As Trump rises, Clinton struggles with traditional tactics

P'shaw. Who comes up with this drivel? Oh, I remember: its a horse race!!

This isn't Clinton's problem. Its a Republican problem. Trump 'rising' is just Republicans coming home.

Yep, Donald Trump is the Republican party.

Bring Back Bernie !

Third party choice anyone?

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

One has to ask, how is that anyone, let alone Donald Trump, can be a party to over 3,500 lawsuits over the past 30 years? (source: USA Today, June 2, 2016) That is roughly 10 lawsuits each and every month for 30 years.

Add the six bankruptcies to this and a rational observer has to question Trump's business acumen.

And the GOP is putting this guy up for President?

2 ( +7 / -5 )

Bring Back Bernie !

Bring back Obama.

Third party choice anyone?

Well if your alternative is Trump, then yes, you most definitely should go with the third party choice. Gary Johnson is looking good.

Bring Back Bernie !

Indeed. Bernie is back. Fighting the good fight, which includes not merely endorsing HRC, but arguing for her:

Now, do I have strong differences of opinion with Hillary Clinton? I think the whole world knows that. The goal here is not to say, “Hillary Clinton is the best thing in the history of the world—she’s great, she’s wonderful, she’s terrific.” What we should be saying is that if you look at virtually all of the issues of importance to the people of this country—issues like making public colleges and universities tuition-free—Hillary Clinton is now on record for doing that for people making $125,000 a year or less. You know what? That is pretty revolutionary. That will transform the lives of millions of families in this country. That’s what Clinton stands for.

VOTE DEMOCRAT

'Rational' is the key word. Trump voters have an agenda, and it's breaking down America from what it is. For some of them, that means breaking the current political system. For some, that means breaking the advances made in minority rights in recent decades. But there isn't a single Trump voter that is voting for him because he will make the system better, they're all doing it so he can break it.

Hillary wants to build. Trump wants to break. But in this day and age of instant gratification, breaking things makes people feel better with that sudden release of anger, than taking time to build things does.

The adults among us know which one is better in the long run though.

Stranger

Regarding Trump supporters (who are about 40% of Republican voters):

Yes, the deplorables are nihilists. They know the've lost and have surrendered to a fantasy of returning to the past. This has happened a lot throughout history. Never turns out well. For anyone.

The other half, the ignoramuses, are just hopeless. The current system has left them behind. And they lack the imagination and the the humanity, to vote their and their nations interest. Instead, the're giving the 'ol stick-em-in-your-eye vote.

I find both these types have a lot in common with the Ishihara types.

They ask themselves: Oh, where have all the good times gone?

The answer is, of course, they never had a chance. There is a reason why they are on the bottom of the social ladder.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

It's all going to come down to the debates, and it's going to be Clinton's to lose. I'm curious as to how she plans to react to Trump.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

She's a lawyer, and a skilled debater, so hopefully she will do well.

I could see Trump just talking over her the whole time though. He can't afford to let her speak.

Turns out Trump used $250,000+ from his charity to settle lawsuits against him (not his charity) and to buy paintings of himself. Money donated by other people - to charity.

Turns out this supposed multi-billionaire needs charity, because he can't settle lawsuits where he was found guilty. And he needs charity because he can't afford paintings of himself worth tens of thousands of dollars.

And he calls her crooked?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

And this is very interesting:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-used-258000-from-his-charity-to-settle-legal-problems/2016/09/20/adc88f9c-7d11-11e6-ac8e-cf8e0dd91dc7_story.html?postshare=7751474381637324&tid=ss_tw

Trump used $258,000 from his charity to settle legal problems

It's like...a half dozen incidents and a hole in one prize Trump never paid out on. Just amazing reading.

Yeah, Bernie sold out and gave in to the Washington donkey, but not his voters that have a totally different opinion.

Go Trump!

oh yes, bernies supporters have ideas alright and they dont involve hillary.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

HEY!! I'D LIKE TO KNOW HOW HILLARY HAS 50% OF THE VOTE IN THE POLLS, WHEN TRUMP HAS ALL OF THE VOTERS AT HIS RALLIES ??? HUH?? ANYONE??

"Bring back Bernie"

Too late, he sold out.

"Gary Johnson is looking good"

Wha about Jill Stein?

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

It's all going to come down to the debates,

Maybe.

I think, barring an asteroid, etc, it all comes down to the ground game. 1-3% is what the ground games gives a candidate. Trump will most likely be within 5% of Clinton come Nov. 8. If Dem voters don't turn out (which they will) and Repubs do (which they will, but not as much) then Trump has a shot.

Not likely. But a shot is a shot.

We're playing Russina Roulette here.

VOTE DEM

The flimsy biplanes keep firing rubber bullets at King Kong Trump, and he keeps swatting them down. This year's presidential campaign reads like a monochrome 1930s horror film.

Somewhere between 2/3 and 90% of Bernie supporters intend to vote for Hillary (depending on which poll you look at). The numbers show your statement to be incorrect.

Just say it all ready, you hate America.

If I hated America, I'd be pushing as hard as I could for Trump.

I'm not a huge fan of Clinton, but Trump is so much worse on all counts. He may not have a political track record to prove it, but there's more than enough evidence of it elsewhere (see the link).

Trump is a master when it comes to dealing with the media and crowds, but that's only useful during an election. Trump will not shake things up in Washington, because he doesn't know how. The government is not the media. If you can't bring yourself to vote for Clinton, vote third party and hope for a better candidate next time. It's not too late. Wake up people.

Let's be real, there's no way in hell Trump knew what Aleppo was either. Not giving Johnson a pass, but come on...

Oh, stop! Obama called our Marines "corpse" and ISIS a JV team, if he would have listened to his senior advisors, maybe he wouldn't have made such an idiotic mistake.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

Benghazi actually was nothing. These have already been proven in a court of law.

False equivalencies.

Clinton and her minions are over. End of story. She is a professional fund raiser at best.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

Not many Trump fans on this page, so many will be crying lol

Trump is the man for the job and all these polls coming in suggest he will be the next president of America, wether people on this page like it or not.

Vote down peoples :)

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

The normal American people, not hindered with globalism or being emotionally compromised can see Hillary for what she is, and many are starting to open their eyes as well. Perfect example is Trump gets thousands of people at his free rally's, but this is what Hillary does...

The Clinton event was billed as “lunch with Hillary Rodham Clinton” and had four donation levels to attend. Those contribution levels were described as $100,000, which featured “chair reception with Hillary,” $33,000, which included a “host reception with Hillary,” $5,000, which included “preferred seating” and $2,700.

And then she cancels this one in North Carolina. Hillary is a Neocon/Wall Street/central banker/establishment stooge. It just cracks me up that the lefties support her and think she's a democrat. Let's see if she cancels her rally in Florida tomorrow. She might get 300 people. If she does cancel, then we'll know she still has an allergy problem.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

The other way around. Clinton fans, you're being conned. Clinton and her minions are over. End of story. She is a professional fund raiser at best.

Clinton has a lot of problems but she's part of the Democratic party, a party that is supported by true progressives like Elizabeth Warren and Sanders. Clinton may be a Neo Lib, but she has to answer to the likes of them. Progressives are the only group in government that speak out against Wall Street/central banker/establishment corruption.

Trump is an entertainer who's great with crowds. He has no clue about governing. It just cracks me up that his supporters think he'll do anything but do as his establishment advisors tell him while he preens in the oval office and uses political donations to buy paintings of himself.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

In all honestly, attempting to present the young American electorate a convincing argument that could provide certitude of veracity, accuracy, or truthfulness to shore up the deep mistrust in Democratic nominee for president Hillary Clinton character is a fruitless endeavor.

The Hills Jill Stein defines the prospect deciding whether to vote for Trump or Clinton is a choice between death by 'gunshot' or 'strangulation'......

Have any of the candidates come out in favor of revoking the expatriots' $95,000 + deduction from earned income on their income tax return? ...... A "shallow" concern to some people I imagine, but one concrete yet-to-be-raised issue that should concern every expat. Every ten years or so some Congressman or Senator brings it up. Whoever wins in November will be scrounging for money to run the government. Look out.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Frankly, the electorate have a little choice other than a Clinton presidency. Trump has little, in fact no experience of Government, or political office. His credibility to carry out the duties of commander in chief are self-explanatory.

Clinton will at least be supported by a party apparatus that will hold her fork tongue to account.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

"Hillary is a lawyer." How sad that THAT is held up as a qualification for president. What the US doesnt need is another damned lawyer bungling and selling out to big business.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

How sad that THAT is held up as a qualification for president.

Yeah, what's the deal with someone who knows the law, running a land of laws? How ridiculous.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

@Outrider

God forbid you actually know the law when having a say in it, right? I know it's fun to make jokes about all lawyers being evil, but you know it's not actually true, right? They're not ALL evil and there's also different kinds of lawyers.

I like to make fun of Trump being a reality show star, but I don't actually hold that against him. If a reality show star exhibited sensibility, intelligence, substance, and solid consistent views, I'd support them. I've yet to see one though.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Govener Charlie Crist in a debate answers a question about if he's supporting Hillary, saying he believes she is "honest". Crowd responds with laughter.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Benghazi actually was nothing. These have already been proven in a court of law.

False equivalencies.

That's your opinion, many of us have a completely different opinion.

Trump is an entertainer who's great with crowds. He has no clue about governing.

We had a circus show for the last 8 years and the performers weren't even funny, let alone entertaining...

It just cracks me up that his supporters think he'll do anything but do as his establishment advisors tell him while he preens in the oval office and uses political donations to buy paintings of himself.

I think by now it's safe to say, Trump isn't the kind of man you can tell things or order him around, especially if he feels it's counterproductive.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

That's your opinion, many of us have a completely different opinion.

Some opinions are closer to facts. How many more investigations run by who will change your baseless opinion? She might've been dishonest, but it resulted in nothing aside from the hurt feelings of less than half of the victim's families. The Republicans investigated Benghazi about a dozen times, wasting who knows how many hours and tax payer dollars. Meanwhile the Wall Street bankers that caused the financial crisis have yet to be prosecuted.

I think by now it's safe to say, Trump isn't the kind of man you can tell things or order him around, especially if he feels it's counterproductive.

He'll be begging for advice when he realizes what the job really entails. He'll put on the slightest veneer that he's in charge by ordering "the best people" to come up with "the best advice" within 30 days, and you guys will praise him for his "leadership." And when it all goes to hell like it did with Bush, you'll disown him and act like you never liked him in the first place.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Some opinions are closer to facts.

I agree.

How many more investigations run by who will change your baseless opinion?

There are millions that are not buying the Hillary line. I'm just going by her history.

She might've been dishonest, but it resulted in nothing aside from the hurt feelings of less than half of the victim's families.

So now you want to insult the families of are lying just because Comey decides to take a dive? We all know why he gave her a pass, whatever. The only thing that's important is the families sue the pants off her and go at her as long as humanly possible, never give up and never forget.

The Republicans investigated Benghazi about a dozen times, wasting who knows how many hours and tax payer dollars. Meanwhile the Wall Street bankers that caused the financial crisis have yet to be prosecuted.

Come on, the Dems racked up a $10 trillion debt and they complain about the cost of all this, but turn a blind eye when racking up the national debt? As far as Wall st. Is concerned, then you must really agree with me that Hillary should be behind bars.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Mr Bum, I said what I said because hillary exhibits all the textbook stereotypical traits of a lying, amoral lawyer.

I know there are some decent ones - Gandhi for instance. Then again, he quit the law in disgust.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

hillarys done. of more than 12000 americans polled, more than 80% polled stated that she should be in jail. she has hundreds at her rallies and trump has 10s of thousands. no one believes the fake us news anymore. she needs to drop out and they know it. they are in panic mode.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

polling shows a tightening national race and — most unnerving to Democrats — a Trump rise in key battleground states -- article

The topics for Monday's debate were released today. They are:

“America’s direction,” “achieving prosperity” and “securing America.”

These topics bode well for Mr. Trump because they are issues where his strengths lie; especially national security. Mr. Trump has shown just how much tougher he is in that area than Mrs. Clinton.

Expect the polls jump to be yuge for Mr. Trump this time next week.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

I think Mrs. Clinton has Alzheimer's decease. She is totally unfit to be the next US president. But of course she won't confess it....

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

"Hilary's done. of more than 12000 americans polled, more than 80% polled stated that she should be in jail."

What poll was that? Sounds a bit fishy to me. Did the people who answered the poll suffer from uncontrollable whooping and belief the abolition of slavery was a mistake?

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

She looked pretty bad the other day, at this point, I'm not sure she can make it. Looks pretty pale.

She's had pneumonia. She's been busy. I think she looks pretty good considering that. She looks and acts like a human being. That is a great quality for a president.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Not buying the pneumonia thing, if she really had it, she could never get back up so fast, maybe that's why she looks pale, maybe she should take a very long rest......or call it quits.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Not buying the pneumonia thing

I hear you. I'm not buying that Trump doesn't have the onset of Alzheimer's. Someone could never flip flop so much, and keep repeating the same lies even after being shown video evidence of them saying something else if they didn't. Maybe he should check himself into a long-term mental health care clinic.... or call it quits.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Not buying the pneumonia thing, if she really had it, she could never get back up so fast, maybe that's why she looks pale, maybe she should take a very long rest......or call it quits.

Well, I think you should make up your mind about which excuse you want to use for her quitting. 1) She had pneumonia. I don't think that is a good reason, but you're free to say what you want. 2) She couldn't have had pneumonia because she recovered so fast. 3) She looks pale. (Kind of cancels out number 2, but what the heck, right? Anyway, lots of people get something called "walking pneumonia". She could have had it for a while and just did not know about it. That is until it got bad enough that she did. Now she is feeling better enough that she wants to keep campaigning. Nothing wrong with that. She probably looks pale because she had pneumonia and she's human. Again, not a bad quality for a president.

or call it quits.

Why should she?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Clinton is a joke she should never have been elected for anything she had no eperinece at all and her record in the State Department was deplorable. She and her husband have been known to be shady forever. Trump is an honest and strong minded man who we desperatly need and most of American realizes this he will win by a landslide and we can start restoring the US to a country of honour and decency. the past eight years have been horrible and filled with liberal trash at every level of life.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

What the US doesn't need is another damned lawyer bungling and selling out to big business. much better than a corrupt business man that has had 3500 litigation against him and 6 bankruptcy all the while hiding behind his army of lawyers to keep him out of jail.

We'll see who wins on Nov. 8. But regardless of who wins, the number of people at rallies has nothing to do with the polling levels, as evidence by your own comment that Hillary has "50% of the vote" (which she doesn't) and yet doesn't have the same number of people at her rallies as Trump does.

Recent reports about the technician dealing with her emails show he looked for online help about how to change the addresses of emails of a "very VIP person", just after the Benghazi inquire back in 2014. 1 ( +2 / -1 )

Clinton's problem is she is a known totally corrupt politician and has a factual history of her incompetence, she after all started stab springvwsrs which had, the unintended consequence of terrorism becoming a world army.

Americans will have a very hard time voting for a corrupt criminal, proven or suspected. Americans also will have a hard time voting for a non politician like trump but in the end corrupt criminal Hillary will be too much of a problem to vote for.

Trump is basically seeing negatives from how he has, acted, Hillary has negatives from what she has actually done. It is possible for trump to change how he acts, Hillary can't do anything about what she's done, this is why trump is rising and Hillary is becoming a joke.

Heh, we'll be out in full force on Nov.8 to your complete and total dismay, Super.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

"Trump decided to skip one of the numerous Republican debates, so what?"

I think Bernie challenged him to a debate and Trump was sending out mixed messages about it before crapping himself and saying no.

Wiping the floor with babbling religious lunatics, lizard creatures, vapid losers, assorted bobble-heads and screaming crackpots on the GOP stage is one thing, but he didn't fancy Bernie.

Sounds like a real tough guy. Pathetic.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Trump is basically seeing negatives from how he has, acted, Hillary has negatives from what she has actually done.

She seemingly has no desire to is the real problem. Trump has turned around his act to a large extent, but she still has too many weird issues going on for most people to feel comfortable with as a president.

I looked at the video from Temple yesterday. It is really creepy when you watch her left eye. Her involuntary eye movements are not in sync. She has no control over her left eye. But she doesn’t want to wear those special glasses that would help control it. She is desperate to appear healthy, but every appearance reinforces her serious health issues.

If that's so, then she's really dumb or totally careless and doesn't care about her health, which goes back to my first point.

That is until it got bad enough that she did. Now she is feeling better enough that she wants to keep campaigning. Nothing wrong with that. She probably looks pale because she had pneumonia and she's human. Again, not a bad quality for a president.

Let's see how long she holds up. When Hillary can walk unaided sitting or standing, I'll believe it. If she can have half the energy of Trump, I would be amazed, right now, she looks like she's barely able to stand without losing her breath.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

lot's of evidence above for the statement: half of Trump supporters are deplorable; the other half ignoramuses.

This has to be looked at as a compliment, since anyone supporting Hillary at this time is a tool of the elitists who will want more blood for their hegomonic wars. Killers and murders support Hillary.

Hillary needs to try the traditional tactic of walking upright and speaking without going into coughing fits for minutes at a time.

This has to be looked at as a compliment, since anyone supporting Hillary at this time is a tool of the elitists who will want more blood for their hegomonic wars.

Hillary does have a thing for war. If she wasn't a Democrat a lot of American Lefties would consider that deplorable.

"I think Bernie challenged him to a debate and Trump was sending out mixed messages about it before crapping himself and saying no."

Why should Trump debate another party's candidate who wasn't the party nominee? I would have loved to see that debate actually, but Hillary and the DNC stole the nomination from him.

Well Hillary does have ties with Chicago so putting the fix in like she did against Bernie would be a traditional tactic for her.

Lord help that country when someone with Trump's immorality and viciousness combines it with an articulate voice.

There is a petition to have international observers monitor the election for vote fraud, I hope they can stop Clinton fixing it.
