Within the bloc, frustrations are growing after the Myanmar junta went ahead with its first executions in decades despite personal pleas from Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.

When Hun Sen, former collaborator with the Khmer Rouge loses patience, you know the Myanmar junta is over the line.

But honestly, as long as the military can continue to rake in profits from drug production and trafficking, Human trafficking of young girls and the occasional conduit to or from N. Korea of banned goods, they could give a fig about the rest of the world.

Until these revenue sources are cut off (and as long as there’s a land birder with China, they won’t be) or the military is deposed and defanged (now we’re talking) nothing is going to change.

Will be interesting to see how effective the ASEAN countries are at solving this issue. Would be good to see them form an EU-like power for economic and self-defense needs so they can have more say in the region than any 1 of them do.

Everyone wants tougher action taken against Myanmar, but not China. China loves brutal dictatorships.

ASEAN foreign ministers to push for tougher action on Myanmar:

They are just talking blankly, even at the top of their voice.

Myanmar's rigid military regime would never budge to their pressure.

Anyway, ASEAN members should avoid interfering with members' internal politics..
