what we are asking for is liberty," said Eiro.

If Eiro or others in China want liberty they'll need to shift to another country. China like its autocratic partners Russia, North Korea and Iran will not allow their citizens much more than infrequent opportunities to question the states' authority. See Tiananmen Square for an example of what happens when Chinese citizens do not fully obey their masters.

The CCP will give a little to take the heat off themselves, but they'll come down hard on any protestors they identify.

Strange, though, how so many people who are cheering on the protestors in China were supporting authoritarian governments in Australia, Canada, Europe, NZ, and the US for arresting and fining anti-lockdown and anti-mandatory jabbing protestors in their own countries are upset about the CCP. The double standards are sickening, but those people seem to lack the self awareness to spot their own hypocrisy. Or they just don't care.

Excellent points--so true.

There is nothing strange about it, your misrepresentation is based on ignoring that cost intensive measures in other countries were at that point necessary until immunization was achieved and also much more effective than what they are now that Omicron is prevalent. There is a reason why the measures were supported by science back then, but not now.

This is like criticizing that a patient required radiotherapy for a cancer when he was sick, but not after he improves so much that milder treatments are enough to keep him healthy.

What is worrisome is the ability of Chinese police to identify the cell phones that were present during the demostrations and with that information identify who was there. From there anything is possible including being evicted from one's apartment, losing their job and perhaps even seeing their Hankou revoked. Btw, all of this happened to my own family when they fall out of favor of the CCP so it is not such a remote possibility. A party puke still lives in the family home, which was not rented but owned by our family. Mao took everything.

So you think it was OK for police to fire rubber bullets into the backs of protestors as they did in Australia, and prevent people from accessing their own money, as happened in Canada?

If you're going to practice sophistry, up your game and don't be such an easy target.

So you think it was OK for police to fire rubber bullets into the backs of protestors as they did in Australia

Your false dichotomy is completely irrelevant, if measures can be demonstrated to be effective and reduce the number of deaths that is completely different from doing it in spite of better options being already available. Contrary to what you want to misrepresent effective, efficient measures can be used in a spectrum of degrees according to the needs and specific situation of a coutnry, which means that your claim that all the different ways to apply lockdowns must be equally valid or invalid makes absolutely no snese.

What you're doing, whether you realise it or not (but I think you do), is that you're advocating for firing on, and preventing from using what is rightfully theirs, people who refuse to comply with measures applied totally out of proportion to the risk. People able to think critically spotted this early on despite the propaganda, and now that more and more people are discovering that the risks of the jabs outweigh the benefits for the vast majority due to serious adverse effects, your message is rightfully crumbling.

The treatment you're are pushing is not safe because it is killing people who would otherwise very likely only be inconvenienced by the virus itself, is still experimental, and the long-term adverse effects are unknown but becoming increasingly evident, such as heart inflammation, blood clots, pregnancy problems, and more. But they were rushed out regardless, with the public being told that they would stop the spread - which they didn't, and adverse effects are being played down or outright denied by the medical establishment and governments. Yet among all this blatant dishonesty, you defend tyrants - for that's what they are - because you think the ends justify the means.

They receded a little because they were scared.

The CCP loosened up due to fear but when CoVid rises there, the CCP will crack down and say 'told you so'. Just watch.

There are videos of Chinese citizens being confronted in their homes, with children watching, as plain-clothed "police" come to discuss protest behaviors.

These visits quickly turn wrong and the men is beaten by the "police" in front of his children. Unfortunately, the police didn't see the security cameras placed around the house which clearly caught the illegal beating by four "police" after they broke into the home. They took the man away. He was released later (I don't know if it was 2 hrs or 2 days later), but he got the footage out of China and it is embarrassing the CCP on youtube and other video platforms now. He also posted it to CCP-approved video platforms, but it was removed within 5 minutes. He posted about the experience afterwards ...

This is normal in CCP-controlled China and most Chinese think he got what he should have expected. Seems that police are allowed to beat citizens in China without a judge or due process. S.O.P. Communism with Chinese Characteristics on display for the world to see.

The youtube version of the video had to be masked to hide the beating. Here's an explanation video showing it: https://youtu.be/9BxU-meBKVQ House visit is at 12:20 in the video. Another visit with beating at 18:00 and other at 19:15.

Police visited people at work, using GPS tracking build into the CCP-mandated, COVID status app, to get them on mass transit (where they cannot leave) and when getting their haircut too. Every person who attended any protest is being hunted down. Seems when there are lots of witnesses, they don't beat anyone.

There is a shortage of notebook paper in some cities too.

The CCP is afraid of blank pages shown by protestors, so they've blocked online deliveries to most major cities.
