things I liked least about the Trump years. Really showed his paranoia, perhaps justified in part considering how the media treated him, but paranoia nonetheless.

Need term limits for sure. There are 31 Senators who were first elected when Bush Junior was president or before, including one who was elected just months after Nixon resigned! The House aint much better with more than 50 Representatives from the pre 9/11 era. Only 11 are GOP surprisingly, the vast majority of the dinosaurs are Democrats.
