Why is the world so much against this Korean woman?

She made a mistake.

Nobody got killed.

She paid for her mistake.

If lack of class were a crime, the prisons would be groaning at the seams.

High Court overturned that decision, ruling that the return to the gate “did not constitute a change” of flight path.

Handing down a reduced sentence of 10 months, suspended for a period of two years, High Court judge Kim Sang-Hwan said the threat Cho’s actions had presented to the safety and security of the aircraft was “modest”.

Th high ciurt gave decision without conjecture. Hope she could behave normally so that her family owned airline can contribute to Korean airline business in future. She is eldest daughter so this airiline will be operated under her command sooner or later. In Korea, daughters can succeed her family business.

No kidding -- it's become a typical Japanese CEO or politician's sentence with the suspension and being let free. At least she had to serve for a short time. It is a disappointment though, you're right, but to be expected given the way those families are and the power the wield.

That was I mean WAS my favourite airline. I find JAL and Singapore staff incredibly arrogant so I am almost trapped here.

JAL goes above and beyond for me every time I take them. If I am late to the airport or have a reservation problem, JAL is always accommodating. Korean Airlines gives me a lecture and then walks away. Typical Korean customer service...

This was always a gross overreaction and nice to see reason finally prevail.

One has to understand the culture to realize that it really wasn't. Sure compared to a customer tossing a hot cup of noodles at a cabin attendant it might be minor, but she was the VP and SHOULD have shown more class.

“The accused had no intention of hampering the safe operation of the plane,” Kim said."

Maybe not, but the accused is guilty of being a total idiot, causing bad feelings and inconveniencing everyone on the plane and everyone involved with operations of the flight.

Well, that was quick. I expected they let her out soon, but not that soon.

So Korea also has one set of laws for ordinary people and another set for rich people. So I guess she will inherit all the money and have a fun life from now. She does not have to work.

Jail, preferably. Hopefully she would be in charge of serving nuts to other inmates.

At least let the staff she abused return the favour. Then it's the passengers's turn to tell her how they judge her stellar sevice.

She has been punished and fired from her job as well. What more do you expect?
