Has "socialist " maduro become a multi-billionaire yet like Saint Hugo before him? I guess that's the motivation to sell bugle.
The elusive "right kind of socialism " seems to only be good for the few at the top of the pyramid. For the rest, see Churchill's quote on the equal sharing bit...

I think we've learned from the coronavirus situation that you can't generally trust the public to act in their own best interest. Many will choose short-term pleasure over long-term wise decisions.

This was suspected years ago.
Salute to Barr and his team for doing what the worthless AG under Obama should of done years ago.

I guess they are competing against the CIA over the drug trade.
When all other attempts at regime change fail, that is indeed the only remaining option...

You make a fair point. The War on Drugs was around long before Trump ever came about, and has been a massive failure for decades. In fact, it's probably the biggest single failure America has on it's books. It's never managed to decrease drug use whatsoever - they're more prevalent than ever. How many trillions have been spent on this failure?
No, Trump is just carrying on a long line of failure. He didn't create it, he's just also failing at it during his turn at the wheel.

Our country has been screwed for decades....but of course it’s Trumps’ Fault.
Joe Blow
Venezuela is a failed state with people who can't eat, don't have jobs, and can't even get medical supplies.
And no, it's not America's fault. It's their fault for nationalizing industries and putting government cronies in charge of businesses they had no idea how to run. They couldn't even make toilet paper.
Just goes to show how well socialism works.

@Starpunk
You seem to have missed Grenada, Afghanistan and Panama, which were all illegal wars.

Yet ANOTHER excuse for yet ANOTHER stupid wasteful unnecessary war. Treasontrump just wants to distract attention from his FAILURES and ineptitude and his gross moral turpitude.
Haiti invasion - 1994 to reinstall Bertrand Aristide
Iraq missile attack - 1996
Air war against Iraq - December 1998
Iraq War 2003 - 2011
Haiti (again) - 2004 to depose Bertrand Aristide, go figure
Drop the bombs on an empty Syrian airfield because Putin told Trump to do it
Air assaults on Syria - with Putin's permission again
When will this absolute craziness and stupidity gonna STOP???

Oh, look over there at the shiny object.

While they are at it, they should indict MBS for his alcohol and porn smuggling ring.

Something must be working because 60% of Americans approve of the incompetent response. And in the spirit of better understanding, what exactly is the incompetence that is responsible for too many people dying?
RichardPearce
Future historians will use 'US indicts' as a marker for countries who's governments did the right things for their populations.
But the American regime needs to do something to distract people as its cover up of its Covid19 problem disintegrates.
Strangerland
Interesting squirrel, Trump is putting forth to distract from his failure as a leader during this time of crisis.
I don't think it will work this time. Too many people dying due to his incompetent response to the pandemic. It's hard to distract people from that.

Oh, Maduro needs to be careful, dudes been put on notice, now he has a Tomahawk with his name written all over it.
stormcrow
Pres. Maduro looks a lot like Pablo Escobar, doesn't he?
Chip Star
Try re-reading my post because I didn’t say Donny was responsible, I said his administration. Given Donny’s administration’s unprecedented meddling with the Department of Justice, it would be the indictments.
Kuya 808
Any details on that? What exactly is Trump responsible for? The indictment or the drug smuggling?

Syria and Iran: Russia's partners. Putin and his oligarchs have huge stakes in Venezuela's oil. As does China.
It's failed to reduce the drug problem. It has provided lots of jobs for those in enforcement and has increased the profits of weapons makers selling equipment to the government. It's been another way defense corporations have been subsidized by taxpayers.
Chip Star
The US needs to address its thirst for narcotics in order to actually make any difference. We know that the War on Drugs has been a total failure.
Chip Star
Donny’s administration is responsible for this. Why don’t you call him out by name?
Cogito Ergo Sum
Well, Uncle Sam needs a " few good men " . Any takers ?
