Of course anyone with a bit of deduction will point out that the virus, for a lack of a better expression, is gonna virus.
In fact, lockdowns did nothing but perhaps delay the inevitability of infection.
The people who died a few weeks later, were going to perish either way.
What you are astonishingly suggesting is a permanent lockdown. Economies shuttered. People left to rot in their homes with no contact with the outside world.
Its been tried. It was a momentous, tragic failure that claimed thousands of lives. Not one life, however, can be said to have been saved by lockdowns.
Its been done. It was a tragic and stupid failure.

While China maintained the strategy, which resulted in the lowest rates in the world.
This article is about Australia,

Since this also happened in China, is now your argument that China eased lockdown restrictions as well?
China experimented the same "skyrocketing" of cases when Omicron entered the country, this completely disproves your argument and also explains why no international expert recommends following the example of China, calling its approach unsustainable even.
This of course includes yourself, that consider "Excellent points" to disapprove the lockdowns as wrong and the opposite strategy followed by Sweden as much better.

Australia will end the mandatory five-day home quarantine for COVID-infected people on Oct 14, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said on Friday, even as some doctors warned the move would put the public at risk.
Looks like there is some disagreement with some of the experts. Likely the same ones who warned against easing lockdown restrictions, and were then proven correct when infections skyrocketed through the roof.
A champion of COVID-suppression strategy, Australia shifted away from its fortress-style controls and began living with the virus from early this year through a staggered easing of curbs amid higher vaccination rates.
And saw a staggering increase in infections and covid related deaths, as evidenced by easily available government statistical data.
While China maintained the strategy, which resulted in the lowest rates in the world.
Valuing humanity over the economy.

You keep making an appeal to data and experts saying things but when asked to provide a reference you never bring any, this is a very clear baseless appeal to non-existent authority. If no experts nor data show this lack of effect what is the point on saying they do? the fact that you are never able to provide proof of this makes it obvious they don't exist.
No such thing, the "skyrocketing" of cases is clearly due to the introduction of the Omicron variant, and it has happened in every country where this variant is present, including China, if your argument was true then China (that kept their lockdowns) should not have had the huge explosion on cases it did, with the very clear example of Hong Kong.
Australia keep low number for months after discarding their zero covid policy, which changed only after Omicron entered the country. "Medical experts across Asia" is just another baseless appeal to authority that do not exist, it is again just your own personal opinion that you are trying to disguise as if it was shared by the experts, it is not.
It is not even your own opinion depending on the day, you have qualified as "Excellent points" to qualify lockdowns as wrong and instead using focused protection.

Agreed, as do the medical experts and statistical data which show no effect on hospitalizations or deaths.
At the same time, the lockdowns employed resulted in a lower number and rate of infections, hospitalizations, and deaths, but according to Australia government data, when those measures were eased, the opposite effect took place. Skyrocketing and infections were the norm.
The medical experts across Asia were proved correct.

Your argument do not lead to your conclusions, how can you demonstrate that without the measures there would be not a much higher number of hospitalizations and deaths? Omicron caused the same increase of the number of cases all over the world, without actual data that proves the measures (directed to reduce the risk after infection) do not reduce the number of deaths per infected that means your conclusion is still baseless.

for a stretch in July, Australia had the highest case and death counts per capita in the world.
In fact, in the first quarter of 2022, they suffered more covid deaths than in 2020 and 2021 combined.
The measures were absolutely useless.

What next? Decimal currency?
I can't believe doctors are still opposed to this, knowing how much consequential damage has been done to peoples' lives.
But of course, throughout the pandemic, doctors have been getting paid, often for sitting at home on Zoom trying to guess what people have wrong with them. Their careers, jobs and livelihoods were never going to be tossed away, no matter how long we were all locked up.
We are not children or lab rats, and nobody elected the medical profession to control our lives.

I was there for several weeks and most people weren’t reporting their infection nor staying home, off to work ect. Fatallity rate of what 0.125% wtf is everyone here wearing masks? What are they scared of? The rest of the world has woken up and Japan’s still stuck in 2020. I hope people realize here soon there are treatments, vaccines and there isn’t nothin’ to be frightened of anymore.

Yes, they were so concerned about our safety that they punished us physically, mentally and financially to protect it.

No it wasn't. Before widespread vaccination, covid was a very deadly disease. During the peak of covid, 16,000 people were dying every day. Over 1 million people of the US died from it.
Because it was necessary. Why apologise for keeping people safe?
Bobo
Great about time, should be next year here maybe or when the masks come off.

More proof from authorities that each and every preventative measure was borne out of fear, panic and was anti-science.
You won't get a single apology for the lives and businesses ruined.
Not one.

While I agree the measures should be dropped and left up to people whether they should stay home or not if infected, It beggwrs the question if those measures were ever effective at all. Or just prolonged the ineviatable and left many people isolated and alone and many having to lose income? If people are overly paranoid or worried about Covid infected people walking the streets, they should stay home.
Most people who won't be gettig payments anymore are unlikely to get tested anyway so it's a hut moot at this point.
I will love watching how the Albo lovers will need to spin this against the 'science experts' though. Gonna be a hoot.
