Yet more proof that guns should not be available to the insane extent they are in the US. What sort of loser would should someone dead over an argument?

Such an unbelievably dangerous nation anyone would be mad to visit the US.

Seems Florida has more pressing issues than suing Facebook. How about the ‘Freedom’ to go grocery shopping without being shot?

yet, it’s still the number one destination for Japanese who want to study English - mad indeed

Such a beautiful state: an (almost) perfect climate, inexpensive fruit & vegetables year-round, no income tax, …

… AND every, self-centered crazy person & entitled retirees escaping the rest of the crippled U.S.

Unbelievable. Makes no sense to me either. Willingly exposing oneself to extreme danger daily.

Living there can be reckless. Count your blessing you're here.

Around 50 people were offed yesterday in the US by gunshots and many more were only wounded and escaped alive. I wonder why report only on this not very special case?

For over 50 years in the US, I've never been shot at nor anyone I know. Imagine that. You two posters above need to look at things a little more realistically.

U live by the Gun, you will die by one, over and over again and again Guns are always the # 1 choice for most acts of violence, it takes balls to stab but it take no efforts to aim and fire a gun, and when it only costs $250.00 to own one then you can guess who is getting it.

An argument in the checkout line of a South Florida grocery store escalated into a fatal shooting, as other shootings around the state took place in a sports bar and a banquet hall.

It also applies to the rest of the 49 states..

What can you expect from such a backward and belligerent country that idolizes weapons and abuses the stupid second amendment just to be able to shoot whoever thinks and acts differently for the love of their fake "freedom"??..

What a wild and dangerous country to live in..

No matter the state, in any town or city you are exposed to someone shooting at you..

Third world..

… AND every, self-centered crazy person & entitled retirees escaping the rest of the crippled U.S.

The rest of US is in the same condition, there is no escape..

Sounds like that whole stand your ground thing is so working for the folks in Florida. I'll bet they feel safer than ever before.

It takes a REAL man to own a gun and respect it, it takes a coward to use it on innocent people.

And this is a surprise? Red States pass laws allowing anyone to carry a firearm without any training, certification, or background check....it's "Gun's for All"....

"Freedom" to solve your road rage, checkout line insult, or bad order at McDonald's with your 9mm....

It's utter craziness...

Be careful when you get into an argument in America.

When I was about to go to a movie theater in Texas, I asked someone if it was safe. "Well", he said, "last week a couple of guys were harassing a couple during a film inside of the movie theater and the boyfriend got angry and told them off. The two guys waited outside for the boyfriend after the movie in the parking lot and one of them shot and killed him right there."

Be careful when you piss off anybody you don't know in America even when you're in the right or your defending your girlfriend's honor. An armed idiot with a gun will shoot you just for hurting their feelings.

Speed:

For over 50 years in the US, I've never been shot at nor anyone I know. Imagine that.

Around 20000 people get murdered every year in US (about 50 a day). Statistically every American citizen has a 5 times higher chance of getting killed by a gun that everywhere else in the modern world. You individual case doesn't change from this reality much and you trying to delude yourself like this is called confirmation bias.

(correction)

In 2019, the US gun homicide rate was 18 times that of other developed countries. There were 39,707 deaths from firearms in the U.S. In 2019, 23,941 people in the U.S. died by firearm suicide, 14,861 people died from firearm homicide, accounting for 37% of total deaths from firearms.

Okay, Coral Gables, Fort Lauderdale, and Orlando.

This is a pretty bad written article. Lauderdale and Gables are just about 40 minutes apart in a the highly dense Miami-Dade county.

Orlando is over 3 hours away and is the seat of a second metropolitan area. This is like saying there was a shooting incident in Tokyo, Yokohama, and just outside of Nagoya (which is not affiliated with Tokyo) then saying that the whole Honshu is dangerous. Please keep things in perspective.

Angry entitled men , insecure of their masculinity, needing guns to fill in for their lack of courage is what is happening across America.

The lack of leadership in Florida makes things even worse!!!

This is just like Postal 2 Share Your Pain game that I used to play on PC many years ago. Either stand in a queue at Lucky Ganesh convenience store to buy milk or shoot your way through.

Just your typical day in the land of the 'free'.

Depends.

Maybe the government should invest more in treating mental illnesses which is on the rise. Just focusing on guns as the sole problem is not the answer.

You can’t predict who is going to snap, nor stop it. But you can stop them having easy access to firearms.

That’s what any sensible person would suggest.

But how do we know this guy was mentally ill?

Once we find out his race and political affiliations /s

They should remember how they managed those problems during the first pioneer decades. You often had to give your gun away when entering city limits, a village or even a building, and then it was given back to you when you left the place. That’s how to handle it. You may have one at your home or property but not in crowded public. Of course I don’t know the exact and detailed rulings of those times, but they have been obviously quite effective, considering that all people were much more wild, crazy and violent at those times, but still made a big population and big country out of it, despite all those plenty of weapons in everyone’s hand.

Testosterone, egos, men children with guns not able to control their emotions.

The lack of leadership in Florida makes things even worse!!!

So it is a State problem if the POTUS is Democrat but it is a country problem if the POTUS is Republican. I see how things work here. Remember when you were throwing block parties because a Democrat won office plus the House. Where's the change in anything promised to voters who begged for abolishing guns?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

To all Americans fighting Republican vs Liberal here: for an outsider both are equally laughable and losers for their impotence (inability) to solve the gun (among other social) issues. Just so you know ;) .
