People love the blame game and pointing fingers. This lady is very brave to take sole responsibility for an action against an unpredictable situation. I am sure her resignation will be a wake-up call for some.

Mikakos was incompetent, but at least she had the grace to resign after being thrown under the bus by her colleagues. Not so the rest of them, especially the premier himself, who have a curious case of collective amnesia about who was responsible to the quarantine fiasco.

Andrews is a rotten liar who should be in prison.

Good on her to do this but I do not think the outbreak is an unpredictable situation. Australia has closed its international border and even restricted the movement of people between states to contain the spread of Covid-19. This means the whole international tourism industry and even parts of domestic tourism are sacrificed so Aussies can live a relatively Covid free lives. Therefore, the quarantine of returning traveller must be taken very seriously and the use of untrained private security guards is clearly a serious lapse of judgement. As usual when asked whose fault is it no one puts up his or her hand and just keeps saying "I don't know". People loves pointing fingers but sometimes someone needs to take responsibility.

Police in Victoria arresting journalists and pregnant women for expressing their opinions and doing their jobs-a power trip by those in power!

BigYen, I agree the Libs in Victoria are pathetic, with the exception of Tim Smith, which is one big reason why Andrews is still premier.

But the inquiry is showing day in and day out that nobody is taking responsibility for their actions in relation to the quarantine fiasco, including Andrews, and the buck stops with him. What’s more, he wants the police and other “authorised officers,” whatever that means, to lock up people people before they even commit a crime under his draconian laws. This includes peaceful protesters and people lawfully voicing their opinions. Yet the cops did nothing when thousands of BLM protesters marched through Melbourne while numbers were rising. It’s a clear case of double standards - if Andrews agrees with the cause, it’s ok.

and we've gone too far along this path and made far too many sacrifices to risk jeopardizing everything with mass resignations and all the instability that would be brought down on our heads as a consequence.

Sunk cost fallacy. They have to hire some competent experts, which they failed to do first up, instead of yes-men and unqualified public servants. Clear the decks and get people who know what they’re doing and aren’t scared to tell the premier he’s wrong. There was only on senior public servant who went public and resigned out of frustration, clearly unable to get through to Andrews and his cadre of lackeys.

Find out what AIS, Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome is. One may be genetically male, as in an X and a Y chromosome, yet have a fully female body, or be "intersex" with any mixture of male and female attributes. The practice in the west has been for surgeons to assign intersex babies a sex through cosmetic surgery at as young an age as possible. Increasingly that practice is frowned upon, preferring to let the child chose their sex later on when they can tell which sex fits their nature.

Someone still doesn't understand the gravity of this pandemic. Thinking like yours is why the pandemic will continue to kill people around the world needlessly.
