As long as they stay within China.
Monty
As long as they don't come to Japan everything is fine!

Don't come to Japan. Not wanted.
Luddite
There are still a lot of people travelling. It won’t end well.

It will actually be safer for them to stay in China. Plus, they can boost domestic spending.
Fighto!
Unfortunately, there are a lot of grubby, unethical companies in Japan and elsewhere (hotels, tourist resorts, retail etc) that are going to welcome mainland (Communist) Chinese back as soon as they can. Pure greed over morals, these companies.

Many rely on Chinese tourists to survive, cobber.
Pukey2
Considering the thumbs-down I've already got for this comment, I'm assuming these people want Chinese tourists to come to Japan.

Yes, please stay in China. I don't want you jamming up my trips around Japan. What a great time to travel.
Jimizo
Why do you keep telling us about your travel? I don’t see what point you are trying to make make. Is it a trolling thing?

China is not communist.
Nothing against travellers (whatever nation they hail from) but maybe it's not the best idea to be heading off, at the moment.

In what sense?

My last time in Kyoto was so crowded it was nearly impossible to enjoy. I don’t blame the abundance of Chinese that visit - it’s a beautiful place. Must be great about now.
If a traveler follows the science and wears a face mask, keeps 2 meter distance from others, washes their hands often, uses sanitizer there is little risk. Plenty of elites, government officials, academics, and celebrities are still traveling. There is a certain degree of risk but it can be mitigated with careful planning and precautions.
What else do you call a one party state with a politburo?
Zaphod
Gee I wonder why that might be.
Toasted Heretic
In China's case? Market capitalist dictatorship.
But in its present Xi era incarnation, it is far removed from the ideals of communism.
